She endured unfathomable pain including being a rape survivor, having an abortion, and facing suicidal thoughts while desperately trying to fill the void in her heart. Turning to New Age practices like meditation, chakra healing, yoga, reiki, and ayahuasca, Amanda was even on the path to becoming a shaman. But none of these brought her the peace and healing she desperately sought. I also see why those who do not know Jesus are still stuck in the ways of this world and are unable to see Him. I truly understand the mindset of non-believers and I understand how hard it is to completely change your belief system to accept Him. I’m finally ready. I'm still fearful and definitely need support from true believers. Do you have any time to talk this week? Subsequently, I had the privilege of visiting Mercy at her home in Minnesota, where we delved into our spiritual odyssey. But everything changed for me in November 2021. That’s when my spiritual awakening kicked off—a total shift in my mindset where, for the first time in my adult life, I believed in the possibility of God. I started this intense journey, both inside and out, to find my true self and connect with something greater than me. If you've been listening to my podcast, you already know I’ve tried so many different spiritual paths looking for that real connection with God. I’ve explored Ayahuasca, meditation, yoga, and even medium readings. I went all in, thinking these things would bring me healing and fulfillment. Looking back, I realize I was relying on myself and idolizing the creation rather than the Creator. I thought I could heal myself, but I’ve learned that true healing only comes from God. The crazy part? God never left my side, even when I was looking in all the wrong places. He was always there, silently guiding me until, finally, in January 2024, He spoke to me in a dream. That moment broke down every barrier of doubt I had. And by February 22, 2024, I fully embraced Jesus as my Lord and Savior. But during a recent New Age to Jesus group call, while discussing repentance, I realized that my need to "do" was actually something I needed to surrender. Even in my efforts to serve God, I was still relying on my own strength rather than letting Him lead. Through prayer and scripture, God revealed that my worth isn’t tied to productivity, love from others, or achievements—my worth is found in Him alone. I was reminded of John 15:5 and Galatians 2:20: apart from Him, I can do nothing. He doesn’t need my help—He simply calls me to abide in Him and let Him live through me.
