In this podcast we talk about what is going on at Polaris that has created a number of recalls. We go over what each recall is and what our opinion is on the issue. We also talk about if we think it will make snow check snowmobiles late.Recalls can occur for various reasons, and they are usually initiated by manufacturers or regulatory agencies to address safety concerns or product defects. When it comes to Polaris or any other company, snowmobile recalls can happen for several reasons, including:Safety Concerns: If Polaris identifies a safety issue or defect in their snowmobiles that could potentially harm riders or others, they may initiate a recall to fix the problem and prevent accidents or injuries.Non-Compliance: Snowmobiles, like all motor vehicles, must meet certain safety and emissions standards set by government regulations. If Polaris manufactures snowmobiles that do not meet these standards, they may be subject to a recall.Product Defects: Sometimes, manufacturing defects or design flaws can lead to problems with snowmobile components, such as engines, brakes, suspension, or other critical systems. These defects may lead to recalls to rectify the issues.Customer Complaints: Reports from customers or dealerships about recurring issues or safety concerns can prompt manufacturers like Polaris to investigate and, if necessary, issue a recall.Regulatory Oversight: Regulatory agencies like the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in the United States may conduct safety investigations or audits, leading to recalls if they find issues that compromise safety. It's important for manufacturers like Polaris to take swift action when they discover any potential safety risks or defects to ensure the safety of their customers and comply with regulatory requirements. If you suspect that your Polaris snowmobile may be subject to a recall, you should contact Polaris or a Polaris dealership for information on how to address the issue and get any necessary repairs or replacements.

Killing your first elk can be very challenging if you don't know what you are doing. In this podcast we will go over what you need to do to get your first elk this year. If you are a beginner elk hunter this one is for you! Elk hunting can be an exciting and rewarding experience for beginners, but it also requires preparation and knowledge to be successful. Here are some steps and tips to help you get started with elk hunting: Obtain the necessary licenses and permits: Before you start planning your hunt, make sure to check the regulations and requirements for elk hunting in the specific state or region where you plan to hunt. Acquire the appropriate hunting license and any additional tags or permits needed. Study elk behavior and habitat: Elk are large, social animals that prefer specific habitats, such as mountains, forests, and meadows. Learn about their behavior, feeding patterns, and movement during different seasons. Understanding their habitat preferences will help you locate them more effectively. Practice shooting and firearm safety: Whether you're using a rifle or a bow, practice your shooting skills regularly. Accuracy and proficiency are essential for a humane and successful hunt. Additionally, prioritize firearm safety and familiarize yourself with your weapon of choice. Physical conditioning: Elk hunting can be physically demanding, as you may need to hike long distances in challenging terrain. Start a workout routine well before the hunting season to improve your stamina and endurance. Scout your hunting area: Before the hunting season begins, visit the area where you plan to hunt and scout for signs of elk, such as tracks, droppings, and rubs on trees. Use maps and GPS devices to mark potential hunting spots. Learn elk calls: Elk communicate using various vocalizations, and learning their calls can be helpful for attracting them. Practice with elk calls, such as bugles and cow calls, to imitate their sounds effectively. Hunt with experienced companions: If possible, hunt with experienced elk hunters who can provide guidance and share their knowledge. Learning from seasoned hunters can significantly enhance your chances of success and keep you safe in the wilderness. Be prepared for weather changes: Weather in the mountains can be unpredictable, so be ready for sudden temperature drops, rain, or snow. Pack appropriate clothing, gear, and essentials for your safety and comfort. Be patient and observant: Elk hunting requires patience and a keen eye. Spend time quietly observing and listening for elk activity. Avoid making sudden movements or loud noises that could scare them away. Know the hunting regulations and ethics: Respect the hunting regulations and ethical practices. Only take shots that you are confident will result in a clean and humane kill. Additionally, leave no trace in the wilderness, and respect the wildlife and environment. Remember that hunting success can vary from season to season, and even experienced hunters may not always harvest an elk. Enjoy the process of being outdoors, connecting with nature, and learning from each hunting experience.
