In this episode, they share how Role Based Messaging is transforming clinical communication by replacing traditional paging systems.

"Role Based Messaging takes clinical communication to the next level because you don't need to know the name of the person you're trying to contact. You just need to know their role," says Naren.

"All that waiting around a landline is now over," says Naren. "You can be walking around, you can be attending to other tasks or seeing other patients. You send that message out on your mobile phone. It's secure because it's happening on our Teams environment."

When a patient transfers from the ward to the intensive care unit, it’s vital the patient’s medication management information, allergies & adverse drug reactions is also transferred between the electronic systems so clinicians can review and modify medication orders as necessary.

This is where the integrated Transitions of Care (iTOC) Design Working Group comes in – their goal is simple but important. They’re working on designing a solution to ensure this information is transferred safely and accurately.
