We have all sinned and fallen short of God’s holy standard/moral law (Rom 3:23,Is 53:6a). Sin has broken the relationship between God and mankind (Gen 3:8). We are powerless on our own to mend that relationship (Is 64:6; Heb 10:1-4,11). Jesus came to bridge the gap between holy God and sinful man (1Cor 15:3-4; 2Cor 5:18-19). Repenting, putting our faith in the life, death & resurrection of Jesus, and trusting the full weight of our sin to him, we are reconciled to God (Jn3:14-18;2Cor 5:18). We accept the free gift of salvation and are made citizens of heaven (Rom 6:23;Eph 2:5,8-9; Phil 3:20). We receive the Holy Spirit and are reborn as new creatures in Christ (2Cor 5:17). Now we are free from the power of sin to live a life of fruitfulness and obedience to Christ! (Gal 5:13-14,22-23; Eph 2:10). | |||
