We "nerded out" on some recent research regarding first time 70.3 triathletes. The article she chose was published in 2021 in the International Journal of Exercise Science called "Psychological status during and after the preparation of long-distance triathlon event in amateur athletes." This article studied age-group athletes training for their first 70.3 and their psychological status going into their race. More specifically, the research aimed to evaluate levels of motivation, emotion, and passion over six months of training leading up to and one week after a long-distance triathlon.
