| 050 Life’s a Trip: Are You the Solution or the PROBLEM? Relationships + MORE | 30 oct. 2026 | 00:25:41 | |
Shop Merch: goodgenespodcast.com
COUSINSSSSS, we’re celebrating 50 episodes, and Life’s a Trip is getting REAL!
Everybody wants a good partnership, but are we willing to take accountability for what we bring to the table?
In Episode 50 of Life’s a Trip, Necia and Hailey get candid about equal partnerships, self-care, emotional responsibility, boundaries, and what it REALLY means to show up for the people we love.
Do you want an equal partnership, or just the benefits without the accountability? When life gets hard, are you helping find solutions or becoming another problem someone has to manage? And can you genuinely support others when you’re constantly exhausted, resentful, or running on empty?
We also share personal experiences about marriage, managing our emotions, recognizing when we’re part of the problem, and why prioritizing self-care is a responsibility, not something to feel guilty about.
Of course, we don’t agree on everything! We explore why partnership doesn’t have to look the same for everyone, how consideration plays a major role in love, and why some people are more comfortable discussing their problems than actually solving them.
We even get into setting boundaries, having uncomfortable conversations, and recognizing when someone may not be receptive to honest feedback.
Cousins, here’s your reminder: Showing up isn’t just about being present. It’s about being intentional, self-aware, considerate, and accountable. And sometimes empathy starts with simply LISTENING.
Let’s talk: When life gets difficult, are you usually part of the solution, or have you ever realized YOU were becoming part of the problem?
Thank you for rocking with us for 50 episodes! Here’s to more laughter, growth, accountability, and hard conversations!

| Ep 50: What If You Don’t Even Have 50% to Give? The REALITY of 50/50 | 27 oct. 2026 | 00:40:19 | |
COUSINSSSSS, WE MADE IT TO EPISODE 50!!!
And what better way to celebrate than having a REAL conversation about 50/50, because let’s be real…life isn’t always split down the middle!
In this milestone episode, Necia and Hailey challenge the traditional idea of 50/50 and discuss what it really means to show up for yourself and others when you don’t always have an equal amount to give.
Sometimes you’re operating at 80/20, 70/30, or barely have 25% to pour into yourself, let alone someone else. So what happens when BOTH people are running on empty?
Necia gets vulnerable about navigating grief and learning to love, understand, and pour into a new version of herself after losing her mom and sister. Together, we reflect on the realities of showing up through life’s challenges, extending grace, avoiding comparison, and recognizing that healthy relationships don’t always look the same.
We even get candid about our own cousin-ship and partnership through Good Genes, and how we’ve learned to meet each other where we are, even when our individual contributions aren’t always 50/50.
Cousins, this conversation is a reminder that your capacity may change, your relationships may look different, and sometimes giving your best doesn’t mean giving half. It means giving what you genuinely have while continuing to grow.
Let’s talk: Have you ever been in a season where you didn’t even have 50% to give yourself? How did you navigate showing up for others while trying to pour back into YOU?
Thank you, Cousins, for rocking with us for 50 episodes! Here’s to continuing the hard conversations, growth, laughter, and healing together!

| 049 Life’s a Trip: Can Being a Safe Place Become Unsafe for YOU? + MORE | 23 oct. 2026 | 00:20:29 | |
Cousins, everybody wants the crown, but do they really understand the weight that comes with wearing it?
In Episode 49 of Life’s a Trip, Necia and Hailey have a candid, relatable, and thought-provoking conversation about boundaries, leadership, faith, purpose, and the sacrifices that often go unseen.
Can being everyone’s safe place eventually become unsafe for YOU? At what point does being the bigger person turn into allowing disrespect? And do people genuinely admire your strength, or have they simply become comfortable benefiting from it?
We also discuss navigating doubt while walking in God’s purpose, learning to give God our YES even when we don’t know HOW, and whether leaders should be held to higher standards than everyone else.
The conversation gets personal as we reflect on the sacrifices behind success, the work required to build healthy relationships, and why people sometimes admire the crown without understanding the responsibilities that come with it.
Cousins, this episode is a reminder that being strong doesn’t mean you don’t need support, having boundaries doesn’t make you unkind, and walking in your purpose doesn’t mean you’ll never experience doubt.
Let’s talk: Do people genuinely admire your strength, or have they simply become comfortable benefiting from it?

