Naomi learns that the land owner who is so kind to Ruth is none other than Boaz. Boaz is blood relation to Naomi's deceased husband, and therefore eligible to marry Ruth. She seeks the Lord, and puts things in motion.

Ruth and Naomi begin their new life in Bethlehem. But what are two poor widows to do for food? Yahweh always has a plan if we are in the right frame of mind and spirit to follow it. Listen as provision comes in abundance because of a little hard work, and obedience.

In this episode we wrap up our study through the book of Judges. It's a very heavy and sobering account of sexual abuse, perversion, revenge and extreme violence. All things that occur when humans continually feed our own desires and ignore the plan God has for our lives.

As we continue our study through the book of Judges, we look into the cautionary story of Micah, his mother, a derelict priest named Jonathan, and their wickedness in concocting a religion that seems right to them, but is far removed from God.

In this episode we consider the tragic end of Samson's life. We discuss what it means to seek obedience, to choose disobedience, and how those two choices affect how God uses us.

As we continue our study of Judges, we are introduced to Samson. A man known for is superhuman strength, it's his constant disobedience, shattering his vow to God, that defines a life of turmoil.

We finish our teaching and discussion on the life of Jephthah, gain insight on why the scripture's lack of ink on three more judges is a good thing and finish the episode with the birth of Samson.

Having fled Saul's murderous rage against him, David meets up with Jonathan. They conspire to learn if Saul has dropped his vendetta against David. Sadly he has not, even trying to kill his own son, Jonathan for befriending David. As they meet for the final time, David learns of Saul's intentions to stop at nothing to kill him. In desperation, David allows fear and doubt to cloud judgement.

David returns from slaying Goliath as the conquering hero. As the people of Israel pour into the streets, singing songs of David's praise, Saul becomes enraged. He repeatedly tries to kill David in his own household, set's up his daughter as a trap, and sends the young warrior on an impossible mission. Yet, David once again returns victorious as Yahweh preserves the young man He has anointed as King.

The young Samuel continues to grow in the Lord as he serves at the Tabernacle. He audibly hears Yahweh for the first time, and delivers his first prophesy to Eli.

Meanwhile, Hophni, Phineas and the Israeli army desecrate the Ark of the Covenant as they carry it into battle with the Philistines,

The child Samuel begins his service to the Tabernacle, even as Eli's sons, Hophni and Phinneas, make a mockery of Yahweh and the sacrifices to Him.

We begin our study through the books of Samuel. This week we learn about Samuel's mother, Hannah and her desire to have a child. In her faithfulness she commits her son to the service of the temple, establishing him as Israels last Judge, and one of the early prophets.

The conclusion of the Book of Ruth. Boaz becomes the kinsman redeemer to Ruth, marries her, and they have a baby boy that will become the father of Jesse, who is the father of King David.

The Israeli army is camped across the valley from the Philistines. The Philistine champion, Goliath of Gath, a giant army unto himself challenges the Hebrews-their best man against him in a decisive battle. One unlikely boy rises to the occasion, where seasoned warriors fail.

Yahweh grieves the day He made Saul King and removes His Spirit from him. This allows a spirit of trouble, rage, anxiety and madness to torment King Saul. Meanwhile, God tells Samuel He has appointed a new king in Bethlehem. One that will pursue God's own heart. At the house of Jesse, the young shepherd boy, David, is anointed. In an attempt to ease Saul's ravings, his staff bring in a skilled harp player to provide music an soothe him. A young man from Bethlehem, named David.

Through Saul's obedience to his own flesh, his own power and his own desires in sparing King Agag, we take a personal look into our own flesh and the things we reject God for.

As Jonathan comes into his own as a warrior and a man obedient to God, so his father proves to be the king Samuel warned them about.

Samuel gives his final public address, legitimizing Saul as the king and leader of Israel. He establishes the fact he was faithful to the people of Israel as well as to God and could be held blameless, yet he issues one final warning to turn their hearts to Yahweh. He thus steps away from serving as judge while continuing to serve as priest.

Saul gathers in personal troops for himself and his son Jonathan. Still subjected to the authority of the Philistines, Jonathan sets off a chain of events reigniting war with them, as Saul assumes priestly authority that is not his.

As Saul encounters Samuel for the first time, Yahweh gives him three signs. This confirms his appointment as King of Israel. In order to win the hearts and minds of his people, Saul launches a cunning military plan to route an enemy attack. With his leadership skill established, Saul steps into his place on the throne.

Samuel now serves the nation as defacto leader as well as prophet and priest. He appoints his sons as judges over Israel, though they rule over the people with bribes, oppression, and disobedience to Yahweh. The people come to Samuel and demand he appoint a king, just like the nations around them. Though it is not God's plan, he directs Samuel to give the people what they wish for, and appoints Saul, the first King of Israel.

What's an emmrod? You'll find out, and learn they are something you never want have. The Philistines suffer the consequences of stealing the Ark of the Covenant, and endeavor to send it back to Israel. Once back, the Israelites choose to handle it in a way not spelled out in the Levitical law and suffer consequences of their own. Samuel, now a man and leading Israel as prophet and priest, calls for a national repentence.
