ACIM | Wake Up In the Dream, Not From the Dream19 Mar 202600:13:29

Alison Anton of the ForgiveNest Podcast for A Course in Miracles explains that awakening from the dream entirely is not the first goal; instead, an early milestone is recognizing throughout the day, “I’m dreaming this”, similar to lucid dreaming’s in-dream awareness. She describes stages: first realizing life is a dream, then acknowledging “I’m choosing to dream this,” which reveals the mind as the dream’s maker. In aligning with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, the purpose of this lucid awareness becomes forgiveness, extending love, and allowing the Holy Spirit’s “happy dreams” to gently lead toward waking. Miracles are framed as healing, helpfulness, and seeing holiness beyond bodies. She concludes with a passage from the Psychotherapy Supplement for A Course in Miracles that likens advanced healers who delay final awakening to Bodhisattvas, staying to help others awaken through “kindly dreams.”

The happy dreams the Holy Spirit brings are different from the dreaming of the world, where one can merely dream he is awake. The dreams forgiveness lets the mind perceive do not induce another form of sleep so that the dreamer dreams another dream. His happy dreams are heralds of the dawn of truth upon the mind. They lead from sleep to gentle waking, so that dreams are gone. [ACIM CE W-140.3]

There are some in this world who have come very close, but they have not accepted the gift entirely in order to stay and let their understanding remain on earth until the closing of time. They could hardly be called professional therapists. They are the Saints of God. They are the Saviors of the world. Their image remains because they have chosen that it be so. They take the place of other images, and help with kindly dreams. (ACIM, P-3.II.7:4-7)

[Miracles] are the dream’s alternative, the choice to be the dreamer, rather than deny the active role in making up the dream. …the mind acknowledges, “This is not done to me, but I am doing this.” ⁶And thus the mind is free to make another choice instead. [ACIM CE T-28.II.12:1-6]

A dream is like a memory, in that it pictures what you wanted shown to you. [ACIM CE T-28.II.4:5]

The separation started with the dream the Father was deprived of His effects, (God’s effects are us, as His creation) and powerless to keep them since He was no longer their Creator. [ACIM CE T-28.II.8:4-5]

In the dream, the dreamer made himself, but what he made had turned against him, taking on the role of its creator as the dreamer had. [ACIM CE T-28.II.8:5]

And as he hated his Creator, so the figures in the dream have hated him. ⁷His body is their slave, which they abuse because the motives he has given it have they adopted as their own, and hate it for the vengeance it would offer them. [ACIM CE T-28.II.8:6-7]

This is how all illusions come about. ⁵The one who makes them does not see himself as making them, and their reality does not depend on him. ⁶Whatever cause they have is something quite apart from him, and what he sees is separate from his mind. ⁷He cannot doubt his dreams’ reality because he does not see the part he plays in making them, and making them seem real. [ACIM CE T-27.IX.1:4-7]

It is their vengeance on the body which appears to prove the dreamer could not be the maker of the dream. [ACIM CE T-28.II.9:1]

It is not difficult to shift a dream when once the dreamer has been recognized. [ACIM CE T-27.IX.7:2]

There is no road that leads away from God. ²A journey from yourself does not exist. ³How foolish and insane it is to think that there could be a road with such an aim. ⁴Where could it go? ⁵And how could you be made to travel on it, walking there without your own reality at one with you? ⁶Forgive yourself your madness, and forget all senseless journeys and all goalless aims. ⁷They have no meaning. ⁸You cannot escape from what you are, for God is merciful, and did not let His Son abandon Him. ⁹For what He is be thankful, for in that is your escape from madness and from death. ¹⁰Nowhere but where He is can you be found. ¹¹There is no path that does not lead to Him. You are involved with unconscious distortions which are producing a dense cover over miracle impulses, making it hard for them to reach consciousness. [ACIM CE T-1.43.5:2]

Relating is a way of achieving an outcome. [ACIM CE T-1.43.5:5]

…an expression of an indiscriminate attempt to reach communion through the body. This involves not only improper self-identification, but also disrespect for the individuality of others. [ACIM CE T-1.43.6:2-3]

All shallow roots have to be uprooted, because they are not deep enough to sustain you. [ACIM CE T-1.43.7:1]

Anything that holds it that way is hardly conducive to greater stability. [ACIM CE T-1.43.7:5]

