The Unnamed Grief Of Chronic Illness with Brenda Snow | EP 45904 Nov 202501:04:33

When we think of grief, we often picture death. But what about the silent grief that comes from illness — the kind that alters your identity, steals your energy, and isolates you from the world?

In this powerful episode, I speak with Brenda Snow, a woman who turned a life-changing diagnosis into a movement that’s touched millions. After being dismissed by doctors and told her symptoms were “all in her head,” Brenda found herself at rock bottom — until a single moment with her young daughter re-ignited her will to fight.

Now the founder of Snow Companies and author of Diagnosed: The Essential Guide to Navigating the Patient Journey, Brenda shares how she walked through grief, reclaimed her identity, and built a life of purpose.

We cover:

  • The “unnamed grief” of chronic illness
  • Why hope is essential — even before a diagnosis
  • How Brenda went from patient to pioneer
  • The power of storytelling in healing and advocacy
  • What the healthcare system must do better
  • Rebuilding identity when your body feels like a stranger
  • The difference between giving up and accepting what is

I was especially moved by Brenda’s metaphor of taking MS “by the hand.” It reminded me of the core truth of Grief 2 Growth: we’re not buried—we’re planted. 🌱

The Mountaintop: Visions, Sacrifices, and the Real Founding of America- EP 33015 Jan 202400:06:55

On this special episode commemorating Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we reflect on Dr. King's remarkable vision for justice and how his legacy continues to guide us. Exploring parallels between figures like Jesus Christ and Dr. King, we discuss how both challenged societal norms and systems of inequality with radical ideals. Just as Jesus provided spiritual salvation, Dr. King fought for equality with the power of nonviolence. We remember that like Jesus, Dr. King knew the danger of the path he walked, which ultimately led to his martyrdom. However, his sacrifice became a catalyst for change.

As we stride towards the metaphorical mountaintop of an equitable society, we must carry Dr. King’s torch forward. His dream requires our commitment, courage and love to keep it alive. Although Dr. King did not reach the promised land he foresaw, his spirit persists to lead us on this journey of continuous striving for justice. We walk this path together, keeping his ideals at the forefront with each step.

Escaping Wasted Suffering by Awakening to Reality as a Lucid Dream EP 32810 Jan 202401:11:54

What if life is just a dream we have yet to awaken from (or awaken within)? My returning guest, Cailín Callahan, provides a fascinating explanation of reality as merely a dream state in my latest grief to growth podcast. Our episode covers material from her newest book, Rise (In Lucidity and Master Anxiety). You can purchase Rise at: https://crackedpotpublications.com

Having had out-of-body experiences, Cailín explains how perception, self-talk, and emotional state shape our experience – even influencing supposed exterior events. Like a lucid dream, we can transform suffering into joy and obstacles into opportunities with an awakened level of consciousness.

By becoming "lucid" observers and wresting control from an undisciplined, reactive mind, we can reach equanimity regardless of external conditions. Distress arises from identification with the body, emotions, and rampant thoughts rather than underlying universal awareness.

Delve into the parallels between dreams versus waking life, escaping "wasted suffering," using challenges for growth, and even consciously transitioning between planes of existence. Expand your self-mastery and spiritual perspective with this profound view of life as a malleable dream open to awakened direction.

Cal will join us to discuss this further. Join the conversation at www.grief2growth.com/community

What Would You Do If Tomorrow Was Guaranteed To Be Your Last Day On Earth? EP 32526 Dec 202301:19:13

What would you do if tomorrow was guaranteed to be your last day on Earth?

This soul-searching question gripped Kate Mansur after she lost four friends in shocking deaths. Listen as she shares her journey from paralyzing fear to empowered living as mortality awoke her to what truly matters. After unexpectedly losing four close friends, Kate Mansur found herself gripped with a paralyzing fear of death. She had blindly assumed she'd live to a ripe old age, but the abrupt deaths of her young friends shattered this belief.

