Anthony Medina is the Men’s Basketball Head Coach at the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas. He was hired in the summer of 2015 and is the second head coach in the history of the current program, having succeeded his former coach, Todd Smith. Medina previously served as a graduate assistant for Missouri Western State University’s men’s basketball team. Following his graduation from MWSU, Medina served as a varsity assistant coach at Oak Ridge High School. He is the owner and director of Medina Basketball, a youth basketball program in Houston. A standout basketball player during his career St. Thomas, Medina twice earned All-Red River Athletic Conference accolades and shot 40 percent from 3-point range for his collegiate career. At the conclusion of his career, Medina was UST’s all-time leader in points, rebounds, minutes played, games played, and 3-pointers made. Chris McHugh is in his seventh season as the head coach of the Washington and Lee University men's basketball program. The Generals have posted a 99-49 overall record during his tenure. McHugh was previously an assistant coach at Emory University. During his four years with the Eagles, the program registered an 80-31 overall record and made four straight NCAA Tournament appearances, including a run to the Elite Eight in 2013-2014. Prior to coaching with the Eagles, McHugh was an assistant coach at Connecticut College during the 2012-13 season and an assistant at Mount Saint Mary College from 2009-2012. McHugh graduated from Washington and Lee in 2009 and was a four-year letterwinner at guard for the Generals men’s basketball program. Kelly Flynn built a girls basketball dynasty at South Sioux City, ruling Class B for more than a decade, winning 11 state championships – 10 in the 11 years from 1995 to 2005. The Cardinals finished second in 1999. Flynn coached at South Sioux City for 27 years, piling up 508 career wins and 17 state tournament appearances. The Cardinals were nationally ranked for eight years, earning a No. 1 ranking in USA Today in 2001. Flynn was named national Coach of the Year in 2012 and was a national Coach of the Year runner-up in 2003. He coached in the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association All-American Game in 2003 in Atlanta and the McDonald’s All-American Game in 2005 in Indiana. Flynn finished his career at Fremont High School where he guided the Tigers to 98 wins and the school’s first Class A championship in 2022. Flynn became the sixth girls coach in Nebraska to reach the 600 win mark, finishing with 606 victories. Scott Fitch has been the head boys basketball coach at Fairport High School in New York since 2001. Fitch has been honored five times as the Monroe County Coach of the Year, twice as the Section V Coach of the Year and twice All-Greater Rochester Coach of the Year. He led his team to back-to-back Section V Championships in 2006 and 2007 and to the state final four in 2007. In 2016-17, Fitch led Fairport to a 22-2 record, a section title and the state championship game. Coach Fitch has also been deeply involved with USA Basketball. He has served as a court coach and assistant coach for various junior national team events and minicamps as well as a head coach for the USA Nike Hoop Summit. Scott was an assistant coach for the gold-medal-winning 2018 USA Men’s U17 World Cup Team and 2017 USA Men’s U16 National Team. As a player at State University of New York at Geneseo, Fitch was the 1994 NCAA Division III National Player of the Year, a 1993 and 1994 DIII All-America first-team selection, a four-time All-Eastern College Athletic Conference first-team member and the ECAC Player of the Year in 1993 and 1994. He played professionally for a brief time and currently works at Jostens where he specializes in class rings. He also speaks to students all over the country about leadership and social media. Chris McMillian is the Men’s Basketball Associate Head Coach at Central Michigan University. He joined Head Coach Tony Barbee’s staff as an assistant coach in May of 2021 and was promoted to associate head coach in August 2024. Prior to Central Michigan, McMillian spent two seasons at Idaho State (2019-21), after serving as the Director of Player Performance at Illinois-Chicago for four years, overseeing the design and implementation of the Flames' strength and conditioning program. McMillian's resume also includes stops as an assistant coach at the College of Southern Idaho (2014-15) and at Hawaii (2010-14), where he served first as the strength coach and video coordinator before being promoted to the director of basketball operations. He began his coaching career as the director of operations at Centenary College in 2009-10. As a player, McMillian was a four-year starter at Wyoming from 1998-2003 where he helped lead the Cowboys to two Mountain West Conference titles and an NCAA Tournament berth. Jake Diebler is the Head Men’s Basketball at the Ohio State University. He has been with the Buckeyes for a total of eight seasons. He was a video coordinator with the program from 2014-16 and then returned as an assistant coach prior to the 2019-20 season. He was promoted to associate head coach before the 2021-22 season and then was named interim head coach on Feb. 14, 2024. The first Ohioan to be Ohio State’s head coach in 35 years, Diebler led the Buckeyes to a 6-2 record in his time as the interim head coach. Following the Big Ten Tournament, Diebler was named the full time head coach and led the Buckeyes to the quarterfinals of the NIT. Overall, Diebler amassed an 8-3 record as head coach at the end