The sexual language here is intentional. Sex is often utilized on behalf of very similar errors. Hostility, triumph, vengeance, self-debasement, and all sorts of expressions of the lack of love are often very clearly seen in the accompanying fantasies. [ACIM CE T-1.43.10:4-6]

You can be wholly reliable and entirely wrong. [ACIM CE T-1.43.10:8]

The confusion of miracle impulse with sexual impulse is a major source of perceptual distortion… [ACIM CE T-1.43.12:1]

…induces rather than straightens out the basic level confusion which underlies all those who seek happiness with the instruments of the world. [ACIM CE T-1.43.12:1]

In this phase of learning, working miracles is more valuable… Miracles, therefore, are the essential course of action for everyone. [ACIM CE T-1.29.4:4-6]

When the body ceases to attract you, and when you place no value on it as a means of getting anything, then there will be no interference in communication, and your thoughts will be as free as God’s. [ACIM CE T-15.IX.7:1]

Note: Alison Anton uses the Complete and Annotated Edition (CE) of A Course in Miracles. This edition is based on the original handwritten notes of Helen Schucman, scribe of A Course in Miracles. Publisher: Circle of Atonement.

You have misunderstood sex, because you regard it as a way of establishing human contact for yourself. [ACIM CE T-1.18.4:3]

Nothing physical, mental, or spiritual should be used selfishly. The pleasure from using anything should come from utilizing it for God’s will. [ACIM CE T-1.18.5:1-2]

…arrange temporary human constellations as He sees fit. [ACIM CE T-1.18.5:3]

Human birth, maturation, and development is a microcosmic representation of a much larger process of creation and development of abilities… The real function of parents is to be wiser than their children in this respect, and to teach them accordingly. [ACIM CE T-1.18.6]

The union of bodies thus becomes the way in which you would keep minds apart. For bodies cannot forgive. They can do only as the mind directs. The illusion of the autonomy of the body and its ability to overcome loneliness is but the working of the ego’s plan to establish its own autonomy. As long as you believe that to be with a body is companionship, you will be compelled to attempt to keep your brother in his body, held there by guilt. [ACIM CE T-15.VIII.2:1-5]

I want to finish the instructions about sex, because this is an area which the miracle worker must understand. [ACIM CE T-1.46.3:1]

Inappropriate sex drives (or misdirected miracle impulses) result in guilt if expressed and depression if denied. [ACIM CE T-1.46.3:2]

We said before that all real pleasure comes from doing God’s will. Whenever it is not done, an experience of lack results. This is because not doing the will of God is a lack of self. [ACIM CE T-1.46.3:3-5]

The whole process was set up as a learning experience in gaining grace. [CE T-1.46.4:5]

Awareness of the error produces guilt. Denial of the error results in projection. Correction of the error brings release. [ACIM CE T-1.46.5:2-4]

Invite me to enter anywhere temptation arises. I will change the situation from one of inappropriate sexual attraction to one of impersonal miracle working. [ACIM CE T-1.46.7:3-4]

Listen to my voice, learn to undo the error, and do something to correct it. [ACIM CE T-1.26.6:7]

The love of God, for a little while, must still be expressed through one body to another. That is because the real vision is still so dim. Everyone can use his body best by enlarging the perception of others, so they can see the real vision. [ACIM CE T-1.46.8:1-3]

The ultimate purpose of the body is to render itself unnecessary. Learning to do this is the only real reason for its existence. [ACIM CE T-1.46.8:5-6]

I want to finish the instructions about sex, because this is an area which the miracle worker must understand. [ACIM CE T-1.46.3:1]

Fantasies and projection are more closely associated, because both attempt to control external reality according to false internal needs. [ACIM CE T-1.48.7:4]

Twist reality in any way and you are perceiving destructively. [ACIM CE T-1.48.7:6]

Reality was lost through usurpation, which in turn produced tyranny. [ACIM CE T-1.48.7:7]

Now you must choose freely to devote your heritage to the greater restoration. As long as a single slave remains to walk the earth, your release is not complete. Complete restoration of the Sonship is the only true goal of the miracle-minded. [ACIM CE T-1.48.7:8-10]

Fantasies become totally unnecessary as the wholly satisfying nature of reality becomes apparent. [ACIM CE T-1.48.9:2]

They are frequently selected precisely because they are not suited to gratify your fantasies. This is not because you want to abandon or give up the fantasies, but because you are afraid of them. [ACIM CE T-1.48.10:2-3]

continue to look around for chances to indulge the fantasies.” [ACIM CE T-1.48.10:4].

