| Political Turbulence in Serbia: A Democracy at a Crossroad | 22 May 2025 | 00:14:49 | |
In this episode, we explore the current political turbulence in Serbia. The country is experiencing significant unrest marked by mass protests, democratic backsliding, and challenges to human rights. As international observers express concern over the erosion of democratic norms, we delve into the nature of Serbia's political scene, and the country's precarious stance between the EU and Russia. As always, we look at where we might focus our intentions and prayers, and invite you to join us in holding these. Suggested Intention Focus for this week This week, as Serbia’s political situation remains finely balanced, with the government consolidating power amid mounting domestic and international challenges and mass unrest at home, we suggest holding as our main intention: We will that Serbia’s President, Prime Minister and cabinet will be guided by wise and compassionate counsel that seeks to guard against democratic backsliding. Please join us in holding this. Our guided time of prayer and intention sending starts at 10 minutes 30 seconds. | Clive's Secret Trans Life: Trans Lives Matter (Part 2) | 15 May 2025 | 01:03:44
This week, in a special episode, Ellen talks to Clive about his experience of being trans and his reactions to a changing in attitudes toward trans people in both the US and UK. He talks about his lived experience of hiding a secret and rarely feeling able to let Anja, his female self, come out and be seen by the world. We talk about how this relates to authenticity and activism, and the beautiful way that Clive has recently found that his journey of gender exploration and coming to terms with his sexuality plays into and is being informed by his spiritual journey. Clive talks candidly, shedding light on the nuances of gender fluidity and his belief in the importance for fostering a beloved community that celebrates diversity and inclusion. Tune in for an enlightening conversation that invites empathy and understanding, introducing listeners both to a side of Clive and to the beautifully varied world of trans that many may know little about. Feel free to reach out to Clive if you'd like to talk about your own searching or struggling with this issue via Messenger on our Facebook group, or via his website, https://www.clivejohnsonministry.com/tmg/tmindex.html. Suggested Intention Focus for this week This week, as we consider Clive’s fear that we may be moving away from building a beloved society that embraces full acceptance and inclusiveness of trans people, we suggest holding as our main intention: We will that, in the face of legislative changes and the course of dialogue in our home countries toward trans people, all people will be moved by a desire for beloved community that fully upholds the dignity and equality of trans people, and that tolerates and celebrates differences of view. Please join us in holding this. Clive’s YouTube channel, A Gender Fluid Life: https://www.youtube.com/@transformationsontuesday. In this urgent episode, we focus on the rising tensions between India and Pakistan. Join us as we look at where our collective power in intention and prayer is now urgently needed to avoid a flashpoint turning into an escalation into a bitter war. Suggested Intention Focus for this week This week, as relations between India and Pakistan have intensified to a level not seen for many years, we suggest holding as our main intention: We will that wisdom will prevail among all who have influence in the military command and within or upon the governments of India and Pakistan to determine a forward path that avoids escalation of their conflict at all costs. | Trans Lives Matter (Part 1) | 01 May 2025 | 00:43:10
This week, as a landmark legal ruling in the UK and sweeping executive orders in the US come into effect, we take a deep dive into the controversial social issue that has sparked fierce debate in our own countries: the rights and recognition of people identifying as trans. We delve into the nature of the division in this divide, understand the challenge of finding a way forward that may be acceptable both to trans people and those who argue for their exclusion from single sex safe spaces, and explore what may lie behind the increasing unease in society on the issue, especially in the U.S. and U.K. Crucially, we consider why the "trans issue" is one that affects us all, and that to ignore or push it into the long grass risks further alienation and future crisis in our own back yards and has broader implications for equality, freedom of expression, and social progress. As always, we conclude with suggested intentions and prayers. This is Part 1 of a 2 part special on this topic. Next time, Clive talks about his own experience of growing up trans and sharing his reactions and reflections on what’s now happening in our own back yards. Suggested Intention Focus for this week This week, as we consider the grave fear and sense of exclusion being faced by many trans people in the US and UK, as well as in other countries, we suggest holding as our main intention: We will that there will be a readiness among all people to recognise and respect the gender identities of others that they may consider to be outside the norm, including where these may be contrary to the notion of binary or biologically-determined sex or gender according to their own faith-based or other worldview. Please join us in holding this. Intention and prayers start at 38 minutes 30 seconds. | Celebrating World Labyrinth Day 2025: Sending a Love Train Around the World | 24 Apr 2025 | 00:40:55
