Ep 235 Heather Johll's Transformational Healing Beyond Weight Loss 19 May 202500:32:44

Bernie welcomes Heather Johll for an open and deeply vulnerable conversation about healing and transformation in midlife. Heather, currently Vice President at Ascension Health with over twenty years of leadership experience, shares her remarkable journey of reinvention—from reaching a weight of 385 pounds and struggling with serious health issues, to making a life-changing career shift and reclaiming her physical, emotional, and mental well-being.

Heather opens up about how she learned to embrace not just weight loss but a new sense of self. Through candid reflections on overcoming personal trauma and rediscovering joy, Heather exemplifies what it means to pursue not just an acceptable, but an exceptional version of yourself.

3 🗝️ Takeaways

1️⃣ Reinvention requires courage—and sacrifice. To step into your future, it costs you your current self. Being willing to “deconstruct” who you were is the only way to grow.

2️⃣ Lasting change is holistic. The external breakthroughs (like weight loss or career pivots) are only sustainable when you address the underlying mental and emotional challenges. Heather found that investing in counseling and mental health was as important as gym time or eating right.

3️⃣ Fulfillment comes from being exceptionally you.
After years of striving and self-improvement, Heather now finds joy in simple pleasures—morning routines, movement, and authentic connections. Her goal is no longer to be an “acceptable” version of herself but to be the exceptional version.

Main Takeaway:
Heather’s story is a testament to the power of vulnerability and intentional transformation. No matter where you are in your journey, becoming your most fulfilled self means embracing the courage to change, investing in your mental health, and showing up authentically.

Ep 234 How Men Over 40 Can Get Fit and Stay Strong with Funk Roberts12 May 202500:45:11

In this inspiring conversation, host Bernie Borges sits down with fitness expert Funk Roberts, a bona fide authority on helping men over 40 reclaim their health, fitness, and vitality. As a former pro athlete, best-selling author, and the creator of the renowned 40 Alpha program providing community for more than 10,000 men, Funk brings a no-nonsense, passionate approach to midlife wellness for men over 40. Here's what Funk unpacked on this episode.

The Six Pillars of Health and Fitness for Men Over 40

Mindset

  • The importance of a strong “why” behind health/fitness changes
  • Techniques for self-examination: asking “why” five times, writing/talking through personal reasons

Sleep

  • Emphasis on 7–9 hours of nightly sleep for hormonal health, muscle repair, mood, and stress management
  • Simple actionable sleep routines

Recovery

  • Physical recovery: the critical role of mobility, yoga, and injury prevention as we age
  • Mental recovery: breathwork, meditation, gratitude practices, and letting go of emotional baggage

Nutrition

  • Dangers of popular diets (keto, low fat, low carb) for testosterone and overall male health
  • Building balanced meals: complex carbs (fuel for metabolism and muscle), protein (muscle maintenance), healthy fats (testosterone), and micronutrient-rich vegetables/fruits

Workouts

  • What not to do: excessive cardio, old-school body part splits
  • What works: total body, metabolic/circuit training (20–30 minutes, 3–4 times per week)
  • Integrating abs/core, stretching, and prioritizing recovery over more frequent training

Supplementation

  • Rationale behind supplement use: nutrient depletion in modern foods
  • Essential supplements: whey protein, magnesium, vitamin D3/K2, Omega-3, multivitamin, probiotics, creatine

Main takeaway:
No matter your age or where you’re starting from, it’s possible to reclaim your health and fitness. It starts by getting your mindset right and building sustainable habits around the key pillars of fitness. Consistency and community support are what allow you to thrive in your 50s, 60s, 70s, and beyond.

Ep 225 How to Reframe Business Principles for Personal Growth in Midlife 10 Mar 202500:32:10

Explore Executive Coaching with Bernie Borges
Book a Free Discovery Call

On this Maximum episode, I'm joined by Brent Pattison, a seasoned consultant with a passion for guiding small business owners toward their unique vision of success. Brent and I explore a fascinating system he's developed called the "three P's," which is employed in business as People, Product, and Profit, but can be metaphorically applied to enhance our personal lives, particularly in our midlife seasons.

🗝️ 3 How the three P's enable personal growth:

1️⃣ People: The framework revolves around managing relationships and understanding their purpose. It's crucial to ask in each relationship, "What's in it for them?" to enhance connection and communication.

2️⃣ Product: In life, your "product" is the experience you create for others. Self-awareness plays a key role in ensuring these interactions are positive and impactful. It's about creating memorable experiences!

3️⃣ Profit: Fulfillment is our version of profit. Just as profit fuels a business, fulfillment fuels our lives, giving us the energy and motivation to pursue our passions and nurture relationships.

Main Takeaway: The three P's system, originally designed for business, can be applied to your personal life to enhance fulfillment and relationships. By reframing these business principles into a personal growth strategy, you can create more meaningful and fulfilling experiences both personally and professionally.

Ep 135 Age Diversity in the Workplace is Good for Employers and Employees23 Nov 202300:14:41

Welcome to my takeaway from episode 134, my conversation with Maureen Wiley Clough.

Happy Thanksgiving if you're seeing this on November 23, 2023, in the U.S. I am very thankful to you for listening to the Midlife Fulfilled podcast!

Here is a recap of the three key discussion points from my conversation with Maureen Wiley Clough on ep 134.

1️⃣ Age diversity in the workplace contributes to innovation and better outcomes.
2️⃣ The tech industry, in particular, has a bias towards youth.
3️⃣ Awareness is the first step towards change.

As with any movement, awareness is always the first step. According to PwC, only 8 percent of organizations include age as a part of their D&I strategies.

The benefits of an age-diverse workplace are obvious. There are many examples of this.

What if SHRM created a Hall of Shame that lists companies with the worst age diversity records? No leader will want to be on this list.

Imagine if LinkedIn offered a digital badge that allows anyone to display “I support age diversity in the workplace.”

My takeaway and challenge to you is building awareness of age diversity as an economic imperative is the way to abolish age discrimination in the workplace.

Do you have examples of age diversity in the workplace that you can share as success stories? If you do, post about them on LinkedIn calling attention to age diversity as well as the successful outcome.

Ep 134 Winning the Battle Against Age Discrimination in the Workplace20 Nov 202300:32:38

On episode 134 Maureen Wiley Clough joins me for an eye-opening conversation about the reality of age discrimination in the workplace. Maureen was called a "dino" in the workplace at age 37. This was a wake-up call for Maureen.