can often be corrected within the existing framework. [ACIM CE T-1.48.11:1]

Know first that this is an expression of fear. Your love toward each other is not perfect and this is why the fear arose. [ACIM CE T-1.48.13:3-4]

Turn immediately to me by denying the power of the fear, and ask me to help you replace it with love. This shifts the sexual impulse immediately to the miracle impulse and places it at my disposal. [ACIM CE T-1.48.13:5-6]

Then acknowledge the true creative worth of both yourself and the other one. This places strength where it belongs. [ACIM CE T-1.48.13:7-8]

This can be truly abated only by releasing the miracle drive, which has been blocked. Converting it to sexual libido merely produces further blocking. [ACIM CE T-1.48.17:2-3]

The recognition of the real creative power in yourself and others brings release because it brings peace. [ACIM CE T-1.48.17:6]

And I personally love these sentences to cap off the sex notes:

Remember that you who want peace can find it only by complete forgiveness. You never really wanted peace before, so there was no point in knowing how to get it. [ACIM CE T-1.48.18:1-2]

³We once said that the first change before dreams disappear is that your dreams of fear are changed to happy dreams. ⁴That is what the Holy Spirit does with your special relationship. ⁵He does not destroy it or snatch it away from you. ⁶But He does use it differently, as a help to make His purpose real to you. ⁷Your special relationship will remain, not as a source of pain and guilt, but as a source of joy and freedom. ⁸It will not be for you alone, for therein lay its misery. ⁹As its unholiness kept it as a thing apart, its holiness will become an offering to everyone. You cannot enter into real relationship with any of God’s Sons unless you love them all, and equally. Love is not special. If you single out part of the Sonship for your love, you are imposing guilt on all your relationships and making them unreal. I can love only as You love. I will seek not to love unlike You, for there is no love apart from Yours. Until I recognize that this is true, I will have no idea what love is like. [ACIM CE T-13.XI.11:1-3]

You do not see what you have done by giving to the world the role of jailer to the Son of God. What could it be but vicious and afraid, fearful of shadows, punitive and wild, lacking all reason, blind, insane, and sad? [ACIM CE W-191.1:3-4]

The slogan for this Crusade is “Listen, learn, and do.” This means: Listen to my voice, learn to undo the error, and do something to correct it. The first two are not enough. The real members of my party are active workers. [ACIM CE T-1.26.6:5-9]

Morning and night devote what time you can to serve its proper aim, and do not let the time be less than meets your deepest need. [ACIM CE W-193.12:5-6]

A giant step forward in your case would be to insist on a collaborative venture. This does not go against the true spirit of meditation at all. ³It is inherent in it. Meditation is a collaborative venture with God. It cannot be undertaken successfully by those who disengage themselves from the Sonship, because they are disengaging themselves from me. [ACIM CE T-4.VIII.21:1-5]

Nor is a lifetime of contemplation and long periods of meditation aimed at detachment from the body necessary. All such attempts will ultimately succeed, because of their purpose. But the means are tedious and very time-consuming, for all of them look to the future for release from a state of present unworthiness and inadequacy. [ACIM CE T-22.VII.5:4-6]

Be sure both to begin and end the day with a practice period. ²Thus you will awaken with an acknowledgment of the truth about yourself, reinforce this acknowledgment throughout the day, and turn to sleep as you reaffirm your function and your only purpose here. [ACIM CE W-61.6:1-2]

I would not ask you to do things which you cannot do, and it is impossible that I could do things you cannot do. Given this, and given this quite literally, there can be nothing which prevents you from doing exactly what I ask, and everything argues for it. I give you no limits, because GOD lays none upon you. [ACIM CE T-8.VIII.9-10]

Each time you practice, awareness of the truth is brought a little nearer at least; sometimes a thousand years or more are saved. [ACIM CE W-97.3:2]

This is a course in miracles. It is a required course. Only the time you take it is voluntary. Free will does not mean that you can establish the curriculum. It means only that you can elect what you want to take at a given time. [ACIM CE In.1:1-5]

Comparison must be an ego device, for love makes none. Specialness always makes comparisons. It is established by a lack seen in another, and maintained by searching for and keeping clear in sight all lacks it can perceive. [ACIM CE T-24.II.1:1-3]

