A neat little chamber drama that punches waaaay above it's weight. It also has magic healing bullets, so there's that. We liked it though.

What an absolute delight of a film. It's very funny. Top notch indie horror/comedy done in a way that doesn't feel like it's punching down. Real, real good stuff.

It's mail. And it's Dead. And other stuff, too. Real weird stuff.

What can we say? Of course, Cobra. 

It's going to revolutionize the dining experience! Great movie. Real good stuff.

We don't believe this IS the last Hell House. If so, fine. Be done and bury it's defiled corpse behind the house/hotel/carnival/whatever. We genuinely don't care anymore.

Courtroom drama AND a spooky!? Hooray! Watch out for those cats though. They'll git ya.

We're back! And we're doctors now! Deeply disturbed, obsessive, possibly dangerous doctors. Oh, and we watched Rounding. It's really good.

It may be our least favorite in the Joko Anwar catalogue, but it's still better than most movies. Yup, we're griping about a sequel, again.

One of us loved it, the other just liked it. It's good. Promise.

It's not great. One of the most important character arcs belongs to a swimming pool, so there's that.

Hey, it's a sci-fi action movie with a solid horror premise. It's been done and done successfully. This isn't one of those. This one stinks.

This week we complain about a good movie simply because it exists. 

We love you Bill Paxton. 

It's a rootin'-tootin' look into depression and mental anguish in the Austria of yesteryear. Good times ahead. 

We love you Rutger Hauer, but this movie isn't good. In fact, it's bad. Infuriatingly bad at times. 

It ain't good. We wanted it to be, but it ain't. Sorry.

It's a 1985 Tobe Hooper space vampire flick. So yeah, it's a glorious turd. The kind you make your friends look at.

It's fine. We could have used a lot more or a lot less, but it's fine. 

Maybe the best movie we've ever talked about. It should probably be on "all-time best" lists, but, ya know, horror movie directed by a Mexican woman... Unbelievable film, though. 

A film that draws a very clear distinction between the two questions: Is it good? and Did I like it? Very, very well done film.

Immediately became one of our favorite films of all-time. Absolutely incredible. 100 out of 100 vampire puppets. You all know about the puppet scale, right?

To be reductive, it's Found Footage Evil Dead. To be specific, it's a modern triumph of horror from a hugely creative and talented wife/husband duo. It proves that millions of dollars are no substitute for raw talent.

Germans... What are ya gonna do? Can't live with 'em, can't commit unspeakable acts of murder without 'em. 

Now this is a giallo! Early example of why Mario Bava is considered one of the most influential horror filmmakers of all time. All-time classic, and for good reason.

Big ol' meh to this classic giallo. It has it's moments, but overall we were booooored as heck.

Found footage... From space!!! It's silly, but we like it a whole lot.

I mean, it's Copycat. It rules. A true shining gem of the psychological thriller genre.

We're going back to Uncle Larry and Glass Eye Pix this week. While it may not be an action packed scare-a-thon, this simple yet effective story really got us. It's pretty dang good, y'all.

Fulci and Halloween go together like chocolate and a gate to Hell in a Louisiana hotel basement. Yep.

We've been bamboozled! We were supposed to like this!

Again proving that Joko Anwar is one of our favorite working directors. 

More like a Goodity. 

Stacy Keach, Pam Grier, and Malcolm McDowell star in this absolutely wonderful tale of cyborg teachers, and the gangs of students they cannot wait to murder. Great movie.

If you're into practical FX that rule the school, then have we got good news for you! If you're into a good story that will keep you engaged, then we have some bad news for you...

It's classics week here on the ol' HV, and we're talking about the horror debut of one Mario Bava! You can practically hear our flesh sizzling with delight.

Is it a nature spirit? Or is it just weirdos eating drugs in the woods? Pretty neat movie either way. Not our favorite Ben Wheatley, but it's still pretty good.

Bad f*cking ass horror flick out of Africa! We absolutely loved it. More of this. More of this forever.

A criminally underrated 80's monster flick. It scratches all the spooky itches.

Jesus Jennifer Christ... This movie stinks. 

Hats off to a found footage horror film that is far better than it has any right to be. Cool little flick. Check it out!