Here are 3 key discussion points from our conversation:

1️⃣ Age diversity in the workplace contributes to innovation and better outcomes. A wide range of ages and experiences brings different perspectives and ideas to the table. It's an economic imperative for companies to embrace age diversity and create an inclusive environment.

2️⃣ The tech industry in particular, along with the corporate world, has a bias towards youth. Many young startups tend to hire and surround themselves with a predominantly young workforce. This devalues the experience and wisdom that older employees can bring. Companies should actively seek to include older workers and benefit from their wealth of knowledge.

3️⃣ Awareness is the first step towards change. By openly discussing age bias and discrimination, we can create a supportive community for those who have experienced it and work towards finding solutions. Let's celebrate getting older, challenge ageism, and improve the representation of all age groups in the tech industry and beyond.

Studies mentioned by Maureen.

Ep 133 How Collaboration Can Lead to Profound Impact in Your Life16 Nov 202300:15:07

This is my takeaway episode from my conversation with renowned Kenyan Pediatrician, Dr. Juliana Otieno on episode 132.

Here are 3 key discussion points from our conversation:

1️⃣ The Value of Education: Dr. Otieno's story highlights the transformative power of education for girls in her community in Kenya. Secondary education plays a vital role in shaping their future by offering them opportunities to thrive economically and in other ways.

2️⃣ Giving Back: Dr. Otieno has always been driven by a strong desire to give back to her community. Through her Rusalia Resource Foundation, she is providing high school education to economically disadvantaged girls in Kenya, breaking the cycle of poverty and empowering them to create positive change.

3️⃣ Power of Collaboration: By sharing her vision with her cohort at the Inspired Leadership Initiative program at Notre Dame, Dr. Otieno not only gained valuable assistance but also multiplied the impact of her foundation.

My challenge to you is don't go it alone. Collaboration can amplify your impact, whether in pursuing your legacy fulfillment or any aspect of your midlife journey.

Ep 132 A Legacy of Leadership and Philanthropy Inspired by ILI Fellows | ILI 5 of 513 Nov 202300:35:18

On this episode, I had the privilege of interviewing retired pediatrician, Dr. Juliana Otieno in part 5 of 5 of the immersive storytelling series with the Inspired Leadership Initiative (ILI) at the University of Notre Dame.

From her childhood on a Kenyan sugarcane farm to her inspiring journey in medicine and education, Dr. Otieno's life story is as captivating as it is impactful. She shares her passion as an advocate for education for girls in Kenya, her involvement in the ILI program at Notre Dame, and how it influenced her founding of the Rusalia Resource Foundation to enable girls from economically disadvantaged families in Kenya to get a high school education.

Dr. Otieno served as the only pediatrician in a regional hospital in Kenya, ensuring proper care for children despite significant challenges related to healthcare access. Her commitment to giving back to her community is heroic.

She also became the CEO of that same hospital in Kenya, taking on immense responsibility to ensure the well-being of children in the community.

Her involvement in the ILI program at Notre Dame allowed her to connect with a diverse cohort, attend classes, and share her own story with others.

Through the ILI program, Dr. Otieno was inspired to start the Rusalia Resource Foundation. The foundation now supports 30 children and aims to increase that number to 36.

Dr. Otieno has received tremendous support from the ILI community in the U.S., helping with registration and fundraising. The foundation's impact is truly a testament to the power of collaboration and shared vision.

Dr. Otieno's story illustrates the incredible impact one person can have when driven by a deep sense of purpose and commitment to being a force for good. Her work continues to be a source of inspiration to many around the world.

When you listen to this episode you will appreciate how her story exemplifies the impact of the ILI program on one person's devotion to leadership and legacy.

Ep 131 Why Legacy Fulfillment Should be Your Top Priority in Midlife 09 Nov 202300:12:19

In this takeaway episode, I explain why my recent experience at the Inspire Leadership Initiative (ILI) annual speaker series event at the University of Notre Dame left such a lasting impression on me as I ponder my own legacy fulfillment. And, I offer you a challenge on this topic I urge you to consider.

Here are 3 key discussion points from episode 130:

1️⃣ A Strong Sense of Community: The ILI program fosters an incredible sense of community among its participants. It was inspiring to witness the deep connections and rapport among the fellows and alumni. They truly become a family, and that support continues long after the program ends.

2️⃣ Life Transformation: The ILI program goes beyond career guidance. Participants experience a profound transformation in mind, body, and spirit. They gain clarity and purpose not just for their careers but for their entire next chapter in life.

3️⃣ Being a Force for Good: The University of Notre Dame's motto, "a force for good," resonates throughout the ILI program. Everyone involved is driven to make a positive impact in the world. This mindset becomes the guiding North Star for the entire community.

Tune in to this episode to discover how I came to realize that legacy fulfillment can be the ultimate midlife pillar for us in midlife. I suggest that it is analogous to self-actualization in Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs.

I submit that legacy fulfillment is immutable – nothing or no one can take it away from you.

My challenge to you is to ask yourself where are you in your legacy fulfillment journey?

Ep 129 Finding Purpose and Fulfillment by Using Your God-Given Talents02 Nov 202300:14:14

In this takeaway episode, I discuss the power of using your God-given talents from my conversation with Tim Washer on episode 128. Here are three key discussion points and my summary takeaway.

1️⃣ Making a connection: Tim explains how a simple moment of humor can lead to meaningful relationships and build trust.

2️⃣ The power of laughter: It's not just about entertainment; laughter can be a powerful tool for building trust and creating positive connections.

3️⃣ Finding purpose: Tim overcame resistance and fear to find his true calling, combining comedy and communication for a fulfilling career.

Tim shared his experience stemming from a devotional that asked him to identify his spiritual gift. His response to the question was making people laugh, ie comedy. The follow-up question is on a score of 1 to 10, how would he grade himself on how good of a steward he was using this spiritual gift? This question really shook Tim. He had no choice but to score himself zero.

This reminded me of the story, known as the Parable of the Talents. 📖 In this parable from the Bible, Jesus tells a story that teaches a valuable lesson about using our talents wisely. The message is clear: faithfully using your talents is expected and rewarded, while neglecting or burying them is not acceptable.

Whether or not you're a Bible reader, the lesson still applies. We all have natural-born talents, and it's our responsibility to use them for good and make the most of our abilities.

