All things FOLLOW UP in Real Estate17 Jan 202300:53:05

House of Agents is a podcast that brings you all the hottest topics in real estate. Featuring interviews with experts, we take a deeper look at the stories behind the news and bring it straight to your ears. In this episode of House of Agents, hosts Tessa and Ramon discuss the different ways to follow-up with prospects in the real estate world. They explain the importance of creating a genuine connection through different means of contact, such as emails, texts, phone calls, and social media messages. Tessa and Ramon emphasize the importance of connecting with prospects in a stress-free, comfortable manner and how important it is to not give up – there are so many potential gains that come from persistent follow-up.

Enjoy!

Topics Discussed and Key Points:

● Consistency in communication and follow-up can help agents establish trust, build relationships, and close more deals.

● Text messages provide a personal touch that can make potential clients feel appreciated and valued. Agents should use text messages to ask questions, provide updates, and offer helpful advice.

● Agents should also take the time to get to know potential clients. Agents should ask questions and listen to the answers to gain insight into the client’s needs and wants.

● Agents should be creative with their follow-up. Agents should use a variety of methods to stay in touch with potential clients.

● The phrase “value is in the inefficiencies” is a way of saying that it is more valuable to take the time to show that you care about someone and their needs. By taking the time to write a personalized message or follow-up with a potential client, agents can show that they are invested in the relationship and demonstrate that they are willing to go the extra mile for their clients.

Notable Quotes

“When you think about social media, the power of social media is that when you message somebody or you like their story or comment or you engage, it is a stress free experience for the other person most of the time, because they are able to see who you are, what you're about, if they know you or not, you know, more or less what you do for a living, who your significant other is. It brings comfort to know who's on the other side of that text message or of that direct message. But then there's text messages, phone calls, emails - I feel like now it's almost like a little invasive to get a random text message. I like to think about people who I maybe don't have a strong relationship with yet. I like to do more of that on social media because they get a better feel for me. And usually, the people that I'm text messaging or calling, we already have that like and trust factor more or less.”

“There's a lot to be said for just purely the volume at which you remind people and show people that you are still in Real Estate and that you are setting yourself apart from other people. So many people get discouraged because they'll start posting on social media. It may not get the likes that you want, the comments, whatever it may be. It can be discouraging because you don't see that instant gratification for the effort that you put in. But there is so much value in simply the long-term consistency. I can't tell you how much has come out of just showing up on social media on a daily, weekly, monthly basis for six plus years. I have this certain reputation. I have this certain ability to connect with people because of what they've seen me consistently do over time even if that doesn't reflect in the actual engagement on that post.”

“The value is in the inefficiency. Because when you give somebody your time and you take the time, that’s the most valuable thing that we have. So, when you give it to somebody else it’s special. It's why a handwritten card means so much more than one that was typed because someone took a pen, was looking at it, wrote it down for you and then gave it to you. You just understand when people are giving you your time. So that phrase, ‘the value is in the inefficiencies’ is crucial to understanding how you can differentiate yourself from every other agent, because believe me, whether you're learning it today for the first time or not, you're not the only agent out there who's trying to pursue that person as a client.”

Notable Quotes

[00:02:56] “To be honest, the real estate started so early after I turned 18 that there wasn't a whole lot of, I would say, adult life. Before that, I moved down to Arizona.” [00:03:05]

[00:06:10] “I had to learn how to be personable. I had to learn how to build these relationships with people. And even if it was a short window of time where I'm basically just saying, ``Hi, I hope you're having a great day, here's your coffee, here's your change, but you still understand.” [00:06:25]

[00:11:00] “I think that the funny thing is, in hindsight, I never felt like I was in the right room. And I know that part of that is my own personal personality and characteristic as I tend to be somebody that always pushes myself. I'm quite a perfectionist and I always feel like I could be doing more.” [00:11:17]

[00:11:48] “I know that I grew up around a lot of boys. I like growing up in my household with three brothers and our neighborhood kids were all boys. And so we were always in heavy competition, whether it was sports or activities or they were always just picking on me and stuff. So, I think that was the spark that started my natural light, competitive spirit.” [00:12:09]

[00:12:53] “As you push yourself harder, you obviously achieve better results. As you achieve better results, you're like, Damn, I can really kind of do everything. I can do anything.” [00:13:02]

[00:19:12] “I enrolled in the University of Google, but truly, like, I will always preach it till the end of time that you can learn damn near anything you want to learn on Google and YouTube.” [00:19:22]

[00:23:45] “I've always had a very operational mind and you've probably just like on a personal level, you've seen some of how that goes into play. But when I see that something can have a system or a strategy around it, it's very easy for my mind to see steps one, two, three, four or five and then automate, delegate, and eliminate all that stuff.” [00:24:05]

[00:24:59] “I went to every networking event I could, I put myself in every room. I was a part of every group forum online and in person. Like I met up with so many people, I networked so much that that truly was the key that cracked the code.” [00:25:14]