World Labyrinth Day on 3 May encourages people around the world to walk a labyrinth, willing peace and harmony, and activating a wave of goodwill from the earliest walks in New Zealand and in the east through to the places where the sun will last set on this day in the west. With hundreds of events already planned, this offers a rare and important opportunity to meditate and send collective intention with thousands of others, en masse. In this episode, special guests Carmel Stabley and Susie Leiper tell us about the significance of labyrinths in meditation and healing, and how we can each play a part in willing positive intention as we are encouraged to "walk as one at one" (at 1pm in our time zone), which may include using a finger labyrinth downloadable from the World Labyrinth Day website, or joining an online, virtual walk. Ellen turns interviewee in this episode, as she talks about her role as Co-ordinator of World Labyrinth Day and her reflections of what has been learned and achieved over the 5 years that she has carried this mantle. Suggested Intention for World Labyrinth Day As regular listeners know, we always offer a suggested intention for the week ahead in our episodes. This week, looking forward to World Labyrinth Day 2025, we suggest as our intention this week: We will that all who engage with World Labyrinth Day this year will be excited to experience and moved to pass on the power of collective intention for universal peace and wellbeing. Please join us in holding this, both now, and on the day itself. 2025 Pre- World Labyrinth Day Intention: The hearts of the hosts and participants are prepared for World Labyrinth Day. All labyrinths are connected for the highest good of our world. Please join us in holding this ahead of the day. | Welcoming Silence with Andō (Part 2) | 08 Apr 2025 | 00:38:30
Clive continues his conversation with spiritual teacher and director Andō, whose remarkable ministry focuses on the true nature and power of silence. In this episode, we explore the notion of nothingness, and also turn attention to understanding the role and value of spiritual direction. Andō draws on her deep experience of surrender, trust and dwelling in silence, following her many years of living in retreat and spiritual community, together with being out in the world, and through several major health crises. She talks about how she has been inspired by faith and practice in the Zen and Tibetan Buddhist traditions, along with Advaita Vedanta, Christian mysticism, non-denominational Christianity and contemporary nonduality, among others. As a spiritual director and contemplative mentor she serves those of all faiths and none. Andō offers a safe space for entering awareness of the movement of the divine in your life. You can subscribe to Silentium, a journal on themes of interior silence — of meditation, contemplation, silent prayer, stillness, and quiet moments, for all faiths. | Welcoming Silence with Andō (Part 1) | 01 Apr 2025 | 00:31:26
Many of us who are regular intercessors, meditators and intention holders instinctively know the importance of silence for this work. However, probably few of us may really appreciate just how critical silence is, nor have a sense of its power and true nature, even if we know that to rest in the space of silence goes far beyond simply stilling ourselves and detaching from the busyness of what goes on outside. Few people may have such a clear understanding of what silence as our beautiful guest today, Andō, who is a living testament of a life dedicated to its mystery and healing power. Her remarkable life is one of full commitment to trusting in divine provision, spending many years living in retreat in Portugal, where her understanding of the nature of silence and connection with nature was truly experiential. She previously spent time living in a Buddhist community, and continues to draw much inspiration from both Zen and Tibetan Buddhist traditions, along with Advaita Vedanta, Christian mysticism, nondenominational Christianity and contemporary non-duality, among others. Overcoming a significant and long-lasting health shock, Andō recently returned to the UK, now living in Cornwall. Both online and in person, she offers a deeply inspiring mix of retreats, personal consultations, and other opportunities to explore the nature of silence, along with a deeply inspiring blog and acting as a spiritual director for nondenominational spiritual seekers, teachers, pastors, and priests of various faiths. This is part 1 of a 2 part conversation. | Confronting Gang Rape Against Women: A Global Perspective | 20 Mar 2025 | 00:30:43
