LOST ANGELES Episode 20 features Part 2 of Host Laura Craven's two-part exclusive in-depth and entertaining interview with author, preservationist, architectural historian and longtime Senior Editor at Los Angeles Magazine CHRIS NICHOLS! 

On this episode, Chris talks about researching and writing his epic “Disneyland” book for Taschen and the architectural history of the theme park, protecting atomic age bowling alleys (the subject of a future book!), the trials and tribulations of his preservation work protecting historic architecture in Southern California, and of course his popular 20+ year “Ask Chris” column in Los Angeles Magazine.

CHRIS NICHOLS has worked with the Los Angeles Conservancy Modern Committee, serving a term as chairman of the group. In addition to creating tours, exhibitions, and lectures about historic Los Angeles, Nichols has advocated for endangered buildings all over Southern California including the Cinerama Dome and the world’s oldest McDonald’s in Downey. His books include "Walt Disney’s Disneyland" for Taschen and "The Leisure Architecture of Wayne McAllister.” He writes the "Ask Chris" column in Los Angeles magazine and has served on the board of Hollywood Heritage.

LOST ANGELES Episode 10 features the second part of Host Laura Craven’s conversation with TIM LINDSAY, the superintendent of the VIRGINIA ROBINSON GARDENS, the unique historic estate in Beverly Hills.  Tim talks more about the legacy of Virginia Robinson, her life at the estate, the philanthropic programs she started that continue to benefit the community to this day, and her connections to the cultural and political world of LA through the mid to late 20th Century.  They also talk about more about the flora and fauna of the property and how the Robinson estate became an important destination for botanists, zoologists and historians from all over the world.  As their mission statement says, "The purpose of the Virginia Robinson Gardens is to preserve and promote this historically significant first estate of Beverly Hills for the education and enjoyment of the general public.”  Get a rare glimpse behind the scenes at this fascinating hidden gem of Los Angeles.

LOST ANGELES Episode 9 features the first of a two-part conversation between Host Laura Craven and special guest TIM LINDSAY, the superintendent of the VIRGINIA ROBINSON GARDENS, the unique historic landmark estate and exotic paradise in Beverly Hills.  This hidden gem “house museum,” built in 1911, was the first luxury estate in Beverly Hills and it remains an important part of the cultural and ecological history of Los Angeles.  Tim Lindsay is a fountain of historical, architectural and horticultural knowledge and he has taken care of this entire six-acre property for over 20 years.  On part 1, Laura and Tim talk about Virginia Robinson and the Robinson family, the various types of gardens around the estate, and the interior furnishings of the house itself, left intact and preserved since it became a public museum in 1977.