So, my challenge to you is this: On a scale of 1 to 10, how well are you using your God-given talents? It's a question that Tim asked himself and that I asked myself too. I share my answer on this takeaway.

It's never too late to step into your calling and find fulfillment using our God-given talents.

Ep 127 Personal Development is Misunderstood Possibly to Your Detriment 26 Oct 202300:13:07

Welcome to episode 127, a takeaway episode from my conversation with Dr. Richard Mitchell on episode 126 about the power of personal development.  Three key points we discussed are:

1️⃣ Finding Fulfillment in Career Transitions
2️⃣ The Impact of Burnout on Your Personal Life
3️⃣ Pursuing Personal Development

I am convinced that personal development is not an option, especially as we navigate through our midlife seasons.  But, personal development is misunderstood. I think many people don’t really understand the meaning of personal development.

When we invest in our personal development, we’re investing in the legacy we will leave. It doesn’t have to be through a charity. It could be just in the way you treat others through a new lens as a result of self-discovery, in a personal development experience.

My Challenge to You

If you’re dealing with a lack of growth in your life, give yourself permission to explore personal development. Don’t allow some ill-conceived stigma to prevent you from taking a step to find a resource to help you on your personal development journey. You’ll be glad you did, and I can assure you those whom you impact through your growth will also be glad you took that action step.

Ep 224 The Business Case for Empathy: More Trust, Growth & Impact03 Mar 202500:34:19

Explore Executive Coaching with Bernie Borges
Book a Free Discovery Call

On this Maximum episode, Bernie speaks with the esteemed Mimi Nicklin. Mimi, an internationally best-selling author and the force behind the platform Empathy Everywhere, explains the powerful yet often misunderstood power of empathy.

🗝️ 3 The key discussion points from our conversation:

1️⃣ Empathy is a Skill Set: Mimi shared her intriguing perspective on empathy, defining it as a skill set rather than just an innate trait. This reframing allows us to understand empathy as something we can actively develop and nurture rather than a fixed attribute. Understanding empathy as a skill empowers us to cultivate it intentionally, enhancing both personal and professional relationships.

2️⃣ Global Perspectives on Empathy: Drawing on her global experiences, Mimi highlighted how empathy varies across cultures. She noted that collectivist societies tend to exhibit higher natural empathy due to communal living, as opposed to the individualistic tendencies in Western cultures. This perspective helps us appreciate the cultural influences on empathy and its application in diverse environments.

3️⃣ Empathy is Good for Business: Mimi emphasized the critical role of empathy in leadership, linking it directly to measurable business success, citing several key metrics positively impacted by empathy. Leaders who practice empathy create environments where employees feel valued and understood.

Main Takeaway: The standout revelation from our conversation with Mimi is her assertion that empathy is a skill set. In business, empathy in action performs with indisputable metrics that appeal to the C-Suite.

Ep 125 Finding Midlife Mastery through The Joy of Having Fun 19 Oct 202300:14:44

Welcome to episode 125, a takeaway episode for my conversation with Heather Nawrocki on episode 124.  Three key points we discussed are:

1️⃣ Social connection is good for you.
2️⃣ Fun is for everyone at any age.
3️⃣ Fun across the 5 pillars of midlife.

I am all about helping you aim for the most fulfillment you can achieve across the five pillars of midlife: health, fitness, career, relationships, and legacy.

I think you should aim to have fun in each of these five pillars. If that sounds a little strange or maybe out of reach, I want to give you something to think about.

Each of these five pillars takes intention.

It takes intention to be mindful of your health.
It takes intention to be devoted to a fitness routine.
It takes intention to have a meaningful career.
It takes intention to have meaningful and healthy relationships.
It takes intention to plan to leave your legacy in this world.

What if we intentionally aimed to integrate at least some sort of fun into each pillar? What would that look like? Even though I can’t suggest a one size fits all approach, on this takeaway episode I take a stab at what this could look like.

Tune in and discover the possibilities of your own personal approach to integrating fun into each of the five pillars of midlife.

This week I feature Heather Nawrocki, Vice President of Fun and Fulfillment at AARP on the importance of social connection by having fun in your midlife journey. Here are three key discussion points from our conversation.

1️⃣ Social connection is good for you! Research shows that having fun enables connecting with people and it's good for your health, longevity, happiness, and a sense of contentment. No matter how you make social connections, fun plays a vital role in living our best lives as we age.

2️⃣ Fun across the 5 pillars of midlife. Fun isn't limited to just one aspect of our lives. It can touch the key pillars of midlife, including health, fitness, career, relationships, and legacy. From exercising together to volunteering, fun can touch all these areas and bring fulfillment into your life in midlife.

3️⃣ Fun is for everyone at any age. Contrary to popular belief, fun is not just for children. People at any age, especially in our 40s, 50s, 60s, and beyond are recognizing the importance of play and fun in our lives. Fun enriches social connections, improves brain health, and creates a sense of community.

Ep 123 Unlocking Career Fulfillment through Volunteer Service12 Oct 202300:12:54

Welcome to episode 123, a takeaway episode sparked by my conversation with David Goad on episode 122.

🌟 Key Discussion Points from Episode 122
Embracing Transitions: David navigated three corporate layoffs and transitions, dealing with emotions ranging from fear to anger to discovering a new opportunity.

Recognizing Your Talents: A chorus of "You missed your calling" led David to recognize his intrinsic talents in speaking, coaching, and entertaining.

Learning from Mistakes: The corporate world is full of challenges, providing a treasure trove of invaluable lessons and opportunities for growth.

Pursuing Volunteer Service and Business in Separate Lanes: David demonstrated how immersing yourself in volunteer service can rejuvenate your spirit.

🎯 My Key Takeaway
When you devote time and energy to a cause that you believe in, it gives you a sense of purpose. Volunteer service provides a return to you in some way that you usually don't expect.

In my own journey, serving as the chairperson for a local high school’s Business Academy brought me returns through experiential gains in leadership, planning, delegation, conflict resolution, and spokespersonship. This experience spilled into my professional life, unexpectedly enriching it.

💡 My Challenge to You
If an opportunity to serve has knocked on your door, have you welcomed it or shied away, potentially missing a valuable, opportunity? Volunteer service may not deliver a paycheck, but it offers a sense of fulfillment, purpose, and joy derived from making a difference.

If you’re already committed to a volunteer service role, kudos to you! Maybe, this episode could be the nudge for someone in your circle to step onto their own path of volunteer service.

