The Problem With Eating "Healthy"26 Jun 202300:06:08

In this episode I wanted to challenge the notion of labeling food as either "good" or "bad", because it’s important to listen to our bodies' unique needs. But by fixating on rigid definitions of "healthy" is and should look like,  we often overlook our own internal cues and convince ourselves that we are making the right choices for our bodies, even when it may not align with how we truly feel.

The episode sheds light on the detrimental effects of categorizing foods as good or bad, highlighting how this mindset can lead to disordered eating patterns and a disconnection from our body's innate wisdom.

I think it’s time to shift our focus from external food judgments to internal body awareness.

By dismantling food stigma, we get to embrace a more holistic approach to nourishment.  Because by tuning into our internal guidance, we can forge a healthier and more intuitive relationship with food, promoting overall wellness and self-care.

The Cycle Strategy to Unlocking the Power of Menstrual Awareness16 May 202300:12:05

In this thought-provoking podcast episode, I reflect on how society, largely unaware of the intricacies of menstrual flow, fails to accommodate women adequately. Us women, however, we can adopt a transformative concept: the cycle strategy—a framework that empowers women to align their lives with their menstrual cycles, which is a complete game-changer.

Through understanding our own cycles, we can actively reshape our routines, work environments, and relationships to harness the full potential of each phase every month.

Reducing the Toxic Load For Better Health w/ Stephanie Spurgeon17 Apr 202300:39:31

What does non-toxic really mean? There are so many regulations that allow a lot of chemicals to still enter the consumer market. While one trace amount might not be a big deal, we need to consider the constant and repetitive exposure, and what this is doing to our health. In today’s episode I sit down with Stephanie Spurgen and we deep dive into areas that might be more harmful than we think and what we can do to improve our health.

Steph is a trained Functional Nutritionist, the host of the Health in the Details Podcast and  founder of the education platform Picture Your Health. She  knows health goes far beyond whats on your plate and  understands that  approaching holistic health can often feel like you’re just piecing all together. Why We Shouldn't Feel Guilty About Pleasurable Foods10 Apr 202300:06:21

Are there certain foods that you absolutely love but can't help feeling guilty about? Maybe it's a slice of your favorite pizza or a decadent dessert that always leaves you feeling a little ashamed. Well, in this episode, I’m here to tell you that it doesn't have to be that way.

I dive into the societal norms and cultural conditioning that have made us feel guilty for enjoying certain foods, and explore how this guilt can actually harm our relationship with food and our bodies. I intend to challenge the notion of "good foods" versus "bad foods" and discuss how this mindset can lead to a disordered relationship with food.

Join me in this episode as I delve into the concept of pleasure and why it's so important to allow ourselves to enjoy the foods we love without guilt or shame. Let’s shift our mindset and embrace a more positive relationship with food, so we can enjoy our favorite foods with joy and appreciation!
