Journal Updated 58: Cyberpunk 207715 Jun 2025

Welcome one and all! We're here with a later than usual episode because this game is too fucking big. We both spent upward of 70 hours on the damn thing. Is it worth it? Honestly, I don't know. The highs are damn high! I'm really glad I basically didn't have any noteworthy bugs or issues in this playthrough. That would have been too much I think. In any case, we had a good time on this episode, even though we had to stop recording twice because of technical difficulties. We simply locked in and handled it because we're real professional chooms.

Journal Updated 57: Lovely Lady RPG01 May 2025

Welcome back! This month on Journal we decided to play a smaller game than usual in part to allow us more time to play a bigger game next month. With that decision came Lovely Lady RPG! We had a really good discussion about the game's virtues and pitfalls, even though (as you might expect) we got pretty different levels of enjoyment out of it.

Journal Updated 48: Mirror's Edge01 May 2024

Welcome back! This month, we talked about Mirror's Edge, the 2008 first person platformer from EA! It's a cute little game that maybe aged a little bit in certain places but as far as unfinished 360 games go this is a pretty good one! We talk about running, cyberpunk, guns vs no guns, and more!

Journal Updated 47: Alan Wake04 Apr 2024

Hello again! We're back with a new Journal Updated: Alan Wake! This month, Nora played a LOT of Dragon's Dogma, but it's a bit too fresh for a big take on it. We also picked a game for the show live on air! It's not a lake!

Journal Updated 46: Dark Void02 Mar 2024

We're back again! This month, we go to the place between places...it's Dark Void! This 360 third person shooter is a little rough around the edges, but it's a pretty good time! As per usual, one of us had a great experience while the other one had her own unique issues. Enjoy!

Journal Updated 45: Bioshock 231 Jan 2024

Welcome back! We kick off the Year of the Three-Sixty with a trip down memory lane...for some people. I never played this one. It's Bioshock 2! Witness the beginning of a Dad Universe with this...honestly really obnoxious fps about finding your daughter or whatever. Who cares, it's Bioshock 2.

Journal Updated 44: Tacoma02 Jan 2024

Happy New Year everybody! We're back with a new episode recorded way earlier than usual! Nora had to make time for her seven Baldur's Gate 3 playthroughs, you see. Anyway, we played Tacoma! Hop on board as we talk space stations, AI, lesbians, and more!

Journal Updated 43: Resident Evil 401 Dec 2023

Journal Updated 33: Fallout: New Vegas04 Dec 2022

Welcome back to Journal Updated! This month we played Fallout: New Vegas, a renowned video game in the “RPG” genre. It’s pretty cool, though obviously it can’t hold up to over a decade of praise. That really is the worst thing to do to a game you like. Also on the docket: Harvestella! Pokemon! The Outer Worlds?

Journal Updated 29: Dragon Age: Inquisition01 Aug 2022

We're back with our last Bioware title ever! Turns out they made a pretty fun game this time. This is the highest we've ever been on Bioware, and likely the highest we ever will be. That doesn't mean there aren't problems...in fact, bigger game means bigger problems. Very glad to be done with this series, and studio.

We had a pretty good time up in the great white north, despite Todd's best efforts to break our saves halfway through. What can you say about Skyrim? It's a decade old, it's a hugely influential thing. It's fucking fun. Also discussed: Demon's Souls, NiGHTS Into Dreams, Sayonara Hearts, and more!

Journal Updated 20: Until Dawn01 Nov 2021

We're back with some wintertime spookiness! This month we played Until Dawn, a horror adventure game from Supermassive Games! It's got monsters, it's got teens, it's got choices, it's got racism. Basically all the ingredients for a horror movie, but this one you push buttons! This would have been a way better 2 hour movie.

Journal Updated 19: Late Shift01 Oct 2021

We're back with another Journal Updated! This month we took it waayyy easy and played a short little title that we actually saved to the last minute. It's a really endearing little excursion, though we don't have TOO much to dig into. But man games can be fun!

Journal Updated 16: Bioshock13 Jul 2021

Welcome back to Journal Updated! This month, we talk about the 2007 FPS Bioshock, sometimes called an immersive sim! We hate that though. We also don't like this game very much. It's fine, but unrefined and chock full of weird racism. Would you kindly give us a listen all the same?

Journal Updated 15: Tyranny01 Jun 2021

Welcome back to Journal Updated! This month, Nora & Molly are joined by Em of Abnormal Mapping to chat about Tyranny, an Obsidian-developed crpg that fails to make much of an impression!

Journal Updated 13: Fable31 Mar 2021

Welcome to another Journal Updated! This month, Nora is plagued by technical difficulties and Molly is completely relaxed of it. This is a weirdly spicy ep, I don't know what to tell you. Seems like Fable sucks.

Journal Updated 12: Radical Dreamers01 Mar 2021

Welcome to another Journal Updated! This month, we played the 1993 Satellaview SNES game Radical Dreamers, which is connected vaguely to both Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross! Welcome back to Journal Updated! This month, Nora and Molly are joined by guest Hannah as they all set out on a one-way trip to the stars with Mass Effect Andromeda! Journal Updated 53: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion03 Jan 2025

We're back! After an unintentional (but ultimately beneficial) break, Journal Updated is here once again to talk about a god damn video game! The subject at hand is, of course, the hit Bethesda open world RPG Oblivion! You know it, you love it, you've laughed at NPCs being silly in it. Well I finally played it! Will it hold up to its ancestors? Will it compare to its legacy? Who can say! (I can).
