Tiny Voice Talks with Toria Bono30 Apr 202200:47:59

One of Learning Ladders' Best Podcasts for Headteachers and Educators 2021, Tiny Voice Talks gives a platform to the quieter voices in education. Toria is a primary teacher passionate about education and building a better future for all, and in this podcast she chats to teachers, leaders, authors and advisors about what they are doing and how they're impacting the young people in our classrooms.

In this episode, Toria spoke with our storyteller Chip Colquhoun – but WHOA! Don't go thinking this is just another chat about ways to present literacy. Chip has spent 15 years helping schools use storytelling to boost attainment in all core curriculum subjects, seeing several raise their OFSTED rating from "Requires improvement" to "Good" or "Outstanding", and conducted the world's first controlled study into the impact of storytelling on primary children (with EU Lifelong Learning) which demonstrated how storytelling can improve test scores.

After Toria and Chip take you on a journey spanning 40,000 years to explore why and how storytelling is such a powerful tool in your classroom, search your podcast player for "Tiny Voice Talks"! And if you're in education and want your voice heard, find Toria on Twitter via @toriaclaire.

To access many more story-led teaching resources from Chip and the Epic team, including an ever-expanding archive of storytelling videos you can share with your class and a book series illustrated by Winnie the Witch's Korky Paul, head to epictales.co.uk/learning
