| Katerina Georgiou - Psychosexual difficulties and The childbearing Dilema | 29 Feb 2024 | 01:13:34 | |
I’ve asked Katerina to come and to talk about a topic that can be still a bit of taboo in the wider society, yet it is in my opinion really important topic, and that is the dilemma of 30 to 40 something women who don't know if they want children or not and feel the pressure of trying to make the decision, which is for me very much a lived experience.
We’ll also touch on another challenging subject - psychosexual difficulties - and just how common they are, esp vaginismus, and how these affect women’s health, wellbeing and relationships. Katerina Georgiou is a clinical supervisor, a Gestalt psychotherapist and counsellor, a group therapist and a couples/relationship counsellor. She works in private practice and in a GP surgery, and also works extensively with professional musicians and performing artists as a registered practitioner with the British Association for Performing Arts Medicine. She has experience of delivering therapy in NHS psychiatric hospitals, prisons, universities and a range of charities. She is the author of 'How to Understand and Deal with Stress', 'How to Understand and Deal with Health Anxiety' and 'Your Mind Matters: How to Talk About Your Mental Health', published by Hachette UK.
In the area of women's health, she delivers support groups for young women in various dilemmas around motherhood, including those questioning whether they want children, those considering solo motherhood or wishing to pursue a life path that breaks from societal convention.
She also provides individual counselling to women at various stages of life, around various issues.

| Kathryn Stagg - All that you need to know about breastfeeding | 15 Feb 2024 | 01:49:18 | |
Breastfeeding is still a bit of a taboo topic, despite it being the only way to feed babies for millions of years. In this episode, we’ve invited a highly esteemed guest to demystify breastfeeding and offer advice and support to those who might find it challenging.
Kathryn has over 17 years of experience supporting families to breastfeed their babies. She began her training after the birth of her twins when she was lucky enough to receive wonderful breastfeeding support. Given the opportunity to train to be a Breastfeeding Peer Supporter, she jumped at the chance to give something back. She headed up the multiple birth breastfeeding project in Harrow offering antenatal education and post natal support. Kathryn continued her breastfeeding education by training as a Breastfeeding Counsellor with the Association of Breastfeeding Mothers and was proud to be the 2017 winner of the ABM’s Pam’s Prize, celebrating Breastfeeding Counsellors and all the support they give. Wanting to increase her knowledge further, Kathryn trained as an IBCLC and has recently completed her 5 year recertification. She is also an OCN lever 6 Holistic Sleep Coach. She has a small private practice supporting parents with feeding and sleep, both face to face or online, alongside being founder and trustee of the charity Breastfeeding Twins and Triplets UK.
Kathryn is an experienced speaker presenting at several conferences and taking part in many conferences. She is also a published author of the book Breastfeeding Twins and Triplets; a guide for professionals and parents
Kathryn has a large following on social media @kathrynstaggibclc on Instagram and uses her account to share evidenced based Breastfeeding, parenting and sleep information, which I am very grateful for as it has been incredibly helpful on my breastfeeding journey.
Kathryn, it was you that opened my eyes to the fact that breastfeeding can go on beyond 6 months and it not just ok but beneficial to breastfeed beyond two years.
On my four year long breastfeeding journey with my son, whenever there was any trouble, I headed straight for instagram and Kathryn’s account :)

The listener is basically a fly on a wall in a therapy room.

| Rant no 1 - availability of sanitary products in hotels and work places | 30 Nov 2023 | 00:19:52 | |
We are sure there will be plenty more of these episodes as there is so much to rant about when it comes to inequality between men and women in the world. Hetal had an interesting experience recently and we decided to have a chat about it on air, because even we have not thought this would be an issue at this day and age in the UK. We can’t change the world in a day, but we can change it one day at the time, one step at the time, one life at the time, one mind at the time.

| |||
| Chilbirth Part 1 | 09 Nov 2023 | 01:01:57 | |
There is so much to say about childbirth that we have split it in two episodes and it is still just scratching the surface. This episode is about the technical and medical aspects of birth, while the next episode is more about the support and preparation.
We are using a lot of the medical terms and explain what they mean, so you have some understanding of them should you hear those during your delivery. We also talk about different types of delivery, pain management option and possible complication, to hopefully enable you to make empowered choices for yourself and your baby.
If there is one take away from this episode, it is this: ask your health professionals all the questions you might have and insist on answers, if you don't understand, ask them to explain it better, understand the pros and cons of the different options before you and surround yourself with supportive people.

| Miscarriage | 02 Nov 2023 | 01:06:42 | |
