You're leaving corporate to do work that matters? Here is a gentler way to turn your story into visibility: work with me and start your Sunny Chapter Edit

About today's episode:

What if the guilt you feel when you finally put yourself first is actually proof you're growing?

This week I'm sitting down with Gifty Enright - women's leadership coach, author, TEDx speaker, and someone who has genuinely lived what she teaches. After 30 years in corporate, tracking 14 health symptoms on a spreadsheet and running herself into the ground, she went and found her own answers. Now she helps working women and mothers stop burning out and start building lives that actually feel good to be in.

We go deep on why so many capable women are secretly running on empty - and it's not a time management problem. It's a self-esteem problem. We talk about guilt and what it's really telling you, why owning your new role as the "chief nappy changer" role might be the most powerful thing you do, and the one micro-step you can take today even if you have zero time and zero energy.

What we talk about:

  • The untold power of motherhood and the importance of raising future leaders
  • Filling your own cup is not selfish - it's part of the job. When you run on empty, the people you love most feel it most - your kids.
  • The overwhelm and the doing of a million things is usually a self-esteem issue, not a productivity one
  • Women in the workplace - from high functioning to burnout
  • Know what you actually want - so many of us are quietly living out someone else's version of success
  • Superpower Mother: You are a change master. Everything women navigate and adapt to? It's time we take credit for that
  • Women's life stages: Power, strategic visibility & society's expectations

Was dich in dieser Episode erwartet:

I often explore my own personal challenges through the podcast and this week I reflect on how me trying to change my habbits and patterns affects me, how I handle setbacks and how I improve going forward.

In this episode:

I talk about the importance of discipline and the challenges of forming new habits, particularly in the context of working from home.

I reflect on the the impact of generational patterns on behavior and the significance of role modeling for our children.

When Your World Ends, Start Creating: The Debbie Weiss Midlife Reinvention Story That Will Change How You See "The Right Time"05 Nov 202500:27:57

This is Part 2 of the career and life journey with Debbie Weiss

"I never want to stop saying what's next."

Guest: Debbie Weiss - Bestselling author, speaker, and creator of "The Sprinkle Effect"

What happens when you spend 50 years being the responsible one and suddenly realize you've lost yourself completely?

Debbie Weiss spent three decades running an insurance agency, caring for a father with special needs for 30 years, raising a son on the autism spectrum, and supporting a husband battling mental illness. She was the person everyone leaned on. The one who always did the right thing. The one who handled everything.

But inside? She was miserable and didn't even know it.

At 50, a weekend away with friends changed everything. Debbie realized she'd spent half a century living for everyone else and had no idea who she actually was or what she wanted. Watching her parents live with regret, she made a decision: this wasn't going to be her story.

Now, at 62, while her friends talk retirement, Debbie is just getting started. She's a bestselling author with viral TikTok videos (3.7 million views!), has appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show, and is building an entirely new career helping others step out of victim mode and into their authentic lives. Always afraid to speak in front of people she finally pushes through that fear and realizes - maybe that's what she came here in the end.

On Creating During Crisis

  • Why Debbie's therapist told her to take a writing course when her husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer
  • How writing 3,000 words a week gave her control when everything else was spinning
  • The truth about finishing her book two weeks after her husband died

On Fear and Speaking

  • From terrified insurance agent to discovering her superpower on stage
  • Why 85-90% of what we worry about never happens (and the rest is never as bad as we think)
  • The moment she couldn't wait to give her next speech

On Starting at 62

  • Creating sprinkle gift boxes, gratitude journals, and card decks, all brand new ventures
  • Why "what's next, what's next, what's next" is her favourite question
  • How sprinkles became a metaphor for adding joy to life's journey

Always afraid to speak in front of people she finally pushes through that fear and realizes - maybe that's what she came here in the end.

Key Takeaways:

  • Why waiting for the "perfect time" to pursue your dreams means you'll wait forever
  • The turning point moment that made Debbie realize she'd lost herself completely
  • How she discovered she was creative after spending 50 years convinced she "didn't have a creative bone in her body"
  • The game-changing mindset shift from "I'm not this" to "what if I could be?"
  • Why authenticity on social media (messy hair and all) connects more than perfection
  • How one vulnerable speech changed the entire trajectory of her life
  • What it really means to stop being a victim of your circumstances

Quotes:

  • "I don't want to be that person at the end of my life looking back saying, man, it flew by so quickly and I didn't do what I was here to do."
  • "When you suppress yourself, you're suffering. You're trying to hide because what will people think of you?"
  • "If you don't let your true self come through, just realize that you're not reaching and helping the people that you were meant to help."
  • "I'm not creative while literally creating all these amazing things it's so typical for us women, isn't it?"

