How to ensure your leadership messages are being understood

Saison 2 · Épisode 46

  • Does your organisation produce regular leadership communications content for employees?
  • Are your messages actually getting through to the right people?
  • And, if they do get through, are they being interpreted and understood as they're intended?

In this episode, I sit down with Communications Consultant, Coach, Trainer and Author Ray Walsh to explore the role of communications in organisations.

Communication skills are seen as a prerequisite for effective Leadership. Yet, as Ray points out, sending a message doesn't mean that it has been received or understood. In fact, the stats that he quotes around email open rates in organisations would suggest that the vast majority of messages are not being processed as intended.

When these messages contain important information related to strategy or change, it's no wonder that Senior Leaders are often frustrated when they visit field offices or factories.

Ray also advocates that communicating is everyone's responsibility in an organisation and not the sole job of one department.

He provides us with essential insights into how to address these challenges and uses examples from his own professional experience to illustrate what can be done, this includes how not getting your communications right can have a negative impact on profitability.

And, stay tuned, because along the way Ray also has a special offer for some lucky listeners.
