Episode 17 "Send Me Dead Flowers in the Morning" Spotlight on Elizabeth Turner and Brandonn Robinson of the Elizabeth Turner Premier.  Elizabeth is in the house this week to throw gasoline on the fire that is Oklahoma rock n' roll.  Since Covid restrictions lifted, she's been popping up around the metro area with a hell of a show, a hell of a band, and a hell of a group of some of our best talent in Oklahoma to put this whole thing together. We got a full house! Johnny Hollis and Chad Carr join us in an improptu acoustic jam of the upcoming duet "Flowers" with Elizabeth Turner. After "Flowers", Elizabeth Turner and Brandonn Robinson perform acoustic set of the songs Blood Money, Bang Bang, and You Really Got Me. I think we are going to make the "From the Couch" acoustic session a regular thing from now on.  This was a lot of fun!

On this Episode Brad Biggs and Johnathan Grissom set down with Sgt. Brian Wofford 1-7 cav, 1st cavalry division; US Army Brian, an Oklahoma native, received the Purple Heart for wounds sustained engaging the enemy in Iraq in September of 2004. By the time he came around to grasp the gravity of the situation, he was in a hospital bed having had one leg amputated, and the other in terrible shape. Brian takes us on a deep dive into his story.  From fairly humble beginnings in rural Oklahoma, to Iraq in the middle of a war.  Brain recounts the events of that day, and how life in his post-military service days have been.

EP. 13.  "High on Tulsa Heat" This week we got a helluva good one... We sit down with singer/songwriter Clayton McKinzie from the Band Gypsy Store Troubadours.  Clayton and company have deep Oklahoma roots, and are staunchly devoted to telling those stories through the power of song of living life "Where the wind comes sweeping down the plains..." We talk a wide range of stuff, including the deep Oklahoma connections to some of the biggest names and most respected artists in the history of recorded music.  And, how ironic it is that some of the biggest songwriters in the music world tend to live somewhere off the beaten path somewhere between Tulsa and here.  You can check out Clayton and the boys are currently recording the follow-up to their award winning album, "Small Town Sounds" and, you can catch them probably where you'd least expect it.  They can be found all around Oklahoma and the regional area now with live music coming back.

Greg, a Norman, OK native, grew up in San Antonio, TX.  After an Army stint and 2 combat tours, Greg decided to return to his roots in OK and dive into comedy.   With live entertainment on the skids throughout 2020, gigs dried up.  So, during this time, Greg has teamed up with OKC comedian Justin Keithly on a podcast called "Putting it Bluntly". With 2021 onward showing signs of relief, stand-up comedy is coming back.  You can catch Greg's twisted perspective on life and stuff on mics throughout Oklahoma, and on the weekly podcast "Talking Bluntly".

Also, Coret Taylor announced a spring tour Jaunt that will bring him to the center of the heartland to the Diamond Ballroom on May 26th.  Unfortunately, tickets sold out within a day of the concert announcement. But, it's good to see things moving forward and gigs opening up!
