It was 25 years ago today that the residents of Gander Newfoundland took in nearly 7,000 strangers and hosted them for 5 days. This podcast is dedicated to them.

Lots to get to this week. There's the threat of a firefighters strike in France. We also look into the big storm in Ontario Canada, and we took in the final Marche Gourmand (Night market) of the summer.

It has been a tough, dry summer all over Europe. This week, we'll analyze the fallout for consumers. We also weigh in on the Canada/US trade war, and list more reasons to visit the thriving community of Villereal.

We lucked in to quite the pleasant surprise this week, with a tour of the Watt Machine in Fumel's industrial area. This massive steam engine from the late 1800's is still functional, and quite beautiful in its own right. Also on this Chapter, there are updates from the Social Media Ban proposal, and more fallout from France's ongoing heatwave.

Even with France's extreme heat continuing, we managed a nearby picnic to observe the big solar eclipse on Wednesday. It managed to get to around 99% here in France, while parts of Spain enjoyed the full meal deal. We'll also talk about our trip to the village of Gontaud de Nogaret, and the key fob saga has officially come to a close.

The European drought continues to affect everything from commerce to tourism. If you're traveling here, we will have some tips for you to consider. On the bright side, we enjoyed a lovely day-trip to Montpezat de Quercy and the Coteaux de Quercy wine region.

With France's crippling fires taking centre stage, we abandoned the idea of an adventure this week, and focused on as many aspects of the catastrophe as possible. What's going on, and what to do if you're here visiting.

This week in France, speed limits are going up, while a tax is headed down. We will flesh it all out. There's more on the Canadian/American relationship, and we enjoyed a lovely visit to the Chateau Belhomme in Fumel.

The planet is on fire. On this week's chapter, we focus on forest fires here in France, Canada and the US, and how to be a part of the solution. We also celebrate the largest French Fetes Nationale parades in history, which paid tribute to the Ukraine.

After a terrific experience in the Gers region last week, we doubled down and returned there with a visit to La Romieu. Glad we did. Be sure to check out this beautiful Village if you find yourself in France's Southwest. If you have time, go have some fun with the Buffalo as well.

This week in France included a bird attack, the total destruction of our living room due to a turned ankle and a fantastic visit to the vibrant village of Lectoure.

It's been another extremely hot week in France. Not hot enough to cancel the Villeneuve Sur Lot Air show though. And if you've ever wondered how large planes appear in strange places, wonder no more.

This week, Jeff wraps up his trip back to Canada, and says goodbye to a long standing Canadian institution. Julie has more on the French heatwave, and yes, the pooping Falcons are back.

Julie recently spent a week in Bordeaux for medical reasons, and used her free time to check out a couple of must-see museums. We get into that, and share our wonderful Alpaca shearing adventure with friends.

This week, we pay tribute to P.K. Subban, as he realizes his goal donation of $10 Million to the Montreal Children's Hospital Foundation. Also on the docket, a stop in to the jaw-dropping Sunday market in Montcuq.

While the U.S. was losing an airline, Canada received its largest order ever to build passenger planes from Airbus in Montreal. We will address a number of aviation stories from this past week. Also on tap, a review of Canada's Top 100 restaurants, and a visit to the Garlic capital of France.

While attending some medical appointments in Bordeaux, we decided to pass by St. Emilion's little Brother, Pomerol. We also discuss more French initiatives dealing with Smart-phones. And the jet-fuel shortage is real, and has begun affecting flights in France.

All jokes aside, we had a wonderful walk through the incredible Cork Museum in the gorgeous village of Mezin. A truly enjoyable adventure. This week, we also take a deep dive into the bizarre practice of home-buying using the "viager" option.

Busy weeks mean busy podcasts. On 202, we talk about the new travel protocols to Europe, French table etiquette, our Carte de Sejour application and a wonderful visit to a local apiary.

After an incredibly weird week of world news, we are back with another adventure. This week we walked the charming 14th century village of Bélaye, in the Lot. There's also more debate about the upcoming European labour day on May 1st.

This week, we took an educational walk back in time with a visit to the Agricultural and Automotive Heritage Museum in Salviac.

At the top of the Lot region, sits a most intriquing Castle, the Chateau de Lantis. This week we talk about its amazing renovation and the family who has spent the better part of 30 years bringing it back to life. We also talk about the food truck industry here in France.

After driving by it dozens of time, we finally checked out the Rody Chocolate Museum & Boutique in Castillonnes. What a great experience. Move over Willie Wonka. Also in this Chapter, you'll find out just how much the Brits love their dogs.

This week, we wrap up our amazing trip to Barcelona with a visit to the Picasso museum. And we introduce you to a Canadian who's making positive waves in British Columbia, Tod Maffin.

What an eventlful week. We battled storm Nils, and won. Then embarked to beautiful Barcelona with our friends Brian and Angela Hayward. This is part one of our trip.

Julie was benched for Chapter 194, to make way for our friend Brian Hayward, whom Jeff met while in Winnipeg in the 80's. Brian was an NHL goalie for the Winnipeg Jets and later the Montreal Canadians, to name a couple, and now continues his long run as TV Hockey Analyst for the Anaheim Ducks.

We are all over the map this week. Everything from the Dr. approved benefits of wine circa 1935, to the Takata airbag recall and an eye-opening stroll through the magnificent Abbey in Moissac.

This week, we took a stroll through the many half-timber structures of Clairac. Truly amazing. Up the road a bit, the World Economic Forum was unfolding in Davos, and Canada's Prime Minister served notice with a speech that moved the dial. We discuss that as well.

It has been a fantastic week here in South West France. We received some amazing news regarding our Solar field grievance. And, we were treated to a lovely afternoon in the charming village of Villefrance du Perigord.

Happy New Year good people! On this week's chapter, we catch up on some current events that occured during our Christmas break, including news that George and Amal Clooney have been approved for citizenship here in France.

Jeff returned from a jam-packed trip to Canada, which included some amazing times with friends and family, and the cancellation of his flight home on Air Canada resulting in an unplanned trip to Detroit. Warning: There may be a rant here.