| Ep 49: When Being the Bigger Person Gets HEAVY | Walking Like Christ Isn’t Easy | 20 oct. 2026 | 00:22:22 | |
Shop Merch: goodgenespodcast.com
Cousins, heavy is the crown when you’re trying to move like Christ, especially when your flesh wants to respond differently.
In Episode 49, Necia and Hailey have an honest and heartfelt conversation about the invisible weight of being the strong friend, the bigger person, and the light in places that can sometimes feel dark.
We discuss the challenges of extending grace and forgiveness when we don’t always receive the same in return, choosing not to respond to negativity or defend ourselves against false narratives, and learning to trust that God knows the truth even when others misunderstand us.
We also get candid about the exhaustion that can come with always being expected to show up for others, even when we’re carrying our own burdens and need someone to lean on.
Through it all, we’re reminded that becoming more like Christ is a daily journey. We won’t always get it right, but we can continue asking God to change the desires of our hearts, extend grace to ourselves and others, and keep growing.
Slow motion is better than no motion. Every day is another opportunity to become more like Him.
Cousins, let’s talk: Have you ever felt exhausted from always being expected to be the strong one or the bigger person? How do you find the strength to keep choosing grace?

| 048 Life’s a Trip: What NOT to Say to Cancer Patients, Health Red Flags + MORE | 16 oct. 2026 | 00:30:47 | |
Cousins, Life’s a Trip is back, and this conversation had us laughing, reflecting, and learning!
In Episode 48, Necia and Hailey get candid about breast cancer awareness, women’s health, friendships, and what genuine support looks like when someone you love is facing a health challenge.
We even phone in two breast cancer survivors who share their personal experiences and perspectives on what NOT to say to someone battling cancer, why words matter, and how painful it can be when friends distance themselves during difficult seasons.
We also discuss being dismissed by healthcare providers, why we sometimes know more about beauty routines than our reproductive health, and the importance of normalizing conversations about our bodies, menstrual cycles, and preventive care.
And Cousins, you know we had to have a little fun! From things our moms and grandmas taught us growing up to unexpected doctor’s news and navigating sensitive health concerns in relationships, nothing was off the table.
This episode is a reminder that showing up for others requires compassion, and showing up for ourselves requires courage, awareness, and advocacy.
Cousins, let’s talk: What’s something you believe people should NEVER say to someone facing a serious illness, even when their intentions are good?

| Ep 48: Beyond the Pink Ribbon | How to REALLY Show Up for Yourself & Others | 13 oct. 2026 | 00:47:58 | |
Cousins, breast cancer awareness is about MORE than wearing pink. It’s about how we show up for ourselves and the people we love. 🎀
In Episode 48, Necia and Hailey sit down for a heartfelt, honest, and relatable conversation about breast cancer awareness, prioritizing our health, overcoming fear, and what genuine support really looks like.
Necia shares her experience supporting her sister through breast cancer, while Hailey opens up about navigating her own health condition and how a diagnosis can change your life in ways others may not understand.
We discuss the importance of advocating for yourself in healthcare settings, finding providers you trust, and exploring free or affordable resources for mammograms, wellness exams, and preventive care.
We also talk about showing up for loved ones beyond walks, donations, and awareness campaigns. Sometimes support means listening without judgment, respecting someone’s emotions, and understanding that losing your hair, experiencing physical changes, or grieving the life you knew before a diagnosis is never something to minimize.
And Cousins, this conversation isn’t just for women! Men deserve to prioritize their health, seek preventive care, ask questions, and advocate for themselves too.
This episode is a reminder that you don’t have to wait until something is wrong to prioritize your health, and you don’t have to have all the answers to show someone you care.
Cousins, let’s talk: What’s one meaningful way someone has supported you during a difficult season, or one way you wish someone had shown up for you?
This episode is for educational and informational purposes and is not a substitute for personalized medical advice.

