Healed from Long Covid with Casey Yorman21 Oct 202200:32:17

Casey Yorman lives in the Czech Republic with his family. He is the Director of Edge Sports International and helps lead the entire International Team. In this episode, he shares about his journey to the field, his love for sports, and how God healed him from long Covid.

He and his wife Kristin first heard about Josiah Venture in 2002 when a group of high school students from their church in California went to the Czech Republic to teach at a JV English camp. The following year, they were invited to become JV summer interns in Romania. This experience really awoke in them the desire to share the gospel with youth in Central and Eastern Europe.

In 2011, the Yorman family (this time including their sons, Caleb and Benaiah) moved to Czech so that Casey could fill the role of Speciality Team (S-team) Director as well as Director of both Camps and Edge Sports. In 2015, Casey decided to step down from his roles leading Camps and the S-team to focus solely on JV Edge Sports International. Casey serves all of our JV countries in training coaches in discipleship and quality coaching, helping cast vision for JV countries that are struggling to get Edge Sports started, writing training material, recruiting more coaches to help, networking, fundraising, and casting vision for what is ahead.

How Deconstruction Deepened My Faith with Kuba Vejmělka06 Oct 202200:39:17

Kuba Vejmelka lives and serves in his hometown of Brno, Czech Republic. He grew up in a Christian home, but in high school, he went through a season of deconstructing his faith. "I came to a point where I needed to figure out if my faith was my own or my parent's." He began spending time with Monika, his now wife, and realized that she had something different. "I saw something in her that I didn't have, some kind of different light and beauty, and I realized that it was the presence of Jesus."

In the spring of 2018, God called Kuba to join Josiah Venture's Czech national organization—KAM. Kuba leads a team of people whose primary focus is to prepare training events and materials for both Josiah Venture workers and youth leaders in the Czech Republic to equip leaders to serve Jesus and reach this young generation with the gospel.

He and Monika currently live in Brno and serve their local community. In April 2020, their first child Rozalia Nora was born.

Using Social Media for Ministry in Serbia with Stojce Nikolov15 Feb 202200:40:01

Stojce Nikolov is the Josiah Venture country leader for Serbia and he is doing creative and innovative things with his ministry through social media.

Shortly after coming to faith, Stojce began asking God to provide a way for him to deepen his understanding and relationship with his newfound Savior. Within a few months Stojce, who was living in Macedonia, received the opportunity to move to Serbia to pursue a degree in theology. During this time he began to discover his passion for working with youth and became very involved with the local church in Bačka Topola.

Stojce was introduced to Josiah Venture when his church decided to host a camp for its youth. One year later, Stojce and his wife, Sara, were married. Together, they continued to volunteer and serve with JV until 2013, when they were officially asked to join the organization. Today, Stojce pastors a newly planted church in Pačir. Stojce, Sara and their son, Noel, live in Bačka Topola, where they also continue to serve.

Abiding in Jesus with Marta Logins01 Feb 202200:32:49

Marta Logins is a missionary, pastor's wife, and mom in her home country of Latvia. She and her husband, Raimonds, have been serving there, along with their three daughters, for seven years. Back in November some of the Josiah Venture women gathered over zoom and heard an encouraging message from Marta and we quickly realized that her story needed to be shared with a wider audience.

Marta shares about how she fell in love with God's Word and is spending more intentional time abiding in him. Please be encouraged and inspired by her message. Something unique about this episode is that in order for Marta to fully express herself, she shares in her heart language of Latvian and her friend and fellow JV missionary, Lelde Keice, translated for her. This might be the first time you have heard Latvian spoken. It is a beautiful language! Enjoy!

From Muslim to Christian with Juli Muhameti07 Dec 202100:32:55

Juli Muhameti is a national from Albania, and he believes in the God who saves. He was just 14 years old when he became a Christian after he was challenged to read the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, at the same time. Somewhere in the middle of Exodus and John, God opened his eyes. Juli put his faith in Christ and received the gift of eternal life. Juli grew up in a culturally Muslim household, and he speaks about how less than one percent of Albania's 2.9 million people are evangelical Christians.

Juli is married to Suela and they have two daughters Amelia & Ema. He and his wife studied at GLO Bible College in Scotland and when they came back to Albania they began to serve in church planting and started a new youth ministry in Vlore. Their dream is to see healthy disciple-making youth ministries all across Albania, and are burdened for the thousands of young people in their country who do not yet know Christ.

Being a Missionary and Pastor in His Hometown with Andrej Lovse30 Nov 202100:35:22

Andrej Lovše is a missionary and pastor in his hometown of Maribor, Slovenia, and serves as the Josiah Venture country leader. In this episode, you will hear all about Andrej's love for his country, his family, and his three horses. He also shares his wild dreams and prayers he has for Slovenia.

He met his wife, Nina, when they were teenagers. Nina was the first to accept Christ due to missionaries sharing the gospel with her outside her high school. A few years later, Andrej became a believer and left medical school to pursue Bible training. They married in 2001 and moved to Zagreb, Croatia to study theology and both got undergraduate degrees in Bible at the Biblical Institute in Zagreb and Master's degrees in Christian Ministry at Abilene Christian University.

Since 2010, they have been church planting and using tools such as Fusion, English, and sports to continue investing in the city's youth. They hope that new churches will be planted and that next-generation leaders will be equipped to reach Slovenia. They live and serve with their three kids, Eva, Izak, and Timi, in a small community near Maribor.

She and her husband, Marc, met while both were serving in Josiah Venture. Marc had been in Hungary for four years, and Olya had been in Ukraine. Now, they serve together in the city of Lviv, Ukraine, with their son Enoch.

Marc serves in the EDGE Sports Ministry, while Olya leads the Fusion ministry. God has put on their hearts a deep burden for the youth of Ukraine. They especially desire to see young people enter healthy local churches through the ministries that God has placed on their hearts.

Olya first became acquainted with JV as a camper at an English camp in 2004 near Rivne, Ukraine. In 2013, Olya took a step of faith by joining JV to help start Fusion in Ukraine. Olya and Marc enjoy using English, Fusion, and Edge sports to equip local churches, reach young people, and share Jesus with them. Marc and Olya pray that God will use their family to further the gospel in Ukraine.

Using Music as a Tool to Build Relationships with Shelby Flowers19 Oct 202100:39:23

Shelby Flowers is the Director of Fusion International and is passionate about helping young people use their gifts and talents for the Kingdom.  She first traveled to the Czech Republic in 2010 to serve at a Fusion camp with a short-term team. She quickly realized that her relationship with Czech would never be "short-term." The way music works as a tool to build relationships and connect people to Christ is Shelby's passion, and in that sense, Fusion is basically a dream come true.

She served as a Fusion intern in the Czech Republic in the summers of 2011 and 2012 and moved to Czech in 2014. Shelby is using her passion for music to reach young people in Central and Eastern Europe with the love of Christ. She lives in Ostrava, Czech Republic and travels internationally to help train and establish Fusion in other Josiah Venture countries.