| Outdoor Action Videographer Camera Setup | 25 Jul 2023 | 00:23:48 | |
Are you confused on what camera to get? Here is my camera setup that I use to capture content in the outdoors, this video will help with what camera specs you should look for when picking a camera and lenses out. This video is for hunting and action sports specifically. Sony 16-35 f/2.8 Sony 24-105 f/4 Sony 24 f/1.4 Sony 70-200 f/2.8 Sony a6400 Sony a7siii Sony A1 Choosing the right camera setup for outdoor content largely depends on your specific needs, budget, and the type of content you want to create. Here are some considerations and recommendations to help you make an informed decision: Camera Type: DSLR or Mirrorless: These interchangeable-lens cameras offer excellent image quality, manual controls, and versatility. They are suitable for both photography and video. Action Camera: Ideal for capturing dynamic outdoor activities and adventures, such as biking, skiing, or water sports. They are compact, rugged, and often come with built-in stabilization. Camcorder: If video is your primary focus, a camcorder can provide features like long recording times, excellent autofocus, and image stabilization. Resolution and Image Quality: For professional-level content, consider cameras with at least 4K resolution for high-quality videos and photos. Weather Resistance: If you'll be shooting in challenging weather conditions, look for weather-sealed or rugged cameras to protect them from dust, moisture, and impacts. Lens Selection: For outdoor content, consider versatile lenses with a wide focal range. A general-purpose zoom lens can handle various shooting scenarios. If you need to capture distant subjects or wildlife, a telephoto lens would be valuable. Image Stabilization: In outdoor environments where stable footing might be difficult, built-in image stabilization can help reduce shaky footage. Audio Quality: Good audio is crucial for video content. Consider an external microphone or a camera with a microphone input for better sound recording. Portability: Depending on your shooting style, you might prioritize lightweight and compact setups for ease of transportation. Battery Life: Outdoor shoots may not always have easy access to power sources, so consider cameras with good battery life or have extra batteries on hand. Budget: Determine how much you are willing to invest in your camera setup. High-end cameras and lenses can be expensive, but there are also more budget-friendly options available. Accessories: Depending on your needs, you may also want to consider tripods, filters, camera bags, and other accessories to enhance your outdoor shooting experience. Recommended Cameras: DSLR or Mirrorless: Sony Alpha series (e.g., Sony A7III), Canon EOS R series, Nikon Z series. Action Camera: GoPro Hero series, DJI Osmo Action. Camcorder: Canon Vixia series, Sony Handycam series. Remember, the best camera setup ultimately depends on how you plan to use it and your personal preferences. Take the time to research, read reviews, and if possible, try out different cameras in-store before making a decision.

| How you can KILL PROCRASTINATION | 27 Jun 2023 | 00:18:22 | |
Procrastination was killing our goals and taking over our life. We took action and used two methods to begin to turn our productivity around. We both were in ruts and we did this to get out of the rut. In this podcast we will discuss what we are doing! Procrastination can be a challenging habit to break, but with consistent effort and the right strategies, you can overcome it. Here are some tips to help you kill procrastination: Set clear goals: Clearly define what you want to achieve and break your goals down into smaller, manageable tasks. This helps to create a sense of direction and purpose. Prioritize tasks: Identify the most important tasks and tackle them first. Prioritizing helps you focus on what matters most and reduces the tendency to procrastinate. Create a schedule: Develop a schedule or a to-do list that outlines your tasks and deadlines. This provides structure and helps you stay organized. Break tasks into smaller steps: Sometimes tasks can feel overwhelming, leading to procrastination. Break them down into smaller, more manageable steps, and focus on completing one step at a time. Set deadlines: Establish realistic deadlines for yourself. Having specific deadlines can motivate you to take action and avoid unnecessary delays. Use time management techniques: Techniques like the Pomodoro Technique can be effective in combating procrastination. Set a timer for a specific period (e.g., 25 minutes) and work intensely during that time, followed by a short break. Repeat this cycle several times. Minimize distractions: Identify and eliminate potential distractions, such as social media, TV, or noisy environments. Consider using website blockers or productivity apps to help you stay focused. Find your optimal working environment: Experiment with different environments to determine where you work best. Some people thrive in complete silence, while others may need some background noise. Discover what works for you and create an environment that supports your productivity. Use positive reinforcement: Reward yourself for completing tasks or meeting milestones. It can be something small like taking a short break, enjoying a favorite snack, or doing something you enjoy. Positive reinforcement can help create a positive association with completing tasks and motivate you to continue being productive. Practice self-discipline: Cultivate self-discipline by holding yourself accountable for your actions. Develop a mindset that emphasizes the importance of taking action and completing tasks promptly. Seek support: Share your goals and progress with others. Having an accountability partner or joining a study or work group can provide support and encouragement to stay on track. Reflect on your motivations: Understand the underlying reasons for your procrastination. Identify any fears, anxieties, or self-limiting beliefs that may be holding you back. By addressing these issues, you can better overcome procrastination. Remember, breaking the habit of procrastination takes time and effort. Be patient with yourself and persevere. Celebrate your progress along the way, and gradually you'll develop a more proactive approach to tasks and goals.

