Scheduled but was not able to join due to travel delays.

Bobbi Rebell, CFP®, is the founder of Financial Wellness Strategies and the author of Launching Financial Grownups, a go-to guide for helping (almost) adult kids become money smart. Key Highlights:

1. Breaking the Silence on Tough Conversations
According to Dr. Moira Somers, many families avoid uncomfortable discussions about aging, health, and money—which only leads to bigger problems later. She encourages families to plan ahead: "If you have [these conversations] a decade at least in advance...you can be thoughtful and caring and have, you know, be candid about how hard it might be." Proactively talking about financial help, household changes, and even when to stop driving sets the stage for smoother transitions.

2. Family Loans: More Than Money on the Line
Lynnette Khalfani-Cox sheds light on why family loans so often turn sour. She urges clarity: "If you know...whoever you're loaning money to has already not paid you back...take off the rose colored glasses." She notes it's vital to formalize these deals to avoid resentment and preserve relationships—because loans can impact family bonds for years, not just bank accounts.

3. Preparing for Legacy and Heirlooms
Both panelists agree: settling an estate isn't just legal—it's deeply emotional. Transparent processes, open inventory, and discussing "the why" behind gifts and heirlooms help families avoid the heartbreak of sibling feuds. Dr. Somers adds, "We ask heirlooms and possessions to do things that they were never capable of doing." The episode explores how sharing your intentions openly—while you're still here—can bring families closer together.

4. Blended Families Need Extra Clarity
Blended families face even more complexity. Lynnette Khalfani-Cox emphasizes the importance of communication, aligning on values, and using structures like prenuptial agreements and QTIP trusts to protect everyone's interests. Discussing obligations and honoring prior commitments sets the foundation for multi-generational wealth and stability.

Call-to-Action

One thing to do this week: start one conversation you've been putting off. It could be asking your parents where key documents are, setting expectations with an adult child, or clarifying a financial boundary. You don't need all the answers. You just need to open the door.

Investing in Art: Unlocking the World of Fine Art Investments28 Jan 202601:20:10
Why This Episode Is a Must-Watch

Is fine art a savvy investment, or just a glamorous gamble? This episode of Inspired Money pulls back the curtain on the art market and uncovers what most investors really need to know before putting their money into masterpieces. Whether you're curious, skeptical, or already have a piece or two on your walls, this panel of high-caliber experts navigates art's intersection with investment, tech, and trust... making it a must-watch for business professionals, finance enthusiasts, and art lovers alike.

Meet the Expert Panelists

Philip Hoffman is the Founder and Chairman of The Fine Art Group, a global leader in art investment, finance, advisory, and philanthropy that he founded in 2001 after a distinguished 12-year career at Christie's, where he became CFO at age 27 and Deputy Chief Executive of Europe by 33. Under his leadership, The Fine Art Group now advises on over $20 billion in art annually for more than 350 family offices worldwide, with a presence across the U.S., Europe, Asia, and Australia. Philip is a widely quoted authority on the art market in global media and at leading financial and cultural institutions. https://www.fineartgroup.com

Nanne Dekking is Co-Executive Chairman of Winston Artory Group and one of the most prominent pioneers in applying data science, artificial intelligence, and asset tokenization to the global art market. With more than three decades of experience as an art historian, advisor, and market innovator, he has consistently operated at the intersection of connoisseurship, finance, and technology. Formerly Vice Chairman and Worldwide Head of Private Sales at Sotheby's, and the founder of Artory, Dekking is widely recognized for advancing provenance, transparency, and trust in high-value art transactions through data-driven systems and blockchain-based infrastructure. He is a frequent contributor to Bloomberg and the Financial Times and a leading voice on the future of art as an institutional-grade asset class. https://www.wag-art.com

Dr. Carina Popovici is the co-founder and CEO of Art Recognition, a Zurich-based ArtTech company pioneering the commercial use of artificial intelligence for art authentication and forgery detection. A PhD-trained theoretical physicist and former quantitative risk specialist in Swiss banking, she brings deep expertise in AI, physics, and finance to one of the art market's most critical challenges: trust, provenance, and authenticity. Her work has been featured by major international outlets including The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, and The Guardian. In 2025, Luxembourg-based art investment firm Alpha Star invested USD 1 million in Art Recognition to accelerate the company's growth and mission. https://art-recognition.com

Key Highlights:

1. Authenticity, Trust, and Data—More Fragile Than You Think
Blue chip status rests on reputation, but Carina Popovici reveals that institutional validation doesn't eliminate authenticity risks. AI tools are changing how authenticity and confidence intersect, potentially saving investors from costly surprises.