Plunged into an existential crisis, Kate gradually moved from trauma to growth as she realized the utter lack of control we have over our mortality. Her perspective profoundly shifted after the death of her adventurous friend Dan, who fully lived chasing his dreams until his tragic end on Mount Everest.

Kate shares her journey from fearful and playing it safe while working at Google, to radically reinventing her life in alignment with her curiosity and joy. She explains how acknowledging the fragility of life can be a gateway to awakening - helping us gain clarity, urgency, and motivation to live authentically without clinging to societal expectations.

Kate also provides psychological insights into our fear of death, the concept of post-traumatic growth, and actionable ways we can cultivate aliveness by embracing uncertainty. Tune in for an inspiring and insightful conversation!

👀 Find Out What Unseen Forces Influence Your Behavior- with Frances Key18 Dec 202301:18:26

If you've ever longed to lift the veil and understand what lies beyond this earthly realm, this profound wisdom from Frankie Key will open your eyes and heart. Tune in now to glimpse eternity and your divine connection to life.  Frankie has been on the program before.  I will continue to have her back because her message is just that important. I want everyone to understand it.

Frankie has been passionate about spiritual growth from a young age. She shares extraordinary insights gained through personal tragedy and channeling wisdom from her deceased mother and spiritual team.

Tune in to discover profound perspectives as Frankie reveals:

- We are all part of spiritual teams working together across dimensions for human evolution
- Our thoughts and actions contribute vibrational energy to collective spheres which influence events
- Doing our inner work and raising consciousness is how we impact outer events
- Self-condemnation comes from pride, true humility recognizes we all make mistakes
- Forgiveness sets us free from past pain and interrupts cycles of revenge

Quotes from the interview:

"You are not alone. You're not even functioning as one person. Nobody is, for you are a member of a team, a spiritual team, as close to you as breathing."

"Everything is layered, one upon the other, and grouped into a unified point. So everything is built upon each other and accomplished."

"As soon as you catch it, even if it's little, you know, if it's very small if it's a nudge, it starts to lose its power. You know, when you can name it."

You've been listening. You're doing the work. But there's still this feeling that you're circling the same place.

I get that. And I want you to know there's still a place for you.

Lessons From the Aegean: What a Mediterranean Cruise Taught Me EP 44709 Sep 202500:10:49

🎙️ Lessons From the Aegean

In this special episode, I’m recording from Mykonos, Greece, during a once-in-a-lifetime Mediterranean vacation with some of my dearest friends. If you know me, you know I don’t usually enjoy long trips or being far from home. But this journey has surprised me in ways I couldn’t have imagined.

Over the past week, I’ve:

  • Faced my fears of being “stuck” at sea for 48 hours.
  • Learned to slow down and enjoy the journey—not just the destination.
  • Witnessed incredible resilience from my friend Lisa, who joined this cruise only five months after the sudden passing of her husband, Mike.
  • Reflected on the strength of friendships that have lasted decades through celebrations, illnesses, grief, and growth.
  • Climbed the 587 steps of Santorini—both a physical and metaphorical reminder of the climbs we all face in life.

As I sit here watching the Aegean Sea, I’m reminded that life is short, unpredictable, and precious. Whether we get five minutes, five years, or fifty years with someone we love, it is all a blessing.

✨ My hope is that this episode encourages you to slow down, savor the journey, and grab every bit of life you can—because the ride itself is the gift

In our latest episode, we dive deep into these questions with Matthew Brackett, an executive leadership coach and resiliency expert. Known for his unique wisdom stemming from his experiences growing up in a large family and international service, Matthew provides profound insights into navigating complex territories such as self-hatred, depression, and the practice of compassion and empathy.