This week, we take a deep dive into one of the most disturbing and critical issues facing our world today: the mass rape of women and girls. We highlight horrific cases, including the trial of 51 men for the abuse of Gisèle Pelicot in France last year, and the appalling systemic use of sexual violence in war, which continues today in conflict zones like Sudan. We explore the challenges faced by survivors in seeking justice, the cultural barriers that perpetuate the violence, and the urgent need for education and legal reforms worldwide. This episode aims to heighten awareness and support for women and girls who've faced trauma from such violence, reminding us of the power of collective intention in making an impact. As always, we explore where we may hold intentions and prayers, and invite you join you to join us in sharing this. See below for the contact information of help services offered to victims of rape. Please note that some listeners may find the topic covered in this episode disturbing. Our intention holding and prayers starts at 20 minutes 7 seconds. Suggested Intention Focus for this week This week, as we reflect upon the horrific incidence of mass rape and abuse against women and girls, we suggest holding as our main intention: We will that there will be a significant heightening of awareness among the people of wealthier nations, and a consequent move to support women and girls facing trauma as a result of rape or threats of rape in countries that are in are have been at war. | Where Intention Meets Prayer: Part 2 | 13 Mar 2025 | 00:35:36
Continuing our exploration of the overlap, similarity or difference of intention and prayer (for part 1, find us where you get your podcasts or via the link below). In this episode, we consider whether seeing God (or Source, Spirit) as a power within us takes us any closer in our definition of intention holding. We touch on the question of where the utterance or vibration of an intention or prayer may originate from, ponder the relevance of yearning or desire in intercession and intention holding, and come back to exploring how our thoughts, volition, and feeling all come together in offering what we will to happen. Sit back or sit up (if you're driving!) and come exploring and questioning with us. Suggested Intention Focus for this week This week, as we’ve considered the nature of intention holding and prayer, we suggest holding as our main intention: I resolve when holding intention or offering prayer to have confidence [or faith] in the power accessible within myself or upon which I can call to direct my will for something to be. | Where Intention Meets Prayer: Part 1 | 06 Mar 2025 | 00:32:30
This week, in the first of a 2-part special, we thought we’d try to get to the root of something that’s so fundamental to what this podcast is about – what we actually mean when we talk about intention and prayer. We usually use these terms interchangeably, but know that different folks have different understandings of what the terms mean – and, depending on what this understanding is, the two aren’t necessarily the same. So, we thought we’d attempt explore some of these different understandings, and see where what happens when we pray or hold intention may overlap, and where science may be tuning in with this too. A fascinating episode, and one in which we know we need to get beyond some common definitions. Suggested Intention Focus for this week This week, as we’ve considered the nature of intention holding and prayer, we suggest holding as our main intention: I resolve when holding intention or offering prayer to have confidence in the power accessible within myself or upon which I can call to direct my will for something to be. | All You Need is Lovingkindness | 13 Feb 2025 | 00:28:18
Valentine’s Day comes around again this week, perhaps being one day in the year that gets many people thinking about love. The Christian priest Saint Valentine was martyred for practising Christianity and continuing to marry Christian couples against the orders of Roman Emperor Claudius II, and it was the poet Chaucer who was instrumental in linking his acts of devotion with romantic love. But when we talk about love, we’re talking about a vital, pervading force in the universe that many know as being divine. This kind of love, and specifically lovingkindness, is vital for intention work and prayer, as we’ll explore in this episode. We also offer a guided lovingkindness (mettā) meditation that you may wish to enjoy with us. The meditation starts at 16 minutes 55 seconds. Suggested Intention Focus for this week This week, as we appreciate the importance of welcoming and offering lovingkindness in our intention holding and intercession, we suggest holding as our main intention: I acknowledge the importance of embracing and sharing lovingkindness in the work of intention holding and prayer, and resolve to regularly pursue practices such as meditation to welcome lovingkindness into my life and to will this for others. Please join us in regularly remembering and putting this personal commitment into practice. The standard form of the Ho’oponopono prayer is: I'm sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. I love you. | Germany's Political Crossroads: A Pivotal Election and a Nation Divided | 06 Feb 2025 | 00:16:02