Cousins, Chris Phelps stayed for Life’s a Trip, and let’s just say he was NOT holding back!
In Episode 47, Necia and Hailey are joined by Chris Phelps, founder of Financipation, for an entertaining, candid, and thought-provoking conversation about dating standards, relationships, money, red flags, and life’s unexpected lessons.
Should men always pay on the first date? Is living with your parents at 29 a red flag or a smart financial decision? And should having children from previous relationships impact someone’s dating options?
Chris shares some bold opinions, while Necia and Hailey offer different perspectives on dating expectations, double standards, financial responsibilities, and why everyone’s circumstances deserve consideration.
We also get personal as we discuss facing our biggest fears, how life-changing experiences shape us, what our younger selves would think of us today, and why vulnerability can be challenging for men.
Cousins, this conversation is filled with laughs, differing opinions, real-life experiences, and a few moments that might make you say, “WAIT…WHAT DID HE JUST SAY?!”
Now we want to hear from YOU! Is living with your parents in your late 20s a red flag? And would you date someone with children? Let’s talk in the comments!

| Ep 47: REITs, Roth IRAs & Relationships?! Let’s Talk MONEY with Financipation | 06 oct. 2026 | 00:44:58 | |
Cousins, let’s talk MONEY, but let’s make it realistic!
In Episode 47, Necia and Hailey sit down with Chris, founder of Financipation, for a relatable conversation about building and maintaining wealth in today’s economy.
Chris shares gems from more than 20 years of experience in finance as we discuss REITs, Roth IRAs, index funds vs. mutual funds, good vs. bad debt, financial advisor fees, employer retirement matches, saving, investing, and creating multiple streams of income.
But we also address a reality that sometimes gets left out of financial conversations: you can’t invest money you simply don’t have. We talk about living paycheck to paycheck, increasing income, developing valuable skills, advancing your education, reducing living expenses, and finding practical ways to create more room financially.
We also get into why Chris considers marriage a potential wealth building cheat code when two people are truly aligned, while recognizing that marriage is about much more than finances.
And somehow we went from REITs to relationships! Chris shares practical dating advice for men, Necia and Hailey share their perspective for women, and we discuss dating intentionally without spending a fortune.
Whether you’re just starting your financial journey or already investing, this conversation is about making the most of what you have while working toward more.
Cousins, what are you currently focused on most: increasing your income, eliminating debt, saving, or investing? Let’s talk in the comments!

| 046 Life’s a Trip: Friends With Your Ex?! Dating, Toxic Traits & Red Flags + MORE | 02 oct. 2026 | 00:24:20 | |
Necia, Hailey, and Nesha get into dating, exes, toxic traits, red flags, soulmates, money, and a few questions we definitely weren’t prepared to answer.
What would your dating history be called if it were a Netflix series? Is ordering chicken tenders at every restaurant a red or green flag? 😂 And can you really be friends with an ex while you’re in a new relationship, or should you simply be cordial?
Things get even more interesting when we finish the sentence “My toxic trait is…” which leads to a hilarious and relatable conversation about being nonchalant, having a slick mouth, and recognizing some of our own questionable habits.
We also debate whether we’d rather know exactly when we’ll meet our soulmate or when we’ll become a millionaire, who we’d swap lives with for 24 hours, and some of the unexpected things nobody warned us about on our journeys.
Cousins, this one is FUN! So tap in and play along with us.
And we NEED answers in the comments: Can your partner be friends with their ex, or is being cordial enough?