Ep 121 Creating Joy Drives Purpose and Fulfillment in Midlife05 Oct 202300:15:10

Welcome to episode 121 a takeaway episode from my conversation with Eric Wiechart on episode 120.

Eric and I had a very meaningful conversation about his experience in the Inspired Leadership Initiative (ILI) at the University of Notre Dame. Here are three key discussion points from our conversation:

1️⃣ Embrace Small Businesses
2️⃣ Overcome Transition Challenges
3️⃣ The Power of Cohort

Throughout his career, Eric acquired multiple small businesses/startups and ran them successfully. His most recent business, a glass company was transitioned to his daughter through a seven-year transition plan.

Eric didn’t want another idea for a business, or a job. Eric realized that creating joy for others gives him joy.

But, if you’ve been doing something for decades and you reach a point where you ask yourself, am I creating joy, maybe the answer to that question is not what you want it to be. It wasn’t for Eric Wiechart.

Eric realized that at this stage in his life, creating joy is his purpose. He’s doing it through many activities, not just one. He’s advising and coaching, as well as maintaining a sense of creating joy in all his relationships.

My challenge for you is to ask yourself, what role does creating joy for others play in your midlife fulfillment journey?

Ep 120 A Story of Transition from Business Owner to Leadership Coach | ILI 4 of 502 Oct 202300:32:07

Welcome to episode 120, an immersive storytelling episode about transitioning from business owner to leadership coach brought to you by the Inspired Leadership Initiative (ILI) at the University of Notre Dame.

I had the privilege of speaking with ILI Alum Eric Wiechart whose core career transitioned from working in large companies to owning and growing small businesses. In this journey, he reached a point where he wanted to transition business ownership to the next generation so he could channel his energy to a new purpose in his life, not just his career.

What he discovered as a result of going through the ILI program is a passion for coaching others, which drives joy for Eric. These three discussion points summarize our conversation.

1️⃣ Embrace Small Business: A successful career running and growing small businesses was driven by closeness to customers and the opportunity to create good jobs for people which brought Eric immense fulfillment.

2️⃣ Overcoming Transition Challenges: Transitioning from running a small business to handing it over to the next generation was a 7-year process. By committing to the Inspired Leadership Initiative (ILI) along with the guidance of outside experts, Eric was able to navigate the emotional challenge and find clarity in the midst of this transition.

3️⃣ The Power of Cohort: The ILI program provided Eric with a cohort of like-minded individuals who were also navigating their own transitions. Together, they formed a support system, offering guidance, challenges, and camaraderie. The side-by-side journey and shared experiences helped all of them grow to their next chapter in life with purpose.

When you listen to this conversation with Eric, consider the transition you seek in your own life and how it aligns with your purpose.

Ep 117 How Mind Mapping Can Shape Your Midlife Career Pivot21 Sep 202300:11:12

Welcome to my takeaway from my conversation with Erika Heald on episode 116.

We discussed these three key points:
1️⃣ Define what you want to be known for.
2️⃣ Plan your career pivot.
3️⃣ Leverage content in your personal brand.

In my experience many people in midlife conflate social media with content. There is definitely a relationship, for sure. But, there is also a distinct difference.

Erika stresses that we should build our personal brand for our whole self, not just for what we do professionally.  We are real people. Most of us have outside interests.

So, ask yourself the simple question, what is that thing that you do or participate in outside of work that few people know about? Is it on your LinkedIn profile?

What kind of content could you produce about this passion of yours?

Erika suggested you build a mindmap around your topic to create a foundation for your content strategy. I delve into this in some detail on this episode.

Another step is documenting your target audience. I cover this in detail in my Midlife Career Reboot Workbook.

The challenge for you to consider is to develop a content plan that will put you out there with the message you want to get across so that people will know what you’re about and will understand you better.

If you’re looking to pivot your career or win more clients for your business, boosting your personal brand through a content strategy will help you greatly.

Ep 116 How to Use Content to Boost Your Personal Brand in Midlife18 Sep 202300:32:31

On episode 116 I speak with Erika Heald a well-known content marketing strategist about the power of leveraging a content strategy to boost your personal brand in your midlife career.

Here are 3 key discussion points from our conversation:

1️⃣ Define what you want to be known for. Erika says to think about how you want others to perceive you both professionally and outside of work. What is unique about you? Articulate your goals and objectives in your current season of midlife.
2️⃣ Plan your career: It sounds obvious, but Erika says to know who you want to reach. Just like creating a content marketing strategy for a business, identify your target audience for your career, and their interests and then create a content roadmap to reach them.
3️⃣ Leverage content in your personal brand. Whether you like to write or create videos or any form of content, leverage it to position you with your desired audience. Erika points out that your content can be one-on-one content such as email, cards, gifts, etc.

Listen to the full conversation for other key tips including how to map out your career contest strategy.

In episode 223, a Vulnerable Conversation episode, Bernie has a heartwarming conversation with Tim Hughes about his journey to finding purpose and legacy through loss and reflection. The discussion offers valuable insights for anyone seeking clarity in the meaning and impact of their existence.

🗝️ Here are three key takeaways:

1️⃣ Purpose and Clarity: Tim shared how the experience of his father's funeral provided him with a clearer understanding of his own purpose and legacy. The realization that legacy isn’t just about grand gestures, but the personal impact we have on individuals can bring clarity to our life's purpose.

2️⃣ Everyday Impact: We discussed how legacy doesn’t require impacting the entire world. It’s about making a meaningful difference in the lives of even just a few people, whether through mentorship, kindness, or support, as exemplified by Tim's father's mentorship and inclusive mindset at the BBC.

3️⃣ Preservation of Voice and Values: Tim also underscores the importance of recording one’s voice and stories to create a lasting personal legacy. Our recorded voices and teachings can continue to influence future generations, long after we are gone.

💡 Main Takeaway: Legacy is not just about big achievements but also the small, yet significant, imprints we leave on people's lives. Whether it's through mentoring a colleague or supporting a cause, every action contributes to our legacy.

Ep 115 My Personal Journey to Being Fully Present 14 Sep 202300:13:28

Welcome to this takeaway from my conversation with  Rob Connelly on episode 114. Rob introduced the "powerful pause," a mindset tool he developed as a result of overcoming a significant personal crossroads.

This tool helps to combat stress, anxiety, and life’s curveballs by enabling mind control.

