| Tired of Judging Yourself for ADHD and Clutter? The ADHD Awareness Month Shift to Help You Drop the Self Judgment and Set Up a Home That Works for You #233 | 13 Oct 2026 | 00:20:31 | |
Why do you keep walking past the same bag by the front door when you know exactly what needs doing with it? We tell ourselves that if we cared enough, we'd have done it by now. So when the bag has sat there for six weeks, we decide we're lazy, or messy, or just rubbish at this. What we never count is how many decisions that one small job is asking for before we've even picked it up. In this episode, I'm marking ADHD Awareness Month by talking about what I wish more people understood about ADHD and clutter, including why task initiation is so much harder than it looks from the outside. The women in my recent paper reset had put off their paperwork for months, some for years, and what got them going had nothing to do with motivation. You'll learn:
Whether you're trying to work out how to start decluttering when overwhelmed or you want to understand task paralysis in someone you love, this episode is for you. Here's to asking what's making it hard, Caroline Resources Mentioned:

What if the home you keep measuring against everyone else's has been good enough for a while now? When our homes don't measure up, we tell ourselves we're not organised enough or disciplined enough, and that other women manage this better. I know because I’ve spent years using other people's homes as a measuring stick, noticing what wasn't right. In this episode, I'm talking about comparing yourself to others, and why a decluttering mindset has to start with the standard you're holding your home to. You'll learn:
If you've been searching for how to stop comparing yourself to others or overcoming perfectionism in the home you actually live in, this episode is for you. | Why Mental Load Feels So Heavy When You're Relying On Visual Reminders To Remember Everything You're Trying Not To Forget #228 | 08 Sep 2026 | 00:17:29
How many things around your home are there because you’re trying not to forget about them? The unopened letter on the counter. The parcel by the door that needs returning. The school form waiting for a signature. The insurance claim you still need to submit. Each one might seem small, but together they create a lot for your brain to keep track of. In this episode, I’m talking about the mental load of all those things we keep meaning to deal with, and why leaving a visual reminder out can feel like the safest way to remember it, especially if you have ADHD or recognise yourself in ADHD traits. You’ll learn:
And if paperwork is one of the things you’ve been telling yourself you’ll deal with later, this episode is your invitation to start noticing your own patterns with curiosity instead of judgment. Here's to noticing our patterns instead of judging them, Caroline I also touch on how this connects with Episode 193, Why Visual Reminders Turn Into Clutter, and Episode 173, Clutter Distractions, Procrasticleaning, and Mental Load. | Why Do I Keep Avoiding Things I Know I Need To Do? The ADHD Avoidance Cycle at Home and Why Getting Started Has Nothing To Do With Motivation #227 | 01 Sep 2026 | 00:12:19
Why do you keep avoiding things you know you need to do? You know what I mean. The unopened post sitting on the side. The form that would probably take five minutes. The donation bag you keep walking past. The email you still haven’t sent. Task avoidance can be so frustrating, especially when you know the job itself is small. But avoidance is not always about how long something will take. Often, it is about the emotional weight attached to the task, the uncertainty around it, or simply not knowing how to begin. In this episode, I’m talking about ADHD avoidance and why small tasks can start taking up so much mental space when we keep putting them off. If you have ADHD, avoiding tasks can also be connected to executive function and task initiation, which can make getting started feel much harder than it looks from the outside. We’ll look at what is really happening when you keep putting something off, including the avoidance cycle that so many of us get stuck in, why telling yourself to “just do it” usually doesn’t help, and how to make taking action easier. You’ll learn:
If you’re looking for help to take action the things you’ve been avoiding, this episode is for you. Have you ever felt the frustration that comes from buying something, bringing it home, and then discovering you already owned it? Maybe it was hiding at the back of a cupboard. | Scared to Let Go of Sentimental Items? The One Question That Makes ADHD Decluttering and Home Organization Easier #225 | 18 Aug 2026 | 00:16:53
What if the way you say I love you has nothing to do with flowers or a beautifully written card? In this episode, I walk you through what everyday acts of love have to do with ADHD clutter and the piles that build up at home. In this episode, I talk about a reel I posted called saying I love you in ADHD, and why so many people saw themselves in it. I talk about the ADHD traits that shape how we love and how we forget, and why clutter overwhelm gets read as proof that we don't care enough. I also talk about how much of what we own arrived here through love, and what that does to our decisions. In this episode, you'll learn:

| KonMari Method© Meets Architecture: Why Home Organization Fails When Your Home Layout Fights Your Routines with Talor Stewart #223 | 04 Aug 2026 | 00:46:59 | |
