With the cancellation of in-class teaching, clinical placements, university social events - it can be hard to stay focused and on top of your studies. The isolating experience of working from home was compounded when we all started studying from home. Without the social interaction and support from peers, without the inperson tutoring and guidance from our teachers, it was tough and has changed the way medicine is taught for good. In this episode of the podcast, Karim and Gabbi chat to Marley who is an MD3 student placed at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, all about what it is really like to study Med during a global pandemic. Someone has been fired for a similar situation in the past. Questions: 1. What do you do? 2. The colleague comes out of the boss’s office and tells you that they have covered for you, what do you do? 3. The manager asks you if it is because there aren’t enough staff on deck, what do you suggest? 4. What are the implications of your actions? 5. If it had been an adult who broke their arm, for example in a nursing home, would the situation be different?
