#003: Reputation Capital - Siddharth Sthalekar

Traditional monetary capital is based on zero-sum and absolute standards. However, this does not capture all the human value creation because we do so much more than what can be captured by simple monetary terms. How do we integrate this into quantifiable value?
A graduate of IIM Ahmedabad, Siddharth was the head of South Asia’s largest trading floor until 2011. He then spent four years in the Gandhi Ashram where he explored new paradigms for economics.
He is based out of Singapore where he has founded Sacred Capital. Together with team-mates around the world, they are building a reputation based economy to unleash multi-dimensional wealth. Their reputation interchange enables scaling of new forms of capital: social, cultural and intellectual.
Over the past 8 years, Siddharth has spoken at hundreds of public forums - from weekly features on television channels, to academic institutions like MIT, platforms for ideas like TEDx and more. His story has also been featured in publications like Forbes Asia, GQ and more."

We live in a world powered by the burning of fossil fuels. While it has enabled industrialization, delivered electricity to our homes and exponentially increased our mobility, it has come at tremendous cost to our environment and has proved to be unsustainable in the long run.
Jimeno Fonseca from Future Cities Laboratory, is a senior researcher and part of a team of scientists and professionals from related disciplines that is currently reimagining and designing cities of the future. An expert in urban energy systems, he shares with us some of the innovations and emerging new models and that will pave the way for greener and more cost effective solutions to the distribution of power in cities.
Future Cities Laboratory is an arm of ETH Zurich and is run in collaboration with the National Research Foundation. It’s aim is to shape cities through innovations in science and urban design. Feel free to drop by at their home page at:

#002: Blockchain & Spirituality - Karthik Iyer
vendredi 15 novembre 2019 • Durée 45:23
What do we need to spiritually harness an empowering technology such as blockchain?
Just as beauty is in the eye of the beholder, technology is as well. While it can be used to scam people or launder money, it can also be used to create a society that is more open and transparent. The internet has given people so much access to information that it has limited government’s power to control the people with propaganda. Blockchain technology is taking it to another level by further giving people the accountability and control of that information. We are at the cusp of that change and with an egalitarian society it can be a reality. Is the human race ready to embrace this technology with the right mindset?
I believe when creating technology or business, if it weren’t for the betterment of humanity, society and the planet that we live in, there is no point. This desire to elevate ourselves to a higher level of social connectivity derives from our heart, and our spirit. Blockchain can help us achieve this greater purpose.
But is blockchain just another fad? Weren’t there scams that entrenched the whole industry a few years ago?
Bitcoin was created so as to send money peer to peer by circumventing the central bank’s authority to control money flow. The underlying technology called blockchain allows for value and information to be exchanged without an intermediary. It is now being explored from startups to multi-national companies, which is making a groundbreaking impact on how we store, exchange and trace data.
Watch Karthik explain how we can take a step forward with spirituality.
Karthik Iyer is the ambassador of the P2P-Foundation (https://p2pfoundation.net/) and runs Blockchain Monk (http://blockchainmonk.com/) a DLT / DAO think tank out of Singapore and San Francisco. Due to his P2P-Foundation links, he has been involved in the Blockchain space for close to a decade. He was featured in the top 100 Fintech influencer list and mentors dozens of DLT startups in 4 continents.
He is a serial entrepreneur and founded Asia’s first neural network in the matching space and was part of the team that built one of the first tablet devices way back in 2007; he has successfully exited all his ventures to date. He holds close to half a dozen degrees from leading schools in the world like KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, Fudan University in China, among others.
He is regularly featured in Forbes, Economist and leading newspapers in Scandinavia, India and other Asian countries for his work on Blockchain & AI.

#001: Content Marketing - Neal Moore
vendredi 15 novembre 2019 • Durée 59:47
Do we just want quick dopamine hits? Is it true that we are really so starved for attention, desperate for the “likes” we get on social media, that we post whatever makes people react?
Do we really want instant gratification? Do we wish to stuff our faces with junk food, then snap our fingers and expect to have a body like a demi-god?
Have we lost our attention span? Can we listen to a speech for more than 10 minutes without pulling out our smartphones?
The internet has lowered barriers to create and distribute content. We are drowning in so much information and content, and making rapid choices on the kind of content that we take in. On top of that we now have a polarization of quality. How do we make these choices? Why do we spend time on one content and not on another? How do content creators create content that sticks?
Watch Neal Moore break these down for us in our latest podcast.
Neal has a 20 year career spanning across TV, publishing, advertising and film in the UK, USA and Asia where he is currently based.
He was originally trained as an actor and then as a journalist. He co-founded Click2View, Singapore’s first dedicated content marketing agency in 2010, which served world-class clients including AIA, Ben & Jerry's, Canon, Cisco, Citibank, Google, HSBC, Panasonic, Singtel & Visa.
After selling his business in 2017, he spent a year writing, developing and producing two short films, a sitcom and a podcast series, before taking a role as Head of Content & Business Development with Southeast Asia's largest independent production company.
In January 2019, he launched Moore's Lore Media (https://www.mooreslore.com/) - Content Strategy & Storytelling Solutions with the goal of helping people and organisations tell better stories for business impact. He has been featured in Asian Entrepreneur, Inc. ASEAN, Marketing Magazine, Mumbrella Asia, Singapore Business Review, South China Morning Post, The Guardian, on Australia+, BBC Asia Business Report and the BBC’s Talking Business with Linda Yueh.

#065 Extera: Reflections on Nihilism - Mitigating the Pitfall
dimanche 4 juillet 2021 • Durée 01:04:49
Nihilism is permeating in Western Societies but it's starting to spread across the world. Distrust in politics, economy, financial markets, science, and perhaps even technology. It isn't just the bifurcation of ideology but the classification of people, failed monetary policies, diversion from value to price, and widespread misinformation and propaganda. Has everything lost its meaning and value?
In this episode, we bring back Jim Mosquera from Episode #24 Reflections on Freedom, to talk about why there's nihilism in pretty much everything we see today and the way out of it. Perhaps we are at the end of the era of Pax Americana and heading towards the Dark Ages. However, we discuss there is a way to mitigate this situation.
Here's what we talk about in this episode,
- Decimation of religion debased morality
- Digitisation of society weakens the physical social fabric
- Categorisation of people widens gaps in society
- Ambiguity created by relying on science
- Decentralisation is about localizing
Jim is a founder of Alliance University that provides a marketplace of knowledge that is dedicated to empowering people to create an objective and fair society.