2. Investment Is About Expert Know-How, Not Just Data
Philip Hoffman emphasizes that "human interaction, professional knowledge, and expertise make the difference between $3 million and $30 million." Data and AI support, but don't replace, the judgement of seasoned advisors, especially when condition and provenance can shift value dramatically.

3. Fractional Ownership: Democratizing or Dangerous?
Platforms like Masterworks are opening doors, but Nanne Dekking and Philip Hoffman warn about high fees and speculative risks for everyday investors. "The costs kill it. For every million you're investing…in a fractionalized fund…your fees will be $40 million," cautions Philip Hoffman.

4. AI Can Be a Double-Edged Sword
While good AI models are advancing to authenticate art, Carina Popovici highlights the growing threat: "These days it's possible to fake absolutely anything…with AI." The stakes in provenance and validation have never been higher.

Call-to-Action

Here is one thing to do this week, take a moment to explore your own relationship with art: visit a gallery, research an artist you admire, or even start tracking works that inspire you. Engaging with the art world, even just a little, is the first step toward thinking like a thoughtful art investor.

Meet the Expert Panelists

Key Highlights

1. Building an Impactful Philanthropic Portfolio
Caroline discusses why giving should be as strategic as any investment. Rather than random donations, align your charitable "portfolio" with your skills and resources—and verify that you're meeting real needs with evidence-based solutions. She advises, "It's important to think about what you have... Money is the most obvious thing, but there can be other things donors bring as well."

2. The Emotional Rewards of Giving
Paul reveals that generosity is deeply connected to happiness and meaning. Drawing on Aristotle's concept of "philia"—friendship love—he explains, "The more you feel the people you are looking to help are actually yourself, or people like those whom you love...the greater is your generosity." Joy comes from connecting your giving to your deepest values.

3. Values-Driven and Relationship-Centered Giving
Yvonne urges donors to engage their families and communities—not just write checks. Impact starts with understanding the problems you're trying to solve, ongoing donor education, and building trust with nonprofits. "Philanthropy is not about wealth, it's about worth and how you understand the worth of other people," she shares.

4. Technology and Financial Planning Tools for Greater Impact
Stephen demystifies donor advised funds and tax-smart strategies, making giving frictionless and empowering donors to commit more, without financial strain. "We want to put a lot of focus on making the transactional frictionless so the relational can flourish," he says. From bunching to appreciated stock, financial tools are game changers for modern philanthropists.

The Art and Science of Wine Tasting with Niccolò Baldelli-Boni, Josh McCallen and Jin Ahn06 Sep 202300:59:40

Insights from The Art and Science of Wine Tasting with Niccolò Baldelli-Boni, Josh McCallen and Jin Ahn. In Episode 3 of the Inspired Money Podcast's live stream series, "The Taste of Success," hosted by Andy Wang and produced by Bradley Jon Eaglefeather, a distinguished panel—Niccolò Baldelli-Boni, Josh McCallen, and Jin Ahn—shared their wisdom on the art and science of wine tasting. The segment, fittingly titled "The Art and Science of Wine Tasting," explored the complexities of sensory evaluation, wine characteristics, and the importance of group tasting.

Here are the key takeaways from this enlightening segment.

The Intricacies of Sensory Evaluation

Niccolò Baldelli-Boni, a seasoned wine enthusiast, emphasized the need for a comprehensive sensory evaluation when tasting wine. He pointed out that it's not just about sipping; it's about visual examination, olfactory evaluation, and taste analysis. These techniques help in discovering the wine's complexity and character.

The Olfactory Journey: From Flaw Detection to Complexity

Jin Ahn, a professional in the field, elaborated on the olfactory evaluation process. He highlighted the importance of first identifying any flaws in the wine, such as cork taint or oxidation. Once the wine passes this initial test, the focus shifts to its fruit profile, non-fruit characteristics, and overall complexity.

The Power of Group Tasting

Jin Ahn also emphasized the value of group tasting, especially with those more knowledgeable. He explained that group settings allow for comparative tasting, which is crucial for understanding the nuances between different wines, vintages, or vineyards. It's a collaborative learning experience that can significantly enhance your wine-tasting skills.

The Legacy of Renault Winery

Josh McCallen introduced us to the fascinating world of Renault Winery, the second oldest winery in America, surprisingly located in New Jersey. He shared the rich history of the winery, founded in the 1800s, and its unique terroir. This segment served as a reminder that the world of wine is vast and full of surprises, and that history and location often play a significant role in a wine's character.

