Ayelet Mamo Shay - Ladies That Rock The Rock04 Mar 202500:40:55

We were honoured to interview Ayelet Mamo Shay, a business woman, journalist and professional researcher of small Jewish communities around the world, moved with her husband and children to Gibraltar from Israel following a job offer. Since arriving in Gibraltar, Ayelet has felt that she has been “cheating” on her country by falling in love with the other country that has welcomed her so warmly- Gibraltar! Despite the challenges and dilemmas of moving to a new country, Ayelet has embraced the opportunities offered by the relocation to become a good ambassador for both her native Israel and Gibraltar.

This life-changing experience has given Ayelet the inspiration to write her book Relocation Darling, Relocation! - a realistic, humorous, emotional novel about the hottest and most charged topic in modern society today, one that touches many families across the world: relocation to another country in pursuit of a promising career.

Ayelet is the Co-Founder and Director of Benefit Business Solutions Ltd (www.benefitgibraltar.com )- a Gibraltar based business consultancy firm. She also serves as the Chairwoman of the Gibraltar-Israel Chamber of Commerce (www.gibrael.org), actively working to strengthen the business relations between the two countries and promoting business opportunities across the two ends of the Mediterranean. Gibraltar, with its small but thriving Jewish community, has also given Ayelet the inspiration to do her PhD research on small Jewish communities (under 1,000 people) around the world. As part of this research Ayelet visits small Jewish communities around the world, interviews community leaders and other key individuals, and writes reports and articles which have been published in numerous publications and magazines around the world.

Relocation Darling, Relocation! Was originally published in 2015 in Hebrew and has proven very popular amongst the Israeli expat community worldwide. In 2017, the book was translated to English thanks to a grant from the Gibraltar Ministry of Culture and since then became a must read for anyone who is planning to do a relocation, is currently on relocation, or has returned from a relocation assignment.

These weekly over views are a really honest way for myself and right hand man Adam to review the week growing the Hey Gibraltar 🇬🇮 community.

Normally these types of discussions and vulnerabilities would never be shared to the public.

We share our thoughts transparently on the struggles and learnings we've had in the past week and how we will build on from them for next week keeping the Hey Gibraltar 🇬🇮 community our main focus.

Join the entrepreneurial community in Gibraltar. Event with Zigul's CEO Mark Hipperson15 Feb 202500:09:00

If you are entrepreneurial minded in anyway I would highly recommend you join Start Up Grind in Gibraltar - Click here.

I explain my first experience with an event at the Sunborn which was hosted by chapter director Denise Matthews who welcomed keynote speaker Ziglu's Founder and CEO Mark Hipperson.

Mark's delightfully entertaining story telling of how he founded the business and how they were acquired kept the lessons of wisdom powerful and thought provoking.

I managed to have a quick chat and photo with Mark at the end.

Looking forward to the next event hosted by Denise and the start up grind.

The Hub TV Show Interview - Don't Use The "M" word LIVE on TV...20 Mar 202500:21:50

What an incredible experience being invited onto the Hub TV show with my co-host Adam Kaan.

Was great to share the growth of Hey Gibraltar and the great initiatives we are planning to do within the community.

I definitely need more media training as I used the "M" word LIVE on TV which is strictly forbidden it seems even though we all know it's happening.

Adam back tracked and covered my tracks quickly along with the presenters lol

Thanks guys.

Ella's dog grooming success story - What it's like starting a business as an expat to Gibraltar?08 Jun 202500:27:24

In today’s episode, I sat down with someone incredibly inspiring — Ella, a brave soul who did something most only dream of... ✨ She packed up her life in the UK, sold everything, and moved her family to the sun-soaked shores of beautiful Gibraltar 🇬🇮.

Why? Because like many, they felt the UK was no longer the place they once knew — it felt less safe, more uncertain. So, they took a leap of faith 💫 and started fresh in 2025, with hope in their hearts and a vision for a better life 💛.

We talk about the real journey — the highs, the struggles, and everything in between. From building a business from scratch 💼 to adjusting to a whole new world 🌍, Ella opens up with honesty, courage, and a whole lot of heart ❤️.

Whether you’re thinking about moving, have already moved, or just need a little motivation to follow your gut and make bold moves... this one’s for you 💥

🎧 Let’s dive in. This is a story about freedom, faith, and finding home.
