Drawing from my own personal experiences, this episode unveils my journey navigating through the crippling fear of failure that had taken root in my life. I reveal how I allowed perfectionism - a common manifestation of this fear - to dictate my actions and decisions. Through my struggles, I discovered that this fear can significantly entrench itself in our identities, causing us to deviate from the path that God has intended for us. But luckily, there is a way out! I share my process and how nurturing our minds, adhering to faith, and anchoring our existence in God's promises can steer us towards liberation.
Unmasking the fear of failure, we discuss its various guises such as procrastination, perfectionism, and paralysis and how these can act as deterrents from God's plans for us. Rooted in Timothy 1:7, we are reminded of the innate power, love, and sound mind given to us by God, which can act as an antidote to the spirit of fear. As we explore the damaging effects of fear on our lives and how it instills confusion and instability, we realize the importance of placing our identities firmly in the Lord. This acts as a solid foundation, aiding us in breaking free from this cycle of anxiety and fear.
Towards the end, we unveil a powerful strategy to combat the fear of failure - the five Rs: renew, rehearse, reinforce, resist, and rejoice. By implementing this strategy, we challenge the enemy's lies, co-laboring with the Holy Spirit to overcome fear and inadequacy. Join us as we pray for a breakthrough and encourage everyone to challenge their fears, question the lies they've been told, and embrace the truths that the Lord reveals to us. It’s that feeling you may get that if the people around you knew the “real you,” they would shun you, reject you, or call you out for being a fraud.
It can be overwhelming and debilitating, and it can prevent you from pursuing good things out of fear. This fear comes straight from the enemy trying to break down your identity and convince you to agree with his lies.
In this episode of God’s Plan for Living, I tell you about a time where I felt overwhelmed by imposter syndrome, what I did about it in the short term (not my finest hour), and what I’ve learned to do about it in the long term.

This creativity can be a double-edged sword, though, because as much as our minds may create good things that lift us up, they can also drag us down with negativity. Depression, anxiety, frustration, confusion, self-doubt, and other challenges in our minds can disconnect us from God’s beautiful creative flow.
So what can we do about this? The Bible gives us the answer: transform our lives through the renewing of our minds.

Of course, this doesn't mean we can just go around sinning all up and down the block. But it does mean that God's grace is with us no matter what.

For a lot of Christians, the Gospel is about salvation and only salvation. Jesus died on the cross to save us from receiving the punishment for our sins - an eternity of separation from God in Hell. Therefore, the reason to become a Christian is to be saved. And once you’re saved, you’re just waiting for this wretched, sinful world to come to an end so you can finally enjoy the fruits of Jesus’ salvation.
I feel like these Christians, well-meaning though they are, are selling Jesus short. His sacrifice is the source of our salvation, of course, but there’s more to it than that. With His sacrifice, not only are we saved from Hell, but we are reconciled to the Father while we’re still here on Earth!
This means you don’t have to spend all your time counting the days till the end comes. You can spend your remaining days enjoying your relationship with God and living in line with your unique assignment in the Kingdom.
In this episode of God’s Plan For Living, I talk about how the Gospel of the Kingdom is more than just the Gospel of Salvation, and how you can embrace God’s design here and now. I hope you’ll listen and open yourself up to God’s great gifts you can enjoy here on Earth, before the time comes for you to use the ticket to Heaven that Jesus bought you.

We believers want to know the will of God, but at times it can feel unknowable. Most of the time, God doesn’t write His divine plan for you in big letters across the sky or have the angels sing it down to you in four-part harmony. But that doesn’t mean He isn’t showing it to you.
So what does it take to perceive, recognize, and discern the will of God?
Don’t worry - you don’t have to go to divinity school or get the Pope on a Zoom call. But there are some ways you can prepare yourself to receive God’s message through reading His Word, and even in contemplating the way He has led your life so far.

Today, the church is facing a real crisis. It’s losing members, it’s losing enthusiasm, and it’s frustrating believers to the point of despair.
And what’s behind this despair that’s creeping into the church? I believe it’s caused by the church focusing on the wrong things.
Instead of focusing on Christ’s power to bring internal transformation to believers, so many churches are more concerned with external transformations - making sure everybody acts a certain way, even if they don’t feel it on the inside. Behavior modification.
So is the church doomed? What can we do to get back on track?