🔹 Key Discussion Points:

1️⃣ Adopting intentional breaks (pauses) to cultivate self-awareness and control our thought processes.

2️⃣ The Powerful Pause aids us in concentrating on the now, achieving a tranquil state of consciousness and emptying our thoughts.

3️⃣ Reduce tech dependency by scheduling tech-free time, fostering self-appreciation, and learning to like ourselves again.

📌 My Personal Takeaways:

With 3.8 billion smartphone users globally and 6.3% suffering from addiction, being present is imperative. My personal battle isn’t the device but the real-time digital content. The lure of up-to-the-minute updates sometimes overshadows being present.

Can we detach, even momentarily, from the digital world and be genuinely present? Whether it’s resisting the phone during meals or genuinely investing in conversations, awareness is the first step.

📌 Exploring Mindfulness & Connection:

My regular prayer routines are thought-packed. In addition to my prayer time, I aspire to empty my mind completely. My goal is to create a long moment of tranquillity, without any distractions.

My question for you: How do you envision your ‘powerful pause?’ What are your anticipations from this mental break?

This takeaway is a condensed version with key highlights. Episode 114 has more content, and you are encouraged to delve deeper into the full conversation for a holistic experience.

Ep 114 The Power of Pause to Control Your Mind and Thrive in Midlife11 Sep 202300:37:49

On episode 114 I speak with Rob Connelly. Rob introduces us to a mindset tool he developed that he calls  "the powerful pause" and how using this tool can transform your midlife experience.

After Rob experienced a crossroads in his life which left him questioning who he is and why he is on this Earth, he developed this mindset tool to gain control over his mind.

We discussed:
1️⃣ Embracing the "powerful pause" by taking deliberate pauses in life, both planned and spontaneous to develop self-awareness and gain control over our thinking. By knowing ourselves and our values, Rob discovered the power of navigating stressful moments without feeling miserable.

2️⃣ Mind over mind: Rob realized that we do not have to be controlled by our minds. Rather, we can learn to control our minds. His Powerful Pause method allows us to focus on the present and gain control over our thoughts, leading to a state of no-mind where we are fully conscious but not thinking. He admits that it sounds strange, but it is powerful to experience.

3️⃣ Disconnect to connect: Our addiction to technology and constant distractions makes it challenging for us to be fully present. By intentionally unplugging and spending time alone with ourselves, we can ease our addiction to technology, discover a liking for ourselves, and find it easier to work through our flaws and challenges.

🎧 Tune in to the full episode with Rob Connelly to dive deeper into the concept of the "powerful pause" and its potential to help you thrive in your current midlife season.

Ep 113 How to Develop the Courage to Pursue Personal Growth and Development07 Sep 202300:10:23

Welcome to my takeaway episode for my conversation with David Tank in Episode 112, which is the third immersive storytelling episode in a five-part special series sponsored by the Inspired Leadership Initiative (ILI) at the University of Notre Dame.

The ILI's "encore education" program allows individuals to spend an academic year at Notre Dame, exploring personal growth and the next chapters of their lives.

Key takeaways from my conversation with David Tank:

1️⃣ Journey to Confidence: Starting as an introverted trial lawyer, David gradually found his groove, learning to harness his energy in the courtroom, and building a robust professional confidence that served him well in his career.

2️⃣ Re-evaluating Personal Traits: David's introspection made him ponder how his professional traits, which made him a formidable trial lawyer, influenced his personal life. This self-awareness led him to seek experiences outside his comfort zone.

3️⃣ Discovery Through Change: Unsure if he could experience personal growth and development in his 60s, David took a leap of faith with the ILI program. This decision resulted in personal growth, new perspectives, and enriching interactions with people without an agenda.

David’s journey serves as a reminder for many in their 40s and beyond, illustrating that age doesn't limit our potential for personal evolution. His unique and transformative experience with ILI showcases how one can discover new possibilities at any life stage.

A Challenge for You

Are you feeling constrained by long-held beliefs or fears? Reflect on what might be holding you back. Ask yourself the question "What is the worst thing that can happen if I take this action?" Embrace the challenge, and you might discover something life-changing.

Listen to this episode and message me with your takeaway. 🙌

Ep 112 A Trial Lawyer's Journey to Personal Development in Midlife | ILI 3 of 504 Sep 202300:27:31

Welcome to an immersive storytelling episode sponsored by the Inspired Leadership Initiative (ILI) at the University of Notre Dame.

On this episode, I speak with ILI alum, David Tank. We had an inspiring conversation about his experience as a trial lawyer and the journey to personal growth and development that he is experiencing in his 60s.

David shares his thoughts on the fulfillment of being a trial attorney, a journey that began in his youth.

He candidly discusses how being an introvert initially made him question his compatibility with the legal profession, but he gradually gained confidence and enjoyed every aspect of his work as a trial lawyer.

However, as David reflected on his decades of success in the courtroom as a trial lawyer, he began to question if the traits that served him well in his career were serving him well in his personal life. This has prompted him to consider personal growth and development.

David wondered if he would be open minded to grow personally at this stage in his life. He decided to step back from his legal practice and invested in the Inspired Leadership Initiative at Notre Dame.

During the full academic year at the ILI David learned the importance of being open to new experiences and enjoying the wonder of conversation without an agenda.  He cast aside habits that were formed over decades as a trial lawyer to build new relationships with an open mind.

He inspires us with his willingness to let go of control and embrace uncertainty. His story encourages us to reflect on the habits or traits developed over many years that may be holding us back in some way.

Tune in to discover how this academic year at ILI reoriented David's perspective and allowed him to explore new possibilities.

Ep 111 Ditch the Excuses: Commit to Regular Exercise for a Healthier Midlife31 Aug 202300:15:57

Welcome to my takeaway episode for my conversation with Heike Yates in Episode 110.

Listen to this episode for a challenge to commit (or recommit) to regular exercise to enjoy the benefits. Here is a short summary.

1️⃣ Regular Exercise = Financial Savings 💪
Consistent exercise not only enhances your physical and mental well-being but also saves you money by reducing productivity loss and medical expenses.

2️⃣ Mental Wellness Through Exercise 🧠
Physical workouts have a profound impact on your mental health.

3️⃣ Synergy of Nutrition and Exercise 🥦💚
For a healthy lifestyle, combine a diet from “nature's table” or reliably sourced meats and fish.

My key takeaway from my conversation with Heike Yates is the importance of making time for exercise.  It's essential to commit to integrating regular exercise into your life.