Conclusion

The segment "The Art and Science of Wine Tasting" from Episode 3 of the Inspired Money Podcast's live stream series, "The Taste of Success," provided a rich tapestry of insights and perspectives. The conversation wasn't just about tasting; it was about doing so in a way that aligns with a deeper understanding and appreciation of wine. As you navigate the evolving landscape of wine tasting, let the wisdom of Niccolò Baldelli-Boni, Josh McCallen, and Jin Ahn be your guiding stars.

Key Highlights

1. The Power and Pitfalls of Niche Asset Classes
Paul Moore's perspective on "boring but beautiful" sectors like self-storage and small-bay industrial assets emphasizes their recession resistance and long-term cash flow. He underlines: "A great property can be ruined by a mediocre operator, and a mediocre asset can be saved and prosper under a great asset manager." This theme of specialized knowledge—versus chasing trends—is critical for sustainable, risk-adjusted returns.

2. Leveraging Data, AI, and Hyperlocal Analysis
Neal Bawa demonstrates how real estate investing is being revolutionized by artificial intelligence and predictive analytics. "All of our rent comps are now done by a tool called Manus…We're able to manage our properties better because our weekly reports on asset management are AI-generated," Neal shares. The key is using tech not just for efficiency, but for smart, precision targeting in investment decisions.

3. Strategic Asset Management—From Landlord to Business Owner
Ken emphasizes the essential mindset shift from simply being a landlord to managing properties as scalable businesses. "If the asset is in really, really good shape, it's well capitalized, it's maintained, financially maintained…then it actually helps when you start to exit." Operational excellence—including robust asset management and leveraging both people and systems—drives sustainable value.

4. Aligning Values and Wealth: Impact Investing in Real Estate
This episode dives into strategies for doing well while doing good. Jay Papasan highlights, "The money is good for the good it can do...wealth is great because we can make great change with it." Both he and J Scott discuss setting impact goals, engaging community, and integrating purpose into investment models—showing that profitability and purpose aren't mutually exclusive.

She's the author of "Control Your Retirement Destiny" and "Social Security Sense." Dana's hands-on experience makes her a wealth of practical knowledge. https://www.sensiblemoney.com

Jacqueline Schadeck, CFP®, AWMA®, is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, author, and speaker who helps individuals and families achieve financial clarity and build generational wealth. Kemberley "Kemcents" Washington, CPA, is a tax expert, journalist, and former IRS agent with over 20 years of experience helping individuals and communities navigate taxes and personal finance. A frequent contributor to Forbes Advisor and national media outlets like Good Morning America 3 and Fox Business, she is also the author of several books, including The Ten Commandments to Financial Healing and It All Starts with a Budget. https://www.kemberley.com

Key Highlights

1. Rethinking the 60/40 Portfolio Dana Anspach challenges the traditional portfolio model, highlighting the need for personalized risk management:

"It all comes down to being really clear on how you define risk… That's going to lead to different portfolio strategies that best protect against that risk."

From alternatives to ETFs, understanding your personal timeline and goals is key to crafting a resilient investment plan.

2. Modern Estate Planning Matters Kemberley Washington emphasizes staying on top of tax law changes and setting up basic legal documents, wills, trusts, powers of attorney, before moving to advanced strategies like donor-advised funds. Jacqueline Schadeck warns:

"My fear is that everyone… is part of the 70% of Americans that don't actually have any estate documents in place."

Estate planning isn't optional. It's essential.

3. Business Entity & Asset Protection Simplified Entrepreneurs and investors risk everything when they mix personal and business assets. Dana Anspach shares:

"You meet the wrong person at the wrong time and you never know what's going to happen… there may be simpler ways to get asset protection in place without the additional complexity."

Work with both a CPA and attorney to align legal structures, taxes, and retirement planning for maximum protection.

4. Next-Gen Philanthropy & Sustainable Investing Today's investors want more than returns—they want impact. From ESG investing to donor-advised funds, philanthropy offers tax efficiency, legacy building, and social good. Kemberley Washington notes:

"More and more are not only thinking about ESG, but giving more impactful—maybe to a church, tithes, and different things of that nature." Take Action: Protect Your Wealth Today

My challenge to you this week: choose one area of your finances that feels exposed and commit to addressing it. Maybe that means calling your financial planner, researching asset protection strategies, or finally scheduling that estate planning meeting you've been putting off. Don't wait for the "perfect time." Small steps now prevent big regrets later. 🎧 Listen to the full episode on the Inspired Money podcast or watch on the Inspired Money YouTube channel.

