When Big and Money meet Friday: VOL 322 Aug 202500:20:21

Finally, it’s Big Money Friday and Nick and Matt are back!

Today they are not pulling any punches, mostly because Nick is literally training for his boxing match with Page. Gloves on, trash talk ready, donut shorts optional.

But that’s not even the wild part.
Matt has unearthed a lost Phish contract rider from ’94 that demands three things at every venue:

  1. Unlimited Fresca.
  2. A single bonsai tree named “Doug.”
  3. A goat with backstage access.

Nick thinks this explains half the jams from that era. Matt swears it explains all of them.

Add in a segment called “Buy, Sell, Jam” where the hosts treat Phish songs like stock picks, and things get dangerously close to financial advice.

By the end, Nick is shadowboxing, Matt is daydreaming about Doug the bonsai, and everyone is wondering if Friday is big enough to contain this much money.

This is Insuphishient.
It’s Big. It’s Money. It’s Friday.
Let’s go.

"Podcast gives way if you listen to Steve" VOL II20 Aug 202500:19:24

Welcome to Insuphishient, the only podcast brave enough to ask: what if Phish never broke up, but the laws of physics did?

Nick arrives late because he was trapped in a revolving door at an abandoned mall. Matt shows up early.  Also he claims to have discovered a secret sixth member of Phish a man known as “Greg” who plays the "skin" trombone.

Today’s topics include:

  • Whether Trey should score the next season of Law and Order.
  • Why Page is the most likely band member to own a submarine.
  • A deep dive into the lost “Cabbage Jam” from ’92 that probably never happened.
  • And Matt’s campaign to make Pop Tarts a tour lot staple.

Along the way, Nick challenges the audience to a spelling bee, Matt insists that Mike once patented a new kind of ladder, and both agree that if Halloween isn’t announced soon, they’re dressing as Reba and Tela.

By the end, the whole episode sounds less like a podcast and more like a fever dream recorded inside a planetarium gift shop.

This is Insuphishient.
None of it’s true, but all of it’s real.
Let’s go.

A Beacon of Jams Volume: AA18 Aug 202500:21:37

Last week Nick and Matt were lost in the fourth cube of time.
Monday decided it wanted to be Wednesday.
Friday's episode blew away like a paper plate at a picnic. Never to be heard from again (Sorry).

But this week the curtain rises again.
The boys are back with three brand new shows and the spotlight is firmly on their faces.

Today they get live with it.
Nick drops a bomb of info on Matt and suddenly the stage shakes, the lights flicker, and the whole production spirals into absolute camp chaos.
By the twenty second minute the show has collapsed, the props are broken, and everyone is covered in glitter.

This is Insuphishient in all its melodramatic glory.
This is Sparta!!!!

Take a bow.
Let’s go.

When your Outsides in and your Thursday's a Wednesday!14 Aug 202500:21:20

Welcome back to World Wide Wednesday! Where Matt and Nick dig into what’s happening online and everywhere else that matters.

Also… where’s Fall Tour?
What about Halloween?
Are we getting any new Phish songs this year?

Matt heard his sound was “a little thin” last week, so this time we went the other direction.
Nick wore his least favorite Hawaiian shirt but is finally back at home, where the Wi-Fi is strong and the takes are stronger.

We’ll cover the big questions, the small questions, and yes… what is the deal with airplane food?

All that, plus whatever else happens when two people who should probably be on tour are stuck in front of microphones instead.

It’s Insuphishient.
Let’s go.

Tuesdays here with the Wind.... (yes we know what day it isn't)13 Aug 202500:19:29

When your Tuesday is a Monday, then your Wednesday is… today.

Nick and Matt are still traveling through time, bouncing between days like a bad setlist segue. Yesterday they swore it was Monday, and for them, it was, but today they’re somehow stuck in Tuesday, and yet already talking about tomorrow.

With Phish off the road, they’ve been marooned in the past, replaying old shows to fill the void. Yesterday it was Winston-Salem ‘97, a straight-up banger. Today, they’re taking this International Tuesday to the next chapter: Amsterdam ‘97.

And let me tell you… damn. That soundcheck? So fire it makes you want to smack some guy with a European name.

The threads from yesterday are still hanging: Nick is still technically on vacation (but answering calls anyway), Matt might still be “out to lunch” from the day before, and both are feeling the creeping withdrawal that comes when the band stops touring. The time travel doesn’t help.

So, we’ve got multiple timelines converging here:

  • Timeline One: Yesterday: It’s Tuesday but really Monday, and Winston-Salem still echoes in their heads.
  • Timeline Two Today: It’s Amsterdam, 1997, and the soundcheck could power the grid.
  • Timeline Three The Future: The present day, where two hosts refuse to accept the calendar’s authority.

Buckle up. This one’s a trip through eras, time zones, and at least one international incident involving a jam so nasty it should require a passport stamp.

If you are new always listen to the latest show first!

It's Monday 0'clock some where....12 Aug 202500:25:42

It’s Monday for Matt and Nick, even if, for you mere mortals, it’s somehow Tuesday.

The good news? Insuphishient is back.
Maybe better than ever.
(Probably not.)
(But maybe.)

We’re kicking things off with a straight-up banger from the Winston-Salem 100’s back in ’97, the kind of show that sticks to your ribs and leaves a mark.

Nick’s still on vacation.
Matt’s still out to lunch.
And together, they’re still bringing you the kind of chaos that makes your day just a little brighter.

Strap in.
It’s Insuphishient.

