Laura is the co-founder of See You at Jeanie's, a consultancy helping organisations capitalise on the women's sports revolution.

After 20 years campaigning for some of the world's biggest brands, Laura has gone full-time to work in women's sport - and she's a trustee at Liverpool FC Foundation too.

We've recorded our first ever live show in front of a real life audience!

We were invited by friends of the podcast INDIVISA to record at their event, celebrating the Euros and the football community. It was such an exciting event for us to be a part of and was made all the more special by this week's amazing guest, the journalist Miriam Walker-Khan.

Miriam is a Sky Sport News presenter for diversity and inclusion, she also runs Brown Girl Sport Community, spotlighting South Asian women in sport.

She tells us about her career-highlight interview, what it was like speaking at the United Nations about sports and human rights, and tells the incredibly sweet story of her engagement in Zanzibar during a rainy photoshoot that "went wrong but ended up perfect".

This week we welcome our new gal crush Deena Greaves to the podcast, former professional footballer, women's sport advocate and the holder of five (yes 5) Guinness World Records!

Deena's journey with football has taken her all over the world and seen her play for the Arsenal youth team and sign a professional contract with her beloved Fulham FC.

She was even called up to represent England at youth level, before moving to Egypt and eventually representing the Bahrain national team.

She has been involved with various academies as a coach and now works as the UK Project Lead for Ida Sports, which makes football boots (or cleats for our North American listeners) that cater to the small differences that exist between men’s and women’s feet and aims to eliminate preventable pain points.

We LOVED having Deena on the podcast, hearing all about her Dream Team, her world records, how she dealt with knock backs in football, her ultra competitive streak and so many lols our cheeks hurt by the end.

This week on the Gals FC Dream Teams podcast, Lorne and Nora meet Anita McNaught, a former foreign correspondent who has reported from some of the most dangerous places in the world.

Her story starts way back when she was a rebellious teenager who wanted to leave a chaotic home life behind, moving to New Zealand when she was just 20 years old to start over.

After forging a journalism career in New Zealand, she left to take her career to new heights, reporting for some of the world's best-known news organisations from war torn countries like Iraq, Syria and Sudan. And then gave it all up to, reluctantly at first, save the family farm in Sussex. Spoiler alert: she saved it!

Anita's story is one of taking risks and always standing up for what she believes in. Her Dream Team is made up of exceptional women, all of whom have shown kindness and bravery throughout their lives.

Wow - what an episode we have in store for you today. Our guest, Pinky Lilani is the definition of an inspirational women, we meet one of our Gals FC gals, and Nora has some big news...

First to Pinky who has achieved so much in her life and is also just one of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet. We’re back with a bang after the summer break, with a special celebratory episode. This Wednesday is a very momentous day for Gals FC; the anniversary of our first ever kickabout in the park! We decided to celebrate by highlighting what has inspired us along the way.

Rather than 5 inspirational women, we will be discussing our 5 inspirational Gals FC moments. The moments which, looking back, have pushed us forward, changed the Gals FC trajectory, and got us to where we are today. 

We are very proud to be helping women find their feet in the world of football, with 5 friendly football games running a week, 5 more opening in the next couple of months, and with a goal of 100 games in the next 2 years, it’s important to take a break from the whirlwind to appreciate how it’s going!

In our last episode before we break for August we bring you Sara Harrak, a British-Moroccan Director specialising in short films, one of which is called F**ked and can be caught on channel 4 right now. 

Sara plays for Bangers FC, a grassroots team for women and non-binary people in East London, and is currently working on a short film called Solers United. It was inspired by her love for the community that she has become part of since playing with her club.

Our conversation covers wrestling (yes physically!) with her mum, figuring out her relationship with Islam, having an existential crisis in your 30’s, working with your best friend, and the never ending battle to make it in the creative industry.