Anger is never justified. Attack has no foundation. [ACIM CE T-30.VII.1:1-2]

Readiness is nothing more than the prerequisite for accomplishment. [ACIM CE T-2.XII.9:3]

ACIM | Understanding from the Inside19 Feb 202600:12:23

In this episode of the ForgiveNest Podcast, Alison Anton delves into the distinction between perception and knowledge in A Course in Miracles. Alison explains that the concept of knowledge according to the Course is of God, timeless and certain, contrasted with perception, which is inherently uncertain and variable. Key points include the role of right-perception in understanding our brothers and as the stepping stone to knowledge. The episode also features a practical exercise for seeing our brothers as they truly are, a crucial step in the Atonement process.

…you must get your perceptions straightened out before you can know anything. [ACIM CE T-3.V.1:4]

Misperception produces fear, and true perception induces love. Neither produces certainty because all perception varies. That is why it is not knowledge. [ACIM CE T-3.V.2:6-8]

True perception is the basis for knowledge, but knowing is the affirmation of truth. [ACIM CE T-3.V.2:6-9]

The miracle is a way of perceiving, not a way of knowing. It is the right answer to a question, but you do not ask questions at all when you know. Questioning delusions is the first step in undoing them. The miracle, or the right answer, corrects them. [ACIM CE T-3.V.3-4]

You know when you have ceased to ask questions. [ACIM CE T-3.V.4:7]

Visions are the natural perception of the spiritual eye, but they are still corrections. The spiritual eye is symbolic, and therefore not a device for knowing. It is, however, a means of right perception, which brings it into the proper domain of the miracle but not of revelation. [ACIM CE T-3.V.6:1-3]

So the spiritual eye is what we use for true perception, and true perception is what we use (ultimately) for revelation — in other words knowledge.

If our faculties of clairvoyance are heightened or if we tend toward deep-level visions, we might confuse these with revelation. We might think this is knowledge. But again, we have to recognize that if we perceive anything at all — even if it’s something we see with our inner eye versus our physical eye — if we see at all it’s not knowledge.

The last part of this section is truly important for us as well.

Jesus brings it back around to that in order to know God, we have to know God’s Sons, who are our brothers. Through our fear-based mis-perception we’ve forgotten who each other is, and have made us into strangers.

It is because you have made him into a stranger that you are afraid of him. What is he to you? He is your brother. What else do you need to know? But do know that. This is not a matter of perception but a fact. Perceive him correctly, so that you can know him. [ACIM CE T-3.V.10:5-11]

Jesus, help me see my brother [name] as he really is, and thus release both him and me. [ACIM CE T-3.V.10:13]

There are no strangers in God’s creation. [CE T-3.V.12:1]

He recognizes them perfectly. [CE T-3.V.12:5]

When they do not recognize each other, they do not recognize Him. [CE T-3.V.12:6]

It would be very intelligent of you to set yourself the goal of really studying for this course. There can be no doubt of the wisdom of this decision, for any student who wants to pass it. [ACIM CE T-4.VII.10:1-2]

Meaningful seeking is consciously undertaken, consciously organized, and consciously directed. The goal must be formulated clearly and kept in mind. [ACIM CE T-4.VII.8:2-3]

I have made every effort to use words which are almost impossible to distort, but human beings are very inventive when it comes to twisting symbols around. [ACIM CE T-3.III.6:3]

Steady our feet, our Father; let our doubts be quiet and our holy minds be still, and speak to us. We have no words to give to You. We would but listen to Your Word and make it ours. Lead our practicing as does a father lead a little child along a way he does not understand. Yet does he follow, sure that he is safe because his father leads the way for him.

So do we bring our practicing to You. And if we stumble, You will raise us up. If we forget the way, we count upon Your sure remembering. We wander off, but You will not forget to call us back. Quicken our footsteps now, that we may walk more certainly and quickly unto You. And we accept the Word You offer us to unify our practicing, as we review the thoughts that You have given us.[ACIM CE W-Re.5.In.1-3]

The purpose of this Guide is merely to remind you of what you want. He is not attempting to force an alien will upon you. He is merely making every possible effort, within the limits you impose upon Him, to reestablish your own will in your consciousness. [ACIM CE T-9.I.3:3-5]

We have said before that the Holy Spirit is God’s Answer to the ego. [ACIM CE T-5.IV.7:4]