Big Money Friday is Back and this is Vol: 26 Live Phish 9508 Aug 202500:19:35

It’s Big Money Friday, and few things are as big money as Live Phish.
Today, Matt and Nick crack open a release from the legendary SPAC show of ‘95.

It was hot.
It was muggy.
Nick was there, and if you want to know whether he liked it, you’ll have to tune in (you will be shocked).

Meanwhile, Matt is attempting something called a reverse Foo-man (whatever that is), and Nick answered a call from a telemarketer… who just so happened to be at a Widespread Panic show. They hate Phish phans.
Which is honestly impressive.

It’s Friday, the band’s off the road, but Insuphishient is still delivering the content you deserve.

Have a good weekend.
Love ya.

And the Podcast Shines on Vol: 206 Aug 202500:22:27

Well well… looks like World Wide Wednesday is back, baby and Nick and Matt are here for it.
Apparently, you are too. Good thing.

It’s been many a moon since we’ve done this, and as we adjust to life off the road, our buddy Trey is out there in California having the time of his life.
And why not? Good for him.

But… why does he keep playing Shine?
Just to stick it to Nick?

Anyway, welcome back to Insuphishient’s WWW. Matt made some tea.
Soak it in, because this is the last show until Friday.

Let’s go.

If you are new always listen to the latest show first!

It's been one week VOL:3 04 Aug 202500:23:57

You know what?
"Love is what we are."
Or at least… what Trey played yesterday.

When’s the last time Phish played that song?
Answer: once.
Eight years ago.
Matt and Nick don’t even remember it.
Nick suspects it’s made up.
Matt thinks it might be a contagious.

But yes,  we are bitter.
Nick is bitter.
Matt, once again, still can’t believe "it’s not butter."

As the tour dust settles and the world turns dull, Insuphishient returns to its regularly scheduled chaos.
This week’s Soundcheck is the first of three brand new shows.

No setlist today.
Just two guys spiraling through the withdrawals of a band gone quiet.

S.P.A.C. Night 3: It was about You, It was about Me.01 Aug 202500:17:57

It’s the last Friday of July, and Insuphishient has returned to bring you what might be the ph-inest Phish show of the summer. Maybe even the century.

From the moment you heard the second song, you knew it was on.
Forget “Same Set Reprise”, Trey flipped the script and changed the whole damn debate.

And what followed this never heard before placement of your beloved tune? A heroic, ice-cold (no fatties) charge led by the Four Phishmen of the Apocalypse.

All night long you went in and out of the freezer, into Glory, into Madness.

It felt... personal. It felt... perfect (thank you). But mostly... it felt like Phish at SPAC in summer.

Tune in for this epic breakdown of one unforgettable night (run)… only on Insuphishient.

Life Saving Show VoL: Myfe30 Jul 202500:14:15

We cannot type swears or the show will get restricted but feel free to add your own favorite expletives in celebration: fgadsf sgfikudhf sdjdfhh sjdf sdjfh ksjdfh!

Just when you thought Night One would hold the crown, Night Two at SPAC came waltzing in like a Page rearing Crocs and whispered, “Hold my tuna sandwich.”

The look of joy on the band’s faces will move you. The music will groove you. And the sound of Matt and Nick taking about Phish will soothe you. And on Friday we are going to play so much Tweezer Reprise JEMP is going to sue you ( Nick and Matt).
Anyways, If Phish still did "live releases", this show wouldn’t just make the cut.
It would set the bar. High. High Like Trey raised KOA 1.5 to the clouds during the promise made the night before.

This isn’t financial advice,
but if you can buy stock in this show?
Do it.
Do it now. Do it Myfe.

It’s rare these two hosts are left speechless...
But look at the runtime.
Trey said everything for them. "Myfe"

The Promise Vol: SPAC 28 Jul 202500:19:25

Well, we’ve come to the saddest day of the summer.

Phish has wrapped up their summer tour.
True, there are six more shows on the books but you’ll have to wait 46 days or as we call it,  2 Gordons.

But not all hope is lost.
The band just finished a run at S.P.A.C. that will go down in the history books.

Starting with Night one.  Trey made a promise.
A promise so outrageous, so ridiculous, that the odds of keeping it were microscopic.
However, against all odds is exactly where Trey likes to live. Where he thrives. Where the rest of us give up, he gets up.

Even the great René Huemer stood in awe as he snapped a photo he took many times before but never at the opening of a show.
What he captured was our hero hoisting the KOA 1.5 high above his head like some strange relic. This was not just a gesture.

It was a summoning. A spell. An incantation. The Band transformed. From four guys in cool shirts (especially Mike and Page) into the immortal Phish-men.

And on today’s episode of Insuphishient, Matt and Nick make sense of it all.

Plus Cheese!

The SPAC Shack Vol: 125 Jul 202500:21:50

Ladies and gentlemen… we’ve reached that bittersweet stretch of summer where only three shows remain.

Sure, a few gigs loom down south in September but let’s be real, that’s fall tour. (Sorry Halloween hopers, but we call it like we see it.)

So onward we go to SPAC:
A venue dripping in memory and myth.
Nick’s first taste? 1995. (I think they actually played Taste)
Matt’s? 2004. (they did not play Taste)
One was still a boy. The other a man. God. Sh1T.

Expectations in the lot are high.
This summer has had some amazing peaks (and what's lower than a Valley?).
All in all, exactly how we like it.

Today on Insuphishient we gently, gently glaze over Forest Hills nights one and two like they’re overcooked bagels and then we yank the ripcord straight into SPAC.

Because whatever happens this weekend, we are lucky.
Lucky to have this tour.
Lucky to have this band.
Lucky to all be in this weird universe together.