In this episode we dive deep into the political landscape of Germany as it gears up for a critical snap election. With Chancellor Olaf Scholz's coalition government having recently collapsed, the country faces a crucial decision at the polls on February 23rd, amid a backdrop of political fragmentation, economic stagnation, and significant shifts in voter dynamics. In this episode, we explore the current political scene, and seek to understand the key issues shaping voter concerns, and what has led to an unprecedented rise in support for the right wing AdF party. As always, we aim to see where our prayers and intentions are most needed as this critical moment for Europe's largest economy approaches. Suggested Intention Focus for this week This week, as Germany’s federal election approaches, we suggest holding as our main intention: We will that all voters in the forthcoming federal election in Germany will be moved to cast their vote in the interest of the greatest good for both themselves and their fellow citizens. Please join us in holding this. | Groundedness: Becoming and Staying Grounded | 30 Jan 2025 | 00:36:44
This week, we explore the transformative power of being grounded and consider its foundational role in any spiritual journey, and in intention holding and prayer. We examine what it truly means to be grounded and why it is crucial for connecting with our authentic selves. We'll discuss the significance of grounding as the theme for the Global Healing Response this quarter and its relationship with GHR's running theme for the year, authenticity. We also reflect on the interplay between our physical and spiritual grounding and how these connections empower us to live authentically and hold meaningful intentions. Specifically, we talk about the meaning of "Ground Of Being." The episode also gets practical, offering a guided meditation to help you anchor yourself and connect with your core. Suggested Intention Focus for this week This week, as Global Healing Response offers groundedness as its quarterly theme, and as we appreciate the importance of being grounded for living authentically and for being able to connect with our Higher Self in intention holding and intercession, we suggest holding as our main intention: I acknowledge the importance of grounding in the work of intention holding, prayer and authentic living, and resolve to regularly pursue practices such as meditation that will strengthen my connection with my ground, the Ground of Being. Please join us in regularly remembering and putting this personal commitment into practice. The guided meditation for grounding starts at 26 minutes. | Honoring the Past, Protecting the Future: Commemorating Holocaust Memorial Day | 24 Jan 2025 | 00:20:16
On January 27, International Holocaust Remembrance Day and Holocaust Memorial Day, the victims of genocides past and present are remembered through ceremonies, vigils, film, spoken testimony, and community gatherings to honour victims and survivors. We are encouraged to stop to remember the realities of the Holocaust and other genocides, including the continuing risk of man’s inhumanity to man escalating to committing similar atrocities in the future. This year, this important day will especially mark and remember the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau 80 years ago, as well as the 30th anniversary of the genocide in Bosnia in the early1990’s. It comes at a time when antisemitism, Islamophobia, racism, xenophobia, and other forms of intolerance, hostility and suspicion towards different communities are on the rise in many countries, including in our own. In this episode, as we recall and honor the past, we reflect on the ever more urgent need to be alert to the lessons taught by these atrocities, and join together to focus our intentions and prayers on specific topics they stir in our hearts. Suggested Intention Focus for this week This week, as Holocaust Remembrance is honoured and the anniversaries of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau and of the genocide in Bosnia are remembered, we suggest holding as our main intention: We honour the victims and survivors of all past and present genocides, and ask that those who have passed will be at peace, and those who remain will receive courage, comfort and always be protected in healing light. Please join us in holding this. Our guided time of prayer and intention sending, to join with us in sending energy starts at 11 minutes 14 seconds. In this special edition to end 2024, we reflect on the many answers to our intentions and prayers this year. We give thanks for major progress made in conflicts and crises, step changes in some formerly challenging situations, and large scale global advancements in attending to the care of our planet and the health of the world's poor. | Paradise Lost or Gained: Dealing with Disappointment or Joy in the Wake of the US Elections | 07 Nov 2024 | 00:22:52
