S2 - Episode 19 - Jess Clerke - Ultimate Hype Girl
Saison 2 · Épisode 19
mardi 4 juin 2024 • Durée 54:25
On this episode of Imposter Sisters we chat with fellow podcaster Jess Clerk about her “Year of Confidence” project, its impact on her journey, and how she transformed into the ultimate hype girl.
Inspired by Shonda Rhimes's "Year of Yes", Jess created the "Year of Confidence" project to try new things, find who she was... what made her Jess. When the year was up, she realized she wasn't done and with everything she'd learned in that 365 days... she simply kept on going with the solid knowledge that she no longer needed to be perfect... and had so much to share.
As she gathered women around her, Jess built an online community, "Selfish Sisterhood", that has grown to include both events and retreats. In fact, if you're on a journey to embrace your authentic self and connect with incredible people, check out the two-day "Speak Up!" conference happening early October in Halifax.
We chatted with Jess about her 10-10-10 theory, ditching being perfect, boosting others up, helping and serving like-minded women, being broken, meditating, breathwork, realizing you aren't alone, authenticity, and more.
Jess Clerk exudes LOVE. She's bright, lively, warm, kind... and makes you feel ABSOLUTELY AMAZING by simply being in her light.
**********
The Imposter Sisters are truly thrilled to have Jess in our circle and look forward to collaborating together soon!

Welcome to our sisterhood Jess! We Love You!

mardi 21 novembre 2023 • Durée 45:28
DeeDee Morris tells a story with her photography… and it’s not by accident. She spends time with her subjects prior to putting them in front of the lens so both their authenticity and her magic shine through.
In our latest episode of Imposter Sisters, we chat with DeeDee about her craft, her creativity, and her parenthood journey. S2 - Episode 4 - Gabby Chan - Finding Happiness amongst the Chaos
Saison 2 · Épisode 3
mardi 24 octobre 2023 • Durée 45:28
Gabby Chan loves going on dates whether it’s a night out with her finance, a fun time out with friends, or a lunch date with her parents… so, sharing about food, restaurants, and places to visit just happened naturally for Gabby. While she shares on her own page, she also spent a few months running the Date Night Halifax account (which she’s recently moved on from.)
When not sharing on line with the love of her life, Gabby is a cardiac care nurse who is deeply devoted to her patients. Nursing and helping others comes naturally to Gabby and, it’s something she actually shares with her fiancé as he’s a nurse too!
Gabby chatted about where Imposter Syndrome appears in her life, growing up with social media, struggles with her mental health, being vulnerable online and comparing herself to others.
We also chatted about the benefits of social media… the actual SOCIAL part of building a community, finding ways to combat Imposter Syndrome as a Perfectionist/Expert, and embracing the happy moments amongst the chaos.

S2 - Episode 3 - Erica Thompson - The Importance of Community
Saison 2 · Épisode 3
mardi 10 octobre 2023 • Durée 54:23
On this episode of Imposter Sisters, Alix brings another family member to the mic as we introduce you to her sister, Erica Thompson.
Erica lives in the NWT and is an award winning educator and consultant working with Indigenous Youth. Erica has certainly felt Imposter Syndrome through the years. In the early days of teaching, she knew she didn’t know everything she needed to know as anyone new to a teaching career would feel. She found her place creating innovative and amazing land-based programs for her students and in 2017, was awarded The Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence.
Erica currently consults with the school board to help build programs that are authentic to the Indigenous community. Our conversation with her was completely fascinating as Erica talks about what she has to offer, her experience, and her questions about whether or not she’s the right person to hold this position of authority.
We chat about the need for community through celebrations and through tough times, how Erica re-energizes through “chamber days”, what she’s learned and loved about living up North, and about being embraced and welcomed into a community she now calls home.