Let’s take it home.
It’s Phish. It’s SPAC. It’s Insuphishient.

Let’s go.

Some podcasts aren't planed: Volume OZ23 Jul 202500:15:57

Well, the Prince of Darkness has left this earthly plane… but Nick and Matt? Still here. Still talking Phish.

What started as a coping mechanism turned into a full-blown episode of Insuphishient.  Your favorite Phish Talk Show and the only one bold enough to accidentally get distracted from grief by a particularly good second set.

Did anyone say anything groundbreaking?
Maybe.
Was everyone in the tiny tennis court on time?
Looked like it.

Are we going to go over Forest Hills Night 1. Not even close.

Today’s show: Chicago Night 3.

Did Nick forget about the bad news until Matt reminded him at the end?
Absolutely. That’s the power of live music, baby.

So plug in.
Space out.
Turn up.

Peace.

Chicago Night 2: 7 below the Number line22 Jul 202500:22:33

3…2…1… and Matt and Nick are back!

Today on Insuphishient, we’re diving headfirst into Night 2 in the Meatstick Capital of the World.  Where they sold the merch… but didn’t play the song. Bold move.

For one host, it was the show of a lifetime.
For the other? Just another Saturday night jam.

Which was which? Place your bets now.

Also By the end of the night, a few of The Line(s) had shifted,  And maybe, just maybe, the guy playing guitar was the one setting them.

Also: Nick comes dangerously close to admitting that a certain “tease” may, in fact, be… an actual song and they actually played it!
All while Matt walks by a CSI Unit and never notices.
And for some reason, there’s a segment about knitting a beanie for cold summer nights. What’s up with that?

History is made. Minds and lines are changed. Meatsticks remain uneaten.

Act 1: "Setting the Stage"21 Jul 202500:18:28

Well, well, well. A bet was made… and the (pied) piper needs to be paid.

OK, not quite on today's show, but still, keep those betting slips (handy).

First, we need to talk about Chicago Night One. The band came from behind to take an easy series lead with a show that somehow ended before it started… and yet covered every space between (me (you) and my mind).

Yesterday, you got a nibble. A teaser. A free sample, courtesy of Nick’s ongoing war with South American server cables (Are you sure about that?).

But today? Today you get the whole Bathtub, Piping hot, Full (of something). Was that Gin? Delivered straight to your face.

Did Matt remember the name of the ven(ewe)?
Did Nick finally get a 20(25) debut?

Did Trey call us clowns and then flex? (Enter the Gladiator > DEG > Tequila)

There are only five shows left before the summer break (all in New York State).

The band is peaking (maybe all-time peaking).
The fans are freaking (out).
Nick is metaphorically (literally) speaking.
Matt is thinking about cheek(ing).

It’s all happen(ing).
It’s Insu(phish)ient.
It’s Chi(ca)go.

Free Sample Insuphishient Vol II: Edgar's Server Guide19 Jul 202500:05:00

Nick and Matt are back…
Are they?
Kind of.
Sort of.
But not really.
But yes really.

It’s Chicago Night One and we were supposed to have a full episode.
But then Nick decided to route our audio through what he calls his “secure backup system,” which apparently is just a guy named Edgar in Uruguay with a 2006 Dell and a dial-up modem.

So instead of a full show, you’re getting a Free Sample.
Volume 2, baby.

What’s in it?

  • Matt recites part of a cheese label
  • Nick plays a kazoo solo over a recording of Trey breathing
  • There’s a game called “Is This Show Real?”
  • And a 90-second moment of silence for Page’s monogramed Cufflinks

Blame the server.
Blame Nick.
But mostly — enjoy this bite-sized morsel while we reboot our entire lives before Chicago Night Two.

It’s a Free Sample. It’s Nick’s fault. It’s still Insuphishient.

Big Money Friday: Betting on the Band18 Jul 202500:26:35

Yes yes yes... Matt and Nick are back for a very special edition of Big Money Friday.

No, they’re not talking about anything financially sound.
No, you won’t get the inside scoop on the next GameStop short squeeze.

But yes, you will get Mann Night Two.
And yes, the band is heading straight into a three-night Chi-Town heater.

The odds?

  • Over/under on songs from Gamehendge: (the line) 2
  • Harpua: +2500
  • Dave’s Energy Guide: 10,000 to 1
  • Odds Matt and Nick beat Page and Fish in a tag-team, winner-take-all, chairs-and-ladders match: None

Regardless, these shows will be good.
The jams will be hottt.
And Mike? Mike’s gonna be thirsty.

Also — did we ever get to the bottom of that Trey and Cher thing?

Tune in. Turn out.
Get down with your bad self.

Mann Down 16 Jul 202500:20:33

It’s Wednesday afternoon and Matt and Nick are back!! They may or may not be hiding in a bunker, as a few symbolic shots appear to have been fired their way.

Phish just played The Mann and man, did they play it.

In what can only be described as a direct response to previous episodes, the band took turns shredding amazing songs and proving Matt and Nick completely wrong.

We’ve got one word for you: Myfe. David Bowie and a god damn VACUUM solo!

The second Mann show is just a few hours away, so plug in, get weird, and let your phavorite Phish Talkshow walk you straight into the storm.

I Am the Walrus Charleston Night Two15 Jul 202500:19:14

Hear ye, hear ye. Insuphishient has returned and today we’re talking about your favorite band.....  Phish.

It’s Night Two in Charleston and the chompers were out early, Smiles and thumbs up all around. The band? Absolutely ripping. This one had reach.

You are the egg man? No, I am the egg man.

Wait... I AM the walrus.

