In this episode of the Green Ops Podcast Luke talks with Matt Little, owner of Greybeard Actual and author of "The Way is in Training" about training and his new book.
 
Matthew Little retired as the training coordinator and an operational supervisor on a major metropolitan SWAT team, and is a US Army Special Forces combat veteran with decades of operational, instructional, and training experience in firearms, tactics, and combatives. Matt is also a lifelong martial artist and former nationally ranked competitor. He is ranked as a master class shooter by the US Practical Shooting Association, and the International Defensive Pistol Association. Matt has instructed police and military personnel in the U.S. and abroad, and has taught firearms, self-defense and martial arts extensively to civilians.

The Way is in Training, is on shooting and tactics, but it's not just another book on basic shooting principles, rudimentary tactics, or fundamentals weapons manipulations. Matt explore how warriors should train and fight, was well as how they should live.  Matt talks about technique, but will also dive deep into fitness, mindset and strategy. He explores leadership and philosophy as well. So whether you are a young soldier, a veteran police officer, a responsible armed citizen, or simply someone looking for an authentic life, let's examine how the lesson of combat and preparation for it can help us fulfill our potential. Let's explore the way together, and learn how the discipline of training can show us our true selves admits the chaos of life.

In 2022 Green Ops had an amazing year. We trained over 1100 students, including 70 ladies. We ran  80 classes (NOT including private training)  and we hosted 8 instructors/training companies.
Breakdown:
- 50 classes in VA  and hosted 6 instructors/training companies
- 26 classes in TX and hosted 2 instructors/training companies
- 4 classes mobile training

Are you shooting USPSA or IDPA and are stuck in C class?  In this episode Luke Talks with Green Ops instructor and USPSA Master class shooter Rowdy about how to get out C class.  Its not the hardest task but you do need to follow these 3 tips to get to the next level.

Rowdy is a multi-division Master shooter in USPSA, IDPA and Steel Challenge and has vast competition experience on multiple platforms in matches across the United States. He has trained with Bob Vogel, William Go of Academi, Chris White of Aegis Academy, Gunsite Academy and others. Rowdy has been on two seasons of the shooting competition television show “The Right Stuff” shown on The Blaze network.

Do you know when you are going to need to use your concealed carry pistol? In this episode of the Green Ops Podcast Luke talks with Tom Givens, Owner of Rangemasters about how to use stats to develop your practice sessions, where most violent encounters occur and how the rangemasters record (69-0-3) has 3 forfeits.

Tom Givens, owner, founder and lead instructor of Rangemasters started his firearms journey when he was 16 years old.  He became a police officer where he was trained and developed opinions on firearms training in general. After completing a 25-year career in law enforcement and specialized security work, Tom opened his own pistol range in Memphis, TN in 1996.  For 18 years, it was the primary source of handgun carry permit certification for the greater Memphis area.  Soon joined by his wife Lynn, the training duo formed Rangemaster Firearms Training Services to share their expertise with a much broader audience.  They now travel across the country and around the world to arm responsible citizens with the skills and knowledge they need to effectively protect themselves and their families. 

Tom has now been working in firearms instruction for over 50 years. He has trained security officers; law enforcement officers at the local, state, and federal level; and foreign government agents.

Caleb is a competitive shooter and blogger. He is the founder of Gun Nuts Media, a website and blog among competitive shooters. He is also known for competing in the first season of History Channel's marksmen competition Top Shot.  Currently Caleb is director of marketing for Taurus USA.