In this week's episode, as the results of the US elections become known, we focus on contrasting themes of disappointment and joy, and how to deal with these in an environment that has been especially polarized. As both US citizens and others process the results, we discuss how individuals on both sides can find peace and unity through compassion and understanding, and offer practical suggestions for dealing both with fear, disappointment and anxiety, and for handling joy and celebration with equanimity and empathy for supporters of a losing side. We reflect on the vision of a harmonious society, drawing inspiration from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s concept of a "Beloved Community," in which justice, equality, and love for all humanity prevail. We ask whether this is a Utopian ideal or one that can be put into practice to bridge divides and foster mutual respect in a polarized world? Crucially, in the days following the vote, we look at where our intentions and prayers might now be focused. Whether you are celebrating or mourning, this episode provides guidance on navigating emotions with grace, encouraging a collective intention towards healing and unity. Tune in and discover how we can each contribute to a more harmonious world, while perhaps receiving some comfort and hope if you are among those now feeling despondent. Suggested Intention Focus for this Week: This week, as the US comes to terms with the election of Donald Trump for a second term as its President, following a heavily contested election, we suggest holding as our main intention: We will that all US citizens will be moved by compassion to respect and love their fellow countryfolk, even though they may dislike their politics, words and actions. | Self-Caring During Challenging Times | 01 Nov 2024 | 00:30:06
This week we delve into the crucial topic of self-care amidst the intense energy surrounding the upcoming U.S. presidential election. With the election described as one of the most pivotal in modern times, we explore the emotional toll it may take on individuals and communities, emphasizing the importance of maintaining peaceable relations and not being triggered by often polar opposite views. The episode explores how intention, prayer, and meditation can impact us energetically, highlighting the necessity of releasing energies that don't serve us. We discuss the power of the breath in maintaining calm, the significance of the torus field as a protective energy barrier, and the transformative practice of Tonglen for cultivating compassion. We suggest practical techniques for managing energy and stress, including mindfulness, visualization, and connecting with one's guardian angels. Suggested Intention Focus for this week: This week, as we recognise the potential for becoming uncentred, agitated or ill at ease during an especially tense time for millions of people across the US, we suggest holding as our main intention a personal resolve: I resolve that, in unity with others who hold intentions with me, I will take time to release any energy that doesn’t serve me after holding intention, and not neglect to attend to my own self-care. Please join us in holding this. Now, please release me from me anything that will not benefit me, taking from me any draining, negative or harmful energy that may have come to me during this practice. Thank you. I love you. Breathing cycle intentions: Breathing in, I invite lovingkindness and pure, divine light energy to fill me. Breathing out, I send [my intention or lovingkindness] to [the person, people, or whoever or whatever is the focus of my intention] (during intention holding) Breathing out, I release all that doesn’t now serve me (after intention holding). | Global Healing Response: Air | 24 Oct 2024 | 00:22:53
In this episode, as Global Healing Response turns its attention to the element of Air, we focus on the crucial significance of air in sustaining life on Earth. Air's role in supporting life goes far beyond respiration. It influences the water cycle, weather systems, and plant reproduction, while also playing a critical part in climate regulation and photosynthesis. We explore how air quality impacts human health and well-being, contributing to respiratory and cardiovascular issues and even affecting mental health. We examine the disproportionate effects of air pollution on vulnerable communities and consider where we might offer our collective intentions and prayers in such areas as appealing for governmental responsibility, individual mindfulness, and innovative solutions to reduce carbon emissions and harness wind energy. Suggested Intention Focus for this week: This week, as we consider the many ways all life on Earth is dependent on air, we suggest holding as our main intention: We will that all of humanity will be made aware of and be moved to responsible action in how we contribute to influencing the quality and composition of our planet’s atmosphere. | Prioritizing Mental Health: A Global Workplace Imperative | 10 Oct 2024 | 00:28:44
