The Annual UCLA Quality of Life in Los Angeles Index just came out. . .and it’s the lowest score in the history of the study. This is on the heels of Mayor Bass’ “State of the City” address, which also raised some red flags. So I want to know how YOU feel about your Quality of Life in L.A.? Are you better off than you were last year? Are you optimistic or pessimistic about the future of L.A. I want to hear from you!

It's over 100° in the first half of August and the kids are back in school. . .already! So why would LAUSD and most surrounding districts do this to parents and kids? It’s Spring Break so it’s time for a Road Trip. I took the family up the 395 to explore some California history: the Good, the Bad, the Ugly. We start with Mammoth (3:38), which is a volcano. . .that gets 300 inches of snow per year! From there we stop by Schat’s Bakery (8:10), the most popular bakery in the WORLD. . .since 1903. And have you heard of Manzanar (9:00), the site of mass incarceration of 10,000 Japanese-Americans during WWII. You know I had to get the story. Lastly, we head to the Owens Lake (16:15), the epicenter of the California Water Wars.

And yes, he's also responsible for creating the equally fascinating and genius show and book series centered around Mickey Haller who is the Lincoln Lawyer. I dig deep into Michael's background and history to really learn what makes him tick, and find his true origin story into what led to his success as an author with over 90 million books sold, not to mention two smash hit television shows. With the 2024 Paris Olympics officially underway, the countdown is ON for LA28, the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Some of my earliest memories are from my parents taking me to the 1984 Games, and I'm going to detail why L.A. Is the Greatest Olympic City on Earth. We'll also address detractors of the games, and what Los Angeles is doing to ensure that the city will sparkle & shine in its THIRD time hosting the Games:

Reflecting on my day spent at Skid Row in downtown Los Angeles... a 54 block homeless mainstay for more than 100 years! I also get into just how Skid Row actually started/how'd it get its name/how it's stood the test of time/and maybe most important, what's being done to hopefully not need a a Skid Row someday. 

As usual, we're digging deep the only way we know how... this time into whether Los Angeles is the city of health and wellness, which was the original pitch to spur growth over 100 years ago!  Cold hard facts will tell us about the state of L.A. with regards to health, and we also compare it against other cities in the country...
