Raye Hollitt: Memories of Skin Deep and John Ritter, Zap on American Gladiators, and Her Former Bodybuilder Career09 Jul 202500:38:14
Welcome to Hollywood and Beyond Podcast. All of this and much more in a truly sentimental interview listening experience.   In 1989 John Ritter gave a phenomenal performance as a womanizing alcoholic with a bad case of writer’s block in Blake Edwards dramedy. In a natural and impressive performance Raye held her own with John.   What was it like working with John Ritter and being directed by Blake Edwards? Brenda Epperson -Y&R (Ashley Abbott), Music and Faith04 Feb 202001:06:19

Welcome to Hollywood and Beyond Podcast. My absolutely amazing conversation with the lovely Brenda Epperson is a sentimental look back at her impressive career. From  her early years to landing the role of Ashley Abbott on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS in 1988, her musical journey and her faith is all shared with Host Steven Brittingham. This interview is from the early days of Hollywood and Beyond and has been upgraded in sound with new editing. This was Steven's third audio interview back in 2016 when the show was airing on an online radio network. Now it premieres to Apple Podcasts, Podbean, iHeartRadio and more. Steven met Brenda in Hollywood years ago. They are now reunited on one of the show's most memorable conversations.

He is BACK!! The man behind schemer Adam Carrington on ABC’s DYNASTY returns to share even more television memories with Host Steven Brittingham. Including his latest appearance in Genoa City as a mysterious man from Chelsea’s (Melissa Claire Egan) past on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS (CBS).

Gordon Thomson shared so many memories of his career with me during his first visit. His discussion this time around is no different. This is definitely not a repeat. Fresh topics including even more DYNASTY memories not previously discussed, his experience recently on Y&R, and his detailed comments about portraying Mason Capwell on SANTA BARBARA are even more in-depth. Plus we discuss other talented co-stars we didn’t get to talk about last time including Jack Coleman (Steven Carrington) from DYNASTY and Nancy Lee Grahn from Santa Barbara, and his positive comments about Lauralee Bell (Y&R).

One of the moments I truly enjoyed was Gordon’s thoughts on Terri Garber. He was not only very impressed with her artistry but also found her to be someone with a rare combination of both beauty and as he put it “a profound depth to her.”

His latest theater role, his life today, his upfront opinions about the craft of acting, it is indeed an honor having Gordon back. It is also good to know I can get him to break out in spontaneous laughter here and there like our first encounter. This conversation with Gordon is sentimental, in-depth and a very detailed trip back down memory lane with an actor who is a prime example of excellence. Enjoy the show!

Cincinnati Host Steven Brittingham is an actor and writer,

Episode #3 of Season #2 features a spotlight on a lady of enormous talent and skill as an actor. Before conducting audio interviews I was often doing written interviews for an online magazine. Carrie Genzel was the first person I reached out to and her warm response uplifted me. I still credit her for inspiring me on this incredible journey of being a podcast host. Grateful and always appreciative towards that generosity from Carrie. And I always will be.

More importantly, this episode was originally recorded during the spring of 2018 and will now premiere here on numerous podcast listening services. By telling the story of her blog State Of Slay she is actually telling her personal story that featured a successful actress full of anxiety and completely immersed in darkness from within. Why did Carrie feel this way? And how did she find her way back to the light? Her answers will uplift you.

Find out more on this emotional and uplifting episode of Hollywood and Beyond with an Exclusive Interview that truly represents my efforts for “Meaning Interviews”.

Brett Newton - An Actor's Journey: LA to Atlanta04 Jun 202401:03:14
Brett Newton - An Actor’s Journey: LA to Atlanta   Welcome Greeting by Burt Ward and Carrie Mitchum   A big thank you goes out to actor, director and writer Brett Newton for visiting me on the podcast earlier this afternoon. In a truly engaging conversation, Brett shares what the audition process is like for Atlanta based actors, while providing valuable tips for video auditions. Plus, what he learned from his time in LA and so much more!   Find out why a scene as an unsympathetic paramedic on “Glow” (Netflix) that provided him with an opportunity to say snappy dialogue in the script to another character, would instead cause upcoming guest Brett Newton a great deal of personal misery both on the set and long afterwards. It would though provide Brett with a valuable lesson that he now firmly maintains today.   Atlanta based actor Brett Newton is my guest! Brett shares his artistic journey and the lessons learned along the way. Including suggestions on how to prepare for video home auditioning.    “Meaningful Interviews”   Hosted by actor and writer Steven Brittingham   Subscribe wherever podcasts are available to listen   Like what you hear? Anderson Cowan - Groupers (Director/Screenwriter)30 Sep 201900:44:34