Two Scenarios for Integrating Exercise

Scenario One: You're busy and you lack the discipline to exercise.
If this is you, acknowledge it without guilt. Find an accountability partner, perhaps for early morning workouts or gym sessions.

Scenario Two: You don't have a spare minute in your day.
Heike, in episode 110, mentioned integrating "exercise bites" throughout the day. Consider taking longer walking routes, doing chair push-ups, or desk squats.

Whether you're motivated by health or financial reasons, make regular exercise a commitment. No excuses!  As I often say on the podcast: if you believe you can or can't, you're right in both instances.

If you're already committed to regular exercise, share this with someone who needs to hear this message.

Ep 110 If You Want to Save Money in Midlife Make Regular Exercise a Priority28 Aug 202300:30:13

On episode 110 you'll meet Heike Yates, a renowned Pilates, fitness, and nutrition expert, as well as a coach and podcaster.

Here are a few key takeaways from our conversation:

1️⃣ Regular Exercise = Financial Savings 💪
Regular, consistent exercise not only improves our physical and mental health, it also has a positive impact on our wallets. The cost of lost productivity due to health issues and taking time off work can significantly impact our finances. By prioritizing exercise, we can reduce the risk of illness, thereby saving money from missed work days and medical expenses.

2️⃣ Exercise for Mental Well-being 🧠
Exercise is not just about physical health; it has a profound impact on our mental well-being too. Engaging in cardio activities like running, walking, swimming, or cycling releases endorphins, which boost our mood and overall mental health. Feeling good motivates us to continue exercising, leading to a healthier and happier life.

3️⃣ The Power of Nutrition and Exercise 🥦💚
Exercise and nutrition go hand in hand when it comes to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. It's essential to fuel our bodies with the right nutrients to support our fitness goals and overall well-being. Eating foods from "nature's table," i.e., those that come from the Earth, and meats that are responsibly sourced, can have a significant impact on our long-term health and financial well-being.

So, if you're looking to save money while enjoying a fulfilling midlife, make exercise a regular part of your routine and prioritize nourishing your body with healthy choices.

Ep 109 A Fresh Look at Midlife Reinvention by Embracing Your 'How' Over 'What' 24 Aug 202300:11:06

Welcome to my takeaway episode for my conversation with Michele Kellrooney in Episode 108, which is the second immersive storytelling episode in a five-part special series sponsored by the Inspired Leadership Initiative at the University of Notre Dame.

Michele Kellrooney’s Transformation with ILI in Summary

🎤 Embrace Career Transitions: Michele's journey emphasizes the fluidity of careers and the beauty of embracing change.

🎤 Leap of Faith: Challenged by the enormity of the ILI opportunity and doubting her capabilities, Michele’s story is a testament to the transformative power of diving headfirst into unknown territory.

🎤 Beyond Job Skills: More than just gaining skills, the ILI program facilitated Michele's profound internal transformation. It’s not about changing her profession (she continues teaching), but refining 'how' she approaches it with renewed intentionality and mindset.

🙌 My Key Takeaway:
Michele's transformation revolves not around changing 'what' she does, but reshaping 'how' she does it. Often, in career transitions or life changes, we focus on the 'what' —the job title, the specific skill, or a fresh business idea. However, Michele's story prompts us to question if the thing we need to consider is the 'how.'  For her, it was accepting teaching roles with an open mind, allowing herself to journey through them, embracing uncertainty, and discovering what they could offer.

🔥 My Challenge to You:
Where in your life can you shift focus from 'what' you're doing to 'how' you're doing it? Embracing uncertainty and stepping outside your comfort zone can lead to unparalleled experiences, much like an unplanned trip to an unknown city. Such experiences, though uncertain, can be truly transformational.

Tune in, reflect, and consider—where can you add a dash of uncertainty for a chance at transformation?

Ep 108 Cracking the Shell: A Courageous Pursuit of Transformation and Growth | ILI 2 of 521 Aug 202300:30:50

Welcome to an immersive storytelling episode sponsored by the Inspired Leadership Initiative (ILI) at the University of Notre Dame.

On this episode, I speak with ILI alum, Michele Kellrooney. We had an inspiring conversation about her career journey and the transformation that occurred for her along the way. Here are three interconnected themes from our conversation.

1️⃣ Embrace Career Transitions: Michele started her career as an actor and transitioned into education, teaching theater to young audiences. She recognized that career paths can evolve, and she embraced new opportunities that could lead to amazing transformations.

2️⃣ Leap of Faith: When presented with the opportunity to join the ILI program, initially she doubted her abilities. However, she realized that sometimes taking a leap of faith even without knowing the outcome, can spark transformative experiences and personal growth.

3️⃣ Transformation Beyond Career: While the ILI program provided Michele with tools and tangible skills, she says the most impactful transformation occurred internally. It's not just about what we do, but how we approach it. In her case, it meant shifting her mindset, embracing change, and discovering new levels of intentionality in her teaching.

When you listen to this episode, seriously consider her point about exploring possibilities without knowing what's next.

Ep 107 A Simple Way You Can Enhance Your Visibility17 Aug 202300:10:22

Welcome to my takeaway episode for episode 106 featuring Michelle B. Griffin.

I want to land on one thing that Michelle said that is very powerful, “visibility is not vanity, visibility is value.”

Many of us struggle with “putting yourself out there.” Michelle uses the acronym PYOT for this phrase.

PYOT can be a struggle for many of us. Michelle nailed it when she said that if we don’t put ourselves out there, then those who need us don’t know that we’re here to help them.

As Michelle says, PYOT is NOT vanity! It is value because there are people that you can help.  It doesn’t matter if you own your own business or if you are employed. You have value to offer and you are depriving others of it if you don’t put yourself out there.

In this episode, I offer one very simple way that you can put yourself out there. You have to work your PYOT "muscle" to get some level of comfort using it.

So, my challenge to you my friend is simple.

Commit to PYOT more than you’re doing today. Strengthen this muscle.

No matter where you are on the PYOT spectrum, just remember that there are people who want to know that you are out there because they need you.

So, PYOT so you can help those people!

Ep 105 How Visualization Fuels Achieving My Midlife BHAG Goal10 Aug 202300:13:59

Welcome to episode 105, a takeaway from my conversation with Wendy Valentine on episode 104.

