Curious about the Bhagavad Gita - Here's what you need to know with Kaya Mindlin
Épisode 61
lundi 18 octobre 2021 • Durée 59:14
Are you keen to understand the Bhagavad Gita & how it relates to the life of yoga seekers?
If yes, this conversation is the best on this topic. Kaya Mindlin is a lifelong student & teacher of the Bhagavad Gita. She shares many fascinating aspects of this text.
We don't talk about the storyline of the Gita but more along the lines of how this applies to a yoga seeker. Kaya shares some very important misconceptions in modern yoga about this text. And reminds of the much overlooked "teaching methodology" of the Gita by modern-day yoga seekers.
We also explore the significance of this text in many ways in this conversation. If you're curious about why this text is standing the test of time. Tune in now.

Teaching Yoga with Intention with Judith Hanson Lasater
Épisode 60
lundi 11 octobre 2021 • Durée 48:06
Judith Hanson Lasater is back on the show today for the 3rd time. We chat about her 2 very significant milestones. Her newest book, “Teaching Yoga with Intention - The Essential Guide to Skillful Hands-On Assists and Verbal Communication”. She also completed 50 years of teaching yoga this July & I ask her what it's like to teach for half a century. Her evolution through this journey.
Teaching yoga with intention is a book that is for both - the yoga teacher and the yoga student. Judith addresses the importance of communication for yoga teachers. Especially communicating using the system of non-violent communication. (I had previously interviewed her about this. Listen to episode 31) & the importance of mutuality & empathy in communication.
Her book also highlights adjustments, power dynamics, difficult conversations & hands-on adjustments.
My favorite part of the book is the final section about how to become an educated student. This is a key part of the conversation that's missing in mainstream yoga. We can all use reminders of how to be a better yoga student!
Judith also shares a special 30% off coupon code for her new book in this episode. You can listen anywhere you stream your podcasts or just head to the link in my bio!