| Ep 46: From Survival to Purpose | Nesha of RB Artistry on Faith, Loss & Beauty | 29 sept. 2026 | 00:43:46 | |
In Episode 46, Necia and Hailey sit down with Miami makeup artist Nesha, founder of RB Artistry, for an inspiring, relatable, and surprisingly fun conversation about beauty, loss, survival, faith, family, and finding purpose through unexpected circumstances.
Nesha shares her powerful testimony of surviving a horrific car accident involving an 18 wheeler that led to a year of recovery and facial plastic surgery. During her healing journey, she began learning how to do her own makeup, eventually turning that skill into a passion for helping others through RB Artistry. Necia also shares how her own car accident unexpectedly changed the direction of her life for the better.
The ladies also connect over losing a parent, growing up with siblings, and Nesha’s not so typical experience as a preacher’s kid.
And Cousins, we couldn’t have a professional MUA on the couch without getting some beauty gems! Nesha breaks down her natural glam routine step by step, including some of the products she uses to achieve the look.
This conversation reminds us that sometimes purpose can be discovered in places we never would have chosen to go.
Cousins, has something you once viewed as a setback or detour ever ended up changing your life for the better? Let’s talk in the comments.

| 045 Life’s a Trip: Relationship Drama, Going Through Phones & Group Chats + MORE | 25 sept. 2026 | 00:36:57 | |
Cousins, Alexuss stayed for Life’s a Trip and whew…some things were SAID!
Necia, Hailey, and Alexuss are putting relationships and friendships on the table for a hilarious and surprisingly deep round of Red Flag or Green Flag.
Is sharing your relationship drama in the group chat a red flag? What about going through your partner’s phone? And what happens when your partner doesn’t want your best friend at the wedding?
The conversation gets even deeper as we talk about outgrowing friendships, who we would trust with our biggest secrets, keeping friends and family out of couples’ business, and why the people closest to us should sometimes be a safe space without becoming a judge or referee in our relationships.
We also get into intimacy and the idea that tenderness can be something special you reserve for the person you truly love rather than giving that side of yourself to everyone.
There were laughs, questionable answers, relatable moments, and definitely a few “Wait…WHAT did you just say?!” moments.
Cousins, we need your opinion: Is telling the group chat your relationship business a RED FLAG or GREEN FLAG?

| Ep 44: You May Feel Fine…But Are You Healthy? Sheila Dolce, PA -C Talks Labs, Stress + MORE | 15 sept. 2026 | 00:52:20 | |
Cousins, when was the last time you really checked in on your health, not just how you feel, but what’s actually happening inside your body?
For Episode 44, we’re joined by Sheila Dolce, PA, founder and Physician Assistant of Dolce Medical, for a relatable and eye opening conversation about taking better care of ourselves and becoming more proactive about our health.
Sheila breaks down the importance of seeking healthcare, the labs she recommends discussing with your healthcare provider and why they matter, common misconceptions in healthcare, and why patients deserve providers who genuinely listen to their concerns.
And Cousins, we went beyond the exam room! We talked about dieting, meal prepping, sugar vs. stress, maintaining healthy habits when life gets busy, and some of our own experiences and struggles with making healthier choices.
Sheila also shares what inspired her to pursue medicine, her mission to help remove barriers to accessible and affordable healthcare through Dolce Medical, what she’s learned about building a scalable healthcare business, and the legacy she hopes to leave behind.
This isn’t a boring health lecture. It’s a real conversation about our bodies, our habits, our choices, and why taking care of ourselves deserves to become a priority before something forces it to.
Whether you’re already on your health journey or know you have some work to do, there’s something in this conversation for you.
Cousins, let’s talk: Are you proactive about your health, or are you more likely to wait until something feels wrong before seeing a healthcare provider? | |||

Cousins, it’s time for another Life’s a Trip, and these questions had us thinking!
In Episode 43, Necia and Hailey are talking about authenticity, identity, confidence, judgment, scams, and how easy it can be to believe something that isn’t actually what it appears to be.
What’s more dangerous: pretending you have money you don’t have, pretending you’re happier than you really are, or pretending you have confidence you don’t feel? Can you truly know yourself if you’ve never spent significant time alone? And what would you do differently if you knew nobody could judge you or post it online?
We also share the things that make us uniquely ourselves that we once tried to change or hide, the red flags that might signal someone is trying to scam you, and times we’ve believed something online only to find out it wasn’t true.
This conversation is funny, reflective, and another reminder that in a world where appearances can be deceiving, knowing who you are can help you recognize what’s real and what isn’t.