1500 Situps: The 30-day sit-up challenge to build discipline with my 8-year old 25 Sep 202500:11:35

Today's co-host is my daughter Stella

Connecting with your kids can be super challenging at times when you are super busy.  I get it.

Instilling discipline into your child's day-to-day routine and even make it fun, can be even more challenging. And yet- discipline is important for success in life.

Not just for our kids - for us too.

Many successful people cite discipline as their main key ingredient for success.

Discipline gets a bad rap but actually - we can really truly free our mind and boost productivity by creating habits and orderliness that in turn create a free mind and strong foundation for success.

And don't get me wrong.. I am not a master at this AT ALL.

But it turns out.. my 8-year old daughter Stella is.

So we created a 30-Day Challenge that did not just show her how fun commitment and discipline can be, it brought us closer together by doing it together. Highly recommend to any mum looking for a fun way to engage and connect with their children, it was SO much fun. And - we both felt an amazing sense of achievement. This little exercise was GOLD in SO many ways.

PS.

From Graphic Designer to Building a Holistic Wellness Practice Mighty Mama & Mom Entrepreneur (And Why Your Health Is Your Family's Heartbeat)19 Sep 202500:54:57

What if the key to being a better mom isn't working harder, but taking care of yourself first?

Today, meet: Working mom Moriah from Mighty Mama Coaching in Canada, who works in personal training and health coaching specificallyfor moms. She went from feeling trapped at a desk to helping moms discover that their health isn't selfish, it's the foundation their whole family needs.

Moriah's journey is beautifully messy and real. She studiedgraphic design, felt like she was in prison sitting at a desk all day, and had the courage to completely pivot. Through life in England, Costa Rica, and raising a toddler, she discovered her true calling: reminding moms that their health is the heartbeat of their whole family.

Key Learnings

Your Health = Your Family's Foundation

She says: "Your health isn't just your own. It's the heartbeat of your whole family." When moms prioritize their health, it creates a ripple effect that benefits everyone. You're not being selfish, you're modeling healthy habits and showing up as your best self.

Make Fitness Fun, Not a Chore

Forget intimidating gym culture. When you enjoy something, you'll actually stick with it. Moriah brings joy and playfulness to fitness because sustainable change happens when it feels good.

Start Small, Build Momentum

Don't try to transform overnight. Even one or two workoutsper week is better than nothing. Small consistent actions build the momentum that creates lasting change.

Strength Training Is Non-Negotiable

Especially after having kids. Think about being able tocatch yourself if you slip on ice at 70, or getting up from the floor without help. It's about staying strong and independent as you age.

You Don't Need a Gym

You can build strength at home with bodyweight exercises orbasic weights. Your living room works just as well as any fancy gym.

Community Changes Everything

We weren't meant to do this alone. Having people whounderstand your journey makes all the difference, whether it's fitness, career changes, or motherhood.

Stop the Comparison Game (and important one for all of us)

Stop measuring yourself against people who are 20 stepsahead. The right people will be drawn to YOUR unique approach, not the shiny object everyone else is chasing.

Trust Your Body and Heart

If something doesn't feel aligned, your career, workout routine, or life choices, then trust that feeling. It's easier to make a change now than stay uncomfortable and miserable forever.

3 Mindset Shifts That Helped This Working mom Go from Graphic Designer to Purpose-Driven Entrepreneur

Nadine Krischke begleitet introvertierte Frauen beim Aufbau ihres Herzensbusiness.

Was willst du? Nicht dein Umfeld, nicht Instagram-Gurus. Deine Werte, deine Vision, deine Aufgabe.

Deine Vielseitigkeit ist deine Stärke

Multi-passionate? Multi-hyphenate?

  1. Gesellschaftliche Erwartungen
  2. Familienmeinungen ("Mach doch was Sicheres!")

Klingt spannend? Hör rein!

PS. heute hatte ich leider kleine Microschwierigkeiten, beim nächsten Mal wieder besser!

Why Ownership is The New Black03 Sep 202500:24:26

Program enrolment this week for 5 days

Join the Priority List now for the 6-Week-Co-Creative Website

This week sharing with you our newest program and explain the thing about websites versus social media: you're building a house on rented land when you rely solely on Instagram and TikTok, where algorithms can decide your visibility and less than 2% of your followers actually see your posts.

Meanwhile, your website (if built well) can be your sales person 24/7 and your online HQ where visitors spend focused minutes (not distracted seconds) building trust with you before they buy. The magic isn't in creating the perfect website from day one - it's in building something flexible that grows with your inevitable pivots and changes, because every entrepreneur discovers that businesses evolve through trial and error, not perfection.

So this radically different program gives you that independence and ownership, letting you update and adapt without bleeding money to developers every time you need to tweak your positioning or add a new offer, which will happen faster than you think.

