This week on Just Start the Tape, Bobbi, Kelli, and Kam revisit Season 1 Episode 1 of AMC’s Interview With the Vampire, “In Throes of Increasing Wonder.” This series premiere introduces the titular vampire, Louis de Pointe du Lac as he tells his life story to journalist Daniel Molloy. We are transported back to 1910s New Orleans where Louis meets the vampire Lestat de Lioncourt.

Discover why we consider this not only one of the best episodes of the show, but one of the best television pilots of all time. An episode so good, we had to split it into two. Part 2 drops next week!

Discussions include why no one will ever forgive Lestat for the fate of our beloved Miss Lily, the scene that should’ve gotten Jacob Anderson an Emmy, and why we consider this episode one of the best TV pilots of all time.