Then, Matt gives out his mother’s maiden name again. Nick reveals the last four of his social “just in case.”

So before The Mann cracks open for Night One, get in the zone with this very podcast. There’s a Funky Bitch in new-new fancy clothes on the horizon. Strap in.

Monday, July 14 — Live from the Bottom14 Jul 202500:24:11

Matt and Nick are back and this time, they’re live. Like live live. And sure, Phish just played a heater of a weekend in Charleston — but even at Harvard, somebody’s gotta graduate last in the class.

That’s right, we’re starting with Night One.

The sky? Blue.
The moon? Spanish.
The “Turtle in the Clouds”? Nowhere to be found. (Check back in 48 hours.)

Matt won’t stop saying “kettle chip.” Nick’s trying to do short division in his head with visible consequences. And yes, there’s a homemade gazpacho recipe in the mix, because it’s summer and this is still a podcast.

It’s Monday. It’s live. It’s sweaty.

Big Money Friday: Hot Pockets & Antelopes 11 Jul 202500:22:20

Big Money Friday is back, y’all and so is your favorite Phish Talk Show that knows just enough to be dangerous.

Today on Insuphishient, Matt and Nick take strange to new elevations as they cover the Ohio show that opened with a suspiciously confident “AC/DC Bag” and closed with an “Antelope” that may or may not have looked directly at them.

On today's show, Nick didn't mention the lights over Mike, but he did definitely noticed that durning the AC/DC Jam, they stayed locked in place while the rest moved symmetrically. Nice Chris! Very Subtle!

Matt says “hi” in five languages, three of which might be made up. There's a hot pocket knockoff recipe. There’s a brief conversation about “Glide” that goes up in flames. Plus So Much More!!

Also since the , the "Chew" Won't start till tonight at 8:00 PM, with a Llama Opener, this is your time to get you pre-sho-Phish-phix (-Espish-If-ya-Aint-got-Tix).

Plug in. Press play.

Thursday Party Time: Thumb Wars & Freedom Rock10 Jul 202500:21:17

Matt and Nick are back and they’ve got opinions. Lots of them. Colorado night 3 lit the fuse and today on Insuphishient, it’s nothing but sparks, thumbs, and questionable financial advice.

The boys break down the show the only way they know how,  wildly inconsistent thumbs up, thumbs down. Nick flips mid-episode. Matt gives a double thumb sideways. No one knows what it means but everyone feels it.

Also:

  • Matt reveals the last four digits of his social AND his mom’s maiden name
  • Nick explains how to secure an SBA loan using a setlist from 1997
  • A listener text asks "Is Freedom Rock Man?” and Matt screams “Yeah Man”

The energy is unstable. The tape is rolling.

Colorado Night 2: The Mic, the Myth, The Guyute09 Jul 202500:17:26

As Phish marches into Ohio, Matt and Nick emerge from a mysterious audio haze with a brand new episode — not on time, but right on brand. Today, they attempt to cover Colorado Night 2, a show Matt calls “legit” and Nick calls “wait, what day is it?”

Nick’s mic is cooked. Burnt. Glowing like an orb at a rave in 2007. Meanwhile, Matt is grinning like Guyute himself,  shoutout to Ari (Guyute was the friendly pig right?). Derek may or may not be trapped in a portal behind the merch table.

Elsewhere in this episode:

• One of them loses their notes
• The other gains mysterious lisp
• No one pronounces “Cuyahoga” the same way twice

Are We halfway through the run?

Sports talk radio for Phish is back and The takes are uneven. The vibes are spicy. The mic is too hot.

It’s Insuphishient. Summer is heating up. Let’s go.

Austin Night 2: Runes, Pickles, and Slim Hopes03 Jul 202500:21:19

Matt and Nick are back, baby — and this might be their best episode of the week. The show they’re covering? Well… it was night two in Austin.... You get it.

But don’t get it twisted,  this tour’s not even halfway and Page is just starting to boil. On today’s episode:

  • Matt breaks down the sacred geometry of “Spin the Pickle” and why it can only be played under a waning gibbous.
  • Nick claims Fatboy Slim is spiritually behind the New Age Movement. No one disagrees, but no one knows what he means.
  • There’s an extended bit about horse metaphors. "Hay what can we Say?"
  • Someone accidentally invents a new type of microphone called the “Throat Wand.” ZERO PREORDERS so far

And yes — the energy is building. Colorado is nigh.

The Phans are stirring. The pickles are spinning.

July 2: Austin 1: The Heat Was Sentient02 Jul 202500:19:43

Matt and Nick return from the great Texas unknown with stories of Austin Night 1.

Spoiler alert, they liked the show....

A show so sweaty it qualified as a steam room with a  Cities so loose it legally counted as interpretive dance.

The crowd came ready. The band came more than usual. Derek brought a snake and claimed it was his plus one.

Page didn't play shirtless.

Nick kept calling it “Night 1: in the bun.” No one stopped him.

Also:
• Mike debuted a new pedal called “The Rattler”.
• Moose stole things
• Matt lost his voice but gained clarity
• Someone mistook Fishman for a rodeo clown, and he just went with it

It was weird. It was wet. It was real... probably.

Austin Night 1. Let’s not forget it, even though it might not have happened.

The return of the FREE SAMPLE: “Back to Insufficient”01 Jul 202500:19:11

After what felt like a 42 hour gap of dead air and existential dread, your favorite Phish Talk Show returns with a (re)vengeance. We left you hanging with a sample episode that felt like a fever dream in a CVS parking lot, so we’re balancing the scales with a full-force Tuesday drop straight from the glitchy depths of our recording rig.