If you are ready to build now - make sure to join the list so you don't miss the launch this week, enrolment is open for 5 days.

You left corporate to do work that matters? Tell me your story and build trust: work with me and create your Sunny Chapter Edit

What if the return-to-office mandate isn't about collaboration at all - but about real estate investments and control? This week, we're exposing the truth about why trust is eroding at work, why women are the first to see through it, and how to build your own flexibility before you're forced to react.

Companies are demanding you return to the office while simultaneously talking about AI replacing jobs. The math isn't mathing. In this episode, remote work futurist Nola Simon breaks down what's really happening - and how to position yourself ahead of the curve instead of waiting to be managed out.

The future of work isn't coming. It's here. And if you're a woman, a mother, or someone building meaningful work without the performance theatre, this conversation matters.

Nola Simon, a future of work strategist and remote work futurist, joins the podcast to talk about what's really driving return-to-office mandates, why trust in leadership is breaking down, and how women—especially caregivers and multi-passionate entrepreneurs—are quietly redesigning work on their terms.

This isn't about trends. It's about agency, self-trust, and preparing yourself for what's next without waiting for anyone's permission.

In this episode, we chat about the future of work for moms:

  1. Why return-to-office mandates are really about commercial real estate (not productivity)
  2. How trust erosion between employees and leadership is reshaping the workplace
  3. The hidden pattern women notice first: values vs. behavior gaps in company culture
  4. Why portfolio careers and flexibility aren't side hustles—they're strategic safety nets
  5. How to practice "everyday futurism" and prepare for change before you're forced to react
  6. The critical difference between your job title and your actual skill set
  7. Why the most valuable work (connection, ERGs, community building) is still unpaid—and mostly done by women

Don't miss this episode if:

  1. You're tired of waiting for work to go "back to normal"
  2. You're considering building income streams outside traditional employment
  3. You're a working mom navigating flexibility, caregiving, and career simultaneously
  4. You sense something is off at your company but can't quite name it
  5. You want to future-proof your career without burning out

Quick key notes from our interview:
  1. Stop waiting for work to go back to normal. Design your own normal. If your job disappeared tomorrow, what would you want your work life to look like? Start moving toward that now.
  2. Treat flexibility like a strategy, not a request. Audit your role: which parts truly require you to be in a specific place? Use that clarity to negotiate.
  3. Build optionality before you need it. One income stream = one point of failure. Choose one low-pressure way to expand your income and skills this year.
  4. Practice everyday futurism. Run scenarios: What if my role changed? What if my company downsized? What skills or income streams would help me feel confident?
  5. Trust your pattern recognition—it's a leadership skill. When you notice repeating patterns (disengagement, fear, unclear leadership), use that insight to inform your next move.
  6. Separate your identity from your job title. You are more than one role, one company, or one chapter. Your transferable skills travel with you.
  7. Build self-trust through small repetitions. Make one decision this month that prioritizes your future self, even if it feels uncomfortable.

Remember you're wild with Chris Maddox27 Aug 202501:00:19

This is a conversation about the divine feminine rising and our mother energy

and easily one of the most beautiful conversations I recently had when I was lucky enough to talk with Chris Maddox, founder of the Wild Woman Project, and honestly, I'm still getting goosebumps, when I listened to it now.

Chris never planned to create this global movement. She wasjust this young actress in New York City doing a project called "The Vagina Monologues" when she stumbled into her first women's circle.

The amazing part is, it only started with 'One vision of golden circles of light' scattered across the world later, and she's now trained hundreds of women in 26 countries to lead their own circles.

We talked about:

The power of speaking your truth out loud with other women (I can tell you - it's amazing, I just did it with total strangers and have been to a women's truth gathering circle myself recently here in Mallorca and Chris put into words exactly what I experienced) When you sit in that circle and share your deepest fears with women that you don't know, essentially, there's something so magical in this whole experience.

It looks so simple from the outside, but you walk away from this experience so strengthened inside. It has really touched me like to my core. Chris says it perfectly: when you speak from your heart in circle and it's witnessed, "it fortifies it in a way that's different than your own personal practice." Those passing pieces of guidance that come through? They become real, tangible, life changing.

We talk about her beautiful path from actress to women's circle leader.

If you're one of those women, you know, like the seekers, where you're standing at the edge of becoming and sometimes you just can't really grasp the thing just yet. Like you know that there's something there, that something is calling you, but you're not quite there yet... Chris has the most beautiful advice.

She talks about cultivating that conscious relationship between your mind and your inner guidance system. "Things take the time they take," she says, quoting Mary Oliver. But while you're being patient with the process, gather the clues. Notice what lights you up, what moves you, what you keep being drawn to.