Welcome to Season 2 with Episode 2! Episodes 1 and 2 both released the same day all about the new film Groupers. Episode 1 featured the leading actress from Groupers and this episode follows with the screenwriter and director of the film-Anderson Cowan! Learn all about the making of the film and what Anderson's true intentions were while writing the script.

Groupers is a film centers around two all-American high school jocks Brad and Dylan (Peter Mayer-Klepchick and Cameron Duckett) who are out for a night on the town when they are approached by the beautiful and seductive Meg (Nicole Dambro) at a local bar. Ready for what they hope will be a night to remember, the guys are subsequently kidnapped, drugged and awaken tied up face to face in an abandoned pool in the middle of nowhere. Absurdity and insanity ensue as we learn that Orin (Jesse Pudles), Meg’s overly flamboyant brother has been the target of Brad and Dylan’s homophobic bullying and that Meg is actually a grad student who plans to perform a psychological and somewhat sadistic experiment on them as part of her thesis, which poses the question, “is homosexuality a choice”. The Cinequest Film Festival referred to the film in its 2018 line up as “a rare, highly original, and super-charged dark comedy that will keep you guessing and contemplating the provocative, yet crucial themes at its essence”.

Diversity is a big goal of mine as host. There are so many areas that deserve recognition and respect. When it comes to voice overs, upcoming guest Freddy Moyano is a true artist in every sense of the word. Audiobooks and audio content are only a few areas of his talents. Acting is another. “Milkshake”, “Empire”, “Girl Assassin: The Search for Caesar”, "Mafia Ties" (Amazon) are some of the productions he has worked on as an actor.

His decision to leave behind the corporate world to pursue artistic projects is full of courage with a sincerity I found to be very appealing. Not to mention inspirational. He also happens to be a terrific person. I can’t honestly say enough good things about my upcoming guest Freddy Moyano!

Look for his interview here on Hollywood and Beyond. Listen to exclusive samples of his voice over work from selected audiobooks on the episode. Thank you goes out to Freddy for such a fun and meaningful interview experience.

Catherine Falk: The Peter Falk Bill16 Jun 201900:53:50

Catherine Falk: The Peter Falk Bill

Don’t think this could happen to you? Think again.

As an adult child imagine being prohibited from seeing your elderly parent who may be suffering from dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. You have no past history or issues that would keep you from being able to spend time with your parent. Yet, you are not able to spend that time together, and you are not informed of any health care, or even notified when the parent has died. Sounds unimaginable? Yet, for Catherine Falk, this was a harsh reality. How and why did this happen to Catherine?

The daughter of Peter Falk has completed an interview with me about her ordeal that resulted in the process of changing the laws across the country so that all adult children can have fair access to a parent during their final days.

At 18 years of age, she signed a long-term contract with Paramount Pictures. The studio was drawn in by her beauty and had high hopes for her potential. Despite her extreme shyness, the studio took the approach that with acting coaches she would possibly become one of their biggest stars. Unfortunately, alcohol would be the choice of comfort to deal with shyness and anxiety at the most highest of levels. Several comebacks would be plagued by both mild and serious car accidents, periods of isolation, and an ongoing battle with alcoholism.

Her name is Gail Russell. A career that included films “The Uninvited” (1944) with Ray Milland, and with John Wayne in “Angel and the Badman” (1947). Despite her remarkable accomplishments as an actress, she would eventually be released by Paramount Pictures due to fears her drinking was worsening.

Gail Russell was only 36 years old when she was found dead in her apartment. What was found beside her speaks volumes of her emotional struggles. Did Gail Russell really want to be an actress? What was behind her chronic shyness that caused her so much distress in front of the camera? And what actually would make this silver screen beauty feel actual happiness and peace?