This one? Oh, this one’s a return to form — Matt’s on fire, Nick’s mildly clothed, and the band is catching heat from both sides. We get into Trey’s haircut, Fishman’s resurrection arc, Paige’s disappearing act, and whether or not anyone in the band is still showing up on purpose. Also: Roosters Barbershop, ticket prices, and the question on no one’s mind — “Is this band still a grower?”

It’s summer tour. It’s summer scorn. It’s a free episode because we lost one in the wash. Consider this a peace offering — and a warning.

Insuphishient. Accept no substitutes.

A Free Sample from the Only Podcast Legally Banned in Seven States29 Jun 202500:04:43

Matt and Nick return with a very special giveaway: today’s episode is on the house. Why? Because we accidentally deleted the feed midway through the show. And before the data ends up like your car keys, in the freezer behind the peas, we are giving it away.

But don’t worry. This one’s pure-grade, artisanal, grass-fed Insuphishient.

The boys review recent Phish shows with the kind of emotional restraint you'd expect from two people arguing about water intake. Matt thinks a gallon is too much. Nick thinks you can drown in joy. Neither one blinks.

There’s also a very serious debate about Mike’s bass solos, whether Fishman secretly hates drum solos (he does), and if you can feather a hi-hat with your mind.

Also:
• Setlist thumbs-ups and wild tangents
• The "Eskimo Shroud" makes an unauthorized return
• Nick discovers left-hand softness
• Matt is probably still in the can

It’s summer tour. It’s free. It’s highly questionable.
Let’s go.

SNHU Night Tre: T.C.T.A.W.H.27 Jun 202500:17:41

Matt and Nick are back in the bunker, covered in chalk dust and emotionally rattled from a night that may or may not have happened. Did Phish play SNHU again? Was that real? Is the arena real? Why was the bathroom line 43 minutes long and entirely made up of mannequins?

The boys attempt to recount what happened, but it quickly turns into a meditation on onion rings, late-stage Tweezerism, and a brief tangent about whether or not Fishman is in a secret ska band with Mike Gordon’s chiropractor.

There’s a possible bust-out of “Theme from Antiques Roadshow.” Matt found a glowstick with a phone number on it. Nick saw a guy eat a laminated hotdog. The vibes were confusing, like a dream you keep waking up into.

Also: someone played "Sleeping Monkey" on steal drums during setbreak. Might have been Trey. Might have been Derek. No one's really sure.

The mic is hot. The facts are loose. The fog machine won’t turn off.

Let’s go.

SNHU Night 2: N.H.B.E.B.26 Jun 202500:18:23

Matt and Nick return from a 48-hour silent retreat in the food court of a Connecticut mall, only to discover a setlist etched into a stone tablet behind an Orange Julius.

Naturally, they treat it as prophecy.

The show? Played backwards. Literally. Encore first. Opener last. Page wore a cape made of setbreak nachos. Fishman only responded to questions by playing cowbell. Trey announced every song title like a game show host. Mike never blinked. Not once.

Nick brought a slide whistle. Matt brought a mood.

Also:

  • Someone turned the entire lawn into a Slip ‘n Slide
  • There was a second set, but it was only visible through kaleidoscope glasses
  • An audience member claimed the show cured their fear of lasers

If this is the new era, it’s already broken,  in the best possible way.

It’s Insuphishient. It’s tomorrow. It’s upside down.

Just kidding, SNHU night 2! "Lil's little adventure in Gamehendge"

Let’s go.

Wednesday, June 25 — T. S. S. O. E.25 Jun 202500:19:18

Matt’s hat brim is too flat. Trey's tone sounds like a sneeze in a velvet glove. Nick might be in sleep mode. Fishman sneezed 37 times, and Matt brought a trombone to a kazoo fight.

Page? Allegedly there. Possibly microwaving a burrito in the green room.

We tried to recap night one at SNHU but accidentally invented a new genre: Ass to Themecore. It's all MoMA, no Movement. The grill was cold. The crowd was hot. The vibe was “"Doors at Four" becomes a lifestyle. The band clocked out at early, yawn.

Also:

  • Nick’s tone is fierce, but alone
  • Matt withers into dust mid-episode
  • We refuse to fix anything, especially the facts
  • Trey might be recovering from New Year’s 2014

It's only night one. The Rubik’s cube is scrambled. The sneeze count is live.
Let’s go. Or let’s nap. Either way… it's Insuphishient.

Big Money Friday Presents: Tour Opener Vol 320 Jun 202500:20:20

The summer tour has officially begun, and Matt and Nick are absolutely losing structural integrity. We’re talking foaming-at-the-lips-outside-a-Porta-Potty levels of anticipation. SPAC 6/20/04 is the flashback anchor, but everything else is spiraling: the marshmallows, the conspiracy chairs, the questionable use of the phrase “meatstick-orgasm energy.”

Matt invents a new metric called Setlist Elasticity and insists it’s real. Nick tries to name every Phish song that starts with the letter M and ends up creating a religion instead. Someone in the crowd might have yelled “Nicole ran out” and we’re fully counting it as canon.

Also:

  • Fishman might be the secret CEO of TikTok
  • The band better Not play all the new songs tonight so we don’t miss them
  • It's going to get sloppy (bring a tarp)

The mics are hot. The vibes are combustible. The summer begins now.
Let’s go.

Thursday, June 19 — We Made It to Manchester (where is everybody)19 Jun 202500:20:04

Matt and Nick are back and so is the chaos. Today’s episode digs up the dustiest gem in the post-2000 attic: Manchester, NH — 10/26/10, the last and only time they played Manchester. The bust outs are wild. The smells are suspicious. The band plays “Sloth” and the audience politely gasps.