Practice regularly to improve your accuracy and ensure ethical shots. Study Deer Behavior: Understanding deer behavior is crucial. Learn about their feeding patterns, movement during different times of the day, and the rutting season. This knowledge will help you anticipate their movements and position yourself accordingly. Concealment and Scent Control: Deer have keen senses, especially their sense of smell. Use scent control products and take measures to minimize your scent, such as using scent-free soap and clothing. Additionally, wear camouflage that matches the environment to blend in and stay hidden. Optimize Your Stand Placement: Choose strategic locations for your tree stand or ground blind. Look for areas with clear shooting lanes, proximity to deer trails, and natural features like funnels or pinch points that force deer to pass through specific areas. Use Deer Calls and Scents: Calls and scents can be effective tools for attracting deer. Experiment with different deer calls, such as grunt calls or rattling antlers, during the rut to imitate deer vocalizations. Additionally, deer scents like doe estrus can be used to lure in bucks during the breeding season. Hunt During Peak Activity Times: Deer are most active during the early morning and late afternoon. Plan your hunts around these peak activity times to increase your chances of encountering big deer. Be Patient and Still: Hunting requires patience. Once you've found a promising spot, stay still and remain patient. Avoid sudden movements and minimize noise. Remember, deer have excellent hearing and can easily be spooked. Practice Ethical Hunting: Ensure that you understand and follow all hunting laws and regulations. Take ethical shots within your effective range to ensure a clean kill. Respect the animal and the environment throughout the hunting process. Continuously Learn and Adapt: Hunting is a skill that develops over time. Continuously educate yourself, learn from your experiences, and adapt your strategies based on the specific conditions and feedback you receive from the field. Remember to always prioritize safety and ethical hunting practices. Check local regulations and obtain any required licenses or permits before embarking on your hunting adventure.
| Should you ARCHERY or RIFLE HUNT? | What to Expect | Ep. 4 | 06 Jun 2023 | 00:17:37 | |
In this episode of Let's Assess we talk about the differences in rifle vs archery hunting. We talk about how different of experiences they are. We also give you insight into whether you should archery hunt or rifle hunt! Archery hunting and rifle hunting are two popular methods of pursuing game animals. They differ in terms of equipment, skill requirements, hunting strategies, and overall hunting experience. Here's a comparison of archery hunting and rifle hunting: Equipment: Archery Hunting: Archery hunting involves using a bow and arrow to take down game animals. It requires skill and practice to accurately shoot arrows at varying distances. Rifle Hunting: Rifle hunting involves using a firearm, typically a rifle, to hunt game animals. Rifles offer longer effective ranges and greater accuracy compared to bows. Skill Requirements: Archery Hunting: Archery hunting demands a higher level of skill and precision. It requires practice to develop proficiency in shooting technique, judging distances, and understanding animal behavior up-close. Rifle Hunting: While rifle hunting still requires proficiency in marksmanship, it generally requires less physical strength and precision than archery. Rifles provide more forgiveness for slight errors in aim and distance estimation. Range and Accuracy: Archery Hunting: Archery hunting typically involves closer encounters with game animals. The effective range of a bow is generally shorter, requiring hunters to get within 30 to 50 yards of their target. Accuracy depends on the archer's skill level. Rifle Hunting: Rifles allow for longer effective shooting distances, often reaching several hundred yards. Rifles provide greater accuracy due to the use of scopes, stability from a shooting rest or bipod, and higher muzzle velocities. Hunting Strategies: Archery Hunting: Archery hunters often rely on stealth, camouflage, and stalking techniques to get within close range of their prey. They may use ground blinds or tree stands to conceal their presence and wait for the right shot opportunity. Rifle Hunting: Rifle hunters can take advantage of their longer shooting distances to engage game animals from a concealed position or vantage point. They may employ spot-and-stalk tactics or use calling techniques to attract animals within range. Hunting Seasons and Regulations: Archery Hunting: Many hunting seasons have specific archery-only periods, which can offer advantages like less competition and more opportunities to pursue game animals. Some jurisdictions may also require special permits or licenses for archery hunting. Rifle Hunting: Rifle hunting seasons are often more extensive and open to a larger number of hunters. Different calibers and firearms may have specific regulations and restrictions, such as minimum caliber requirements or restrictions on magazine capacity. Hunting Experience: Archery Hunting: Archery hunting provides a more intimate and challenging experience. Getting closer to game animals requires a deeper understanding of their behavior and habitat, leading to a heightened sense of connection with nature. Rifle Hunting: Rifle hunting offers the advantage of longer effective ranges, enabling hunters to cover larger areas and potentially spot game animals from a distance. The focus is more on precision shooting and marksmanship skills rather than proximity to the animals. Ultimately, whether you prefer archery hunting or rifle hunting depends on your personal preferences, hunting goals, skill level, and the game animals you're pursuing. Both methods have their own unique challenges and rewards, offering exciting opportunities for hunters to connect with nature and participate in the age-old tradition of hunting.
