Andrew Henderson
Saison 2 · Épisode 5
mardi 29 mars 2022 • Durée 01:23:56
Well what do you know, the host of the Fraserburgh Cricket Club Chronicles, Andrew Henderson, is in the hotseat himself this time as the tables are turned and he shares his own story of getting into cricket at the Broch! Friend of the podcast Paul O'Neill steps in to ask the questions, and he has full control of where the conversation goes, what questions are asked and what gets covered on this episode.
This is the last interview episode of season two, but that's a good thing as it means the 2022 season is fast approaching! We're around a month away from the start of the competitive season at Fraserburgh, and we'll be back soon with a season preview episode, so keep an eye out for that.
In the meantime, if you want to find out a bit more about the club - or even come along to give it a go - you can get in touch on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, or just email brochcc@btinternet.com.
Thanks, as always, are also due to the band Forest Fires for our theme song: Ananda.
Richard Packer
Saison 2 · Épisode 4
mercredi 23 mars 2022 • Durée 01:17:16
It's episode four, season two of the Fraserburgh Cricket Club Chronicles and in the hotseat this time is Richard Packer! We cover a lot of ground here but it's well worth listening to, as Richard goes into his time playing disability cricket down south, being in the army and finding his way up to the north east of Scotland with the Broch! It's really impossible to do this episode justice in a few words, so go and hear it for yourself.
Training has started up again ahead of the 2022 season, and if you want to find out more about sessions or just Fraserburgh Cricket Club in general you can get in touch with the club's Facebook, Twitter or Instagram pages, or you can email brochcc@btinternet.com.
Thanks are also due, as always, to Forest Fires for our theme song Ananda.
Ian Watson
Saison 1 · Épisode 5
mardi 27 avril 2021 • Durée 01:00:29
There wouldn't be a retelling of Fraserburgh Cricket Club's history without the man, the myth, the legend: Ian Watson.
He is synonymous with cricket in the Broch - winning seven individual trophies, the 1973 Aberdeenshire Cup, the 1976 Bon Acccord Cup, Grade Two twice as well as being captain and club president - so it is no surprise that when the idea of this podcast first came about, Ian was one of the first names we wanted to get on.
Ian tells stories from starting out in cricket in the mid-50s through to his retirement at the turn of the millennium, so sit back and listen to what the man many would say is the club's greatest ever player has to say.
Training has restarted (weather permitting) for the senior squad, and this summer will see the return of the All Stars and Dynamos programmes to the Links, so if you are interested in any of those get in touch with the club on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
Thanks as always go to Forest Fires for our theme song, Ananda.
Liam Bowie
Saison 1 · Épisode 4
mardi 20 avril 2021 • Durée 01:02:24
It's a new episode of the Fraserburgh Cricket Club Chronicles, and this time we are joined by club captain Liam Bowie - who talks about being part of the Bowie dynasty at the club, representing the Broch in three cup finals, taking on the role as captain as well as his brief departure for Caledonian around about 10 years ago and much more!
Liam has really come into his own with the bat over the last few years, shattering his former best score on his way to a maiden century - which he quickly followed up with a second later in the same season.
He will be hoping that form continues into 2021, and preparations for the new season are well under way! Find the club on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter if you want to find out more about how to get involved, with training already back (weather permitting) for the senior team and the youth All Stars and Dynamos programmes set to return later this year!
Thanks, as always, are also due to Forest Fires for our theme song, Ananda.
Ryan Duthie
Saison 1 · Épisode 3
mardi 13 avril 2021 • Durée 58:08
Bowler Ryan Duthie is this week's guest on the Fraserburgh Cricket Club Chronicles!
Ryan has come right through the youth system at the Broch, joining when he was in primary school and making it all the way to the first team - where he played in Grade 1 as well as a cup final in 2018.
He is also one of the coaches who takes the club's All-Stars sessions to encourage a new generation of youngsters to take up the game, adding a whole new dimension to his passion for cricket in Fraserburgh.
Weather permitting, training has returned to The Links, so if you want to find out more about sessions and how to get involved, find Fraserburgh Cricket Club on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.

Andrew Gairns
Saison 1 · Épisode 2
mardi 6 avril 2021 • Durée 53:32
It's time to dip back into the Fraserburgh Cricket Club Chronicles, and this time the spotlight is on a current member of the committee - club secretary Andrew Gairns!
Andrew is the man behind organising training, finding out who's available to play matches as well as picking the team - so how that has changed his perception of the club is one of the things covered in this episode.
He also talks about spending time in Australia which piqued his interest in cricket in the first place, making the switch over from golf and swimming to talking about stumps and wickets, as well as contributing on the pitch for Fraserburgh.
If you want to know more about Fraserburgh Cricket Club, you can find them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Thanks once again go to Forest Fires for our theme song, Ananda.
Paul O'Neill
Saison 1 · Épisode 1
mardi 30 mars 2021 • Durée 57:19
Welcome to the Fraserburgh Cricket Club Chronicles! This is a podcast where Andrew Henderson talks to Broch players past and present to hear their stories about playing cricket in the North East of Scotland.
First up is Paul O'Neill, one of the more experienced members in the current side who made his senior debut for Fraserburgh in the early-90s. Paul became captain in 1993, leading the Broch to promotion and a cup final that he was named man of the match in, but he would later go for more than a decade without featuring for the club after moving down to England and giving up cricket altogether.
A return to Aberdeenshire in the 2010s meant a comeback for the Broch though, this time accompanied by his son Garry, and since then multiple promotions and cup finals have followed - including a first season in Grade 1 of the North East Scotland leagues since 1975.

mercredi 9 mars 2022 • Durée 01:10:06
Season two, episode two of the Fraserburgh Cricket Club Chronicles sees us chatting to Mark Witt! Mark was a regular for the club over a number of years before leaving just as the pandemic hit to join Methlick. There were a few different things that led to him leaving on good terms, which you can hear all about in this episode - as well as his first memories of cricket, how a health scare led him to trying out the sport for himself and his first encounter with a Fraserburgh player.
The Broch are running indoor training throughout the month of March for both the first team and, for the first time, girls and women-only sessions! If you're interested in finding out more, get in touch with the club's social media channels or email brochcc@btinternet.com.