Somewhere in the background, a guy in a hockey jersey is yelling “IT’S HAPPENING” for the seventh time.

Matt swears “Alumni Blues” was a mistake. Nick accuses someone of using Mango Song in a commercial. There’s a reggae section that may or may not have been a FIRE. And a cop walks by the venue then decides to retire.

Also:
— Mike gets assigned the town of Claremont
— Page is hungry
— Fish is Thirsty
— Trey is looking for a good text chain

It’s a show that only happened once, for a reason.
It’s Thursday. It’s New Hampshire. It’s Insuphishient.
Let’s go.

Soundcheck: Welcome to New York (Kinda) 16 Jun 202500:24:33

Matt and Nick pull into the city with full hearts, empty notes, and a faint whiff of pretzel truck exhaust. It’s Soundcheck Monday, and the week ahead is so packed even Fishman would need a second donut dress to hold it all.

We preview what’s coming (hint: the big stuff), unpack a few listener texts, and accidentally start planning a live show from the Staten Island Ferry. Nick claims he's never technically been to New York. Matt insists Times Square was originally a mistake. The truth is somewhere between a MOMA gift shop and a Krazno aftershow.

Also: a suspicious amount of deli talk, a brief detour into condiment philosophy, and a challenge to guess what Mike Gordon’s middle name should be.

It’s Soundcheck. It’s New York. And it’s going to be a week.

Let’s go.

Worldwide Wednesday: Darien Lake ‘9311 Jun 202500:19:55

We’re nine days out from tour and things are getting deranged. Matt’s got a secret parking spot, Nick’s got a four-state theory for band members, and together they’re deep in your earbuds breaking down August 7, 1993 — the molten, maze-laced Darien Lake show that may or may not include a minor satanic ritual. It’s all there: Stash with Dave’s Energy Guide tease, Gamehenge galore, Fishman on vacuum, Trey with allergies, and Mike teasing lullabies.

Reba has no whistle. Antelope has twinkle. Cavern is dark and dirty. Closure is back.

Let’s go.

Tuesday, June 10 — International Jams: Only Once, Again10 Jun 202500:22:14

Matt and Nick cross international borders the only way they know how: without leaving Worcester. We’re talking 2/27/03 — a show that makes only once feel like a tradition. Four songs show up that each have exactly one live performance, and somehow none of them are “Destiny Unbound.” You do the math.

Matt says the set was like finding a rare vinyl in your uncle’s basement. Nick says his uncle was the vinyl. Nobody really follows up.

Also in this episode:

  • Someone keeps texting “only once” like it’s a warning
  • Nick tries to trade his shoes for a soundboard
  • Matt unpacks a theory about Worcester being an energy vortex
  • Nobody’s sure if we’re joking anymore

It’s International Jams.
It’s Worcester.
It’s only once. Four times.
Let’s go.

Friday, June 6th — Big Money Friday: Lost Episodes and Big Feelings06 Jun 202500:16:00

Matt and Nick are back and somehow Elisa is still speaking to them. Big Money Friday hits the feed with a shorter-than-usual episode — not because the takes weren’t hot, but because the entire Thursday episode vanished like your car keys the one time you really needed to be somewhere.

Gone. Lost. Ghosted by the cloud.

But never fear: today's show still brings the heat. Matt tries to explain something with a metaphor that collapses halfway through. Nick keeps saying “we’re doing numbers” even though they absolutely are not.

Also:

  • A half-baked idea for a Phish-themed pasta shape.
  • One listener says their cat threw up during the episode and "it felt symbolic."
  • Rodger remains the voice of reason. Which should terrify everyone.

Short episode. Big chaos. Huge implications.

It’s Big Money Friday. Let’s go.

World Wide Wednesdays are back with a real/fake show: VOL 804 Jun 202500:22:02

The signal is shaky. The mic is hot. And the texts? Out of control.
Matt and Nick are back for another World Wide Wednesday, and today’s episode is what happens when you leave the internet alone for too long.

Listeners are sending in fake song titles, real conspiracy theories, and one photo of Trey edited onto a block of Vermont cheddar. Nick insists it's legit. Matt refuses to blink. The show never recovers.

Also:

  • Someone thinks Mike’s bass is haunted (again).
  • A rumor surfaces that Fishman bought a weather balloon.
  • We finally hear back from that one guy who tried to crowdsource a tour bus using only BeReal. It went exactly how you think.

The internet has turned inward. The takes are boiling. And we still don’t know who keeps texting the word “Scents.” Just that it’s working.

It’s World Wide Wednesday. Plug in, scroll weird. Let’s go.

International Jam's flavor of the week is: Mike Gordon’s Birthday Blowout (Organic coffee serves in a dope sneaker Local sourced from a no-kill Wook Shelter))03 Jun 202500:23:18

It’s International Jams, it’s Mike Gordon’s birthday, and it’s not Cooter’s. Let’s clear that up immediately.

Nick and Matt touch down in the Niagara Falls ’95 show — a rare Tuesday night when the band dropped Mike’s Song → Weekapaug like it owed them money. The show was so fire it blew snow sideways into Canada. Which counts as international.

