110// The Best News Ever: Jesus Lives! Mark 16
In this episode, we wrap up the Mark series with the miraculous story of Jesus' resurrection from the dead. Jesus’ rising from the grave is the ultimate victory over sin and death, giving us hope and the promise of eternal life. We explore how the women at the tomb reacted, the angel’s message of hope, and what it means for us today. This episode invites us to celebrate the joy of Jesus' victory and live with confidence, knowing that we are loved by a risen Savior who will one day return.
Key Points for Kids:
- Jesus' resurrection means that death is not the end—it’s a new beginning.
- The empty tomb shows that Jesus is alive, just like He promised.
- The angel told the women not to be afraid, reminding us to trust God even when we’re scared.
- Jesus' resurrection assures us that we can have eternal life with Him.
- Because Jesus is alive, we can live with joy and hope every day.

109// The Day Love Won: Jesus’ Sacrifice on the Cross: Mark 15
In this episode, we reflect on the powerful and emotional story of Jesus’ crucifixion. Mark 15 takes us through the events leading up to Jesus’ death on the cross, including His suffering, mockery, and sacrifice. Even in the face of pain, Jesus chose to obey God’s plan for salvation. This episode reminds us that Jesus’ love for us is so deep that He willingly gave His life to forgive our sins and restore our relationship with God.
Key Points for Kids:
- Jesus suffered greatly to take away our sins and give us new life.
- Even though people mocked and hurt Jesus, He chose to love and forgive.
- Jesus’ death on the cross shows us how much He loves us and how powerful God’s plan is.
- The temple curtain tearing symbolizes that we can now have a close relationship with God.
- Because of Jesus, we can live with hope, knowing that sin and death do not have the final say.
Memory Verse:
“You were dead because of your sins…then God made you alive with Christ, for He forgave all our sins.” —Colossians 2:13-14 (NLT, paraphrased)

83// Growing Our Friendship With God: Mark 3:13-18
In this conversation, Rachael discusses the 12 disciples and their relationship with Jesus. She explains that Jesus called these men to be his closest followers and trained them to preach, teach, and minister to people. The disciples witnessed Jesus' miracles and learned from him firsthand. Rachael emphasizes that we can know Jesus as well as his disciples did by following him, praying, and studying his word. She also encourages listeners to help others learn about Jesus and be confident in their friendship with God.

107// The Woman with the Jar: A Gift of Love: Mark 14: 1-9
In this episode, we explore the touching story of a woman who poured expensive perfume on Jesus, offering all she had to honor Him. Jesus praises her act of love and sacrifice, teaching us about the importance of giving from the heart. This story reminds us that God values the intention behind our gifts more than the size or cost.
Key Points for Kids:
• Jesus values acts of love and sacrifice, no matter how small they may seem.
• True worship comes from a heart that gives joyfully and sincerely.
• The woman’s offering was not just perfume—it was a symbol of her love, trust, and devotion to Jesus.
• We can honor God with our time, talents, and kindness, just like the woman honored Jesus.
• Jesus sees and appreciates every act of love we give to Him.
Memory Verse:
“She did what she could. She poured perfume on my body beforehand to prepare for my burial.” —Mark 14:8

73// Preparing for Jesus: Mark 1:1-8
During Bible times, God used messengers to spread His word since they didn't have TVs, computers, or newspapers. One of these messengers was John the Baptist, who prepared the way for Jesus by baptizing people and calling them to repent. John brought the good news that the Messiah was coming, and he always pointed back to Jesus. Just like John, we have the job of telling others about Jesus and helping them prepare for His coming. We can trust that God always keeps His promises.

106// When Will Jesus Come Back: Mark 13:24-37
Waiting can be tough, but waiting for something awesome makes it worth it! In this episode, we learn from the parable of the fig tree in Mark 13:24-37. Jesus promises to return one day, and even though we don’t know exactly when, we can be excited and ready. This lesson shows how we can trust God’s promises and stay close to Him, no matter what’s happening around us.
**Key Points:**
- Jesus promised that He will return one day, and we don’t know when.
- Even when life feels hard or confusing, God’s Word never changes.
- Staying ready for Jesus means loving God, praying, and living for Him every day.
- We can be excited, not scared, because Jesus loves us and will take us to be with Him forever!

70// Jesus Gives His Friends (And Us!) A Very Important Job: A Kids Daily Devotional, Kids Bible Study
Do you like to receive mail? I love going to pick up mail from the mailbox and seeing what's inside, especially around the Christmas time of year when things might be presents or gifts. But the mail also carries important information, bills and news for us. What do you think what happened if the mail carriers decided that they just didn't want to do their jobs anymore? We might miss out on something that we really needed to know.
Well, just like mail carriers, we have an essential job, too. We’re supposed to spread the good news of the gospel to our friends, neighbors and communities. That job is the Great Commission, and today as we wrap up the book of Matthew, we’ll talk about what the Great Commission means for us today.
This episode coincides with episode 456 of the adult version of the Hearing Jesus Podcast.