Know where you're heading20 Aug 202500:13:36

What I've been doing every morning..

I wake up and before I even get out of bed, I meditate for 10-15 minutes while my daughter is asleep. I put on my headphones and use a Joe Dispenza meditation. Then after I drop her at school, I come home, make breakfast and coffee, and I sit down for just 10 minutes to journal (I really do! before I start anything else)

Here is something I started doing in August

It's a little thing I borrowed from Brian Tracey.

Every single morning, I write down my 10 most important goals like they've already happened. I write them in present tense, with so much gratitude, as if I'm already living them. And I don't look at what I wrote the day before. That's the trick.. then the magic happens.

Have a listen, this exercise helped me not just realize what is most important to me currently, it also makes me feel grateful and more confident and supported every morning.

Highly recommend!!

Do you know that feeling when you've outgrown your role, even when everyone else thinks you should be satisfied? When you sense there's something bigger calling you, but you can't quite put your finger on what it is?

That's exactly where my guest Olivia found herself - leading international expansions, closing 175 million euro deals, managing teams across continents. From the outside, it looked like the perfect corporate success story. But inside She knew she was meant for something more.

In this episode:

How becoming a mom can actually sharpen your focus on what truly matters - no more time for BS, as Olivia puts it

Why moving countries with your family is a completely different game than moving as a single person (and the unexpected challenges nobody prepares you for)

The power of looking at struggles as growth opportunities rather than roadblocks

How to build meaningful relationships in your business - because success really comes down to the quality of connections in your life

Why competition between women can actually be our greatest catalyst for growth (if we shift how we think about it)

The journey from serving large corporations to finding your purpose working with women entrepreneurs - and why that pivot changed everything

Key Takeaways for Career-Transitioning Moms:

  • Surrender the Fear and Serve Something Bigger
  • Stop making it about your insecurities and start focusing on how you can serve others. That's where real magic happens.
  • Success comes down to the quality of connections in your life. You don't need many, but make them meaningful.
  • Your Ideal Client Might Surprise You: Don't get too attachedto who you think you should serve. Stay open to who you're actually attracting.
  • Legal Foundation Matters for Online Entrepreneurs: Building an online business requires proper legal groundwork - but it doesn't have to be overwhelming with the right support.

In this episode, we talk about Ioana's beautiful journey from small-town Texas to Barcelona, Spain - how she left everything behind to chase her dreams to build a career in a suitcase.

If you're listening to this as a working mother, maybe feeling lost in a job that doesn't fulfill you, or maybe freelancing but feeling like you're constantly on a hamster wheel, I want you to know that there's another way.

You can build systems that protect you. You can create products from your expertise. You can set up streams of income that don't require you to trade every hour for a dollar. It's not easy, and it's not instant, but it's absolutely possible.

Key Takeaways:

Scarcity kills sustainability: You cannot build a lasting intuitive business based on fear and short-term thinking

Contracts are your safety net: Short-term projects are fine for short-term money, but long-term success requires protective agreements

Systems trump scrambling: The All-In system emerged from crisis but became the foundation of consistent client acquisition

Professional relationships require mutual respect: If you give notice, they should too

Passive income is possible: Digital products can create freedom while you focus on family

Teams amplify your impact: You don't have to do everything yourself – collaboration accelerates success

Risk-taking is essential: The biggest breakthroughs come from the biggest leaps

Mindset creates possibilities: Believing in endless possibilities isn't naive – it's necessary for growth

You know that feeling when someone asks "What do you do?" and suddenly you freeze because you don't have an answer anymore? Or when you wake up in the morning and for a split second forget that you don't have that job to go to anymore? If you've ever lost a job that meant everything to you, you'll know it's not just about the paycheck. It's about losing your whole sense of who you are.

Today I want to talk about something most of us never prepare for - career grief. The real, deep sadness that happens when we lose not just our income, but our identity, our sense of belonging, our whole sense of purpose. And why it's completely normal to feel like you're mourning something that was never supposed to die.

Today I speak with Laverne McKinnon who spent years climbing the ladder in entertainment at CBS, helping develop shows like CSI and Criminal Minds. She was the person advocating for writers, championing stories, literally changing people's careers. Until the day she was asked to leave.

Today she helps people feel their way through sad times like this, understand career grief and rebuild their life to rise up again.

We talk about why career loss hits so deep. She explains to me what disenfranchised grief means, a new term I learned.

Today was another beautiful conversation with someone that chose to dedicate their life and career to helping other people rebuild theirs - and how lucky am I that I get to speak to these beautiful souls, just like Laverne.

Why Your Old Career Doesn’t Fit Anymore (and where your new career is hiding)02 Jun 202500:19:04

You're sitting there with your coffee getting cold, scrolling through job ads that used to make your heart race.

