Over the last 10 years players selected 1st or 3rd have a total of 32 All Star appearances while the group of players selected at number 2 have only combined for 4. Since 2011 Victor Oladipo is the only #2 pick to make an All NBA team and is responsible for 2 of the 4 All Star selections.

Joel Embiid, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Bradley Beal and Luka Doncic were all selected 3rd in their draft classes and on paper have been more successful than all of the #2 draft picks in the last 10 years combined.
