As we conclude our series on "Your Place, Your People, Your Purpose," Pastor Josh helped us discover how to find our purpose in life. He shared from Luke 19:1-2, which says, "Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through. A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy." This story shows us that even those who seem far from God can have a life-changing encounter with Jesus.

Pastor Josh shared two key points on stepping into your purpose. First, purpose flows from an encounter with God. When we meet Jesus, our lives change, and we start to see our unique calling. Second, we must hand over our passions to God, trusting Him to guide us. As Proverbs 3:5- 6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

Continuing our series, Pastor Josh discusses YOUR PEOPLE, focusing on Galatians 2:11-14, which talks about staying true to the gospel and not being influenced by others' opinions. He encourages us to become Kingdom People and draws inspiration from a poem by "Rose."

We began our new series, Your Place, Your People, Your Purpose, with Pastor Josh speaking on "Come Find Your Place." He started with Matthew 5:14-15: "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house."

He concluded with four reminders a father gave: The Robe, The Ring, The Shoes, and The Braai, from Luke 15:22-23: “But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate.’”.

As we concluded our "Impossible Is Nothing" series, Jasmina began by quoting Matthew 19:26: "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." She also guided us through Acts 12:1-6.

This week in our "Impossible Is Nothing" series, Pastor Josh shared a message about "Stop Asking, Start Declaring." He shared John 14:12-14: "Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it." He also spoke about Acts 3:1-10, where Peter heals a lame man.

He highlighted four points: Character of Integrity, Power of God, Words of Life, and Freedom in Christ. He urged us to declare God's promises and see His power. With faith, impossible is nothing.

This week in the "Impossible Is Nothing" series, Pastor Josh focused on the power of prayer. He opened with Matthew 6:9-13, where Jesus teaches us how to pray: "This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’"

He also highlighted the importance of communal prayer by referring to Acts 4:23, which says, "On their release, Peter and John went back to their own people and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them." Through these scriptures, he emphasised that prayer is not just a personal act but also a powerful collective experience that brings believers together and strengthens their faith.

Pastor Josh has started a new series "Impossible Is Nothing." It's inspired by 1 Kings 18:41-46, where Elijah prays for rain, and even though it seems impossible at first, God answers his prayer.

Pastor Josh mentioned one of our DNA "Punching Above Our Weight"—having bold faith, setting big goals, and trusting God to do great things. He encourages us to pray, serve in the church, and give generously, knowing that with God, nothing is impossible.

As we finish our "Making Change" series, Pastor Josh talked about "Tomorrow Matters." He emphasised the importance of investing in our future, sharing Proverbs 13:11b, "Whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow," and Proverbs 21:20, which says, "The wise store up choice food and olive oil, but fools gulp theirs down."

Pastor Josh also emphasised investing in our children's future and in God's house. He referenced Matthew 19:29, about the rewards of sacrifices made for God's sake, and Judges 2:10, highlighting the importance of passing on our faith. By following these teachings, we can ensure a better and more meaningful future.

As we continue with our "Making Change" series, Pastor Josh discussed "Giving Is Good." He highlighted Malachi 3:8-10, which urges us to bring tithes to God's storehouse and promises blessings in return. He also referenced Matthew 23:23, emphasising the importance of tithing without neglecting justice, mercy, and faithfulness.

Pastor Josh explained the principle of the first from Exodus 13:12-13, teaching us to give our first and best to God. By prioritising God in our giving, we can experience the blessings that come with generosity and faithfulness.

As we continue with our "Making Change" series, Pastor Josh shared insights from John 3:16 and Proverbs 6:1-6, teaching that becoming more like Jesus makes us more generous. He also explained why we get into debt and advised against making decisions based on financial fear.

He concluded with three prayers: asking God for self-control, understanding Proverbs 4:7, and seeking God's guidance for a plan. By focusing on these, we can avoid debt and make better financial choices.

Pastor Josh introduced a new series called "Making Change" this past weekend, focusing on achieving financial freedom. He emphasised that the first step to generosity is contentment, highlighting Philippians 4:11-13, where Paul says, "I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I can do all this through him who gives me strength." If you're tired of debt and feeling financial stress, this series is for you.

Pastor Josh's message challenges us to seek satisfaction in God's provision rather than material possessions. He concluded with a powerful reminder: if you always want more, you will never have enough. By embracing contentment and trusting in God's strength, we can break free from the cycle of wanting more and begin to experience true financial freedom.