Meanwhile, Matt goes full Sudbury historian and unearths Mike’s early roots:

  • The Barnstormers (actual name)
  • And the legendary mystery of a keyboardist named Derek who may or may not have been too good

Nick tries to suggest Mike’s Song was written by Trey, accidentally triggers a minor musical crisis, and then spirals into a live re-ranking of Mike Gordon originals:

Also in this episode:

  • Listener call ins
  • lost cat found, collar say HARPUA
  • Nick claims Meat is “the sexual language of the mole people”
  • Matt confesses he thought Son of a Mule was a Mexican folk song until 2019

And yes — Niagara Falls counts as international barely. We just mist it (get it?).

Happy birthday, Mike.
Thanks for the bass, the chaos, and the sock game.

It’s International Jams. Let’s go.

Insuphishient presents: Maya, Mayans, and Margarine02 Jun 202500:23:03

Matt and Nick are back, and this time they brought reinforcements. Please welcome Maya, our first official guest of the week, a certified Goosehead, and an all-around jam band Jedi. She knows the difference between a peak and a plateau. She’s not afraid of a synth solo. And she brought snacks.

Nick, upon hearing the name “Maya,” assumes the actual Mayans are joining the show and starts asking about long counts and prophecy.
Matt spends the first six minutes trying to understand how “it’s not butter” but also “tastes like butter” and nearly derails the episode entirely.
Meanwhile, Maya shows up prepared, focused, and instantly outshines them both.

On today’s show:

  • Goose vs. Phish? We go there.
  • Maya reveals her dream setlist and it’s terrifyingly good
  • Nick accuses a plant of lying
  • Matt mispronounces “Anastasio” as “Anaconda-stasio”
  • Someone sends a listener text that just says: “I’m scared of Peter’s rig”

This week, the format is loose. The guests are real. The vibes are checked.

It’s Soundcheck. It’s Maya. It’s Monday. Let’s go.

Shakespear presents: Big Money Friday top 100 Phish songs 025-00130 May 202500:21:06

So here we are, the summit of the sound,
The twenty-five that shook both lot and lawn.
Matt wears a cape. Nick levitates mid-pound.
This final block is where the myths are drawn.

They didn’t make the list, but now they reign.
These songs arrive like thunderstorms in June.
Each track’s a wound, a whisper, or a flame.
Some made you cry. Some left the Earth too soon.

Today’s show holds:
– A crowd-wide scream at song #19
– Nick insisting “YEM” is technically a soup
– Matt quoting Forbin mid-emotional spiral
– And a voicemail from Derek threatening to trademark “Set One Closer™”

Also:

  • The final five were unveiled by a child on the back of a centaur
  • #3 caused a blackout in the studio
  • #1 made a guy on shakedown drop to his knees and whisper “they got it right”

Let’s raise a toast to jam charts, fights, and dreams,
To Fluff and Foam, to Maze and Mercy too.
The kings and queens of tangled setlist schemes—
They played, we changed, and still they play us through.

This is Big Money Friday. This is twenty-five to one. This is it. Let’s go.

Insuphishient presents: Songs 50–26 29 May 202500:21:31

Things have gotten weird on Insuphishient

We’re deep into the Top 100 Phish Songs of All Time countdown and the pressure is getting to the hosts.

Matt is now only speaking in Spanish.
Nick has developed a stress-induced lisp.

And yet somehow, we’re still counting down the tracks — #50 through #26, the messy middle where the jams are hot, the opinions are loud, and the show starts to sound like the Grateful Dead just peeked around the corner and whispered: "Don’t tell me this town ain’t got no heart…"

Because it does.

Today’s episode features:

  • A tense debate over #42, which Matt insists is “la canción del sol interior”
  • Nick attempting to say “Fuego” with dignity and failing
  • A listener text that just says “What street is this?” followed by a photo of an actual shakedown
  • A full three-minute detour where Nick demands justice for Bug and Matt responds, “No hay problema, pero no.”

Also:

  • #33 makes Matt scream into a pillow
  • #27 is played backwards through a fish tank while Nick recites Trey’s Wikipedia page with tears in his eyes
  • Someone submitted “A Day in the Life” five times. It didn’t help. (Should have made the list)

We’re not at the top yet, but we can see it. And the heat is rising.

This Day in Phish-Tory. Tracks 50 through 26. Don’t tell me this show ain’t got no weird… Let’s go.

Insuphishient Presents 75-51 of the TOP 100 Phish songs28 May 202500:20:20

World Wide Wednesday: 75–51 (The Buffet Bracket)

Today on Insuphishient, the countdown continues and the stakes are mild.

Matt and Nick are back with Part 2 of the Top 100 Phish Songs of All Time, covering that elusive Jimmy Buffett demographic range — #75 to #51 — where fan favorites rub elbows with songs that were played twice, then once again in a parking lot, and yet still made the list.

Today’s show features:

  • Cold takes
  • Mike Justice
  • Matt, revealed to be two small men in a trench coat
  • And Nick, once again podcasting naked under a blanket he calls The Eskimo Shroud

Also:

  • Matt sees #66 and laughs so hard he has to mute his mic
  • Nick thinks he’s been disbarred, but it turns out he was just practicing without a license

This list isn’t getting easier. Or truer. Or more legal.
Tomorrow we hit the top 50. Nick, Please put some clothes on.
You can’t take your shirt off before the Trey "ballads."

It’s World Wide Wednesday. It’s 75 through 51. Let’s go.

Insuphishient Presents the top 100 Phish songs of all time: 100 - 7627 May 202500:22:09

Matt and Nick are kicking off a full week of Phish song rankings — the Top 100 of All Time, as voted by listeners, bots, liars, and one guy who mailed in a VHS tape labeled "Best of 2008"

Today we start at the bottom. Songs 100 through 76.
And no, we didn’t make this list. We don’t know who did.
We found it in a Google Doc titled “Wilson is King”.
So we opened it.