But now? Nothing.

Just this heavy feeling in your chest because the work that once fit you perfectly feels like it belongs to someone else entirely.

I've been exactly where you are right now. After my daughter was born, I had twenty years of marketing experience under my belt—work I absolutely loved. But when I sat down to go back, it hit me like a truck. I had changed so much, but I hadn't updated my work to match who I'd become as a mother.

And here's what I realized sitting on my bedroom floor two and a half years ago, feeling completely lost: your comfort zone isn't keeping you safe. It's quietly stealing your dreams, one "maybe next year" at a time.

Why staying comfortable is actually the most dangerous thing you can do (for yourself and your family)

I talk about how we tell ourselves we're being practical, being smart, waiting for the right time. But really? We're just scared. And while we're waiting to feel ready, our kids are growing up and we're staying stuck.

The inner work that actually changes everything

I share exactly what I did when I realized I couldn't keep living this way—the journaling, the reading, the coaching that helped me see what I really wanted. Not what I thought I should want, but what actually lit me up inside.

How I landed my dream job in a field I'd never worked in

This part still gives me chills. I flew back to Australia with my baby, no job, no apartment—just this deep knowing that I was on the right path. And six months later, I was working in corporate social responsibility, doing work that stretched me every single day.

Your next step (because I know you're ready)I give you simple, doable things you can start this week. Not overwhelming stuff—just gentle pushes that will get you moving toward work that actually fits who you are now.

"If your old career doesn't fit anymore, it's not because something's broken. It's because you have evolved."

"Most people don't regret the things they did. They regret what they didn't do."

"You have to move before readiness shows up."

From Stay-at-Home Mom to Parenting Coach - Helen Zimprich's Career Reinvention to Mom Entrepreneur & Holistic Business23 May 202501:03:34

Have you done the 90-Second Truth Quiz to Check in with Your Soul?

I just had an inspiring conversation with Helen Zimprich that I can't wait to share with you.

Originally born in Germany, Helen is a mother of three who made a successful career transition at 40+ from stay-at-home mom to certified parenting coach. Living in Lebanon for 13 years, Helen shares her journey of trusting her intuition, building confidence, and creating a growing business in just six months. It seems with the right mindset and energy - anything is possible!

The Real Message I took away from this conversation is that everything we need is already inside us. We just need to quiet the external noise and trust that inner voice. Whether it's knowing how long to breastfeed, when to start a new career, or how to guide our children - the answers are there if we're brave enough to listen.

Starting Over at 40 (And Why It's Perfect!)

Helen's story is proof that it's never too late to step into your purpose. At 40-something, she's building a business, showing up authentically on social media every single day, and making a real impact in families' lives.

If you're feeling called to something but doubting yourself, let Helen's story be your reminder that you can have everything - maybe just not all at the same time. And that's perfectly okay.

Helen was recently recognized as one of the top 100 influencers for 2025 by Global Woman Club.

Key takeaways:

  • Career change after 40: Why it's the perfect time to start over
  • Building confidence as a mother: Trusting your parenting instincts
  • Mindset and manifestation: Using these tools with children and in business
  • Social media strategy: Authentic content creation for new entrepreneurs
  • Networking for moms: Finding your target audience effectively
  • Work-life balance: Managing business growth as a working mom family responsibilities
  • Your 40s are perfect for starting a business - You have wisdom, patience, and life experience that your 20s lacked
  • Trust your parenting intuition - You have all the instincts you need; learn to listen to your inner voice over external advice
  • Consistency beats perfection - "If you don't stop, you cannot fail" - show up daily on social media and in your business
  • Authentic content connects - Write in your own voice and share your real experiences rather than using AI-generated content
  • You can have it all, just not all at once - It's okay to focus on family first and career later

Turn your story into influence: work with me

I love to start my Sunday mornings with a lie in, morning coffee in hand, piano playlist in the background, candles, reading my book and enjoying the slowness before I start the day. I love doing that on Sundays.

I just read the following sentence:

“Criticism of the project is not criticism of you. You do not equal the project.”

I am reading these lines on page 47 of the book Purple Cow by Seth Godin. I am getting surprisingly emotional. It’s just a small paragraph in a book filled with observations about creative marketing in crowded marketplaces.

I am reading… “Being safe is risky”.

In the book he points out, that we have been raised with a false belief: that criticism leads to failure.

Just think about the school system or the way you grew up in your family.

A business that is boring, won’t attract much criticism. It will also not stand out and become highly successful. So, by avoiding negative feedback, by staying safe, I am potentially avoiding success?