| Ep 43: We’ve All Faked It…But When IMAGE Beats REALITY, We’ve Lost the Plot! | 08 sept. 2026 | 00:42:55 | |
Cousins, we’ve all “faked it till we made it” at some point…but when does it go too far?
In Episode 43, Necia and Hailey have a candid conversation about the fine line between pushing yourself toward who you’re becoming and pretending to be someone you’re not.
We discuss identity, comparison, social media, false personas, discernment, and what can happen when maintaining an image becomes more important than living in reality. We also turn the mirror on ourselves and share how following trends, comparing our lives to others, and trying to fit in can slowly pull us away from what makes us unique.
But is “faking it till you make it” always bad? Sometimes we have to smile through a difficult day, speak life over ourselves while we’re hurting, or walk confidently into a room even when we don’t fully feel it yet. The key is learning the difference between encouraging yourself forward and losing yourself in the process.
Most importantly, we talk about getting back to the source, embracing the unique way God created each of us, and developing the discernment to recognize what’s real, what’s false, and what simply isn’t for us.
You don’t have to become someone else to become everything God created YOU to be.
Tap in, Cousins, and join the conversation: When does “fake it till you make it” go too far?

Cousins, the questions were simple…but the answers definitely were NOT!
Joiè Binns joins Necia and Hailey for another round of Life’s a Trip, and this conversation had us thinking, debating, reflecting, and most importantly, LAUGHING!
Would you date someone based on their potential or only who they are today? When building a legacy, is it more important to leave behind money or give the next generation the emotional, practical, and spiritual tools to create their own?
Then things get even deeper. Would you rather become highly successful and misunderstood or be deeply loved but never reach your full potential? And does your past deserve a seat at the table when you’re trying to build your future?
We also talk about something many of us struggle with: learning how to simply listen. How do you create a safe space for someone to vent without immediately trying to fix their problem? And how can we get better at communicating when we want someone’s advice versus when we simply need their ear?
There were different perspectives, plenty of gems, and LOTS of laughs as Joiè, Necia, and Hailey shared their POVs.
Now we want to hear from you, Cousins!
Would YOU date someone for their potential? And what deserves a bigger place in the legacy you leave behind: money or the tools to create it?
Tap in and answer along with us because this is one of those conversations where there may not be one right answer!

| Ep 42: From Teen Mom to Music Executive | Joie Binns on Faith, Femininity + MORE | 01 sept. 2026 | 00:39:24 | |
In Episode 42, Necia and Hailey sit down with Joie Binns, Vice President of Operations at CMG The Label, for an inspiring conversation about faith, motherhood, femininity, leadership, healing, and her incredible journey through the music industry.
Joie shares how she went from becoming a teenage mother and entering the industry as an assistant to working her way into executive leadership. She also takes us behind the scenes of what her day to day life as a VP of Operations at a record label really looks like.
We discuss her work helping establish Roc Nation’s distribution company, her role in the operational delivery of the first same day global digital release of the NFL Halftime Show in partnership with Apple Music, and being recognized twice as a Billboard Women in Music Executive Honoree.
The ladies also have a candid conversation about navigating predominantly male led spaces while still embracing their femininity, learning that strength and softness can coexist, and refusing to lose who you are while pursuing success.
Most importantly, Joie shares how God’s hand has remained on her life throughout every season and how faith helped carry her from where she started to where she is today.
From motherhood and healing to music, leadership, love, representation, and legacy, Joie reminds us that where you start does not determine where God can take you.
Tap in, cousins. This conversation is filled with gems for every woman learning how to walk boldly in her purpose without losing herself along the way.