Let us try no longer to impose an alien will upon His single purpose. [ACIM CE W-131.9:4]

The Call to return is stronger than the call to depart, but it speaks in a different way. [ACIM CE T-5.III.4:1]

The Holy Spirit is the mediator between the interpretations of the ego and the knowledge of the spirit. [ACIM CE T-5.IV.9:1]

“Let me recognize the problem so it can be solved.” [ACIM CE W-79:1]

“The body is merely a fact in this world. Its abilities can be, and frequently are, overevaluated. However, it is almost impossible to deny its existence in this world. Those who do are engaging in a particularly unworthy form of denial.” [ACIM CE T-2.VII.7:1-4]

“Free will does not mean that you can establish the curriculum. It means only that you can elect what you want to take at a given time.” [ACIM CE In.1:4-5]

“As the course emphasizes, you are not free to choose the curriculum or even the form in which you will learn it. You are free, however, to decide when you want to learn it. And as you accept it, it is already learned.” [ACIM CE M-2.3:6-8]

“When time is abolished and all the Sons of God have come home, no special agents will be necessary. But do not underestimate the power of special agents now, or the great need there is for them. I do not claim to be more than that myself.” [ACIM CE T-1.48.6:3-5]

“…who except a patient could possibly have come here?” [ACIM, P-2.I.4:2]

“The body’s cause IS UNforgiveness of the Son of God. It has not left its source, and in its pain and aging and the mark of death upon it this is clearly shown.” [ACIM, S-3.I.2:1-2]

“The body can be healed as an effect of true forgiveness. Only THAT can give rememberance of immortality, which is the gift of holiness and love. Forgiveness must be given by a mind which understands that it must overlook all shadows on the holy face of Christ, among which sickness should be seen as one.” [ACIM, S-3.I.3:1-3]

“Father, today I would let all things be as You created them, and give Your Sons the honor due their sinlessness; the love of brother to his brother and his friend. Through this I am redeemed. Through this as well the truth will enter where illusions were, light will replace all darkness, and Your Son will know he is as You created him.” [ACIM CE W-274]

The body is a fence the Son of God imagines he has built to separate parts of his Self from other parts. It is within this fence he thinks he lives, to die as it decays and crumbles. [ACIM CE W-WI.5.1:1-2]

Father, You have one Son. And it is he that I would look upon today. He is Your one creation. Why should I perceive a thousand forms in what remains as one? Why should I give this one a thousand names, when only one suffices? For Your Son must bear Your Name, for You created him. Let me not see him as a stranger to his Father, nor as a stranger to myself. For he is part of me and I of him, and we are part of You Who are our Source, eternally united in Your love, eternally the holy Son of God. [ACIM CE W-262:1]

Into the hands that give, the gift is given. Look on your brother, and see in him the gift of God you would receive. [ACIM CE T-19.IV.D.17:1-3]

“Giving to get” is an inescapable law of the ego, which always evaluates itself in relation to other egos, and is therefore continually preoccupied with the scarcity principle which gave rise to it. [ACIM CE T-4.IV.1:4-5]

There is no world apart from your ideas because ideas leave not their source, and you maintain the world within your mind in thought. [CE W-132.10:3]

God, Who encompasses all being, nevertheless created distinct beings who have everything individually, but who want to share it to increase their joy. Nothing that is real can be increased except by sharing it. That is why God Himself created you. [CE T-4.X.7:1-3]

The course does not aim at teaching the meaning of love, for that is beyond what can be taught. It does aim, however, at removing the blocks to the awareness of love’s presence, which is your natural inheritance. The opposite of love is fear, but what is all-encompassing can have no opposite. [ACIM CE In.1:5-8]

You will not bruise yourself against them in traveling through. Let your Guide teach you of their unsubstantial nature as He leads you past them, for beneath them is a world of light, whereon they cast no shadows. [ACIM CE T-18.VIII.9:1-3]

This is a course in miracles. Please take notes. [ACIM CE Front-1.3:2]

You will see miracles through your hands through me. [ACIM CE T-1:2]

Miracle Principle 1: The first principle of miracles is that there is no order of difficulty among them. One is not "harder" or "bigger" than another. They are all the same. [ACIM CE T-1.1.1]

Miracle Principle 2: Miracles in themselves do not matter. They are quite unimportant. [ACIM CE T-1.2]

Miracle Principle 3: Miracles occur naturally as expressions of love. The real miracle is the love that inspires them. In this sense, everything that comes from love is a miracle.