Does home clutter collect in the same few spots no matter how often you tidy? Have the usual decluttering tips stopped working on your entryway and your bathroom? You're not the only one who's cleared a room on Sunday and lost it again by Wednesday. In this episode, I'm joined by Talor Stewart, a licensed architect with more than 25 years in the industry, who created Conscious Home Design to help people design their homes around their lives. Talor and I talk about how the layout of a house sets the pattern of a day, from which way you turn when you get out of bed to how far you carry an armload of ingredients across the kitchen. He explains why entry foyers and bathrooms take the heaviest hit, and why that comes down to size and adjacency more than discipline. We also talk about where his work meets the decluttering work I do, because both point towards a home where everything has a place to go back to. In this episode, you'll learn:

Is clutter actually trying to tell you something? We've been taught that a tidy home is the goal, but what if the piles around your house are providing valuable information instead of proving you've failed? I share the 4 most common messages clutter can reveal and how each one points to a completely different solution. We explore when you simply own too much, when your organizing systems need to change, when ADHD clutter is actually supporting your daily life, and when emotional clutter is tied to difficult decisions rather than disorganization. | How Overwhelmed Moms Can Reduce Mom Burnout, Let Go of Perfectionism, and Create a Calmer, More Organized Home with Libby Ward #216 | 16 Jun 2026 | 00:46:01
Have you ever looked around at the mess, the endless to-do list, the forgotten permission slip, and wondered why motherhood feels so much harder than everyone else makes it look? So many of us are carrying invisible expectations about what a “good mom” should do, how her home should look, and how much she should be able to handle. Today, I’m joined by Libby Ward, author of Honest Motherhood: On Losing My Mind and Finding Myself, for a beautifully honest conversation about motherhood, perfectionism, clutter, and the invisible pressure so many women carry. Libby shares what it looked like for her to slowly let go of the version of motherhood she thought she had to perform and start building a life that actually worked for her, her children, her nervous system, and her real capacity. We talk about the “shoulds” that creep into overwhelmed moms, the mental load of motherhood, the energy it takes to make everything look fine from the outside, and why sometimes the most loving thing we can do for our families is lower the standards that are quietly exhausting us. In this episode, you’ll learn:
This is for all the mothers who have ever wondered why she finds it all so hard, or who feels tired from trying to hold everything together. Whether you're dealing with mom burnout or learning the art of letting go of perfection, you'll walk away feeling seen, understood, and encouraged. | Aspirational Clutter: How to Finally Let Go of Unused Items Without the Guilt (and Lighten Your Mental Load) #215 | 09 Jun 2026 | 00:11:56
Sometimes the hardest clutter to let go of is not the thing itself. It is the version of ourselves we hoped it would help us become. The yoga mat for the daily practice we imagined. The craft supplies for the creative afternoons we thought we would have. The kitchen gadget, the unread books, the course, the clothes, the resources, the hobby equipment, all waiting for a future life that may not actually fit who we are today. And that can feel surprisingly emotional. Because aspirational clutter is often tied to hope, good intentions, identity, and the pressure to become a better, calmer, more organized version of ourselves. In this episode, you’ll learn:
If you have shelves, drawers, boxes, or cupboards filled with things for a future version of yourself, this episode is an invitation to look at them with honesty and compassion. Because life changes. | Why Decluttering Your Home Doesn’t Make You Feel Ready for Guests (and what actually helps) #209 | 28 Apr 2026 | 00:14:07
You’ve decluttered. You’ve spent time organizing. You’ve tried to stay on top of the tidying. So why does your heart still race at the thought of someone coming over? Why does it still feel like you’re not ready? This is something I experienced myself very recently, and it caught me completely off guard. Because here’s the truth no one talks about. Decluttering your home doesn’t automatically switch off the stress. It doesn’t instantly undo years of pressure, overwhelm, and that feeling of being judged. And if you’ve ever felt that sudden panic when someone mentions visiting, even after all your effort… You are not alone. In this episode, I’m getting really honest about what’s actually going on beneath the surface. Why your brain still reacts as if nothing has changed. And what actually helps you feel calm, in control, and ready enough. Because this isn’t just about clutter. It’s about overcoming overwhelm. It’s about how your nervous system responds. And it’s about creating a version of home organization that works for real life and real family dynamics. Not perfection. Not pressure. Just something that feels manageable and intentional. Inside this episode, I talk about: • Why organizing and tidying alone don’t fix the emotional side of clutter Have you ever felt like your home needs days of work before anyone can walk through the door? Or like no matter how much you declutter, it’s never quite enough? This episode will help you understand why. And more importantly, what to do instead. Because your home doesn’t need to be perfect. It just needs to support you. And once that shift happens, everything starts to feel different. Press play and let’s talk about what actually helps. Most people think