This week, we explore the critical intersection of mental health and the workplace, as World Mental Health Day is marked by the World Federation for Mental Health, World Health Organisation and others. We consider the importance of mental health awareness in the workplace, discussing its impact on productivity, employee well-being, and societal health. The episode highlights the World Federation for Mental Health's campaign focus on mental health at work, addressing the challenges of stigma, discrimination, and inadequate support systems. We look at the importance of creating supportive work environments and the role of leadership in destigmatizing mental health issues, but also consider employer perspectives on what can be done, and how actions to combat mental health may impact their bottom lines. As always, we look at where we may hold specific intentions and home in with our prayers. Suggested focus for this week This week, as the World Federation for Mental Health, WHO and other prominent organisations highlight the rights of workers suffering poor mental health to be supported and destigmatized, we suggest holding as our main focus for intention this week: We will that the World Federation for Mental Health’s campaign this year will be very widely heard by HR policy makers, management trainers, and leaders of all employers worldwide, and they will be moved to carefully consider and act upon its call to prioritize mental health in the workplace, and to foster productive and supportive atmospheres in which both employees and organizations can thrive. Please join us in holding this. And please share with us in holding intention for those effected by the passage of Hurricane Milton: We will that every possible resource and assistance is immediately available to those in need from the results of the storms in the South Eastern United States. | The Dire Plight of Afghanistan's Women and Girls | 04 Oct 2024 | 00:25:49
In an especially powerful episode, we focus on the desperate situation of Afghanistan's women and girls 3 years after the Taliban regained control if the country. We look at the severe restrictions they face, and consider the effects of the rollback of freedoms that they had gained over the past two decades, not least, in a denial of secondary education to girls, effective imprisonment of women in their homes, and the seemingly bleak prospect for change any time soon. The episode sheds light on the urgent need for global awareness and action in response to the harsh realities faced by Afghan women today, and looks at where we may focus our intentions and prayer Suggested intention for this week This week, as we contemplate the poor opportunities offered to girls under the Taliban’s rule in Afghanistan, we suggest holding this week as our main focus for intention: We will that there will be a movement of compassion among the Taliban’s leadership and all who have influence on its decision-making to immediately reestablish secondary school education for all Afghan girls. This week, we delve into the background to the ongoing civil war in Somalia. We seek to understand the country's complex history and the present-day challenges and efforts to achieving peace. As the country prepares for critical upcoming elections and a major transition in its electoral and parliamentary system, we discuss the implications. And as always, we consider where our intentions and prayers might be focused to look forward to a brighter future for a much troubled country, in which good governance, economic growth, and security can flourish. | The Power of Collective Intention (Part 2): Science and Strangeness | 06 Sep 2024 | 00:46:56
In the second part of our dive into the power of collective intention, this week we explore some of the science behind what might be going on when we hold an intention together. Demystifying terms and concepts such as wave-particle duality and quantum entanglement, and drawing on the groundbreaking work of organizations such as the HeartMath Institute and the Transcendental Meditation Movement, we seek to explain the quantum physics and the mysteries behind such phenomena as collective effervescence and entrainment. We also discuss the Maharishi Effect, the role of heart-brain coherence, and spotlight important new research being undertaken into the impact of collective intention on peaceful and free elections worldwide. Suggested intention focus for this week The HeartMath Institute suggests that we each have an “energetic responsibility,” the duty we each have to recognize that our thoughts, attitudes, and emotions emit energies that impact not only ourselves, but others around us, and to consciously choosing positive emotions like appreciation, care, and love. As we open ourselves to the mysteries and wonder of quantum science, and become exciting at the new discoveries that are enhancing human understanding, let us redouble our belief in the power of intention and intercession, committing ourselves to take our own energetic responsibility seriously. For our specific focus for intention this week, we suggest: We will that each of us in the Impact! community will be mindful of our energetic power and exercise responsibility for this in all circumstances. | Paralympic Special: Inclusivity and Inspiration | 29 Aug 2024 | 00:36:32