Learn more about Gail Russell as Hollywood historian and special guest Geoffrey Mark shares her biography with you the listeners. Join Host Steven Brittingham in paying tribute to a Hollywood star who deserves to be remembered on what will surely be a heartfelt episode of Hollywood and Beyond Podcast.

I am truly excited about the next episode. My special guest is Tom McLoughlin. The screenwriter/director of “Friday the 13th Part 6: Jason Lives”. Many of you might assume that is the only topic focused on. Nothing could be further from the truth! Half the episode goes by before we dive into the making of Jason Lives. Remembering Michael Landon: with Geoffrey Mark, Chris Hendrie and Judith Chapman A Hollywood and Beyond with Steven Brittingham Podcast Special Presentation:

Remembering Michael Landon: with Geoffrey Mark, Chris Hendrie and Judith Chapman

Episode Created, Produced, Edited, and Hosted by: Steven Brittingham

I am extra excited about this Michael Landon special episode event. Recently, I concluded viewing the entire “Highway to Heaven” series via Netflix. Almost every episode listed Michael Landon during the opening credits as starring, written by, directed by, producer. He was doing all of this years before on “Little House on the Prairie” and even on “Bonanza.” Michael was heavily involved with his artistic projects to the fullest extent. What was his driving force? Was he striving for specific artistic goals? My three amazing guests have much to say about Michael’s incredible accomplishments, his life and who he was as a man.

The official title is: Remembering Michael Landon with Geoffrey Mark, Chris Hendrie and Judith Chapman. They are listed in order of appearance. All three interviews have specific topics but with one main theme - honoring Michael Landon as both an artist and a man.

This episode has three chapters. Here are the chapters, guests, and chapter topics:

Part One: Geoffrey Mark, a Hollywood historian who also happens to be an author among many other titles, will be sharing with all of you Michael's early life years, early acting career, and 'Bonanza'. He will then share Michael's friendship with Johnny Carson, his life as a father, and his courageous final days.

Here is what is extra exciting for me as a host. I continue to challenge myself artistically. This first chapter is not a typical conversation or question and answer format. Instead, for this chapter only, I will be mentioning various topics or questions with Geoffrey sharing the answer in a storytelling approach. Sit back and just let Geoffrey share his knowledge and stories of Michael, with only a few moments of me heard during this segment. First time ever taking this approach but it works so well for listening to Michael's biography. Geoffrey also shares his knowledge about Michael in a respectful and entertaining manner.

Part Two: Chris Hendrie, an accomplished actor who once worked with Anthony Perkins, shares his memorable role on "Little House on the Prairie" and the intense conclusion of his two-part episode appearance on that show. This is a highly regarded two-part episode that aired on "Little House on the Prairie" - and Chris shares all of it with you. He also shares his experience on 'Highway to Heaven', and Michael’s master approach to artistic projects. Hear carefully selected clips from these episodes, put together by me in a dramatic and heartfelt manner.

(Part Two and Three is a conversation/interview approach you often hear me take on every episode of Hollywood and Beyond.)

Chapter Three: The amazing and dynamic Judith Chapman shares the backstory of her memorable performance on a outstanding 'Highway to Heaven' episode. She also shares a personal story involving Michael, and his daughter Jennifer. There are some heartfelt and emotional moments with my conversation with this wonderful actress. Not to be missed!

Lastly, there will also be a special introduction to the episode by me. At the conclusion of the episode who better to end this epic episode than the man himself - Michael Landon.

There are carefully selected clips, music, and much more. I can't say enough how this is a truly emotional and informative special episode event. Running time is close to three hours in length. This is the sort of experience where you grab your favorite drinks and feel the emotional experience of "Remembering Michael Landon with Geoffrey Mark, Chris Hendrie and Judith Chapman."

She made the decision to eat healthier, and went from being "heavyset" onto an incredible transformation with her weight. Four years in the Virginia Army National Guard and earning a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration only adds to her impressive artistic and personal journey. Jesi Jensen inspired me. From the stage to television and film, there is much to discuss! Honored to welcome Gordon Thomson to Hollywood and Beyond Podcast. Exclusive Interview!