they need to buy something to get organized. More baskets. More containers. More storage. But what if that’s the very thing keeping you stuck? Why does your home feel so much harder than it should? You’re not lazy. Your home is asking too much of you. And most of it… you don’t even realise. In this episode, I’m sharing something that really hit me while I was packing for a trip to the UK and thinking about what it’s like to live in a holiday home. Have you ever stopped and thought about your future self… and whether she’ll thank you for what you’re doing today? Or does it feel like you’re just trying to get through the day, surrounded by clutter, constantly tidying, and never quite staying on top of your home? In this episode of Living Clutter Free Forever, I’m sharing the audio from a live training I ran on procrastination and task initiation. The training was originally created for people with ADHD, but the truth is these struggles show up for so many overwhelmed women trying to manage their homes, their families, and the invisible mental load of everyday life. This episode will help you understand what’s really happening in your brain when you avoid small tasks and why traditional advice like “just be more disciplined” often makes things worse. Your home isn’t a disaster. But it never quite feels calm either. You tidy. You organize. You declutter a drawer. And somehow… the clutter builds back up again. Sound familiar? In this episode, I’m talking about the real reason daily clutter keeps appearing in your home. Not the big dramatic stuff. The small, random, category-less items that quietly pile up on your counters, stairs, and tables. The bits. And why does it feel like you can never quite get ahead? This is not about throwing everything away. Decluttering sentimental clutter does not feel like tidying. And if you’ve ever picked up a card, a drawing, a tiny object from years ago and suddenly felt a lump in your throat… you know exactly what I mean. Why does something so small feel so big? In this episode, I unpack what I’ve been seeing online about ADHD and sentimental clutter and I go much deeper. Yes, there is truth in what’s being said. But it’s often oversimplified. And oversimplifying something this emotional does not help you declutter. I break down the three real layers that make letting go feel so painful. Because this isn’t about being messy. If you’re overwhelmed by clutter and struggling with sentimental items… This episode is for you. Do you ever feel overwhelmed by clutter in your own home? Have you ever stopped to ask yourself whether the way your home feels is actually affecting how you feel? In this episode, I explore something we don’t talk about enough. Decluttering is not just about tidying. It is not about perfect shelves or aesthetic organization. It is about self-love. Because here is the truth. Every item in your home carries responsibility. Every gift. Every purchase. Every “just in case.” And when we do not declutter intentionally, that responsibility builds. Quietly. Slowly. Until it turns into overwhelm. If you feel stuck in clutter… This episode is for you. I share why declutter strategies are not just practical tools. They are protective tools. I talk about the hidden weight of clutter and how organization can support your nervous system instead of draining it. This is not about throwing everything away. It is about being intentional. It is about overcoming overwhelm one small shift at a time. It is about choosing what stays in your space and what leaves. And most importantly, it is about creating a home that supports you and your family instead of silently exhausting you. Inside this episode, I’ll help you rethink: Because decluttering is not deprivation. It is protection. If you are ready to feel lighter… Press play. I share what I’m seeing right now while supporting women going through cancer treatment, living with chronic illness, or dealing with completely depleted energy levels. This isn’t about perfect home organization. We explore why clutter can feel overwhelming during illness, how organizing can actually become an act of self-care, and why small, thoughtful declutter strategies can make daily life easier without pushing yourself. I also talk about something many women struggle with. Asking for help. If you’ve ever felt guilty because your home doesn’t look the way you think it should. This episode is for you. I also reference an earlier episode with my friend Jane, episode 24, where we talked about adapting your home while living with serious illness. Jane was living with MS and using a wheelchair at the time. That conversation is still incredibly powerful, and I’ve linked it below. You’ll also hear why getting your paperwork and everyday systems in order now can support you and your family in ways you might not expect. This is about decluttering with compassion. | Why decluttering doesn’t last (and the one thing that helps clutter stay gone) #196 | 27 Jan 2026 | 00:22:24
Decluttering often gets stuck right at the end. You’ve sorted. You’ve made decisions. You’ve created space. Why does decluttering stall at the final step? In this episode, I talk about why decluttering so often stops right before the finish line and what actually helps you move past that point in a way that feels intentional and realistic. But this episode isn’t just about strategies. It’s also about real people and real progress. I’m sharing wins from inside my community, from my online membership, and from conversations I’ve had on Instagram and Facebook. The quiet wins. The ones that don’t always look dramatic, but completely change how a home feels. I’m also answering questions people have asked me and coaching through the things they’re stuck on. The kind of questions that come up again and again, because no one is ever struggling alone. If you’ve decluttered but still feel surrounded by clutter, this episode is for you. We’re talking about home organization that supports your energy, not drains it. Because decluttering isn’t just about letting go of stuff. Are you doing all the work but skipping the final step? | Why letting go of clutter feels so hard and how to make decisions with less stress #195 | 20 Jan 2026 | 00:40:21