This week, as the spectacular Paralympic Games open in Paris, we turn our attention to all things Paralympics, but also, to consider the challenges of impairment beyond sport and the true meaning of inclusivity. As a friend of ours who is visually impaired once said. while recognising the efforts of many to be aware of her needs, “I often get invited to the party, but very rarely do I get invited to dance.” So, what can we do to ensure that our impaired friends enjoy the dances that they might share with us? Along the way, we’ll also take some inspiration from what’s happening in Paris – including cheering on the partner of the daughter of a friend of Ellen, who is among the 4,000 and more Paralympians taking part! Where does the word Paralympics come from? How can fair competition happen when athletes taking part in different sports have different levels of impairment? What does it mean to be a Paralympian? These questions and more are also on our minds this week in an inspiring, informative, and encouraging episode! Suggested focus for intention this week This week, we might consider how each one of us individually can take steps to become more inclusive of people with impairments. We therefore suggest holding as our special focus this week: We will that we will always be mindful of, and have wisdom to know how to be as fully inclusive as possible of people we may meet who have an impairment, when planning activities, entertaining others, and in general conversation, whether their impairment is known to us or otherwise. Please join us in holding this. And if you yourself have an impairment, you may wish to especially focus the intention on willing greater awareness of where others may best have wisdom to ensure that you not only get invited to the party, but you feel fully a part of the dance. If this includes you, please do share in the Facebook group what we all can do to make this happen! | The Power of Collective Intention (Part 1): We're More Powerful Together | 22 Aug 2024 | 00:32:47
In this episode, we dive deep into the fundamental practice of holding or sending intention, a topic dear to all of us at Impact! We explore the belief that collective intention is more powerful than individual effort, and how our combined energy can lead to exponential impact. This is the first of a two parts series. In part 2, we'll delve into the science and research behind the power of collective intention. In this episode, we reflect upon the work of researchers like Lynn McTaggart, the HeartMath Institute, and the Institute of Noetic Sciences, among others, who have studied the transformative effects of group intention. We also touch on the significance of lovingkindness, altruism, and the spiritual insights from various faith traditions that support the power of collective effort. Suggested intention focus: Since we’ve focused very much on how we are more powerful together this week, we suggest holding as our intention for the coming week: We will, that all who share intentions in our Impact! community will feel more incentivised, engaged and excited by knowing that in holding shared intentions, we are more powerful together. | Worldwide Wild Fires | 16 Aug 2024 | 00:28:52
In this week's episode we take a dive deep into one critical global issue that is often in the headlines headlines – the increasing frequency and intensity of wildfires. As part of our ongoing focus on the element of fire, the Global Healing Response special focus theme for this quarter, we explore where we can collectively offer our intentions and prayers to support the many consequences and responses to what is increasingly becoming a global challenge. Special Intention Focus Given that it is estimated that 90% of all wildfires in some parts of the world result from human activity, we suggest holding as our special focus for intention this week: We will that all who have the means to influence, educate and inform, and in all territories that are especially at risk of wild fires taking hold, will be moved to emphasise public education around fire safety in the natural environment. | Why isn't the world acting? Famine and Genocide in Darfur: A Call to Action | 08 Aug 2024 | 00:29:17
In this week's episode of Impact!, we turn our attention to one of the most pressing and tragic crises of our time—the unfolding famine and genocide in Darfur. We explore the causes, current conditions, and challenges to ending what many believe is a largely man-made catastrophe. As many are resorting to eating leaves and soil, the international response to the crisis is breathtaking in its inadequacy. New talks this month in Switzerland will aim to broker a ceasefire the ongoing conflict between the warring Sudanese military and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), as the 15-month conflict that has torn Sudan apart exacerbates the famine and has led to the largest displacement of people of any conflict in recent history. As always, we turn our attention to what we can do by being clear and specific with oour collective intention, prayers, and practical actions. Together, we believe we can make a difference. Suggested focus for intention holding this week As Sudan moves dangerously towards another genocide, while the largely man-made famine affecting Darfur is expected to bring starvation to millions, we suggest holding as our main focus this week: We will that all attending the peace talks in Geneva next week will resolve a permanent, committed end to the conflict in Darfur, including allowing effective and immediate protection for aid workers and delivery vehicles to reach all who are affected by the famine there. | Kiribati's Crucial Crossroads: Elections, Climate Crisis, and Geopolitical Tensions | 01 Aug 2024 | 00:20:45