| 041 Life’s a Trip: Vulnerability, Relationships, Red Flags & Purpose + MORE | 28 août 2026 | 00:34:48 | |
Cousins, Life’s a Trip gets DEEP this week, but you already know we had some laughs along the way!
Elijah “Intense” El is back with Necia and Hailey, and this time his lovely wife joins the conversation as we tackle questions about vulnerability, relationships, healing, discipline, leadership, purpose, and a few questionable red flags.
Can someone express their emotions without actually being vulnerable? What’s harder for men, admitting they’re hurt, admitting they’re scared, or asking for help? Do you need to be completely healed before entering a relationship, or can two people continue healing while loving each other?
We also debate talent versus discipline, whether good leadership requires good character, being deeply known versus widely respected, and whether something that once served as your escape can eventually become part of your purpose.
And because it wouldn’t be Life’s a Trip without putting everybody on the spot, we’re sharing a few “red flags” that might actually be misunderstood.
Tap in, cousins, answer the questions with us, and tell us which one made YOU think the hardest!

| Ep 41: Elijah “Intense” El on Krump, Faith, Discipline & Community + MORE | 25 août 2026 | 00:41:18 | |
Cousins, this week we’re learning why Krump is so much more than a dance.
In Episode 41, Necia and Hailey sit down with Miami Krump 305 representative and community leader Elijah El, also known as “Intense,” for an inspiring conversation about dance, faith, discipline, self expression, and community.
Elijah introduces us to the history and culture of Krump, explains the difference between Krumping and clowning, and shares how he discovered a passion that became a powerful outlet for expression. We also get to know the difference between Elijah, the man of God and husband, and “Intense,” the performer who comes alive through movement.
As former dancers themselves, Necia and Hailey reflect on their own backgrounds in ballet, jazz, hip hop, and African dance as the three discuss how dance and their shared faith have strengthened them physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
We also learn about the South Florida Krump community and how Krump is being used to create safe spaces for expression, mentorship, discipline, creativity, and positive community impact.
This conversation is about more than choreography. It’s about discovering healthy ways to express what’s inside of you and using your gifts to positively impact the people around you.
Tap in, cousins, and meet Elijah “Intense” El as we step inside the culture, purpose, and power behind Krump.

| 040: Reddit Questions About Grief, Love & Navigating Hard Conversations | 20 août 2026 | 01:08:46 | |
Cousins, Reddit asked the questions, and we’re sharing what WE would do.
For Episode 40, Necia and Hailey switch things up and respond to real Reddit stories from people looking for advice, perspective, and a little wise counsel while navigating some difficult situations.
We discuss whether staying extremely close to an ex can prevent you from truly moving on, a woman standing firm in her decision not to have children, and complicated family dynamics that can surface after losing someone you love.
One story leads us into a candid conversation about our own experiences with grief and how loss can reveal unexpected sides of relationships, family, and even the people you thought would support you most.
We also carefully respond to a young survivor seeking guidance on telling a trusted family member about sexual abuse. We approach the conversation with empathy, compassion, and humility while recognizing that some experiences require support beyond what we can provide through a podcast.
We don’t have all the answers, cousins. We’re simply sharing our perspectives, personal experiences, and what we would consider if we found ourselves navigating these situations.
Some stories are relatable. Some are complicated. And some remind us why having safe people and wise counsel around us matters.

Cousins, you’ve heard the saying “opposites attract,” but do opposites actually work better together?
In Episode 39, Necia and Hailey keep it short, funny, and real as they discuss just how different they are from each other and why those differences have actually strengthened their relationship as cousins and business partners.
From completely different personalities and preferences in men to the ways we think, communicate, and approach life, we’re talking about how the people who are least like us can sometimes complement us the most.
Whether it’s in love, friendship, family, or business, being different doesn’t always mean being incompatible. Sometimes your differences are exactly what create the balance you need.

Should your partner be your safe place for everything, or are some conversations better suited for a therapist or trusted friends?

Real conversations. Real questions. Real growth.