  1. Warum deine Komfortzone dich beruflich ausbremst

Purpose sits next to the worst thing that's ever happened to you08 Apr 202500:15:09

Your Purpose Lives Next to Your Pain

Today’s episode is straight from my heart — it's inspired by a TikTok Wisdom I discovered that made me think about my purpose differently.

It was a video by Dan Martell — author, coach, entrepreneur — and he said something I just had to share with you:

"Purpose sits next to the very worst thing that's ever happened to you."

Whew. I know.

In this episode, I unpack that powerful idea — what it means to me, and how it might just help you find your higher calling, especially if you’re a mama trying to rebuild, rediscover, or explore your purpose beyond motherhood.

I talk about:

  • How your deepest pain can become your greatest gift

  • The questions to ask yourself to uncover your purpose

  • Why becoming the person you once needed is the most powerful transformation

  • How this journey ties into the mission behind Mama What’s Next — and why supporting mothers in their careers isn’t optional, it’s essential (for all of us)

Whether you’ve ever felt like the black sheep in your family, or you’re navigating big changes, I see you. I feel you. And I want you to know — you are not alone.

So let's take a walk — and let’s catch up.

And hey — if you have enjoyed this episode, don’t forget to subscribe, leave a quick review, or share this with someone who needs a little sunshine today. 💛

Sending love,

Melie x

Why doing things messy exploded my creativity - and made me cry in 3 Minutes.03 Apr 202500:11:27

This episode I have recorded in 15 Minutes.

The idea for it came to me in exactly 3 minutes.

The best, most surprising, magical 3 minutes.

At the end of the 3 minutes - I sat in my car, crying.

I have to thank Cathy Heller for it. I recently bought a virtual retreat from Cathy for a special of 26$. It was the best 26$ I ever spent.

The online sessions and exercises she shared were amazing.

I felt the energy she activated in me.

Very special.

One of the exercises she made us do was a creative play to help us find our flow state.

To connect to spirit.

To be brave and create messy work.

Because messy work means you end up doing the work. Messy work means, you actually put it out in the world.

Which is why I really want to share this with you.

Because I believe if you turned on the music and started creating something out of nothing for 3 minutes - who knows what would happen?

So - you have 3 minutes.

3 minutes to start something out of nothing. Write, sing, draw.

I sat in my car.

So I started to tell a story.

Listen to my story and what happened.

To me, it was quite magical.

Love, Mellie

Why Having More Fun Makes You More Successful26 Mar 202500:27:08

In this episode, I’m diving into something that’s always been a game-changer for me—fun at work.

In particular - Why Having More Fun Makes You More Successful.

You know I’m all about bringing joy and meaning into everything I do, and today, I’m sharing a personal story about why fun has always been the key for me, particularly in my work.

There’s actually some solid research backing this up! There is a straight correlation between fun and job satisfaction. A recent study looked at how adding fun to the workplace impacts job satisfaction. Turns out, it’s not just about ping-pong tables and happy hours—what really makes a difference is a friendly environment, recognition, and rewards. Basically, when employees feel valued and appreciated, they’re happier and more productive. Makes sense, right?

I was lucky enough to work at several companies across my career where I experienced this kind of fun and recognition.

The study surveyed people across different generations and job roles, and the results were crystal clear—when work feels enjoyable, people stick around longer and perform better. And honestly, who doesn’t want that? But, of course, it’s all about balance—workplace fun should align with company goals and be inclusive for everyone.

So, let’s chat :)

Wait, where did I go? #RediscoverYourself18 Mar 202500:13:55

Motherhood - the end of personal development. Really?

This is a question I have stumbled across myself. Many women are wondering, what comes next? What comes after I give up everything for a new little soul that enters my life?

Yes - you will experience a major shift in identity, priorities, and values, which in turn can lead to a greater understanding of yourself. You will feel a new sense of meaning.

Becoming a mom enriches your life and the way you grow in so many new ways that you can't even envisage yet, that you can't even grasp yet. In fact - it's a whole new way of self-discovery and self-development.

So becoming a parent, a mother, has been my greatest gift in this life. It has given me completely new perspectives, new values, incredible courage. It has grown my inner strength, my intuition, my inner knowing and given me so much wisdom... and let's not forget the patience it is teaching me daily :) hurrah!

