Union organizer, mechanic, first-time candidate and superstar independent Navy veteran, Dan Osborn (@OsobornForSenate) is back and he’s here to let us know what it was like to run the highest profile independent political race since Ross Perot, how he broke through, and what’s next for him and the movement. You met him here first back in May in Episode 280 and then again right before the elections in Episode 303. And although he lost to Republican incumbent Senator Deb Fischer, Dan’s campaign created a template for future races and laid the groundwork to help the movement grow in his home state Nebraska and nationwide. And presents lots of lessons for Republicans and Democrats too.
He’s shocked the political world. But more importantly, he woke people up. Woke people up to the idea that there could be a better way. And we’re always going to take time to listen to and salute anybody that does that.
And, of course unfortunately, there are some of the usual suspects and a few new characters that get the opposite of the salute. As Trump’s administration coalesces there are some familiar and unsavory options coming forward. Trump and Harris are bombing away at full throttle now. And fighting for the coveted “swing voters” in swing states. But who are these powerful and mysterious voters? What do these mostly independent Americans really care about most? Why do we have to keep talking about Robert F Kennedy Jr? Why is Trump’s Arlington controversy still in the news? What did Senator John McCain’s son have to say? Can we please go back to summer?!?!
And meanwhile, war continues to rage around the world. Including involving US troops in…Iraq?!?! While Israel recovered six hostages brutally murdered by Hammas, Ukrainian civilians continue to be bombed and rocketed by Putin. The world is on fire and our broken political system is only making it worse.

Ahead of Zelensky’s historic and important visit Wednesday, December 21, 2022 to our Capitol to talk about the current war, veterans of our last war were camping outside to beg our government to honor its commitment to us and our allies. To demand passage of the #AfghanAdjustmentAct.
Maybe Zelensky can visit with our veterans and allies camped outside. And maybe he can get President Biden to do the same. Since he still hasn’t yet. Our politicians have failed to get this done. Zelensky is a man of action. Maybe he can get it done. #WTF #SaveOurAllies
It would be an amazing holiday surprise–and a winter blast of joy!
Which is what the world cup final turned out to be!
What a beautiful thing. That was the greatest sporting event we’ve ever seen. The quality, drama and magnitude was unprecedented.
It’s been a long time since something has given so much of the world so much joy and positive excitement.
And a truly incredible global moment. The most globally shared thing we’ve had on Earth in a long while. Let’s all try to keep this feeling for as long as possible.

Every guest on this show has shaped America’s past, is impacting America’s present, and is driving America’s future. And Jason continues to help us understand ourselves, our past, and our future. A future that has a whole new perspective for him with the recent birth of his first grandchild.
He is of course best known for his role as George Costanza in maybe the greatest television series of all time, Seinfeld. He was nominated for seven Primetime Emmy Awards and three Golden Globe Awards. He won a Tony Award. And he’s a truly inspiring, fascinating and entertaining man.
He’s defined American culture and entertainment for decades. And, all the while, he’s been deeply committed to his craft---to his family---and to his country. He’s raised money for charities. He’s fought for causes and candidates. And when his sister was struck with a devastating disease, he fought for her--and for others like her facing the same terrible disease.
If you’ve watched him, you love him. And you may feel like you know him. But you really don’t. In this episode, you’ll learn that the man behind the characters is even more amazing. And you’ll love him, respect him, and admire him even more. Just like the last two times he’s joined us. It’s the perfect holiday conversation. For whatever holiday you celebrate.