Welcome to another insightful episode of Impact!. This week, we delve into the pressing issues facing the small Pacific nation of Kiribati as it approaches its critical general elections later this month. We consider the complexities of Kiribati's geopolitical alignments, particularly its diplomatic shift from Taiwan to China, and the nation's existential battle against climate change. Kiribati, comprising 33 coral islands, faces severe challenges from rising sea levels and water security, posing a threat to its very existence. The upcoming elections will determine the country's future direction amidst political turbulence, economic struggles, and international relations intricacies involving major powers, notably the USA, China, and Australia. As always, we consider especially where we might home in with our intentions and prayers. Suggested intention focus For Kiribati, climate change is not just an urgent priority to take steps toward; it is imminently existential. Accessing international aid to mitigate against this has proved very difficult. We therefore suggest holding as our main focus for intention this week: We will that all who have influence upon the Green Climate Fund grant allocation will have wisdom and an urgent will to streamline the grant application processes so that countries like Kiribati can more quickly be considered for and receive vital funds to help offset the existential challenge of climate change. | A Pivotal Election: Georgia's Political Crossroads | 25 Jul 2024 | 00:14:42
In this episode, we take a dive deep to understand the politics and challenges facing the central European country of Georgia, where pivotal parliamentary election is scheduled to be held in October 2024. Join us as we examine the key issues facing Georgian voters, including economic challenges, a stand-off with two regions claiming indepence, judicial and anti-corruption reforms, and the country's split geopolitical orientation between Russia one the one hand and aspiring EU and NATO membership on the other. As always, we home in on where our collective intentions and prayers may contribute to a peaceful and prosperous future. This episode also supports the Labyrinth Activist Network's Peaceful and Free Elections events, holding intention in a year when nearly half the world's population go to the polls. Suggested specific focus for this week: As Georgia’s future appears balanced on a knife edge between backsliding on democracy, and aligning more strongly with Russia or turning westward with sights set on joining NATO and the EU, we suggest as our main intention for this week: We will that all who have influence will be moved to ensure that truly free and peaceful parliamentary elections will be held this year in Georgia that represent the will of the country’s people. Please join us in a holding this. | Uniting Hearts in a Time of Turmoil: Where to Focus our Intentions and Prayers in the Light of the Trump Assassination Attempt | 17 Jul 2024 | 00:23:57
Following the assassination attempt on U.S. Presidential candidate and former President Donald Trump last weekend, today we consider where we might be specific with our intentions and prayers. Drawing on expert insights, and attempting to avoid solutions based on our own political leanings, we remind ourselves, in the words of HeartMath Institute, of the vital energetic responsibility we may have in influencing a peaceable, free and hopeful path forward. Suggested focus for intention holding this week: As a special intention to hold this week, as we search for the positive awakening that might arise from the Butler shooting, we suggest as our main focus for intention: We will that all who might be motivated to encourage polarised reactions and advocate conspiracy theories in the wake of the shooting at Butler, PA this weekend will be stirred with compassion to reconsider their attention to fellow citizens and to uphold the right of others to hold alternative views in a free democracy. | Scorching Reality: Confronting Extreme Heat in the U.S. | 11 Jul 2024 | 00:25:43

We explore the devastating effects of record-breaking temperatures being felt across the country, with over 100 million people been placed under heat alerts. We learn about the causes, such as the creation of heat domes and urban heat islands, and the impacts on health, infrastructure, and daily life. In turning our attention to where our prayers and intentions may be most needed, we explore the urgent need for both short-term precautions and long-term adaptation strategies, emphasizing the importance of collaborative action from governments, healthcare providers, and communities . Join us in holding intentions for a committed and urgent response to this pressing issue. Together, we are more powerful to have impact. Suggested intention focus: Given how crucial it is for all to recognize that adaptation to heat is an ongoing process that requires continuous assessment, improvement, and collaboration across various sectors and levels of government, not to mention within communities and at an individual level, we suggest holding as our main focus for intention this week: We will that the need for a committed, collaborative and urgent long term response to the effects of rising temperatures will be deeply acknowledged by and prompt immediate concerted action among all US local, state and federal government administrations, healthcare providers, employers and community leaders.
