Huge light from prayer the other day which I want to share with ALL Y'ALL. This whole fight for grace and the avoiding of sin thing that none of us are exempt from... maybe it's about time to stop just avoiding occasions of sin and start building and fostering occasions of grace. How much of your day is filled with occasions of grace? How aware are you of those opportunities of holiness?!?!?! They are everywhere... it's just a matter of opening our heart and eyes to that awesome reality.

Here are some ideas that I've put together that may help make the Mass more meaningful for the family. The Mass is the core of our Catholic faith, and probably the most prone to "routine". Anytime is a great time to deepen in what the Mass is and how we, as a family, can really grow in our love for it.

Some simple ideas to really move from being a Catholic family that's "surviving" to a flourishing, thriving and firmly rooted Catholic home.

How do I get my son to own his own responsibilities... to inspire and empower in them the sense of leadership that I so desire for him? Just sharing three key things that I've learned over the years and try to do all the time as I accompany these young men. Dads. Totally worth considering if you want to get your boys to start being more responsible with their lives... in both the small and big things.

How do I gain the trust of my child and let them know that they are trusted? These are just a few ideas that may help guide you in doing just that. There comes a time in a child's life (prolly during their teenage years) when they start doubting their parents' trust... or testing that trust. How do we work with that?

How often we get distracted with the rush of life and we just need to slow down and take advantage of our TIME. Time is such a powerful factor that we either take for granted or undervalue. How can time be our friend and make time a means to holiness?

We cannot deny the reality of the presence of misery and "storms" in our lives. Sometimes they're bearable, sometimes they come crashing all too quickly into our lives that discouragement and doubt set in. How can I find value in this and teach my family to value it too and put it in its place. We can't perfectly escape misery, for that is the human experience. But we can find meaning in it... at least Christ did. We might as well do the same.

In one's search for true value and meaning to their faith lives, I've come to realize that there are certain "non-negotiable" ideals that every single Catholic (and even Christian) believer needs to strive for (and fight for!) to live their lives to the full. There's nothing more fulfilling then striving for these five ideals.

We know that the Eucharist is at the core of our faith, where we find true nourishment and grace. Without the Eucharist, our faith would be weak and empty. It is one of, if not, the greatest treasures of our faith. It is of infinite value. But how can I help my children and family see that? What can I do to help them see how beautiful, powerful, and necessary the Eucharist is in our lives? I invited Fr Jeremy Lambert to shed a bit of light, based on his own experience and studies. It's a tad longer than expected, but definitely worth it!!!

We live in a society that scares parents from taking on the full responsibility of parenthood and rewards the easy way out of being just "buddies" with their children. How can we fix that or work against that tendency? How can we embrace once again with love the responsibility of true parenthood? Here are some ideas to get you going.

The whole "phone" thing is a topic of discussion that never ends. So many theories and ideas and opinions. Here is mine. It's not meant to tell you what you should do, but I'm here to give you principles of judgment. You as a parent make the decisions. I'm here to remind you of key things you would need to consider as you "make the call"... pun intended.

In this journey towards building holy families, a good question to ask as we begin is... "Where do I begin"? How do we begin? What are the initial steps? And believe me, I think it begins way before you telling your kids how to pray.

This is a question that many parents have in their hearts, especially when their kids get older. There are many... thousands... millions... of ways to do this, but I only share 3. Three simple ways to get the deep conversation started.

Answering a question from one dad I know... how can I keep on loving or be motivated to love when I'm exhausted or frustrated? That's a biggie. I brought in Jacquie Lustig, a wise and experienced consecrated woman of Regnum Christi, to help answer that question. And the answer isn't as hard as you'd think!

A huge call to conscience for parents is the honest and sincere answer to this question. Based of a conversation I had recently with a friend, this is something that needs to be considered all the time. If we want to build holy families and nurture awesome children... this is one of those key realities that needs to be lived super well.

We are beginning this journey to help one another build holy families and sharing different resources and discussion points to support one another on this adventure. But before we get started, there is one question we need to ask. "Do we know where we are headed as a family?" We can't build if we don't know what we're building... and we can't journey if we don't know where we're going. And we sure need to have it very clear and present in our family's life. Always.

A simple introduction to what this podcast is all about. Many families are in search for the "perfect" solution to building a happy and holy home. This podcast hopes to provide the tools to go on that journey of discovery. The solution can only be found by each family themselves. I just hope to guide you and accompany you along the journey.
