This week I caught up with some of my favourite babes from my Melanin Kweens class to discuss the importance and need for BPOC spaces in studios and the wider pole industry. We also share some of the reasons why we feel more comfortable in Black spaces and how they not only give us a sense of worth, pride and joy, but they are also helping us to gain the confidence to introduce ourselves in spaces we had once felt less comfortable or welcomed in. I was entirely bonnet shamed as I revealed that I don't own a luxury, silk bonnet and I'll never get over the top-tier hateration.

This episode I invited my gal pal, student and fellow Podcaster Elika on for a catch up, and we pretty much chatted about everything! We spoke about colourism, the need for BPOC-led spaces in pole and chit-chatted about life. Instead, me and my favourite Ratchet ass, Twerk Queen Chan sat down to talk about Pole Comps and came to the realisation that there's no need for anybody to cancel us, because we were pretty much born cancelled. As a seasoned comp hoe, Chan discussed what it is about pole comps she enjoys, how competition organisers should diversify their judging panels and she gave us some very useful advice for entering competitions. This episode I sit down and have a much needed chat with the Sublime, Sex Worker and Sex Work Activist Gemma Rose. We had a cracking conversation and got to know our Slutty Renegade a little better. We spoke about Sex Worker Rights and how we as allies should support and respect the founders of our industry.

YOU MADE IT! Welcome to episode 2. It's pretty long, so take your time to enjoy it. This episode I sat down with my best pal Alabama Whirley to discuss all things FAT and FABULOUS. We also discussed how the pole industry could be more inclusive of fat polers, how event organisers could be more approachable and discovered a new love for the desire to throat punch people who come for us (especially while we're eating). This week I got the opportunity to sit and chat with my good friend, studio owner and Bootylicious Babe Lucy Cropper. Our chat was so therapeutic and actually chilled me out loads. As always, with most pole pals, we spoke about our gripes in the pole industry. We also spoke about mindfulness. We discussed the common symptoms of stress and anxiety and how they can manifest in normal, everyday life along with a topic I've been eager to address, Self Care. We talked about what self care is and what it isn't. We also had a bit of a moan about how the recent popularity in self care 'tips' on Social Media can be pretty f*cking annoying.