[00:26:17] “I had a lot of close relationships and I think I doubled down on that, whether it was intentional or kind of subconsciously, I knew that like relationships would be what would carry me through that.” [00:26:28]

[00:27:59] “Real estate is beautiful and amazing. And I compare it a lot of times to like a communications degree because once you get that, you can essentially use it for anything.” [00:28:07]

[00:37:34] “I remember this day so vividly, the day that I got the contract on that first house that I ever flipped, I had -$0.36 in my bank account. The following weekend, my water got shut off and my power got shut off because I couldn't afford to pay for it.” [00:37:48]

[00:41:04] “Every single little thing that you say you're going to do contributes to the confidence that you build in yourself, which then plays into your ability to defeat the fears as they come up because nobody's immune to it.” [00:41:15]

[00:42:54] “The people who are the most successful have the most bounce back. They have the fastest rate of return from getting into those places where fear comes up, that comes up shame, embarrassment, like whatever emotions and negative things.” [00:43:09]

Notable Quotes:

“So you say, okay, I'm gonna outsource this. I'm gonna hire a transaction coordinator. I think that that's a great place to start. And then from there, you can start to look at, okay, what are the other pieces that I can outsource? What are the other pieces that I can delegate? What are the other pieces that I can leverage? And then you can start to build out a team that can help you increase your production while still maintaining that quality."

“If you want to increase your quantity, okay, first, you start with transactions. Now in order to increase quantity at scale, you have to find quality. Well, how do you find quality? It's through quantity.”

“The more transactions you do the more interactions you have and the more your ability to fine tune your process success and do more quality increases, but the only way to get to that point is to do a more quantity.”

"Act in precision, not in perfection.""

Optimization07 Feb 202300:54:39

Welcome to House of Agents podcast, where our host, Tessa and Ramon, discuss the importance of efficiency and optimization in your life and business. Notable Quotes:

“So that's kind of my key to optimization. I think it's really important to make note of what you're doing and how long it's taking you and then also give yourself a score. You can look back and be like, OK, this is what I did this week. This is what I did this month. And then you can also look back and say this is what I did this year.”

“I think that's the biggest mistake that people make is they don't even start because they think it's gonna be a lot of work. So I'm gonna give you a few of my favorite things that I think are really easy to implement and can have a huge impact on your life. So 1 of them is something that I've been doing for years, and it's something that I think is so important. That is to have a weekly review. So every Sunday, I take an hour or so and I review the week that I just had. I look at what I did, what I didn't do, what I could have done better, what I'm looking forward to in the upcoming week. And I think that's so important because it allows you to reflect on the week that you just had and it allows you to plan for the week that you're about to have. It allows you to be proactive instead of reactive. And it allows you to be intentional with your time and your energy.

"If you're not taking your time seriously, why should anybody else? I think that's a great example of how you can start to look at your calendar and start to look at your time and start to look at your business and say, Okay, I'm gonna take my time seriously. I'm gonna start to plan out my day. And then from there, you can start to look at what are the things that I need to do? What are the things that I need to delegate? What are the things that I need to outsource? What are the things that I need to automate? I think that's a great place to start.”

“The calendar is the most underutilized tool, and it starts there.”

"Busy feels good, but busy gets you nowhere."

You Will NOT hit Your Goals Without This...31 Jan 202300:48:00

In this episode of House of Agents, Tessa and Ramon discuss a range of ways to set and meet goals. They suggest focusing on the 8 main "equities" of life and assessing one's strengths and weaknesses across those areas. They emphasize that having the right attitude and enough money will not solve all of life's problems. Additionally, using all five senses to visualize the end goal and holding oneself accountable for the tasks is important. Tessa and Ramon’s takeaways are that goal setting requires thought and reflection, and being honest with oneself about what will motivate progress is key!

Enjoy!

Topics Discussed and Key Points:

●Setting Goals based on the 8 Main Equities of Life

●The Importance of Balanced Physical, Spiritual and Mental Health for Achieving Goals

●The Impact of Wealth on Life Satisfaction

●Exploring Other Senses to Enhance the Virtual Experience

●The Importance of Mindset and Taking an Intentional Approach to Real Estate

Notable Quotes

“A lot of times, agents will set these goals and they don't have a plan. They don't have a plan of how they're gonna get there. And then they don't have any sort of accountability. They don't have somebody that they can check in with. They don't have somebody that they can be like, ‘Hey, I'm not doing this. What do I need to do?’ Or, ‘hey, I'm doing this. What do I need to do next?’ And so those are some of the main reasons that I think agents get derailed pretty easily.”

"It really is just about small improvements. It's about that 1 percent compounding over time to get better in the long run."

“If you're trying to make a hundred and fifty grand, find people who are already making a hundred and fifty grand or more and just start to learn from them. Start to ask them questions. Start to get their advice. Start to get their feedback. Start to get their perspective on things. And then you start to believe that it's possible for you, too.”

"Not making the same mistake twice has to be on the top 3 things in order to be successful."