This explains their lack of order. All expressions of love are maximal. This also explains why miracles in themselves do not matter. The only thing that matters is the source, and this is far beyond human evaluation.

Please read these three principles as often as you can today, as if there were going to be a quiz this evening. This is merely to introduce structure, if it is needed. It is not to frighten you. Do not feel guilty if you are doubting these principles. Just reread them and their truth will come to you. My strength will support you, so don’t worry and leave the rest to me.

All miracles mean life, and God is the giver of life. He will direct you very specifically. “Plan ahead” is good advice in this world, where you should and must control and direct where you have accepted responsibility. But the universal plan is in more appropriate hands. You will know all you need to know. Make no attempts to plan ahead in this respect. [ACIM CE T-1.3

You have dreamed of a separated ego, and you have believed in a world which rests upon it. This is very real to you. You cannot undo this by doing nothing and not changing. If you are willing to renounce the role of guardian of your thought system and open it to me, I will correct it very gently and lead you home. [ACIM CE T-4.II.8:4-7]

Everything you see is the result of your thoughts. There is no exception to this fact. Thoughts are not big or little, powerful or weak. They are merely true or false. Those which are true create in their own likeness. Those which are false “create” in theirs. [ACIM CE W-16.1]

There is no more self contradictory concept than that of “idle thoughts” What gives rise to the perception of a whole world can hardly be called idle. Every thought you have contributes to truth or to illusion; either it extends the truth or it multiplies illusions. [ACIM CE W-16.2:1-3]

I have no neutral thoughts. [ACIM CE W-16:1]

I Need Do Nothing [ACIM CE T-22.VII:1]

All learning involves attention and study at some level. This course is a mind-training course. Good students assign study periods for themselves. [ACIM CE T-3.I.1:1-3]

You vaguely know that the course is intended for some sort of preparation. But are you prepared? [ACIM CE T-3.I.1:8-9]

When it occurs in the literal sense, it is a temporary device, agreed on beforehand, to check the miscreative activities of a strong but misdirected will. [ACIM CE T-3.I.2:2]

The person himself is a poor learner by definition, but only as a step toward changing from a bad to a good one. [ACIM CE T-3.I.2:4]

Mental retardation can also be used, however, as a maladaptive defense, if the wrong (or attack) side is employed. ²This produces the “pseudo-retardation syndrome,” [ACIM CE T-3.I.3:1-2]

You may well be using this defense as you read this course. This represents a joint attack on both yourself and me, because it renders your mind weak and mine incompetent. [ACIM CE T-3.I.3:3-4]

Remember, this puts you in a truly fearful position. If you cannot understand either your own mind or mine, you do not know what is really willed. [ACIM CE T-3.I.3:5-6]

The next part of this course rests too heavily on the earlier part not to require its study. Without this, you will become much too fearful when the unexpected does occur to make constructive use of it. [ACIM CE T-3.I.4:1-2]

The reason why a solid foundation is necessary at this point is because of the highly likely confusion of “fearful” and “awesome,” which most people do make. [ACIM CE T-3.I.5:1]

The next step, however, does involve the direct approach to God Himself. It would be most unwise to start on this step at all without very careful preparation, or awe will surely be confused with fear, and the experience will be more traumatic than beatific. [ACIM CE T-3.I.6:5-6]

Healing is of God in the end. The means are carefully explained in this course. Revelation may occasionally show you the end, but to reach it the means are needed. [ACIM CE T-3.I.7]

It is possible even in this world to hear only that Voice and no other. It takes effort and great willingness to learn. It is the final lesson that I learned, and God’s Sons are as equal as learners as they are as Sons. [ACIM CE T-5.II.12:1-3]

The Little Willingness [ACIM CE T-18.IV:1]

You retain thousands of little scraps of meanness which prevent the Holy One from entering. [ACIM CE T-4.V.13:1-2]

That is the real meaning of the celestial speed-up. [ACIM CE T-3.VI.18:9]

There is no order of difficulty in miracles because there are no degrees of Atonement. It is the one complete concept possible in this world, because it is the source of a wholly unified perception. Partial Atonement is a meaningless idea, just as special areas of hell in Heaven are inconceivable. [ACIM CE M-22.1:2-4]