The theme of Wendy's main message is reinventing yourself during midlife. Wendy's story emphasizes the importance of visualizing who you will become, rather than just thinking about who you would like to be. This distinction makes it real, rather than just aspirational.

Wendy shares her belief that midlife is not too late to realize our dreams, and not to deny yourself the chance to reboot your entire life, or your career, depending on your goals.

On this episode, I unveil my vision for an event, planned for 2025, named "Thrive." This two-day conference, possibly to be held in Florida, aims to inspire attendees through talks and workshops on health, fitness, career, relationships, and legacy. Each presentation will offer actionable challenges, with workshops providing deeper insights. Attendees can choose three out of five workshops, with recordings of the others available for later viewing.

These details are very clear in my mind. I can see this event in my mind.

This is my BHAG ("big, hairy, audacious goal"). What is your BHAG? Do you believe you can? If you do believe you can, you will. This is my challenge to you!

Ep 103 Midlife Transformation by Embracing New Possibilities Beyond a Corporate Job03 Aug 202300:08:59

In this takeaway episode, I summarize the key insights I enjoyed when discussing career and life transformation with Bill Schenher,  on episode 102.

Bill is a former corporate treasury professional who realized he needed a change but he didn't know what.  He listened to his desire for change and took action.

Here are the key takeaways from our conversation:

1️⃣ Embrace New Possibilities: Bill's story reminds me that if you want to pursue a different path in your career, do it! He sold his house and relocated without knowing what was next.

2️⃣ The ILI Program: Bill discovered the Inspired Leadership Initiative at the University of Notre Dame which offers a unique opportunity for individuals who have completed a career and to discover and explore new possibilities. Program participants (called Fellows) attend a full academic year on campus, attending classes and immersing themselves in a diverse learning environment for mind, body, and spirit transformation.

3️⃣ Embrace a Portfolio of Activities: Bill's journey teaches us that fulfillment comes from finding and pursuing activities that align with our passions, talents, and unique perspective.  He embraced the concept of a portfolio of activities that completely transformed his perspective on life.

Ep 102 Finding Career Transformation through a Portfolio of Opportunities | ILI 1 of 531 Jul 202300:34:26

This is an immersive storytelling episode brought to you by the Inspired Leadership Initiative at the University of Notre Dame. In the first of five such episodes, you'll meet ILI alum, Bill Schenher.

After a core career in treasury roles in the Silicon Valley area, Bill reached a point where he knew it was time for a change but he didn't know what was next for him.  He candidly discusses his life changes, triggered by the decision to relocate back to his home state of Indiana without a clear career path defined.

He discovered the ILI program. In a conversation with ILI program director Tom Schreier, Bill was encouraged to envision his future as a portfolio of different pursuits rather than a single trajectory. This opened his mind to exploring various interests and passions.

The ILI program, emphasizing a mind-body-spirit approach, played a significant role in Bill's transformation. A team of coaches provided continual support, as well as others like him in the cohort pursuing their own encore education.

His openness to new possibilities led him to a fulfilling position as a career coach for MBA finance majors at the University of Notre Dame. Bill finds his current role very rewarding and remains open to other possibilities in the portfolio of his encore career.

Ep 101 How to Reboot Your Career in Midlife with Confidence27 Jul 202300:22:13

On this takeaway episode, I summarize my methodology in the free Midlife Career Reboot Workbook which I announced on episode 100.

I explain that the premise of this DIY workbook is based on two archetypes:
🎤 The Product Manager
🎤 The B2B (business to business) Sales Professional

The strategy is to adopt the mindset of each of these archetypes and execute these five steps.

1️⃣ Get the product right. You are the product.
2️⃣ Know "thy" target market. Really know them.
3️⃣ Reach out and engage your target market relationally.
4️⃣ Get the meeting.
5️⃣ Reassess. Adjust as needed.

Listen to this episode to hear a summary of this methodology.

Even if you're not currently looking to reboot your career, there's a good chance you'll pick up a tip or two.

Share this with someone you know who is looking to reboot their career.

Ep 100 Your Journey to Fulfillment in Midlife Goes through Five Major Areas of Life24 Jul 202300:30:04

Welcome to episode 100! This episode is a hybrid BF to AF / Maximum episode.

On this centennial episode, I solo to cover two topics that summarize my experience in the first 100 episodes.  I share some of my personal fulfillment journeys as well as explain two important topics that characterize the basis for the Midlife Fulfilled podcast.

1️⃣ What is the true definition of midlife?
Spoiler alert, midlife is not the midpoint of your life!  There is very little support in the scientific community for a universal definition of midlife. I offer my own definition, and back it up with logic that's hard to dispute. Go ahead and try.

2️⃣ The five major areas of midlife and a quiz to help you calculate how fulfilled you are across all of them.

Health | Fitness |Career | Relationships  | Legacy

How fulfilled are you in each of these five major areas of life? On this episode, you'll be asked to calculate this. And, if you're 80% fulfilled, you're doing great!

I also explain why any other area of your life where you seek fulfillment is a subset of one of these five areas.

On episode 100 I also introduce you to my free Midlife Career Reboot Workbook which I explain on episode 101.

If you're listening to this episode on or after July 27, 2023, you can download the free Midlife Career Reboot Workbook at midlifefulfilled.com. If you're subscribed to my newsletter, you'll receive it automatically.

I hope you'll join me for the next 100 episodes!

Ep 99 The Reason Doors Close and Open on Your Journey to Midlife Fulfillment 20 Jul 202300:13:42

This is a takeaway episode from my conversation with Chuck Palm on episode 98 where we discussed:

Embracing Change: Out of necessity, Chuck transitioned from a technical job in the movie industry because of the impact of COVID-19.

Art as Therapy: Chuck's passion for sculpting paved the way for his involvement in art therapy, volunteering to help veterans access treatment and find purpose.

Mind-Body Connection: Chuck prioritized health and fitness in midlife with a commitment to daily exercise resulting in significant health improvements.

Elvis Fandom Pays Off: His affinity for Elvis Presley's "blue-suede shoes" enabled him to realize the impact of being memorable for something unique.

Technology with Purpose: Chuck embraced a role in Crypto and Block Chain, inspired to help people in a return to his career roots in technology.

My Takeaway from Episode 98
Chuck gave himself permission to be open-minded to the fact that doors were closing and doors were opening for a reason.

It can be hard to “give yourself permission” to allow events to unfold as they are unfolding.  This is where faith comes in.