In this episode, I’m joined by professional organizer and life coach Tracy Hoth to explore why letting go of clutter feels so hard, why decision-making can feel emotionally heavy, and how to declutter in a calmer, more supportive way without pressure or overwhelm. Decluttering isn’t just about tidying your home. If decluttering feels exhausting, emotional, or overwhelming, there is nothing wrong with you. How do you declutter without second-guessing every decision? In this conversation, we talk about decluttering and organizing from a completely different angle. This episode will help you rethink home organization, understand why clutter feels so emotionally loaded, and explore declutter strategies that work with your nervous system instead of against it. Because creating an organized home is not about perfection. You’ll hear about gentle ways to start tidying when you feel stuck, how to make decisions with less stress, and why overcoming overwhelm starts with how you see yourself, not how much you own. If you’ve been craving a calmer approach to organizing, this episode will help you take the first step without pushing yourself too far. | 3 Acceptance Shifts That Make Decluttering Feel Lighter (even in hard seasons) #194 | 13 Jan 2026 | 00:17:09
Decluttering often doesn’t get stuck at the beginning. You’ve sorted. So why is the clutter still there? Inspired by International Day of Acceptance, this conversation is a reminder that real change starts when we stop fighting our reality and start working with it. And that idea shows up everywhere when it comes to decluttering, organizing, and trying to keep a home running without burning out. I’m talking about why decluttering so often stalls when it comes to actually getting things out of the house and why pushing harder usually makes it more stressful, not more effective. So many women reach this stage and blame themselves. But what if that’s not the problem at all? This episode looks at decluttering and home organization through a different lens. One that’s especially important if you’re overwhelmed, a woman with ADHD, parenting neurodivergent kids, supporting other family members, or feeling like tidying has become another thing on your mental load. Instead of focusing on doing more, the conversation centres on intentional decluttering, realistic organizing, and declutter strategies that support overcoming overwhelm rather than adding to it. It’s about home organization that works for real life, real energy, and real families. Have you ever wondered why tidying feels so hard even when you’re trying? You’ll come away with a clearer understanding of why decluttering gets stuck at the end and what actually helps you move forward. Not by doing more. But by doing things differently. Expect a calmer perspective on clutter, less self-blame, and practical insight you can apply to your own home and family. If clutter has been weighing on you. This one is for you. Have you ever left something out on purpose so you wouldn’t forget it… You’re not lazy. In this episode, I’m talking about the fine line between intentional visual reminders and everyday clutter. The kind that builds up quietly and then suddenly feels overwhelming. Especially in busy homes. Especially when you’re juggling family life, mental load, and a brain that works fast and forgets faster. Is leaving things out actually helping you remember I share a real conversation from my own kitchen that sparked this episode and why it highlighted something so many women struggle with when it comes to decluttering, organizing, and home organization. We dive into why “I’ll put it away later” so often backfires and how even small habits can either support your organization or completely derail it. This episode is about:
Because the goal isn’t a spotless house. What if your reminders didn’t live on every surface? If you’re working on decluttering, organizing, and building habits that actually stick, this episode will give you a fresh way to look at how your home organization supports your brain, not fights it. 🎧 Press play and let’s rethink how we remember things without creating more mess. Have you ever decluttered something, decided it was leaving your house The same box. You’ve decluttered. So why does it still feel unfinished? In this episode of Living Clutter Free Forever, I’m talking about a stage of decluttering and home organization that almost nobody names. The moment when clutter is already gone in your mind, but still physically in your home. This episode was inspired by a real question that came up during a live online decluttering session, and then echoed again in a one-to-one call with a member. Different homes. Same struggle. This isn’t about motivation. It’s about why organizing stalls right at the end, and what actually helps. Inside the episode, I gently unpack why donation and selling piles linger, why this stage feels heavier than expected, and how the mental load of organizing, tidying, and managing clutter often lands with women. I also share four realistic declutter strategies that help things finally leave your house, without overthinking, perfection, or added stress.