of the 2023-24 season. Jake began his coaching career at Valparaiso with Bryce Drew from 2009-2013. He also worked for Drew at Vanderbilt from 2016-2019. As a player Jake holds the all-time Ohio high school career records in both assists (835) and steals (578). At Valparaiso, Diebler finished his Crusader career 10th with 130 career steals and 16th all-time at Valpo with 229 career assists. Todd Simon is entering his second season as the head coach of the Bowling Green State University’s men’s basketball program in 2024-25. In his first season with the Falcons, Coach Simon orchestrated one of the quickest turnarounds in program history. In his first season, the Falcons tallied 20 wins for just the 10th time in the program's MAC era, becoming one of 10 teams in the nation to go from 20 losses in 2022-23 to 20 wins in 2023-24. Simon joined the Falcons after spending seven seasons at Southern Utah as the head coach of the Thunderbirds. Under Simon’s leadership, Southern Utah went 118-96 with three straight 20 wins seasons from 2020-2023. Prior to arriving at Southern Utah, Simon was named interim head coach of the UNLV men's basketball program in January 2016 and was in his third year as associate head coach with UNLV. Before his time as a Runnin' Rebel, Simon served Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nevada for seven years in both head and assistant coaching roles. During his career Simon has helped develop and coach several players that have become top NBA draft picks, including Anthony Bennett, who was selected as the top overall pick in 2013, Rashad Vaughn, Avery Bradley, Christian Wood, Jorge Gutierrez, Cory Joseph, DeAndre Liggins, Nick Johnson and Tristan Thompson. Melissa Jackson is entering her first season as Youngstown State's Head Women's Basketball Coach in 2024-2025. She is the ninth head coach in the history of the Youngstown State University women’s basketball program. Jackson previously spent 15 seasons at Akron and the most recent campaign at Cleveland State. Her final five seasons in Akron were as the Zips’ head coach, and she is the only coach in the program’s history to have a winning record. Jackson held three different positions over her 15 seasons at Akron from 2008-23 and was part of the Zips’ best period in program history. She was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator on Jodi Kest’s staff from 2008-12, and she was elevated to the role of associate head coach alongside Kest from 2012-18. Jackson’s role in Akron’s success under Kest helped her earn a promotion to Akron’s head coach before the 2018-19 season, and she helped the Zips assemble a 72-69 record and 40 MAC victories in her five seasons. Jackson spent the first four years of her coaching career at Delaware from 2004-08 after graduating from the University of Richmond where she was a 4 year basketball student-athlete. Stephen Halstead is entering his fifth season as a men’s basketball assistant coach at NAIA Grace College in Indiana. Halstead served as a graduate assistant for his first two seasons, leading Grace's junior varsity squad while assisting with the varsity. In 2023-24 Grace was ranked as the No. 1 team in the country for much of the season. The Lancers won the regular season and postseason championships in the Crossroads League and were the overall No. 1 seed in the NAIA tournament. Grace then enjoyed its deepest run in the NAIA Div. I tournament era, reaching the Final Four. Halstead was a four-year member of Grace's basketball squad. He played from 2014-18 and finished his career with 151 made 3-pointers. Over the course of his 115-game career, he shot 42 percent on 3-pointers and 83 percent on free throws. Jon Jaques is entering his first season as the Mens’ Basketball Head Coach at Cornell University. Jacques has spent more than a decade as an assistant coach in the Ivy League, including the last 12 at Cornell. He has assisted in the development of 12 Big Red All-Ivy selections, including five first-teamers, and two CoSIDA Academic All-Americans. Prior to Cornell Jaques was part of Kyle Smith's 2012-13 staff at Columbia team. Jon began his coaching career at Stevens Institute of Technology under head coach Bobby Hurley in 2011. Jaques was a four-year member of the Cornell basketball team and a senior captain, emerging as a starter in his final season and developing into one of the nation's most improved players after playing a total of 108 minutes and scoring 33 points through his first three years. Jaques and his teammates won an Ivy League record 29 games and advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16, defeating nationally ranked opponents Temple and Wisconsin before falling to overall No. 1 seed Kentucky in the regional semifinals. In his four seasons on the team, Cornell went 88-33, including 47-9 in Ivy League play, and won three outright Ivy League titles. Darin Ford is the Boys’ Basketball Head Coach at Nordonia High School in the state of Ohio. He spent the past two seasons as an assistant at Westlake (OH) High School. As a high school head coach in New York and Florida Ford compiled a 41-29 record over three seasons. Darin has also had several stints as a college coach including stops at Indian River State College, Pratt Community College, and the University of Akron where he served as a graduate assistant. Ford's father Geno is currently the head coach at Stony Brook with previous stops at Bradley and Kent State, while his brother Dustin is the associate head coach at Akron. His grandfather, Gene Ford, was also a long-time successful high school coach in the state of Ohio.
