In this third session in our continuing study into the Gospel according to Mark, we focus on the events surrounding the baptism of Jesus Christ by John the Baptist. Why is the sinless Son of God offering Himself for the "baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins"? Which sins did he have to confess before God? What about the events that immediately followed this baptism: The opening of the heavens, the coming down of the Spirit upon Him, the voice that thundered from Heaven, and the sending of Jesus Christ into the wilderness by the Spirit to be tempted of the devil? These events clarify why the life and message of Christ can only be summarized as the "Good News of God."

In this second Bible study into Gospel according to Mark, we look at the significant role of John the Baptist as he introduces the Lord Jesus Christ to Israel, and to the world. We cannot fully understand who Jesus Christ really is or what makes the gospel good news without paying attention to this voice in the wilderness. May the truth of this study bless your soul and rekindle the passion for the supremacy and preciousness of "... the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God" (1:1).

The education campus could easily be described as today's Most neglected mission field. Even with regular preaching of God's word, we could be failing in the call to make disciples of all nations. Today on Gospel in life, we delve on this theme to see how to better take advantage of this mission field.

The gospel according to Mark has been called by some a 'Docu-Drama'; a combination of a documentary and drama. It presents Servant of God, the Son of Man, unleashing the Kingdom of God among men through a combination of both power and weakness, confronting and being opposed, conquering and suffering dying and rising. See the Savior at work, sometimes at a pace that can leave your head spinning.

And what is Mark's the goal of presenting this portrait of 'Jesus Christ, the Son of God' (1:1)? That we may all be amazed, humbled, saved, and transformed into a new community of servants of the LORD; Disciples after the likeness of the Savior Jesus Christ.

 In this introductory study, we set the stage for a fresh sighting of the glory and majesty of the saving, serving, redeeming, suffering, dying, rising, and reigning Christ in the coming studies. Join in. Be amazed by the glory of the one who unleashes the Kingdom of God into our broken lives and world (Mark 1:14-15)!

Christ introduced his ministry by quoting the words of Isaiah 61. Who is Jesus? Why did he come? Why should we wholly hope in him?