I would like to pray that my will be united with thine, recognizing that thy perfect love will suffice (or correct) for my imperfect love. I pray that I may accept the Atonement with conviction, recognizing its inestimable worth, and my own divine worth as part of this identification with thine. I pray that my fear be replaced by an active sense of thy love, and thy continual willingness to help me overcome the split or divided will which is responsible for my difficulty with this. I accept the divinity of the messages I have received, and affirm my will in both accepting and acting upon the Atonement principle. Here I am. [ACIM CE T-2.IX.14:2-6]

You cannot give yourself your innocence, for you are too confused about yourself. But should one brother dawn upon your sight as wholly worthy of forgiveness, then your concept of yourself is wholly changed. [ACIM CE T-31.VII.2:6]

As you see him, you will see yourself. [ACIM CE T-8.II.6:2]

Forgiveness is the only gift I give, because it is the only gift I want, and everything I give I give myself. This is salvation’s simple formula. [ACIM CE W-297.1:1]

Here is the answer! Would you stand outside while all of Heaven waits for you within? Forgive and be forgiven. As you give you will receive. There is no plan but this for the salvation of the Son of God. Let us today rejoice that this is so, for here we have an answer, clear and plain, beyond deceit in its simplicity. All the complexities the world has spun of fragile cobwebs disappear before the power and the majesty of this extremely simple statement of the truth. [ACIM CE W-122.6]

The Final Judgment is one of the greatest threat concepts in humanity’s perception. [ACIM CE T-2.XIII.2:1]

The Last Judgment is generally thought of as a procedure undertaken by God. Actually, it will be undertaken solely by the Sonship with my help. It is a final healing rather than a meting out of punishment, however much you may think punishment is deserved. Punishment as a concept is in total opposition to right-mindedness. The aim of the Final Judgment is to restore right-mindedness to you. [ACIM CE T-2.XIII.4]

Everyone will ultimately look upon what he has made and will to preserve only what is good, just as God Himself once looked upon what He had created and knew that it was good. [ACIM CE T-2.XIII.6:3]

The mind will inevitably disown its miscreations, and having withdrawn belief from them, they will no longer exist. [ACIM CE T-2.XIII.6:5]

Actually, if the Last Judgment is examined objectively, it is quite apparent that it is really the doorway to life. No one who lives in fear is really alive. [ACIM CE T-2.XIII.7:3-4]

Your own final judgment cannot be directed toward yourself, because you are not your own creation. You can apply it meaningfully and at any time, however, to everything you have ever made, and retain in your real memory only what is good. [ACIM CE T-2.XIII.8:1-2]

The purpose of time is solely to “give you time” to achieve this judgment. [ACIM CE T-2.XIII.8:4]

When everything that you retain is lovable, there is no reason for any fear to remain in you. This is your part in the Atonement. [ACIM CE T-2.XIII.8:6-7]

ACIM Book Club | Reinterpreting the Fall01 Jan 202600:13:03

In this episode of the ACIM Book Club, host Alison Anton focuses on the Course's interpretation of the separation, contrasting it with the traditional biblical story of the fall. The separation is framed as a mental state, emphasizing that the separation and the fears associated with it are ultimately occurring within a dream. The episode also covers the Course's perspective on projection and miscreation, and the role of the Atonement in realizing that these errors never really occurred. Viewers are encouraged to reflect on their own perceptions of the fall and how A Course in Miracles’ teachings can aid in healing the false belief that they are “fallen”. Until the Atonement is finished, its various phases will proceed in time, but the whole Atonement stands at its end. [ACIM CE T-2.V.7:4]

It was only after the separation that the defense of Atonement and the necessary conditions for its fulfillment were planned. It became increasingly apparent that all of the defenses which humanity can choose to use constructively or destructively were not enough to save it. It was therefore decided that you needed a defense which was so splendid that you could not misuse it, although you could refuse it. Your will could not turn it into a weapon of attack, which is the inherent characteristic of all other defenses. The Atonement thus became the only defense which was not a two-edged sword. [ACIM CE T-2.V.2]

…the action aspect of the miracle should be Christ-controlled, because of His complete awareness of the whole plan. [ACIM CE T-1.45.3:3]

This course is a mind-training course. [ACIM CE T-3.I.1:2]

The Holy Spirit, like the ego, is a decision. [ACIM CE T-5.VI.11:2]

The Atonement is the device by which you can free yourself from the past as you go ahead. It undoes your past errors, thus making it unnecessary for you to keep retracing your steps without advancing. [ACIM CE T-2.V.6:4-5]

