In 2014, after more than 16 years of studying, practicing, and receiving prayer ministry, Eric felt led to start running "Listening Prayer" workshops and an inner healing prayer ministry within his church community. Two years later, this evolved into Listening Prayer Ministries, Inc, a non-profit prayer ministry focused on helping people connect to Jesus relationally, experience deep transformation through interactive conversation with Jesus, and discover purpose in partnering with Jesus. Ep103- A Lesser Known Approach To Parenting w/Jenilee Samuel on “What’s the Word Podcast”

Saison 4 · Épisode 103

jeudi 15 septembre 2022Durée 43:01

PART TWO: Parenting.  Le sigh...  that thing that matters most yet feels strangely ungraspable.  Every family is different. Every parent is different.  Then every kid is different.  If we needed any more variables, you can factor in country, generational influence, cultural diversities, etc.  In this episode of Java with Jen, I am being interviewed by Tiffany Johnson from the "What's the word" podcast, where SHE asks ME about parenting the next generation.  Like anything else, I share my perspective, what's worked for me, and what the Lord has spoken to us for our family.  Let this serve to come alongside your parenting experience, but never take someone else's approach as a GOSPEL guideline.  Glean what might work for you, and just dust your hands of anything else. However this episode is packed with rich conversation, insightful questions and hopefully responses and insight that really serve you well and encourage you in your own journey.  Never forget, the Holy Spirit is your GREATEST support system and has all the creative ideas for how to raise your kids well, in the way that THEY need to be raised. Ep 101: WHEN LOVE COVERS: Handling Sin in a Way that Heals w/Jenilee Samuel

Saison 4 · Épisode 101

jeudi 1 septembre 2022Durée 37:16

Every one of us, if you’ve been in the church for very long, have seen various ways sin can be dealt with… some can be healthy, and some that make you just cringe and want to hide under a rock. In this week’s episode I tackle a topic that has made National news as a Pastor confessed to his congregation about some unwise chatting online. He was removed from leadership, but upon closer look it appears no sin was committed, just some unwise conversation, and yet the vulnerability of the situation was broadcast to the entire church and now the nation’s watching eyes… who of course are not being gracious about it. My question became this: when did the church develop the practice of “broadcasting sin” and where did we pick up that thinking? And is it right, or the way Jesus would handle it? (Because it reminds me a lot of how the Pharisees preferred to deal with people.). So, since we all have to deal with sin in one way or another and have possibly wondered if our own sin should be broadcast when we make a mistake, I decided to do a deep dive on what DOES Jesus say, and how might he have handled this Pastor’s exit from leadership. I think this episode will bring some clarity, and even better, introduce some grace into the conversation of how to deal with a believer’s sin in a way that heals, and doesn’t do further harm.