Key takeaways:

  • Parenting is demanding, especially early on: Most agreed that in the first few years, life often feels like an endless cycle of work, childcare, and chores. However, as children grow older, more personal time becomes available.
  • Personal growth continues, just differently: Personal development doesn’t stop after having kids; it evolves. Parenthood itself is seen as a form of growth—teaching patience, resilience, and self-reflection.
  • Support systems matter: A supportive partner, helpful family, or financial means to hire assistance (like cleaners or babysitters) can help parents maintain personal time and pursue passions.
  • Mindset is crucial: Those who maintained a clear sense of self and set boundaries (such as making time for hobbies or friendships) found balance easier to achieve. Parenthood didn’t erase their identity; it added another layer to it.
  • Sacrifice is inevitable, but not total: Most admitted that personal passions and dreams don’t vanish, but they do require sacrifice. The consensus is that you can still pursue personal development, but it takes effort, planning, and compromise.
  • Parenting can enhance personal growth: Some said becoming a parent accelerated their personal growth, making them more patient, empathetic, and well-rounded.
  • Flexibility and adaptation are key: Over time, parents learn to adapt hobbies and interests to their new routines, often sharing them with their children.
  • Financial and emotional support make a big difference: Those who could afford help or had strong support networks found it easier to balance parenting and personal ambitions.
  • Parenthood isn’t for everyone right now: Several people emphasized that if someone isn’t ready to sacrifice some personal freedom, it might be best to wait before having children.

The Magic of Women's Circles: The Red Tent (Holistic Business)13 Mar 202500:20:55

-Solo episode-

In a world where women often feel isolated or in competition, women's circles rebuild trust and sisterhood.

Women leave feeling seen, heard, and supported—sometimes for the first time in their lives.

It’s 2025, and we’re more disconnected than ever. So if you find yourself needing support—a safe space—if you feel alone in your journey of womanhood and motherhood, if you wonder why your partner just doesn’t get it… you’re not alone. Your suffering doesn’t belong in the silence of your home. That is what sisterhood is for.

Because the truth is, humans are wired for connection. We are, after all, some of the most social creatures on Earth—right up there with monkeys. And yet, somewhere along the way, modern life pulled us apart. We traded villages for nuclear families, storytelling for screen time, and deep, soul-nourishing community for the illusion of independence. But it wasn’t always this way.

Women have always gathered. Always.

Somewhere deep in our bones, we remember this. That’s why, even now, we crave it. We are longing for the unseen, unspoken magic of being truly witnessed.

In these circles, women learn to own their shadows rather than let them control them. This leads to freedom, confidence, and deep self-love.

  • Many women carry unconscious patterns from their ancestors, whether it's people-pleasing, fear of using their voice, or wounds from past relationships. Shadow work helps release these patterns and create new, empowered ways of being.
  • Women who have felt disconnected from their truth—whether through societal pressure, toxic relationships, or self-doubt—find their voice again in these circles.
  • Sharing in a safe space helps them see that their experiences are valid, worthy, and important.

Last week's magic: Tameana healing and women's shadow circles05 Mar 202500:26:33

-Solo episode-

Let’s say a woman joins a shadow circle because she feels stuck in life—maybe she’s lost her passion, is exhausted from work and family demands, or is carrying past heartbreak. Through ritual, sharing, and deep introspection, she begins to recognize the beliefs holding her back.

One night, she speaks a truth she’s never said out loud—maybe about a fear of not being good enough or a past experience that shaped her. Instead of judgment, she’s met with understanding, hands reaching for hers, heart-felt hugs, and a wave of collective healing.

By the end of the journey, she’s no longer carrying that weight alone. She feels lighter, more alive, and more connected to herself and her purpose.

Today I take you with me to my spiritual weekend sharing a healing technique called Tameana healing and a Women's shadow circle I attended. A shadow circle where we talked about speaking the truth. A shadow circle where we did speak our truth, our fears. Took off our mask. Saw our own fears and beliefs reflected in other women's faces and actions.

Because she is me. We are all connected. Often working through the same patterns and challenges.

It was beautiful to recognize that.

Love, Mellie.

Focus on success and success will show up #confidencehack26 Feb 202500:10:32

-Solo episode-

Today I share with you a little tool to help you build your confidence and motivation.

Think about it: how often do you end your day dwelling on what you didn’t get done, what went wrong, or what’s still on your to-do list? It’s such a common habit, but it’s a recipe for self-doubt.

Today I tell you about a simple habit that has profound effects on your confidence.

Remember, like I always say - confidence doesn’t come from big, flashy moments. It grows from small wins over time.

It’s Time to take One Step Outside.

2026 is the year of the Solopreneur Revolution - How Women are Designing Work That Loves Them Back

The old rules are dying. The 40-hour work week, the corporate ladder, the "lean in" narrative, basically all of it was built for a world that is crumbling. And working mothers in 2026 are done playing a game they can't win.

Anna Lundberg spent a decade building a solopreneur business that runs on 20 hours a week, term-time only. She's present for her two kids. And she earns a great living coaching women who are redesigning their own careers around fractional roles, consulting gigs, and portfolio businesses.

We're not talking about creating more work-life balance. It's much more about intentional work-life design. It's about understanding that you don't have to blow up your whole life to build something different. You just have to take one step. And Anna breaks down exactly what those steps look like - taking you from positioning yourself in fractional roles to building a business model that doesn't require you to hustle, perform, or prove anything to anyone.