Brackett’s insights guide us to understand the significance of healthy leadership, authority, and the transformative power of pain. We talk about the often-used phrase "everything happens for a reason" and challenge it by encouraging you to find meaning and purpose in tragedy as a way to move forward. We challenge common misconceptions, examining the influence of charismatic leaders in shaping religious ideologies and discussing the need for a more inclusive and compassionate approach to faith. We share Matthew's experiences growing up in a large family and the lessons learned about community, responsibility, and intentional decisions. We then shift the conversation towards understanding ego, diversity, and human dignity, highlighting the importance of being honest with ourselves and dealing with our emotions. Mother's Alzheimer's, Son's Love: Edward Grinnan's Search for Answers01 Nov 202301:18:07

What if the journey through grief could transform into a journey of faith and hope? That's the challenge Edward Grinnan, esteemed editor-in-chief of Guidepost Publications and author, took up as he faced his mother's Alzheimer's. His raw and poignant memoir, A Journey of Faith: A Mother's Alzheimer's, a Son's Love, and His Search for Answers, illuminates this paradoxical journey. As we unpack Edward's story, we discuss his experiences, from the crucible of his mother's illness his grandfather's influence on understanding Alzheimer's, to his extensive career at Guidepost Publications.

Edward also shared with me how he is coping with his wife's suicide due to an incurable illness.

Edward's narrative is a testament to the power of faith, love, and presence in the face of grief and Alzheimer's. We explore the concepts of being present with loved ones, especially those suffering from dementia, shining a light on the healing power of empathy. We also address the impact of suicide grief, often overlooked, detailing the intense emotions of guilt, shame, and anger, while highlighting the importance of acceptance, understanding, and supportive language in moving forward.

Our conversation also navigates through the role and power of faith in dark times, featuring a touching story of faith shared between a young boy and his parents. We delve into the teachings of Dr. Normal Vincent Peale, a figure who transformed his personal insecurities into an inspiring story of strength and wisdom. Wrapping up with the idea that suffering can lead to growth, Edward's story stands as a beacon of hope over bitterness during challenging times.

You've been listening. You're doing the work. But there's still this feeling that you're circling the same place.

Maybe you've thought about working with me one-on-one. Maybe something's held you back.

I get that. And I want you to know there's still a place for you.

Unraveling the Power of Quantum Energy for Profound Healing12 Oct 202301:09:30

How can your body's natural energy steer you toward healing and transformation? Today, I introduce you to Joshua Bloom, a quantum energy transformation expert who redefines conventional paradigms with his groundbreaking work. This episode is a journey of discovery, as we discuss the limitations of the traditional Newtonian worldview and how a quantum perspective opens up fields of possibilities. We delve into how our body oscillates between two states - growth and protection - and how understanding this can catalyze profound healing.

Our conversation with Joshua takes a fascinating turn as we delve into processing complex emotions such as grief and anxiety. He unfolds the power of 'being quantum,' and how staying present using the body to move energy can be life-changing. We also explore the use of chakra systems in this approach and how it's a powerful tool for navigating meditation techniques. Joshua shares his journey from breakdown to breakthrough, lighting the path for others to follow.

But that's not all! We challenge traditional medical models and their short-term fixes versus the holistic, empowering quantum energy transformation. Joshua enlightens us about the power of manifestation and how quantum change helps in shifting identities from a place of problems to potential. As we wrap up this enlightening episode, you'll be equipped with valuable insights to navigate your journey of transformation and healing, the quantum way!

What The Near Death Experience Tells Us About The Love Of God20 Sep 202301:02:49

Imagine engaging in a spellbinding exchange about near-death experiences and their profound resemblance across cultures and religions. Pastor John Burke, renowned for his years of research and insight into this riveting topic, shares his perception of these experiences, emphasizing the sense of divine love individuals often encounter - a love he believes mirrors God's "first love."

In this episode, we journey through compelling evidence supporting near-death experiences, discussing unique phenomena like the ability of blind people to see and veridical observations. We dare to question the possibility of these experiences being merely biological, given that people from all walks of life report the same universal encounters with God. Pastor Burke offers his enlightening viewpoint on God's image as seen by many - a brilliant light, brighter than the sun, but gentle to the gaze.

The peak of our conversation arrives as we share captivating personal accounts of near-death experiences, including those of a neurologist and psychiatrist, and a Hindu manufacturing engineer. The description of their encounters with an overwhelming energy of love and infinite knowledge is nothing short of awe-inspiring.