In 2010, BlinkNow opened a school for the region's most impoverished children. The school now serves 400 students and is rated top in the region. Maggie was named 2015 CNN Hero of the Year. She was honored by the Dalai Lama as an Unsung Hero of Compassion in 2014. Her work was championed by Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist Nicholas Kristof in a cover story for The New York Times Magazine. Her work has been recognized by  Elizabeth Gilbert, Katie Couric, and Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan of Sussex. While Maggie's work as CEO is focused on Nepal, she speaks all over the world in the hope of inspiring others to start projects of their own that will generate positive change. From Jane's Addition to Being a Rebel with Etty Lau Farrell20 May 202201:03:09

Episode 240: Dancer and singer, Etty Lau Farrell, talks about being an artist, feeling like an outcast, and recovering from dark financial days.

Guest Biography

Etty Lau Farrell, vocalist for the band Satellite Party and lead singer-dancer for Kind Heaven Orchestra has made her first debut as a solo artist with the single 'He's A Rebel'– available today on all digital streaming platforms. Produced by her legendary husband, Perry Farrell, the godfather of alternative rock as co-founder of Jane's Addiction and Porno for Pyros, this song pays tribute as a cover by iconic 60's trio, The Crystals.

A Billboard #1 chart topper in 1962, the musical piece touches base on a well-revived classic love-story trope–the bad, socially rebellious boy, and the lovestruck, innocent good girl. The tune of the song begins with a dramatic twist, incorporating a rhythmic, 70's beat to the original melody and leads listeners into the tantalizing strums of the guitar to make itself known, as Etty's heavenly voice begins to belt out the heart-warming lyrics. Transported to another world filled with romance, desire, and hypnotic instrumentals, the astoundingly constructed symphony of musical elements and ethereal vocals highlight the unmistakable talent of this emerging songstress. Although the unknown rebel The Crystals sang of remained elusive, Etty's tune taps into her love of Perry and their together.

Throughout her long and fruitful musical career, Etty has accumulated a multitude of hit songs with Satellite Party and Kind Heaven Orchestra, including 'Wishing On a Dog Star,' 'Machine Girl,' 'Hard Life Easy,' and 'Woman in the Window'. Working alongside her husband, the duo have made a name for themselves outside of their individual music careers in the festival industry with his flagship event, Lollapalooza. Lately, Etty has been working tirelessly on their newest project, a nightlife concert series, Heaven After Dark; launched in Los Angeles on February 17th. With a growing following across her social media platforms expressing her own identity,, Etty's charismatic, mischievous, and fascinating life has captured the hearts of her audience and amplified the excitement for this musical release.

Key Highlights from the Conversation

1. Blockchain: Powering the New Digital Trust Dr. Merav Ozair emphasizes that blockchain's impact goes far beyond cryptocurrency.

"AI fakes. Blockchain authenticates."

She explains that as AI-generated content and digital interactions grow, we face a crisis of trust. Blockchain's immutable records and decentralized verification can bring authenticity to everything from online identities to supply chain data, ensuring we know what's real in a digital-first world.

2. Diversification and Smart Crypto Investing Sir John Hargrave demystifies crypto investing with simple, practical steps:

"Start with a small amount of Bitcoin, maybe a little Ethereum. No more than 10% of your portfolio."

He explains that diversification helps reduce risk while offering exposure to the potential upside of digital assets. His upcoming book, The Intelligent Crypto Investor, provides a clear roadmap for building long-term wealth without gambling on hype or speculation.

3. Democratizing Financial Opportunity Chris Kline highlights how cryptocurrency is opening doors for everyday investors:

"Bitcoin and cryptocurrency is the democratization of money—it is the people's currency."

Through platforms like BitcoinIRA, investors can now hold digital assets in secure, regulated retirement accounts, breaking down barriers that once limited access to alternative investments and giving individuals more control over their financial future.

4. Remaining Vigilant in a Rapidly Centralizing Landscape Nick Spanos, a pioneer from the early days of crypto, warns against forgetting its roots:

"If these sleaze bags get a hold of it and turn it into what they can manipulate, it's the wrong move for humanity."

He shares how Bitcoin's original ethos was built on decentralization and freedom from centralized control—and why staying vigilant is essential as institutions and governments increasingly enter the space.

Your Next Step

Take 30 minutes to learn about one real-world use case of blockchain beyond cryptocurrency. Whether it's supply chain transparency, digital identity, or decentralized finance, pick one area and read an article, watch a video, or even explore a project's whitepaper. The goal isn't to invest. It's to educate yourself so you can make informed decisions in the future.