The corporate playbook failed working mothers. So we're writing a new one. And it starts here.

What You'll Learn

Why the corporate system is broken for mothers—and why tweaking it with flexible Fridays isn't enough anymore

What fractional work actually means—and how it's giving women stability plus flexibility without full-time corporate demands

The positioning trap senior leaders fall into—why showing "everything you've done" on your resume actually hurts you in freelance and fractional roles

How to transition while still employed—practical steps to build optionality before burnout or redundancy forces your hand

Anna's real journey—from her "hippie phase" to 5am client calls with a newborn to her current 4-hour workdays

The AI advantage for solopreneurs—how technology is finally giving independent workers capabilities that used to require entire teams

The Solopreneur Operating System—Anna's framework for designing your business, creating demand, and making delivery sustainable

The moment I lost my groove (and how I got it back) #RediscoverYourself19 Feb 202500:16:45

-Solo episode-

You ever had that moment where you realize… you’ve completely lost your flow, your excitement, your path? Everything feels grey. It's like your life is passing your by.

That was me a few years ago.

Like, you wake up one day and think, “Wait, where did I go?” That was me.

Life got busy—mama life, work, responsibilities—and somewhere along the way, I realized, I had lost myself.

Though - can you lose something that doesn't really exist anymore?

That's the other thing. We change.

But here’s something else—losing your groove doesn’t mean it’s gone. I was in there somewhere. I just felt stuck. (gosh that word is so over-used)

I had to figure out how to get back to the new me.

So in this episode, we’re talking about what it means to lose track of who you are and what's important to you, how to recognize it, and most importantly—how to get it back. Because trust me, it’s totally possible.

I had so much fun writing this feature, as it's totally ME. 100% So enjoy enjoy!

Over-performing in the supermarket #Rediscovery12 Feb 202500:17:11

Why Are We Over-performing at the Checkout? Rediscovering Yourself Beyond the Mental Load

In this episode, we unpack a moment of clarity (my clarity): standing in line at the supermarket, sick and moving slower than usual, I noticed how ingrained my habit of overperforming is – even at the checkout. From rushing to pack bags faster than the cashier to preemptively grabbing my card to avoid holding anyone up, it’s a pattern that reflects a deeper truth.

Why do so many of us – especially mothers – feel the need to overcompensate in every area of life? How much of this stems from losing touch with who we are and carrying the invisible mental load of always being “on”? Together, we’ll explore how to slow down, let go of the need to overperform, and rediscover the self we’ve lost amidst the chaos of motherhood and societal expectations.

Why women often hesitate to take risks in their careers – and how to change it05 Feb 202500:09:11

I passed up chances to showcase my work because the fear of being judged felt bigger than the opportunity itself.

Has this happened to you before?

There were times I even told myself, this is perfectly fine - I am more comfortable working behind the scenes.

When in fact, deep down I knew I was just scared.

Today’s 5-minute career hack, we’re diving into why women often hesitate to take risks in their careers – and how to start shifting that mindset.

Tune in and take the next step toward rediscovering yourself, Mama.

Love, Melie.

The Clarity Tool I Wish I had Years Ago as a Multipassionate Entrepreneur & Mama14 Jan 202600:16:52

If you are a multi-passionate mum and entrepreneur, chances are your mind is rarely quiet. Ideas, emotions, plans, to-do lists, responsibilities, and creative sparks all compete for attention at the same time. Creating clarity inside that chaos can feel almost impossible.

Especially as a multipassionate creative and mama, there is a never-ending stream of ideas and projects you want to explore.

In this episode of Mama What’s Next, Melanie shares a simple daily writing practice that has helped her create calm, focus, and direction as a multi-passionate mum and entrepreneur: Morning Pages, a tool from The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron.

She talks about why this practice feels awkward at first, why consistency matters more than perfection, and how writing by hand helps clear mental clutter, reduce anxiety, and turn scattered energy into focused action.

This episode is for multi-passionate mums and women entrepreneurs who feel pulled in many directions and want a grounded way to build a sustainable business without losing themselves in the process.

In This Episode, We Talk About:
  1. What Morning Pages are and how they work
  2. Why handwriting and stream-of-consciousness writing matter
  3. How Morning Pages reduce anxiety and negative self-talk
  4. Creating clarity amid chaos and too many ideas
  5. Why compassion and flexibility are part of the practice
  6. Turning scattered thoughts into focused action
  7. How Morning Pages support sustainable business growth
  8. Using daily writing to prioritize what truly matters

Mentioned in This Episode:
  1. The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron
  2. Morning Pages (daily stream-of-consciousness writing practice)