Some of these songs are underrated. Some are exactly where they belong.
Some might start fights. One might summon the wrath of Fishman.
We’re not saying the list is wrong — we’re just saying it’s definitely not right.

Also in this episode:

  • Nick losses his clothes
  • Matt gets emotional about a tune he once saw in a dream
  • We consider changing the name of the show to “The Curtain With a Podcast”
  • A listener text just says, “If Destiny Unbound isn’t top 50 I’m unsubscribing”

This is only the beginning.
All week long, we’re counting down the Top 100 — 25 songs at a time.
And when we get to #1, there better be a parade. Or at least a vacuum solo.

It’s International Jams. It’s Tuesday. It’s songs 100 to 76. Let’s go.

Big Money Friday is "Turning the Page" Volume 123 May 202500:20:47

Forget about Thursday or hat happened to that show...

Matt and Nick return with big plans, blurry spreadsheets, and one very real fake album: Turning the Page — a 12-track collaboration project starring Page McConnell and… well, whoever we can legally pretend said yes.

Each track is a genre-bending duet built entirely on rumors, dreams, and vibes.

  • Page x Maxwell — “Laminated Desire”
  • Page x St. Vincent — “Clavicle Tension”
  • Page x Doja Cat — untitled, unreleasable, might already exist in the cloud
  • Page x Himself — “Waiting Room Jam (Demo)”

Meanwhile, we’re still recovering from 4/20 in Portland, The Bg money Phish radio show of the week.

  • Matt says he “blacked on.”
  • Nick kept whispering, "the Files are inside the computer".
  • Someone in section 121 claimed they astral projected.

Also on the ledger:

  • Derek is trying to crowdfund a jukebox that only plays Page solos
  • A listener pitched “Fishman’s Rug Emporium” as a touring side hustle
  • Nick’s been trying to trademark the phrase “Live Laugh Loop”

This album will never come out.
But the merch is already in production.

It’s Big Money Friday. We’re Turning the Page. Let’s go.

WWW - May Two One: Who Are These Guys?21 May 202500:22:38

The mics are hot (Stolen), the inbox is overflowing (Swollen), and Matt and Nick are about to learn things about themselves they maybe didn’t want to know(Spolin). It’s World Wide Wednesday, and the internet has turned the lens around(Scrollin).

Listener polls. Old posts. Confessions. One anonymous message that says “Nick is just Matt with a hat.” Nobody knows what that means, but everyone agrees.

Elsewhere:
Someone claims they saw Matt at a gas station arguing with a can of Red Bull.
Nick accidentally reveals his backup podcast idea: “Trey’s Beef: A cooking show.”
A Twitter account named "OnFishman" (with a "Hard On") is sending cryptic memes again.
SO:
The internet keeps glitching.
The facts are getting personal.
The feed is watching.

It’s World Wide Wednesday. Let’s go.

International Jams presents: Mexico Vol infinity 20 May 202500:23:03

Matt and Nick have returned to the beach. Not physically — spiritually. Emotionally. Maybe legally? It’s 2/21/19 in Riviera Maya, and International Jams is dripping wet.

The night is humid. The grooves are sdank. The moon was high. This wasn’t a concert, it’s a mirage with a setlist.

Matt claims he hates Mexico shows in rhythm. Nick keeps saying “I’m pretty sure I was there” but refuses to confirm.

Also:

  • Stop texting picks of you in your speedo
  • There was no set 3
  • To the woman in the front row, Nice.
  • 2001 or 2022??

We’re sunburnt, unprepared, and deeply invested.
It’s International Jams. It’s Mexico.

Soundcheck for the Week Of May 19th: Volume 319 May 202500:26:07

Monday, May 19 — Soundcheck: The Week Is Baked-In

Matt and Nick are back with a fresh batch of nonsense, mild planning, and full acknowledgment that yes, all the usual shows are happening this week. No guest hosts. No mystery themes. Just your two favorite spiraling co-hosts stumbling into another five-day jam of Phish-related chaos.

Here’s the lineup:
Tuesday: International Jams heads somewhere that requires a passport and a disclaimer. Also Brazil??
Wednesday: World Wide Wednesday gets weird and probably breaks the comment section. Plus, Can you Make room for some nubes?
Thursday: This Day in Phish–tory dares to ask, “Was this show actually good?” And more....
Friday: Big Money Friday promises fake business pitches, fake merch, and one real meltdown. Plus the Phish Radio Show of the week.

Also:

  • Matt keeps calling it “Sweepstakes Week” for some reason.
  • Nick has already lost the schedule.
  • Listener texts are already some of the best ideas we have had.

We’re soundchecking the week. We’re back.
Let’s go.

Happy Happy to the ONLY PERSON who has EVER done a piano solo like he was being hit in the head by a COMET (Page)17 May 202500:22:38

Matt and Nick are back after a week off, and what better way to warm up the mics than with a full-blown Page McConnell birthday celebration episode. Yes, the Chair-"Birthday Boy" of the Boards himself just leveled up, and Insuphishient is here to (barely) hold it together in his honor.

Matt opens with a heartfelt tribute that gets derailed by a tangent about yacht rock. Nick insists Page invented jazz in 1997. Neither can explain what a clavinet actually does, but both agree Page probably knows more than we do.

Plus:

  • They Make Fun of Trey
  • A brief attempt to build a band of four Pages
  • Nick accidentally insults every keyboardist alive
  • A surprise Text Message from someone who claims to be Page’s College Limo driver (it’s not)

The band is almost back. The Summer tour is almost here.
But Page is already eternal.
