Simon Pitt is joined in the podcast studio by the co-creator of independent carp fishing publication subsurface journal, Simon Hartop. Simon has been fishing since the early 80’s and caught his first twenty pound carp over 30 years ago. As well as landing numerous large carp, he also enjoys catching other species of fish. Over the years he has contributed to various angling magazines and publications and this year he edited the British Carp Study Group’s 50th anniversary book.

Julian Cundiff has had a huge influence on the English carp fishing scene for over three decades. His instructional books and other media outputs have helped improve and develop the carp fishing abilities of many anglers. On this episode of the podcast, Julian joins Simon for a very candid and colourful conversation, proving why he is so endeared and respected throughout the entire angling community.

Darrell Peck is regarded as one of the most prolific big carp anglers around. Since his early twenties, he has caught some of the largest and most sought after fish. He also regularly appears on Korda’s Thinking Tackle and Masterclass series. Furthermore, his book “My Misspent Youth” relives accounts of his entire carp fishing journey. Lastly, at the age of just 35 years old, he was the youngest ever angler to be inducted into the Carp Fishing Hall of Fame.

On this episode of the podcast, Simon Pitt speaks to Damian Clarke, the managing director of Korda Developments Ltd. Damian first came to notoriety in 1991, when he caught the Snake Pit Common at a then British record common carp weight of 45.12lbs. He also was the first English angler to catch three different carp, from three different European lakes, all over 80lbs. He now focuses his attention on fishing quiet syndicate lakes in southern England, while juggling a bustling work and family life. 

Danny Fairbrass joins Simon Pitt in the studio for the very first episode of The Thinking Tackle Podcast. Danny is the founder of Korda Developments Ltd. He is heavily involved in shows such as Masterclass, Underwater and Thinking Tackle. He also manages both Guru and Gigantica, and more recently, Embryo Angling Habitats, a totally not-for-profit organisation that looks to preserve the sport of carp fishing.