We conclude our discussion with insights from his latest book, 'Imagine The God Of Heaven,' where we contemplate God's omnipresence, the healing power of emotional wounds, and God's omnipresent grace and mercy.

Tune in to this mesmerizing conversation and let us unravel the multidimensional aspects of God's love and mercy together.

Join me, your host Brian, for a captivating journey into the curious domain of mediumship alongside my good friend, acclaimed psychic medium and scholarly attorney Mark Anthony. Prepare to have your preconceptions of the spirit world blown away as we dissect the scientific reality behind mediumship, exploring thermodynamics, neuroscience, and the enigma of quantum physics. We'll introduce you to the concept of an electromagnetic soul, the pure energy that bridges our connection to the spirit realm, and the answer to the age-old questions about existence beyond the material world.

Packed with intriguing anecdotes and personal testimonies, this conversation is bound to revolutionize your perception of the unseen world.

In this conversation, we navigate the labyrinth of spirit communication, touching on Einstein's Theory of Relativity and its role in explaining how spirits perceive future events. We delve into the mysteries of near-death experiences, cultural perceptions of divinity, and the transformative power of love. Guided by Mark Anthony's insightful narratives, we delve into the potential of collective consciousness communication and the manifestation of divine interconnectedness in our lives. Navigating the Paranormal: Phill Webster's Journey into the Afterlife16 Aug 202301:07:40

Have you ever wondered what happens after we bid goodbye to this world? In this episode, I engage in a compelling conversation with Phil Webster, author of Letting Glow. Phil’s spiritual journey began after the loss of his beloved mother during the pandemic, leading him from skepticism to an exploration of mediumship. He generously shares his experiences from grief to personal growth.

As we navigate through Phil's journey, we uncover his remarkable transition. He tells us about his initial encounters with a medium's book and a church service which changed his life forever. Fascinating stories about a late-night FaceTime call, a Blu-ray of Doctor Strange, and a name written in chalk on a café chalkboard all lead to profound spiritual awakenings. His story is not just about connecting with spirit guides but about understanding the balance between our physical world and the spiritual realm.

Phil's exploration isn't limited to mediumship. He also shares insights into his efforts in writing a trilogy, inspired by something greater than himself. He delves into the power of meditation and provides practical tips for those struggling to stay present in the moment. As we wrap up, we discuss the challenges of science when it comes to understanding the paranormal and the fear surrounding the unknown. This conversation is a true testament to Phil’s resilience, spiritual growth, and unwavering belief in the power of the spirit world. Join Phill and me in this mesmerizing journey of loss, hope, and spiritual awakening.

Unearthing Intuition Following Loss: Sarina Baptista's Path to Mediumship11 Aug 202301:16:44

Can you imagine unearthing your intuitive abilities following a heart-wrenching loss? My recent heartfelt discussion with the impressive Serena Baptista, an award-winning author, international speaker, spiritual teacher, and evidential psychic medium, explores this journey. Serena candidly shared the story of how her son, JT, who tragically left us at the tender age of seven, guided her toward the discovery of her gifts and purpose.

We navigated the realms of mediumship, spirituality, and the afterlife, sharing our personal journeys. Serena provided fascinating insights into her book and her ongoing conversations with JT, sparking a dialogue about the profound, universal questions that arise when a child departs too early. Not shying away from tough topics, we explored the issue of suicide, the extra love and compassion shown to these souls on the other side, and their role in guiding those considering the same path.

To wrap up, we delved into how we can establish a connection with our guides and recognize the signs they offer. The importance of meditation was emphasized, as well as setting an intention to connect with high-frequency assistance exclusively. Our guides communicate in various ways, ranging from number sequences to dreams, and these means of connection can evolve. This episode offers enlightening perspectives, and tools for connection and underlines the significance of creating a safe space during our spiritual explorations. Join us for this riveting conversation and deepen your understanding of the afterlife, mediumship, and the enduring bonds of love.