Let me remember that my goal is God. [ACIM CE W-258:1]

My lesson was like yours, and because I learned it I can teach it. [ACIM CE T-4.II.7:4-5]

The sole responsibility of the miracle worker is to accept Atonement himself. [ACIM CE T-2.VIII.5:1]

Those released by Christ must join Him in releasing their brothers, for this is the plan of Atonement. [ACIM CE T-1.34.2:4]

The Atonement was an act based on true perception. I cannot choose for you, but I can help you make your own right choice. “Many are called but few are chosen” should read, “All are called, but few choose to listen.” Therefore, they do not choose right. The “chosen ones” are merely those who choose right sooner. [ACIM CE T-3.VI.18:4-11]

The truth is still that the attraction of God is irresistible at all levels, and the acceptance of this totally unavoidable truth is only a matter of time. But you should consider whether you want to wait, because you can return now, if you choose. [ACIM CE T-2.I.1]

You have been assured that the Kingdom of God is within you, and can never be lost. [ACIM CE W-77.3:4]

The concept is really one of space-time belief. The physical world exists only because you can use it to correct your unbelief, which placed you in it originally. [ACIM CE T-1.48.24:2-4]

…you have placed yourself in a position where you need Atonement because you have done something loveless, having willed without love. This is precisely the situation for which the Atonement was offered. The need for the remedy inspired its establishment. [ACIM CE T-2.IX.13:1-3]

The Holy Spirit is my only Guide. He walks with me in love. And I give thanks to Him for showing me the way to go. [ACIM CE W-215.1:2-4]

Give him his place in the Kingdom, and you will have yours. The Kingdom cannot be found alone, and you who are the Kingdom cannot find yourself alone. [ACIM CE T-8.II.8:4-6]

When you have seen this world, as you will surely do, you will remember Us. [ACIM CE T-12.IX.5:7]

The Call to return is stronger than the call to depart, [ACIM CE T-5.III.4:1]

As I am healed I am not healed alone. [ACIM CE W-137:1]

Ours is simply the journey back to God Who is our home. Whenever fear intrudes anywhere along the road to peace, it is always because the ego has attempted to join the journey with us and cannot do so… On this journey, you have chosen me as your companion instead of your ego. Do not try to hold on to both, or you will try to go in different directions and will lose the way.

The ego’s way is not mine, but it is also not yours. The Holy Spirit has one direction for all minds, and the one He taught me is yours. Let us not lose sight of His direction through illusions, for only illusions of another direction can obscure the one for which God’s Voice speaks in all of us.

ACIM | Gold-Colored Glasses of Forgiveness09 Apr 202600:17:57

In this episode of the ForgiveNest Podcast Alison Anton explores why ACIM forgiveness doesn’t cross over with conventional forgiveness. Alison presents Course-based forgiveness as wearing “gold-colored glasses” that overlay a new vision onto worldly perception, temporarily representing truth and training the mind toward ultimate reality without denying that errors occur or require correction in local reality. She defines local reality as the perceived world that seems real, and ultimate reality as the truth ACIM points to, where everyone remains as God created them. She discusses the very challenging teaching that Jesus’s crucifixion and bodily attack does not justify anger because what is destructible is not real.

Forgiveness must be practiced, for the world cannot perceive its meaning, nor provide a guide to teach you its beneficence. There is no thought in all the world which leads to any understanding of the laws it follows or the thought which it reflects. [ACIM CE W-134.13:1-2]

Forgiveness is the means by which the truth is represented temporarily. It lets the Holy Spirit make exchange of pictures possible, until the time when aids are meaningless and learning done. [ACIM CE T-27.IV.5:1-6]

There is little doubt that one body can assault another and can even destroy it. But if destruction itself is impossible, then anything that is destructible cannot be real. Therefore, its destruction does not justify anger. [ACIM CE T-6.I.8:2-4]

You are not asked to be crucified, because that was part of my own teaching contribution. You are merely asked to follow my example in the face of much less extreme temptations to misperceive, and not to accept them falsely as justifications for anger. [ACIM CE T-6.I.12:1-2]

And as a man, I did not attempt to counteract error with knowledge so much as to correct error from the bottom up. Thus, whenever you refuse to misperceive you are indeed behaving as I behaved. [ACIM CE T-3.VI.16:2-5]