Whatever your faith is in, the evidence is overwhelming that we end up where we were meant to be, with who we were meant to be with, doing what we were meant to be doing.

Chuck said that when he “opened his mind to this,” it got a lot better, a lot easier!

My Challenge to You
Look back on your journey and think about how things have unfolded for you. Can you see evidence of the divine, where things happened that “were supposed to happen, for a reason?”

Rarely do things unfold the exact way we want them to unfold. Often, things unfold against our will. At least until we accept that things are unfolding exactly as they are supposed to unfold.

Maybe you’ll experience what Chuck experienced. Things got easier, they got better. That’s what I want for you.

Ep 97 Safeguarding Your Financial Future with a Trusted Advisor13 Jul 202300:11:48

Welcome to this week's takeaway episode where I reflect on my conversation with Jessica Majeski on episode 96.

Jessica is a wealth management advisor at Northwestern Mutual.  She has been my trusted advisor for eighteen years.

Jessica mentioned on episode 96 that financial planning is never perfect and we should forgive ourselves for mistakes. The key is to be well informed so that you know your options to plan your financial future.

I confessed I didn't want to admit that I needed professional guidance in my financial planning. As a result, I postponed my planning longer than I should have.

I learned why it's important to balance long-term savings while reducing the risk of income loss in the event of illness or injury. And, I couldn't have learned this and more importantly I couldn't have done good planning without guidance from my trusted advisor, Jessica Majeski.

My challenge to you is this. Do you have a trusted financial advisor? If you do, congratulations! If you don't, overcome whatever the reason is that you don't have one and get one. A trusted financial advisor will look out for your best long-term interests and guide you every step of the way.

Ep 96 Expert Advice to Navigate Financial Risks and Save for Retirement10 Jul 202300:35:03

On this Maximum episode, Jessica Majeski, a wealth management advisor at Northwestern Mutual, shares her expertise to discuss important legacy topics. We discussed retirement planning, long-term care planning, and estate planning. Here are three key summary points that you won't want to miss:

1️⃣ Forgive and start saving again: If you haven't saved enough for retirement, it's never too late to start or re-commit to saving. Jessica shares steps to let go of the past and commit to rebuilding your retirement savings.

2️⃣ Chances are you'll need care: Jessica explains the reality that many of us may need custodial care at some point in our life. Long-term care planning is available to provide the level of care that may be needed. Additionally, she sheds light on the peace of mind it brings to ensure your financial well-being later in life.

3️⃣ Estate planning: Jessica emphasizes the importance of setting up estate planning documents, including advanced directives, living wills, wills, powers of attorney, and more. She shares a client story that highlights the criticality of having a living will in place.

Jessica shares a startling fact from the recent Planning and Progress Study Report from Northwestern Mutual about the discrepancy between the amount that Americans believe they need to have saved for retirement and the average amount actually saved. Spoiler alert, it's a BIG discrepancy!

🔊 Maybe you already know a lot about these topics. I suggest you listen anyway because chances are you know someone who will benefit greatly from the education Jessica delivers in this Midlife Fulfilled Maximum episode on these three critical financial planning topics for any midlife season.

Ep 95 Connecting Dots from the Past to Discover the Meaning of Fulfillment06 Jul 202300:12:55

Episode 95 is a takeaway episode from my conversation with Ray Rodriguez in episode 94.

Ray's childhood aspiration was to become an architect. But, his college guidance counselor advised him to pursue a different career path that aligned with his natural talent and personality. This led Ray to the promotional products industry, where he found success architecting sales teams for growth and people's careers in the promotional products industry.

Ray's passion for helping underprivileged kids and making a positive impact on their lives was a big part of our conversation. He has been involved with Big Brother's Big Sisters and has mentored young boys, instilling in them a sense of pride and the belief that they can achieve their dreams.

On this takeaway episode, I discuss how Ray's story is a powerful reminder that often the path we choose takes twists and turns, ultimately leading to fulfillment in ways we could have never predicted. I also discuss the importance of leaving a legacy and leaving this world a little bit better.

Ray and I are lifelong friends and we share a special bond. We have always been there for each other and plan to be there for each "in the end." In the meantime, both of us are keeping our foot on the gas pedal, doing good, working hard, and striving to leave the world a little better.

If you're enjoying the Midlife Fulfilled podcast, please share it with a friend. My goal is to reach millions of people on the midlife journey, spreading the message of fulfillment.

Remember, my midlife friend, if you're 80% fulfilled, you're doing great!

Ep 94 Fulfilling Midlife Dreams through Architecture and Mentorship03 Jul 202300:38:22

On episode 94 you'll meet my lifelong friend Ray Rodriguez. In the introduction, I share the backstory of my relationship with Ray. I'm 11 hours older than Ray and he and I consider each other brothers from another mother.

Ray shares his BF (before fulfillment) to AF (after fulfillment) story of finding fulfillment as an architect of a different type. After he gave up his childhood dream of becoming an architect, he found a successful career in sales in the promotional products industry.

After more than 40 years in the industry including several successful corporate positions growing sales and running his own business, he discovered that he is an architect of a different type.  With the long list of people whose careers were greatly impacted by his leadership and mentorship, he realized great fulfillment in architecting businesses' growth strategies and mentoring people's careers.

His work with Big Brother's Big Sisters has led him to a new chapter where he has architected an entrepreneurship course for underprivileged children. His goal is to positively impact as many kids as possible, through mentorship.

Ep 93 Vanity is Not the Only Motivation for Your Midlife Fitness Health29 Jun 202300:13:01

This is my takeaway episode pertaining to episode 92 with Jay Croft. Here are three key takeaways that really resonated with me.

1️⃣ The focus of our fitness plan in midlife should be on maintaining a functional body rather than pursuing vanity-related goals like having big muscles or a six-pack. It's about ensuring our bodies can perform daily tasks and enjoy life as we age.

2️⃣ It's very important to understand your "why" when it comes to exercise. Discovering your motivation and committing to an exercise routine that benefits both your body and brain is key.

3️⃣ Age-related loss of muscle mass, starts after age thirty, with muscle loss ranging from 3 to 5% per decade. I shared two Harvard Medical study excerpts and one from NIH that explain risks associated with muscle loss, such as decreased mobility, fractures, and falls. Fortunately, exercise is proven to protect memory and thinking skills.

My challenge to you is to know your why for exercise. I assure you that when you know your why, you will be and will remain committed to exercise in midlife.
