Golf Origin Stories is back for 2022!
As has (sort of) become tradition, we're kicking this year off with a musician. None other than everyone's favorite golf parody songwriter, Sam Harrop.
We talk about his musical origin story, how he ended up taking #GolfTwitter by storm with his parody songs, and when and how he fell in love with golf.
You should follow Sam on Twitter at @sam_golf) and on YouTube at Sam Harrop - YouTube.
As I mention in the show, my YouTube show, That Range Life: A Show Sometimes About Golf, which I co-host with DrivingRangeHeroes.com's Bill Bush will now also be available as a podcast! Give it a listen if you're into random conversations about all sorts of things which sometimes includes golf.
Thanks for listening and please subscribe and leave a review of the show. It really helps!

mardi 16 mars 2021 • Durée 01:11:49
The show is back with an all-new guest this week, Matt Neeley, VP of Product Development for Tour Edge Golf!
Considering his age, Matt has had quite the career already within the world of golf equipment. From his first job at Adams Golf to designing clubs for Nike, and now developing some of the best equipment in the game at Tour Edge.
We talk about what it was like starting a new job in the midst of a pandemic, last year's release of the Hot Launch E-series clubs, and the company's newly released Exotics 721 clubs.
As I mention in the show, you should give the most recent episode of The Talking Golf Getaways podcast a listen with guest Augustin Piza. It's an amazing conversation.

GOS From The Archives - Cassie Bausch, Cathy Harbin, and Diane Knox
Saison 2 · Épisode 8
mardi 2 mars 2021 • Durée 53:17
It's my very first clip show!
I thought as we kick-off Women's History Month, it would be a good opportunity to revisit some conversations I've had with a few of the women involved in golf that I've had on the show.
Starting way back on May 5th of 2020 with my conversation with Marketing and Social Media Manager of Club Champion, Cassie Bausch. (Full episode here: Golf Origin Stories - Cassie Bausch (buzzsprout.com)).
You can follow Cassie on Twitter and Instagram @GolfBandWagoner
Next, Cathy Harbin, owner of Pine Ridge Golf Course, but someone who has dedicated her life to growing the game of golf. (Full episode here: Golf Origin Stories - Cathy Harbin (buzzsprout.com))
And finally, Diane Knox, our conversation covered a lot of different topics, but these two clips are about how she became involved on the broadcasting side of the game and how she fell in love (after she hated it for so long) with playing golf. (Full episode here: Golf Origin Stories - Diane Knox (buzzsprout.com))
Michael Vrska III of Asher Golf
Saison 2 · Épisode 7
mardi 23 février 2021 • Durée 53:18
Michael Vrska III is the second Vrska I've had on the show! Back in Season 1, I actually had his dad on the show! You can listen to that episode here.
That being said, MV3 is creating his own path in the world of golf. At the age of 25, he is already the Marketing Manager for one of my favorite golf companies, Asher Golf.
We talk about nicknames as a kid, the brand itself, a fun story about the release of one of their most popular releases ever, and when, how, and why he fell in love with golf.
I highly recommend checking out everything AsherGolf.com has to offer, especially their golf gloves. I've been using them every season since I started playing.
You can follow MV3 at @VrskatheThird1 on Twitter.
You can also follow me on Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube @KrisMcEwen.
Also, check out our brand new store! I have a few Golf Origin Stories t-shirts on the site and there are more things to come!
Finally, if you're into golf course architecture, check out the latest Talking Golf Getaways podcast with Keith Rhebb!

My guest this week is the Marketing and Social Media Manager for Srixon, Cleveland, XXIO, and Asics, Noelle Zavaleta!
Noelle also happens to be one hell of a golfer. I know this because much of her early playing days are actually on record!
We talk about her career as an amateur, going all the way back to her early-teens and into her college playing days, when she fell in love with golf, and what it's like on the marketing side to release new golf equipment to the masses.
Follow Noelle on Twitter @noelleeeez and Instagram @noelleeeez.
Don't forget to subscribe, rate, and review the podcast for me, and (big news!) the show now has MERCH!
Jason Hiland of Sub70 Golf
Saison 2 · Épisode 5
mardi 9 février 2021 • Durée 58:24
My guest this week is my good friend, Jason Hiland, founder, and owner, of Sub70 Golf.
While you may already be familiar with Jason and Sub70, what you may not know is that he actually owns two other golf companies, Hurricane Golf and Diamond Tour Golf, one of which he started way back in 1995.
We kick things off by discussing Sub70's upcoming Tommy Armour III iron release. How the partnership began, what it was like working with TAIII, and what it's like preparing for a new equipment release.
Then we get into all of his company origins as well as his own golf origin story.
You can follow Jason on Twitter @GolfSub70 and check out all of the Sub70 Golf equipment at GolfSub70.com.
You can also follow me @KrisMcEwen on Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. And you can check out my weekly golf show with "Dr. William Bush the Third", That Range Life: A Show Sometimes About Golf, right here.
Finally, check out this week's Talking Golf Getaways episode with Keith Rhebb!
Thanks again for listening!
