He hails from Marietta, GA and is an American cyclist competing at the national and international level for Contour Endurance and Fresh Bikes. Specializing in cross country mountain bike racing, he also competes in other disciplines including gravel and road. Zach has raced in major events and continues to grow as an athlete striving to perform at the highest level. We met him at the Dirty 30 and he did two full tours of Blankets in 2 hours! We uncover the big news about SORBA breaking away from IMBA with Dan the Man! He brings a really cool fresh perspective to SORBA with his business and financial background, non profit experience and casual MTB'er. Being what he phrased as somewhat of an outsider of the industry he really looked at things in a different way to help pave the way for this big move. It was fun to get to know the guy behind SORBA but also him as a person. Got to know him originally as a fan of the podcast and him buying some merch from me near the trails. What a treat it was to talk to Stan who has been in the mountain biking space a long time! We will need a part two of this soon as we only fit about half the discussions we wanted to. We chatted about everything from his early days when mountain biking barely existed, to current day and everything in between. We also touched on his trail work and being a USFS Certified Sawyer, favorite saws, favorite bikes and soooo much more. His group is also responsible for two of the most used mtb trail systems Chicopee and Jake/Bull MTN, along with 7 other trail systems. Catch ya a listen of this local legend!

On episode 83 (I said 84 but ignore that ;)) we chat with the leaders of Standing Boy Trail system in Columbus GA! The buzz has been generating over these trails in our state and since I have heard such great things we had to get them on to hear the story of the trails, what they entail, and the stories of the individual leaders and their journey in mountain biking. I am super excited to visit this trail system after recording this and hope you are too!
